Getting a new one started before we are full! I’ll go back now and add people - answering everyone’s last posts here!!

@MrsR16 Nesting sounds like a good idea! Our house is such a mess at the moment mid-decorating and I cant wait for it all to be done so I can tidy!!

@BabySquid Fabulous bump! Glad you had such a brilliant time. I’m starting to think that pain sleeping is all just part and parcel of being pregnant now! At my yoga class everyone complains of it!

@Tropicana1 I’m sure there’s nothing to worry about!

@purplefig Yeah it was amazing to hear! Apparently IVF twins are more likely to be small but she never explained why. But yeah, induction is less likely for growth - it could still be needed for other reasons but it’s nice to have one of them off the list! How are you feeling, sleeping any better?

@ELW85 I did sleep a little bit better! I still woke up about 4:30 but slept all the way from 10 til then which is amazing! I feel like I’m slowly getting used to just being tired now! Glad you managed a better sleep!

@PippaPug Glad you got the radiator sorted! Yeah I’m amazed at how care changes from place to place but I think the main thing is as long as someone is seeing us at least once a month then that’s great!! How have you been feeling? I’m 24+4 today and really starting to feel uncomfortable now. My bump measured approx 32 weeks yesterday!! 32!!! She thinks they must be lying all at the front.

@cupcakesandglitter From doing some googling I think at the 28 week appt they’ll more start telling me what I can and can’t do in the birth - like start laying out all of my options? So I’m not gonna worry too much and wait to see what they say! My only ‘preference’ is everyone arrives happy and healthy and all are safe and well! I love the bong haha - how are you feeling today?

@PippaPug that's fantastic news!! Well done! They can't discriminate against you for being pregnant anyway, and it sounds as though you're onto a winner there 😊 I'm doing ok, baby's having a party! DH was super annoyed but thankfully we're all ok, which is the most important thing. This bloke just didn't even look to see what was coming, just swung out! 😡

MrsEG · 12/11/2019 14:02

@purplefig It really is like a second job doing baby research!! So pleased the physio went well today. A double wedding weekend! Could you even bank some babysitting offers and have the weekend off? I bet at 5 months you’ll be ready for it! Dependant on BF’ing etc of course.

@MrsR16 Ahh you have a lurcher, I love them! They’re such fabulous dogs. Enjoy the HV appt - I can offer no advice at all! All I know is everyone says don’t worry about the house being spotless as they really don’t care!!

@PippaPug well done you!! As you say being pregnant doesn’t make you any less capable :) not much more to buy at all now - powering through the shopping list! We got a second hand Peanut and Piglet pillow for £20, with a spare cover too! Yeah @ELW85 I should have probably specified I really want one with visual/video - my sister has a BT one and her screen broke within 5 months. I wish I could be relaxed enough to go for sound only but I just can’t haha!

@MrsEG this is my pooch! Highly stupid but just adorable 😊

ELW85 · 12/11/2019 19:12

Evening all!

@MrsEG - it’s absolutely awful that they haven’t solved things at work. But you are right, it won’t be your issue soon. That’s not a pass, you just unfortunately can’t solve everything!

I also want one with video - I have zero understanding of where to start though, so if @PippaPug and @MrsR16 can help with insight, that’s great! I’ll see if there’s a Which? Review maybe. So old, haha 😂

@PippaPug - congratulations on the interview!

@purplefig - oh god I had SUCH a panic today when the baby didn’t move until around lunch time. He’s gotten into a little rhythm so it freaked me out, but he’s happily kicking away again now.

I hope you’ve all had a lovely Tuesday? It took me an hour and a half to get home for what should have been a 20 minute journey (usually 45 mins with traffic).
So sleepy!

MrsEG · 12/11/2019 19:30

@MrsR16 😍 OMG what a beauty!!

