Getting a new one started before we are full! I’ll go back now and add people - answering everyone’s last posts here!!

@MrsR16 Nesting sounds like a good idea! Our house is such a mess at the moment mid-decorating and I cant wait for it all to be done so I can tidy!!

@BabySquid Fabulous bump! Glad you had such a brilliant time. I’m starting to think that pain sleeping is all just part and parcel of being pregnant now! At my yoga class everyone complains of it!

@Tropicana1 I’m sure there’s nothing to worry about!

@purplefig Yeah it was amazing to hear! Apparently IVF twins are more likely to be small but she never explained why. But yeah, induction is less likely for growth - it could still be needed for other reasons but it’s nice to have one of them off the list! How are you feeling, sleeping any better?

@ELW85 I did sleep a little bit better! I still woke up about 4:30 but slept all the way from 10 til then which is amazing! I feel like I’m slowly getting used to just being tired now! Glad you managed a better sleep!

@PippaPug Glad you got the radiator sorted! Yeah I’m amazed at how care changes from place to place but I think the main thing is as long as someone is seeing us at least once a month then that’s great!! How have you been feeling? I’m 24+4 today and really starting to feel uncomfortable now. My bump measured approx 32 weeks yesterday!! 32!!! She thinks they must be lying all at the front.

@cupcakesandglitter From doing some googling I think at the 28 week appt they’ll more start telling me what I can and can’t do in the birth - like start laying out all of my options? So I’m not gonna worry too much and wait to see what they say! My only ‘preference’ is everyone arrives happy and healthy and all are safe and well! I love the bong haha - how are you feeling today?

@cupcakesandglitter, yeah we're enjoying NCT, we are on the signiture course. It's nice to get lots of info but also just have conversations about all aspects of birth/new baby stuff. Enjoy your Christmas shopping and definitely make the most of the swanky hotel!! Xx

@MrsR16, can I be nosey and ask about your chair in that picture?! We're thinking of getting a chair for the nursery, but can't decide if we should go for a rocking type chair or just a comfy armchair? I know someone on here recently got the Aldi chair, but I'm really sorry, I can't remember who it was and now can't find the post!! 😂

MrsR16 · 15/11/2019 20:40

@Fivebyfive2 of course! It's a rocker that we got from John Lewis (when they had it on offer haha!) comes with the little stool and it's super comfy! I can see me spending lots of time sat there with Bub! I think it's nice to be able to rock back and forward (I've always loved to be able to move!) what else do you need to know?

Report
Fivebyfive2 · 15/11/2019 21:11

@MrsR16, I was looking at the John Lewis one! I like the thought of a big comfy armchair but also think something like yours would be nice because it rocks. Will continue the research 🤓

@Fivebyfive2 I definitely didn't pay £200 for it though! 😂

@Fivebyfive2 it was me with the Aldi rocking chair - not me with the swanky hotel though (I wish!!) x

@MrsR16 carpet looks lovely!! Nice of your DH to make a start on the furniture too, how exciting 😁 hehe I bet, you won't have to think about anyone for a loooong time! x

@BabySquid sorry I have no idea about GD - it's a pain the hospital didn't let you know though!! X

@MrsEG ooh how exciting! Nice that your nursery is coming along too - hope you get the cot placement sorted, I don't know how I'd do mine with two!! X

@purplefig I've not seen them 😭 so far all I know is Co-op, one stop and B&M sell them! (But I've never seen them in stock) ahhh third tri tomorrow!!! How fast has that gone! 😁 x

Getting my hair done tomorrow for the first time since July (well needed) and my brows!! I can't wait to start looking like me again, I'm ready to pop some makeup on and dress my bump up 😂

If anyone is interested - the Positive Birthing Company Postpartum pack is £10 until midnight!

@cupcakesandglitter aw thanks 😊 yeah, I was chuffed at how much DH had done! I bought the Postpartum Pack last night haha slowly working my way through the hypnobirthing course at the moment!

@MrsR16 haha when I’m sitting now I balance everything on bump, especially my cereal in the mornings!! The carpets look lovely - I just love that new carpet smell!
I think that’s the chair we are going for too!! It’s currently on offer at Pramworld @Fivebyfive2 :) Tutti Bambini? Keeping a close eye on it for a better deal again on Black Friday! I figure if I’m gonna be up all night feeding two babies I’ll be wanting a sit down haha!