@ELW85 Oddly when I’ve been asking around for advice on baby things, monitors are the thing that people feel most strongly about! Almost every one people have mentioned to me have had as many cons as pros. It makes me wonder if none are really ‘perfect’! We’re mainly thinking Motorola as the camera pans/swivels so will be able to see both cots. Although I don’t doubt there’s probably many others that do the same!
Oh what a nightmare - I didn’t manage to get a parking space at work today and had to park miles (probably barely 1 mile but still) away, waddling over with my laptop. Luckily I’m WFH tomorrow!

Just had a note that I have a midwife appointment on weds. I have no idea what she wants to see me for? I just had a scan and saw my consultant less than a week ago!

@Fivebyfive2 those canvases are lovely!

@MrsEG it really is getting much closer for you now! How exciting!

@purplefig I can't believe you're almost in your third trimester!

@cupcakesandglitter you've got a lovely bump! What a bargain on the coat! Glad you had a lovely date night too.

@PippaPug we went for a bugaboo chameleon 3 and got a bargain on eBay. We liked the way you can change the direction the handle faced so baby can face you/world without actually having to take the seat off the frame, and that by doing that you can also change the outward facing tyre size so it best suits the type of surface you're on.
Great news on the interview!

@BabySquid sounds like the nursery is really coming together now! Do you have a theme in mind?

@ELW85 we've decided to wait to get a baby monitor, not sure we will get much use out of it until baby is six months old and in their own room.

@MrsR16 sorry to hear about the bump in the car-glad you're ok.

Had a 38 week scan and consultant appointment today, baby is doing well, but we have planned an induction due to my health. So baby has a while to come on his own, but we also have a date to induce if he decides he's comfortable and doesn't start to make a move by himself.

purplefig · 13/11/2019 07:46

Morning all!

@MrsR16 ooo I didn't even know we met the HV before birth. What's the purpose of their visit? Keep us posted! Gorgeous pup 🐶

@PippaPug so glad it went well - fab outcome too! It certainly does feel like it's whizzing by - I'm feeling pretty good for the most part, my main issue is back pain but that seems quite common. Hoping my physio exercises will help. How're you feeling?

@MrsEG my mum would no doubt jump at the chance to babysit for the weekend...but no idea how I'll feel about that! 🤣 also planning to BF so unless they're fab at taking a bottle not sure how that'd work. But two weddings 6.5hrs apart in two days with a five month old in tow sounds insane. We shall see!! Strange about your random midwife appointment - can't think what that'd be for. Keep us posted!

@ELW85 it's hard isn't it?! They say dw about a pattern until 28 weeks but it's difficult if you've detected one early. I wouldn't say mine has a pattern really, I just feel them frequently throughout the day. They were going mental at yoga last night 🤣

@BostonFern you and me both - it's whizzing by 🙀. Sounds like they've got a good plan in place. Do you have a date for your potential induction?

Yoga last night was lovely! But just found out my new fab teacher is away the month before my due date 😭 luckily I live in a town that's not short of yoga studios so I'm sure I can find another class. I love this one though (if only for the Jaffa cakes 🤣). Have a good day all! X

MrsEG · 13/11/2019 08:14

@BostonFern I know, this day in 5 weeks is my last day in the office! I’m having to miss our Xmas do, consultant thought I’d be mad to go at 31 weeks (it’s a 30 min drive from home, in a very old building with only stairs.....) but I’ll make up for it at next years!!
Great news all was looking good at 38 weeks and you have an induction date! I bet it seems very real now! Are the bags all packed and ready to go?!

@purplefig Same, I think my mum wants to babysit from the word go!! Should’ve seen her face when I told her grandparents can’t visit if babies have to be in the NICU for a few days - it was like I’d punched her in the groin. It does sound like an intense weekend - when do you have to RSVP by? Glad yoga went so well! My weds class is cancelled this week but I’m going to try and do a bit myself on the mat at home as I’m stiff as a board this week!
Yeah I truly don’t know what on earth the MW could need or want to see me for!! Is a 25 week appt with the MW normal?! I just don’t even know anymore!