@purplefig We’ve not put the car seats in yet - as we’re fitting too it means your seat can’t recline as much and I need that at the mo for my belly! So holding fire until I finish up with work and plan to become horizontal at home! Curtains are black out thermal ones from B&Q, the rug is a cute world map one :) A standing desk sounds wonderful; I may try and work from the kitchen counters next week! PGP is as regular as the NHS can do; privately I was told a weekly session should happen but NHS are doing every 3 weeks. So just trying to keep on top of my exercises at home! Enjoy the hotel!! Any special occasion?

@BabySquid Hey lovely, I don’t have GD that I am aware of yet! But a friend did, and she managed it entirely through her diet. Definitely worth chatting to the doctor about the options. I remember her being very sad about having to give up donuts haha, but with some diet swaps she had it under control. Have a fab weekend in Durham!

@cupcakesandglitter Yeah it’s been hard work placing two cots in one room! Think we’ve nailed it now though, I hope! Ooh have a good day of pampering!

Re; positive birth company stuff (thanks for the shout on the offer!) those who are using it - I can’t decide if I should or not? From talking to my consultant and after the hospital tour there are a lot of ‘ifs’ and ‘buts’ with a twin birth so I won’t have nearly as much choice as a singleton would. Even though a VBAC is still totally an option if babies are playing ball, I still can’t get in a pool or anything like that as both babies will need constant monitoring through labour. So I can’t decide if it would be useful - or would bum me out at listening to all the things I probably can’t do?!

Ahh yay @MrsEG glad you've got it sorted, I can't wait to see it 😁 no pampering for me unfortunately, my hairdresser isn't well so not happening today 🙁 hopefully she feels better soon! I'd still recommend the pack - I've not bought it yet because it goes on offer often, I'm hoping they'll go on offer for Black Friday! I'd have a follow of their Instagram, they post real life stories and there's some of women who had planned/unplanned c sections and they still rate the back because of the breathing techniques and the techniques used to make a decision and keep them calm, plus their partners found it useful too. Check their insta out 😊 I let you all know about it being £10 and forgot to order it myself 😂🤦🏻‍♀️

Morning ladies! Oddly DH and are were awake really early today (although I've been waking up about 5/6am last few days)

Had my hair done yesterday which I so needed had a good chop and pamper.

It's our 1st wedding anniversary today! I can't believe I married my best friend a year ago. Was the best day of my life I had a ball. Off to our wedding venue for dinner and overnight stay.

Was nauseous and dizzy yesterday but didn't keep on top of medication so I need to make sure I do.

Have the best weekend ladies lots of love Xs

Morning all!

I feel so lazy today, I think I’m fighting off this awful cold/flu thing flying between our offices at the moment so I’ve been particularly dizzy.

@MrsEG we’ve got the Motorola MBP855S in the basket skiing with the BP Smart Video baby monitor. Honestly, I’m still none the wiser towards either.
It’s SO adorable that you can rest things on your bump 😊 I feel I popped a bit more yesterday (probably didn’t happen in a day!) so hopefully I’m getting there!

@MrsH497 - Happy anniversary!! I hope you have a wonderful time. DH and I wanted to return to our venue on 16/03 for our anniversary but it’s 5 days before EDD and an hour into some countryside so I’m not sure if it’s a good idea or not 🧐

@purplefig - I don’t think it’s ever too early to treat yourself to a Belgian waffle! You sound like you’ve got an amazing weekend planned, and I can’t believe you’re headed into the 3rd trimester! Where has the time actually gone?
We got our Snuzpod3 ordered and then basically went to have some tea. Not the most productive shopping trip, but I was happy!

@cupcakesandglitter - an orange Twirl?! I think you’ve just unearthed a new Saturday challenge for me...find one 😂 x

Have a wonderful weekend ladies!
Bump is 22w today and I can’t quite grasp how quickly the time is flying!

@cupcakesandglitter Thank you! I have actually got the digital pack but keep avoiding listening to it in case it bums me out haha, I’ve totally made my peace with the fact I won’t have a water birth but perhaps I don’t want to listen to people discuss it, if that makes sense?! Perhaps I’ll try and sort through it for the c-sections and inductions and stuff! Oh what a shame about the hairdresser!!

@MrsH497 Happy Anniversary!

@ELW85 totally gonna go check those monitors out now haha! Ha, I used to wish for a big bump and now I wish it would slow down a bit!! It’s really sore this week; moisturising like crazy as I think it’s stretching skin as it’s so itchy too. No stretch marks yet but I’m starting to think they’re going to be inevitable! I actually have two maternity dresses that are now too tight 🙈 My sisters bump completely just popped out of nowhere at 21 weeks - I swear that happened overnight!! It is lovely seeing it grow though, I find it really reassuring :)

I’ve decided to sort through all the baby clothes we’ve been gifted today now the wardrobes are you and it’s making me feel very emotional!! I’ve had to stop twice and come downstairs to just collect myself! Bloody hormones!

@MrsEG - definitely check them out and let me know what you think! They’re on at the minute for about a £10 either side of each other, so I’ll see what Black Friday has to bring, haha!
Honestly, you and your bump look amazing! And I totally agree on the growth being reassuring 😊
Ah I don’t blame you for getting emotional looking at all of that; pregnancy is a journey at the best of times, but you’ve been through so much. Enjoy enjoying it, you completely deserve it!

@MrsEG I'd still recommend the hypnobirthing pack - it talks about the science behind birth and she fully appreciates that everyone has an idea birth that would be wonderful, but also talks about how to make the best decisions for you and your babies without feeling pressured.

@cupcakesandglitter oh no! As if you forgot to get it yourself! 🤦‍♀️ baby brain, huh?

Evening ladies, hope you're all doing well. I will catch up on this thread properly when I'm feeling a bit better - this week has been pretty awful for morning sickness - I feel pretty wiped out most of the time. Ahh happy anniversary @MrsH497 !! That year has flown super quickly, I remember when your wedding date was coming up! X

@ELW85 it's almost an impossible challenge, I've not found one yet. Popped into B&M and was told they're sold out as people were bulk buying them!! Hopefully you've missed that virus! X

@MrsEG definitely makes sense - hopefully you can easily skip it and get straight to the section stuff! Aww I bet!! Isn't it so cute seeing their small little outfits 🥺🥰

@MrsR16 definitely that and a lack of sleep 😂 hopefully I get a decent sleep soon and my brain will function a bit better.

Oh no @Larrydavid plenty of rest and minimal movement around the house!! Hope you feel better soon!!

Really proud of myself and DH today (okay mostly DH, I've spent 80% of the day on the sofa keeping him company) we moved stuff from the nursery into the spare room to completely clear it, and have stripped all of the layers of wallpaper ready to prep and prime tomorrow so we can get to painting! I'm so excited to see progress! Still haven't managed to shift the sofa yet but hopefully soon. So irritating as I've had loads of "is it available" messages on Facebook but then NO REPLIES AFTER?!

Happy Sunday everyone 😁😅

@ELW85 Oh thank you so much lovely, you’ll have me sobbing again! Had such an emotional day yesterday. For some reason I started trying to imagine the twins being passed to DH when they’re born - like, no one suggested this to me, I was essentially sat daydreaming - and I burst in to tears and didn’t stop for nearly an hour 🙈 How are you feeling at the moment, hows the bump looking?

@MrsR16 Thanks hun, I’ll give it a go then and see how I get on! The closer I get the more unprepared I feel for actual childbirth haha! How are you doing?

@MrsH497 Oh how lovely! Hope you managed to track down some non-alcoholic cocktails!!

@Larrydavid Sorry to hear you’re still feeling so sick! Take it nice and easy and try and nibble on something often if you can!

@cupcakesandglitter Some of it is just minuscule - we’ve been given a couple of ‘tiny baby’ size baby grows and they are so so small! I couldn’t cope!! Oh enjoy the nursery painting! We’re on the other side of it now, just need some shelves to be put up somewhere and I’m pretty much done! It’s such a weird feeling to see it all put together!

Happy Sunday folks - I’m struggling a lot with heartburn and reflux at the mo. Doesn’t appear to be any trigger other than it’s feeling worse at night, so it’s making it twice as hard to get to sleep! Off for a nice walk with DH and dog this morning to blown away the cobwebs. Also trying to find a nice maternity dress from somewhere for my baby shower as the one I got a while ago is now too tight on my belly - twin bump problems!! Hard work when it’s all online as you can’t try any of it on!

Hey all,

Ive been a bit rubbish at keeping up too, but (touch wood) my sickness is easing off so I feel a bit more human again! Gonna try get back into the loop on here :)

@Larrydavid sorry you're feeling so rubbish. It's hard. My one bit of advice is ice pops. They're my favourite thing to ease off the nausea. I tried sickness bands too and they helped.a bit but just made it super obvious at work so about 4 people worked it out 🤣

Got my 12 week scan on Tuesday and I'm so anxious/ excited. I've probably already told about 4 friends, but I would want them to know if the worst happened too.

Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday, were off to find a new (fake) Xmas tree 🎅

Morning all!

DH is on a Costa run and I’m tucked up in our festive bedding so feeling very pampered and much better than yesterday 😀
I did go on a random cleaning frenzy in the kitchen yesterday so maybe I’ve worked it out, haha!