@ELW85 as @purplefig says mine don’t really have a pattern either at 25 weeks, even the consultant said they won’t move at the exact same time every day and it’s more about a pattern when they are moving - so if they’re usually good wrigglers they should always have a good wriggle when you feel them, if that makes sense?! I have one wriggler and one kicker!! But some mornings I wake up and they’re already going to town in there, others I wake and nothing until lunchtime!! I find if I’m moving about a lot more it must be sending them to sleep!

OP posts:
MrsR16 · 13/11/2019 08:51

@MrsEG he is quite a sweetie! 😂

@BostonFern how exciting you've got an induction date! Not long to go at all... let's hope he makes a move by himself first though 😊

@purplefig I have absolutely no idea what this visit is about! She's turning up tomorrow at some point between 9 and 12 and the appt's an hour long... I'll be cleaning the house tonight so she doesn't think that DH and I live in squalor! 😂😂😂

So, 35 weeks today... I need to finish packing my hospital bag really!

BabySquid · 13/11/2019 10:50

@BostonFern we're going with a dumbo theme, my FIL is doing a mural on one wall so we just need to get it painted grey and white first. When is your induction booked for?
Loving all the info on baby monitors, I never really thought about it enough.
@purplefig I'm also suffering with my back, mainly from this week which I think is down to being back at work and sitting constantly for 8 hours, not used to it after nearly 3 weeks off!!
@MrsEG it's cute that you have one wriggler and one kicker. 🥰
@MrsR16 keep us updated as to what the appointment is about.

So my work bump buddy is no longer a bump buddy, she brought her little girl in yesterday and I had the longest cuddle, she's just the sweetest. Made me so excited for mine to be here in hopefully just less than 13 weeks.
I'm meeting my potential mat replacement this aft, he was interviewed last week for the post but neither me or my manager were in so they didn't make the decision, managers still not in so it's in my hands 😬 bit nervous but I've been told he's nice and should be able to do the job.

cupcakesandglitter · 13/11/2019 11:48

Thankyou @ELW85 @MrsEG @purplefig @PippaPug @BostonFern

Congrats on the successful interview @PippaPug !!

Ahh @MrsEG how fab, it'll be lovely if the group is set up in time for your boys too!

@MrsR16 how cute is he 😭❤️

@ELW85 I know how you feel - there's just so many different ones!!!

@BostonFern Glad to hear that the baby is doing okay, and that you have an induction date in sight so the end is near! They'll be here before you know it 😁

@purplefig That's a shame about your yoga teacher, could you just do some pregnancy yoga at home (with some Jaffa cakes)? 😂

Ahh @BabySquid 13 weeks will fly by!! How exciting that you're getting so close too!!

purplefig · 13/11/2019 15:09

@MrsEG oh dear 🤣 at least she's a keen granny!! Not sure I'd cope if my mum wasn't down for some free childcare...ahem...I mean quality bonding time with the next generation!! Shame about your yoga class - there are some decent pregnancy friendly practices on YouTube. Does seem odd - what time is the midwife appointment at?

@MrsR16 does everyone get a visit from the HV?! I've never heard of it before (lol what's new 😅). How's the hospital bag looking?

@BabySquid sorry your back is playing up too - it's irritating but physio said super common. She stressed the best thing you can do is keep moving - so I'm using my sit / stand desk, taking tea breaks, getting up to stretch etc. Envious of your baby cuddles! I have so little experience being around babies I'm worried I'll be utterly hopeless once mine arrives.

@cupcakesandglitter HAHAHA what a good idea!!! One downward dog, one Jaffa cake. Love it. I will do some at home, but I do love a good class. There's a few in my area so sure I'll find something.

BabySquid · 13/11/2019 15:31

@purplefig I'm also clueless... I've never changed a nappy or soothed a crying bub, I'm hoping there are equally useless people on my antenatal classes so we can learn from scratch together haha

MrsEG · 13/11/2019 17:06

@MrsR16 I asked my sister about it today! She had a HV visit in the third tri - she said it’s all quite lovely, they ask how you’re feeling, what support you have nearby, any questions you have etc. They won’t look around the house at all and just sit in the living room with you :)

@BabySquid yeah it’s weird that they move slightly differently! Handy though as I’m slowly figuring out who is moving! For a while it was just a whirlwind in there!! That’s fab your replacement is lined up! We are interviewing for mine at the moment. Feels weird!

@cupcakesandglitter I hope so! We have our twins NCT workshop in 3 weeks too and I’ve been told two other couples are really local so that will be fab!

@purplefig Ha oh I am all about the free childcare!! My mum currently takes my niece one full day a week, and will also have her one full sat or sun a month so sis and BIL can go out - I am expecting nothing less than this haha! Got my midwife appt wrong, it’s not today it’s tomorrow (found out when I arrived at the GPs office..) at 11:40. Will report back! How’s your back feeling now?

OP posts:
LokiCat · 13/11/2019 17:46

Hi all! :) hope you're doing well. I'm away in Brighton this week for a training course! The training course is so dull but have had a lovely time walking around by the beach and the pier (although it is really windy here!!).

I probably won't be able to catch up on everything I've missed.

@cupcakesandglitter your bump is so cute! Mine has just started to take a little shape, especially in the evenings. It's so crazy to start seeing something there!
What an amazing bargain with the maternity coat!! I need to find one before we go off on holiday in December. It's supposed to be freezing in NYC!

@purplefig can't believe you're in the last week of your second trimester! Where has the time gone?! How lovely of your friend to give you some stuff. Definitely helps being given some stuff!
Glad things went well at physio and you've hopefully got a plan in place now to make you feel better!

@MrsR16 oh no, how scary that someone hit you guys! Glad you're okay!! Hope all goes well with the HV tomorrow. I wonder what it involves. Definitely update us :)
35 weeks today, not long!! Eeek how exciting 😁

@ELW85 I've been feeling so confused about baby monitors, as well! There's just so much choice! Me and DH have agreed to wait until baby goes into the nursery, as it'll most likely be around us for the first 6 months I imagine.
Sorry to hear you had such a hectic time getting home yesterday! Hope today has been a lot more relaxed.

@MrsEG the twin mum you met sounds lovely! How nice of her to be so welcoming and also that group sounds like it'll be a godsend if it gets set up!
I have a 25 week appointment with the midwife, as well, in January. I've just checked on the NHS website and it says that it is standard if this is your first baby. Mines just before the GTT which will be the week after.

@PippaPug glad everything went well at the interview and hope it all goes well at the trial, congrats!

@BostonFern glad all went well at your 38 week scan! Not long to go!

17 weeks yesterday! I'm trying to see if I can feel any movements, but don't think I've experienced any yet.. although my midwife did mention it could feel like bubbles and be easily confused for wind, so there is that! I just can't believe I'm already at the point where I might start feeling down movement soon, it's so surreal!
We checked out Mothercare over the weekend and got some really cute clothes!

I wanted to ask - is there any issue with getting a second hand next to me crib? I've been looking on Facebook marketplace for a Snuzpod, but wasn't sure if it's unsafe to get a used one? I will be getting a new mattress, protector and sheets to go with it!

Have a lovely evening all x

MrsEG · 13/11/2019 17:54

@LokiCat Oh fab! I just found it so odd given I had so many appointments already next week! Perhaps they just want to give me the once over too! We got second hand Moses baskets - absolutely fine, just replace the mattress as you say. If you can get the instructions too then do, just in case you need to dismantle etc - but they are often easily found online! Happy 17 weeks! I didn’t feel much before 20 weeks. I really did confuse it with gas a lot at first! Like little tickles, then kinda like bubbles popping. Now 25+3 and they literally crawl across my belly haha, it’s amazing how quickly it develops!