@MrsEG - sorry to add to the emotions, but I mean every word! You’re a remarkable lady and when those little ones get put on yours and DHs chest, it’ll be the most wonderful thing in the world!
I’m feeling so much better thank you - and I’ve posted a bump photo to see what you think? He’s definitely had a little growth spurt! The festive bedding can be seen too, haha!
Enjoy the walk, and shopping. I agree online maternity shopping is hard. I’ve found H&M hardest to get right size wise, but I’m sure Seraphine have a sale on at the moment?

@MrsH497 - oh fantastic! The upgrade sounds wonderful and I hope you’ve had a lovely time!

@Larrydavid- take it easy, and hopefully you’re feeling loads better soon.

@cupcakesandglitter - I felt like Charlie Bucket trying to find them yesterday 😂 I ended up with crumpets instead so not quite the same...
Ooh exciting nursery progress! DH has a few days off soon to really make a start on ours.

@Lemonysherbet - enjoy tree shopping! We’ve bought a new one ready to go up on 1st Dec (I don’t think I’ll get away with it earlier!)
Good luck for Tuesday, but I’m sure you won’t need it. We’ve all had scanxiety (if it isn’t a word, it is now, haha!) so you’re not alone. The weeks will fly after it though!

Morning ladies! Currently having a lazy morning in bed. We were at BILs 40th birthday yesterday. So many of DH's extended family were there, so got many congratulations on our news, which was lovely! Although a distant aunt mentioned that I was looking very big already, although I know I'm hardly showing at times so that wasn't nice to hear.. some people have no tact 😕

Thanks everyone for the kind words about my starting bump though 😊

@MrsEG glad your scan went appointment went well and you got to hear the heartbeats again! I'm sure that never gets tiring.
I love your bump photos and it always looks so gorgeous, I'm sorry to hear the midwife said that. You'd have thought she'd understand to be sensitive at times!
How exciting that the nursery is coming together!! I got really teary eyed the other day when me and DH were doing some baby clothes shopping. It just makes it all feel so real and imagining them wearing it. Such an exciting time!
I've seen some nice dresses on ASOS maternity, but I know it is frustrating trying to figure out sizes online. They do free returns if that makes it easier?

@purplefig exciting that your pushchair has arrived!! I can't wait till we get ours. Although I also know our cats would be straight in there once it's up. We'll get good practice pushing them around 😂
Im glad you felt a lot better on Thursday. Don't apologise for having a down day. We're all allowed them and with the amount of hormones flowing through us it's bound to happen!
Your weekend plans sound amazing! I hope Christmas shopping went well yesterday and you enjoyed your night in the fancy hotel. I can't believe you're in the third trimester today! How exciting!

@MrsH497 I've definitely noticed my bump appears more in the evening and is really tiny during the day, so I'm sure food is playing a part 😂
Happy anniversary for yesterday! How lovely of the hotel to upgrade you - hope you're having a brilliant time! Glad the sickness has gone 😊

@cupcakesandglitter ah how lovely that we're so close in weeks :)
Well done on getting so much sorted of the nursery (even providing 20% of help is great, it's so easy to get tired right now!). I bet you can't wait to start painting. I'm debating whether to repaint the walls a different colour or just stick with wall decals. They're cream, which does go with our safari theme already.

@ELW85 ahh look at that bump 😍 gorgeous!
I'm really good thanks lovely, feeling a lot better these days and thankfully enjoying food again. Just itching for the next few weeks to fly past till our 20 week scan. I'm so excited to see baby again and hopefully find out what we're having!
Sorry to hear you had a tough day on Thursday (sorry I'm so slow at responding and catching up!). I hope you're feeling a lot better now?
Can't believe you're 22 weeks, how exciting! Enjoy the Costa!

@MrsR16 the new carpet looks so lovely! It's quite similar to what we have upstairs in our house. Also your rocking chair looks so comfy! I'm really hoping to find one with a stool for ours as well. I also imagine sitting there with baby, reading etc 😍
One week to go for work, so close!!

@Larrydavid sorry to hear you're still feeling so awful. I hope you've been able to relax and recuperate over the weekend at least.
Are you able to take some time off work to have time to yourself to relax?

@Lemonysherbet sorry I didn't respond back to you. I've been so rubbish at keeping up with things 🙈
How exciting that it's your scan on Tuesday! Definitely understandable to be anxious, but I'm sure everything will go well. Happy tree shopping!
I can't wait to get one and put it up. DH has said we're waiting till December, so I have to keep my excitement on hold for now 😂

I'm going to an early dinner at a friends later. She is an amazing cook, so I'm very excited 😁
Need to have a sort around the house first. Happy Sunday all!