OP posts:
Fivebyfive2 · 13/11/2019 18:27

@MrsEG, I had a 24 week mw apt, was in there all of 10 mins as I recall! Omg my mum will also be wanting to come over all the time to see the baby! I'm quite looking forward to it as we're close but I did have a laugh with dh the other day, she made a comment like 'after the baby comes, we'll see loads of each other'... It sounded vaguely ominous 😂Hope your appointment goes OK tomorrow xx

@BabySquid, ha ha you should have seen me at our NCT class last week, changing a nappy on a doll, it was hilarious! The funniest thing was, the women were kind of just blagging it, not being Overy careful with these dolls... All the men were handling them like real babies, it was really funny to see 🙂

@MrsR16, how'd it go with the health visitor? Your dog is gorgeous as well! Xx

@lokicat, I think as long as you go with a new mattress it's fine to get 2nd hand, helps with the budget! 🤓

@Bostonfern, that's good they've got a plan in place for induction. How are you feeling? Xx

So I'm starting the Christmas shopping! Got some bits off amazon and going to Birmingham with my mum on Saturday. I'm determined to have it all done early. I need to get dh some slippers, as our cat was sick in his this evening 😂☹️ Exactly one month until my last day at work... Finishing Fri 13th Dec, I can't believe how quickly it is coming round!

Happy Mid Week all! 😀

cupcakesandglitter · 13/11/2019 18:42

@purplefig can I suggest the Jaffa cakes anyway? 😂😋

@MrsEG that's fab!! You're so on the ball with this stuff, I've not booked anything yet 😂

@LokiCat ahh it's exciting isn't it!! I'd definitely recommend H&M if you manage to get your hands on that parka, well worth it! I can't believe you're 17 weeks already! I don't see any issue with getting a second hand one, mine snuzpod is! - just a brand new mattress and covers etc like you've said and there should be no issues 😊 (don't take my word for it, could be worth double checking with a midwife but I'm sure from what I've read it's the mattress that's the important bit)

MrsR16 · 13/11/2019 18:54

@BabySquid I will do, don't worry!! 😊

@cupcakesandglitter aw thanks 😊 he is a little (big) sweetheart and just so adorable! But I'm obviously biased haha

@purplefig I think everyone gets a HV appt! I'm hoping they're not singling me out haha! 😂 hospital bag is still not finally packed... I'm going to try and have a productive evening tonight and get it done. Although I got completely overwhelmed when I packed the first bit! DH came home and I was in tears 😂

@MrsEG ooh that's great to know! Thank you, lovely 😊 that's helped!

@LokiCat ooh hope you're having fun in Brighton! I'll keep you guys updated for sure 😊

@Fivebyfive2 HV appt's tomorrow! I'm gonna be cleaning like god knows what tonight hehe! And aw thanks! I think he's adorable 😂 that's exciting that you're finishing a month today! Not long after me...

BostonFern · 13/11/2019 19:20

@purplefig @BabySquid we do have a date for next week, keeping it quiet as much as possible though so we don't get inundated with messages. Feeling a mixture of nerves and excitement now, also like I need a plan of what I need to get done before we go in!

@MrsEG bags have been packed for weeks, just in case we needed them. Now I think I need to add to them to take into account I won't be going in with a spontaneous labour!

@MrsR16 make sure you pack lots of lovely snacks!

@BabySquid that's a lovely theme!

@LokiCat I think as long as you get a new mattress there's nothing wrong with a second hand crib.

@Fivebyfive2 not long until you start mat leave now, it'll be here before you know it with all the Christmas preparations!

My midwife tried a sweep today, cervix is still to far back but she could feel the baby's head!

PippaPug · 14/11/2019 07:37

@MrsR16 - Although legally they can’t because it’s such a personal job, you tend to get discriminated for anything and if they don’t want you because your pregnant, they will give some other excuse - it’s happened far to often to my very good nanny friends who are excellent at their jobs! I half think I’m having a trial because she is unsure if I will cope with the job - but maybe that’s just me being cynical! How are you? How did your midwife visit go? V v normal - they just want to cheek that you and baby will be safe when you get home - and not vulnerable and that your happy/safe relationship and your home is safe for a baby.

@MrsEG - We have the same pillow and also paid the same price, I am intrigued to see how this pillow helps, I don’t normally see breastfeeding pillows this firm!
We want a monitor with a camera too, and ideally you can attach another camera to it if we separate the twins in different rooms at some point in the future. Not sure to wait though as not sure how much use we will get for the first few months! How’s your back/hip pain?

@ELW85 - I really like the BT monitors, worked mainly with just audio but the videos are good - you do need to take account of how big your house is and how thick your floors/walls are - most houses are fine but some houses where I have been 6 floors away from the children the baby monitors aren’t as good! How are you?

@BostonFern - that’s a fantastic idea that the buggy can do that, I hope your very pleased with it! Not long for you now!

@purplefig - yes back pain is sadly common, although so far I have just had more twinges then anything which has lasted to long! Have your exercises helped at all?

@cupcakesandglitter - Thank you! How are you feeling?

@LokiCat - Thank you! Nothing wrong with a second hand crib, just need mattress for sure, I’m pretty sure it mentions it on the lullaby trust about safe sleeping and buying a new mattress. Really exciting you could feel movement very soon, I didn’t feel movement for sure till I was 20 weeks and 3 days, I think I did feel it before but I didn’t realise what it was!

@Fivebyfive2 - haha changing a nappy on a doll is so much harder then a baby! (Maybe easier then a toddler running away from you 😂) how are you doing?

I’m heading back into London for my trial, not sure how I’m feeling about it - I’m away tonight which never helps my feelings but if I get this it’s a part job which is just 3 days a week which will be perfect. As I hate being late I have ended up leaving a hour earlier 🙄 so got the slow train, had my baby on board badge on, ready to ask for a seat if I needed it....for on the train and the carriage was empty 😂 I’m sure on the tubes I will need it however! Hope everyone is having a good start to Thursday ☺️

purplefig · 14/11/2019 09:24

@BabySquid yes I'm so glad I'm going to NCT - hoping to pick up lots of common sense baby advice.

@MrsEG I think given the price of childcare, it's a pretty reasonable way to feel! Hope your MW appointment goes OK. Did yoga help with your aches? My back is OK, it gets sore every day but I'm able to manage it with stretches / hot water bottle / a million pillows at night.

@LokiCat yeah it was very generous of them, they just asked us what was on our list and we were like list, what list?! Grin. FWIW I didn't feel any movements until after my 20 week scan, which the sonographer said is pretty common. Though I did have lots of digestive-like feelings, which looking back could of been the baby.

@Fivebyfive2 I've started Christmas shopping too - like you I'd like to get it all done ASAP.

@cupcakesandglitter um, yes, always. Always down for a jaffa cake!

@MrsR16 Oh yeah I'm sure they're not singling you out Grin - I just meant that I hadn't heard of it, but I haven't heard of so much in the land of pregnancy and parenting!

@BostonFern that's a good idea - otherwise you'll get flooded with well meaning but irritating texts. So exciting you get to meet them so soon though!

@PippaPug Oooo I hate twinges - I only get them when I've overdone it. Normally it's just an overall ache. The exercises do help relieve it a bit, but it's all pretty temporary - I'm getting it most days now. Ooo a part time job sounds perfect! All the best for the trial (and the underground)!

I've woken up in a bit of a grump today! Just feeling pretty uncomfortable and very aware I still have a whole other trimester to go. I'm also struggling to ask DH for more help than usual, which is mad because he is the kindest person I know and is constantly asking me what I need etc. Also (!!!) I have already had enough of work - I'm just struggling to care about it at the moment, and being tethered to a desk is just so uncomfortable. I don't think this dismal grey weather and constant rain is helping either. Right - rant over! Grin Hope you're all feeling brighten than I am! x