Hi ladies! So yesterday I conquered the Christmas shopping, actually have managed to do almost all of it, except a few bits... And I pretty much stuck to our budget, which is impressive for me because I usually get really carried away getting people gifts!!

Todat we did some nursery decorating - we hung the canvases (without too much drama!) and put up some stickers on the wall where the cot will be 🙂 Just got to sort out some curtains, shelves and a clock /some nice photos now. It's all coming together!

Got a scan tomorrow, so will let you know how that goes!

@MrsEG, don't blame you for getting emotional, I think looking at the clothes and cots etc really hammers home... You'll have little people in those clothes soon!! It's amazing but also a bit scary! Xx

@MrsH497, happy anniversary!! Xx

@ELW85, fab bump! I don't know how you ladies take such good bump pics, I try and they always just look a bit odd or not very clear! Hope your Costa was tasty! Xx

@MrsR16 ooo carpet looks gorgeous! Glad to see pup approves 🤣

@BabySquid sorry about the GD, it's rubbish they didn't let you know sooner. I don't know much about it unfortunately, hopefully your midwife can advise?

@cupcakesandglitter ooo ok so I'll look next time in in coop. Deffo didn't have them in the Tesco I was in! How was your hair appointment? I love freshly waxed brows 💁🏼‍♀️

@MrsEG your nursery sounds lovely! And kitchen counters is a great idea for WFH standing desk. Can also lengthen laptop with stacks of cookbooks etc. You're doing better than me - totally forgot to do my exercises this weekend, tsk tsk!! FWIW I would 100000% recommend the positive birth company course - it's more about reframing the birth narrative and how to get into a good headspace, rather than a prescriptive "this is how to birth" guide. Loads of women that did it and went on to have interventions etc. said the course still helped them stayed focused, calm and feel in control. From what I remember (don't quote me!!!) I think she barely mentions water births?? The videos are all really short so easy enough to skip through any you don't want. And the FB community is just lovely, as are the relaxation mp3s and affirmations.

@MrsH497 happy wedding anniversary! Did you have fun celebrating? love the upgrades - very nice! 🍾

@ELW85 Sorry you're feeling rotten - cold season is extra pants when you can't even choke back a bloody lemsip!!! Gorgeous bump (and festive bedding 👌🏼).

@LokiCat you can't beat a lazy start! Try and ignore people's unhelpful comments about size (easier said than done I know). People just don't think! 🙄

@Fivebyfive2 excellent work on the Christmas shopping and nursery prep 💪🏼 how productive!

I've had a lovely weekend! Great Christmas shopping trip with my mum yesterday, nearly there now. Today has been a bit more low-key - just back from the food shop and soaking my back in the bath. Then I'm doing to do some food prep, making a relatives birthday cake (pb, caramel and choc 🤤) and then a slob in front of the new series of the crown. Does anyone else watch it? 👑 happy Sunday all! Oh I love the bump pics everyone’s really coming along now!! Here was the twins first thing this morning - such a rotten photo but DH likes me to get one first thing every Sunday as that’s when we tick over to a new week! 26 weeks today. Feel 46 haha!!

@Lemonysherbet Enjoy the 12-week scan, such a milestone! In my experience the nausea really eased around 13-14 weeks so fingers crossed, you’re almost over the worst of it!

@ELW85 Bump looks fabulous! I love the festive bedding!! Yeah I’ve found H&M tricky too - I’ll take a look at Seraphine though, I hadn’t even considered them for some reason!

@LokiCat Yeah the nursery is really coming together now; hopefully just one more IKEA trip to go ha! Hope you’ve had a lovely dinner with your friend :)

@Fivebyfive2 Nursery walls look lovely!! I think that’s it - I sometimes just cannot visualise the twins actually being here so when I look at the clothes and cots it’s often a bit overwhelming! Well done on nailing all the Christmas shopping!

@purplefig Right, I’m sold! I’ll get it properly downloaded tonight. I didn’t know there was a FB community either perhaps I’ll check that out for other twin mums/twin births! PB caramel and chocolate - oh my word, add some banana to that and it’s all my favourite things in a cake haha! I don’t actually watch the Crown but I love Olivia Coleman - is it worth me catching up first?! Bump looks absolutely wonderful!! I’m in my PJs too!

Happy Sunday eve ladies hope everyone is geared up for another week! One of my busiest meetings is over now so I’m hoping for a relatively quiet week. Had a lovely day today walking the dog and then to mums for a family Sunday lunch; home now, dressing gown on waiting for Attenborough!