MrsR16 · 14/11/2019 09:26

@PippaPug it's so silly isn't it? I'm at home waiting for the HV now - expecting her any time between now and 12! 😂 I'm doing ok, making the most of having a relaxed morning before the onslaught of work later on. Cuddles with the dog are in order! Xx

PippaPug · 14/11/2019 09:42

@purplefig - sorry you have woken up in a bit of a funky mood! Your just a bit ahead of me aren’t you? I understand how you feel, sometimes I don’t want to ask DH for help even though I know he wouldn’t mind in the slightest! This morning he did my shoelaces up as I had just eaten breakfast and if I bent over I would of been sick! He didn’t even bat a eyelid but I felt so silly! I have been off for a month as no jobs are suitable so I’m hoping this mum thinks I can do the job (because I know I can!) I’m just sitting in costa killing time now, overground was a bit hairy - couldn’t get a seat but then I lost my balance and quite a few people helped me not fall over and then someone saw my BoB badge and gave me their seat, which was very gratefully received ! And yes this weather is not helping - I seriously hate this weather and semi timed having a baby towards the summer months (I find it easier with the dark mornings) we would of obviously continued to TTC even if baby would of been born in the winter but I think I suffer slightly with SAD so was trying to avoid it if possible, We just didn’t think it would happen so quickly (and before the wedding!)

@MrsR16 - I guess majority of people are in a good relationship and have good support but there are a few who sadly aren’t, and some people are in denial about having a baby and not have anything ready yet - it’s just for them to work out of someone needs any extra support or not and I think your more likely to get a home visit for your first. I wonder if I will get one as I don’t have a community midwife now, just one who is based at the hospital.
How many weeks are you now? Enjoy your restful morning!

Has anyone else been told that you won’t be able to come out of hospital unless the midwife see the baby in the car seat which is bought up to the maternity unit? I know it’s just a myth - but it could really scare some women! Our car seats are designed to stay in the car - there is no way DH could carry them both down to the car with the babies strapped in safely (and I’m sure I won’t be in a fit state to carry them!) but I have been told this from a few friends - thankfully I know it’s false, but just incase any of you hear that, it’s not true!

MrsEG · 14/11/2019 10:26

@Fivebyfive2 My mum is the same! ‘Oh I’ll be here every day...’ - I think I need to set a few boundaries haha! Well done on the Xmas shopping! We don’t buy much at all anymore, just need to find something Peppa Pig related for my niece and I’m done!

@cupcakesandglitter Hah, I’ve tried to get as much booked and done before Christmas as I possibly can so then I can just put my feet up!

@MrsR16 Hope all goes well today :)

@BostonFern Any movement post-sweep? I know what you mean about hospital bag, I think I’ll be in a few days at least - we’re going to leave a second bag at home for DH to come and grab if we need extras!!

@PippaPug the woman we bought the pillow off said it was a godsend! So fingers crossed! Good luck on the train today, and the tube! Hope it all goes well. We’ve been told the midwives will check baby is being transported home safely so they may come with you to the car, have a look at your pram, etc. I don’t think it’s specific to car seats at all :) But that’s just what I’ve been told at the hospital - even if you choose to take baby home in a sling and walk, they’ll just have a quick look to make sure all looks safe!

@purplefig my pain is the same every day now; the exercises ease it but sleep is still hard to come by and first thing I am stiff as a board! I so, so know what you mean. I am 26 weeks this weekend and I feel enormous. I’m really physically starting to struggle - can’t walk the dog alone as I can’t bend to pick up his poops, can’t tie my laces. DH helps but given his job he isn’t always around! And I’ve completely checked out of work. Less than 5 weeks to go, I’ve got a massive ‘this won’t be my problem soon so I don’t care’ vibe going on!

Happy Thursday! Off to the community midwife shortly. Checked my notes and treatment pathway and it does look to be the standard catch up. Hope I get to hear some heartbeats again! My current obsession is nursery decorations, now all the furniture is built - does anyone know if wall stickers will stick over wallpaper?! Also, our car seats arrived yesterday! So exciting!
