Getting a new one started before we are full! I’ll go back now and add people - answering everyone’s last posts here!!

@MrsR16 Nesting sounds like a good idea! Our house is such a mess at the moment mid-decorating and I cant wait for it all to be done so I can tidy!!

@BabySquid Fabulous bump! Glad you had such a brilliant time. I’m starting to think that pain sleeping is all just part and parcel of being pregnant now! At my yoga class everyone complains of it!

@Tropicana1 I’m sure there’s nothing to worry about!

@purplefig Yeah it was amazing to hear! Apparently IVF twins are more likely to be small but she never explained why. But yeah, induction is less likely for growth - it could still be needed for other reasons but it’s nice to have one of them off the list! How are you feeling, sleeping any better?

@ELW85 I did sleep a little bit better! I still woke up about 4:30 but slept all the way from 10 til then which is amazing! I feel like I’m slowly getting used to just being tired now! Glad you managed a better sleep!

@PippaPug Glad you got the radiator sorted! Yeah I’m amazed at how care changes from place to place but I think the main thing is as long as someone is seeing us at least once a month then that’s great!! How have you been feeling? I’m 24+4 today and really starting to feel uncomfortable now. My bump measured approx 32 weeks yesterday!! 32!!! She thinks they must be lying all at the front.

@cupcakesandglitter From doing some googling I think at the 28 week appt they’ll more start telling me what I can and can’t do in the birth - like start laying out all of my options? So I’m not gonna worry too much and wait to see what they say! My only ‘preference’ is everyone arrives happy and healthy and all are safe and well! I love the bong haha - how are you feeling today?

@Fivebyfive2 Oh that’s so great to hear the section went so well! Great news. If it’s working for you I’d say definitely invest in a pump - we have one ready and waiting! Hope you’ve managed to be discharged over the weekend?

@MrsR16 Sorry to hear about the meltdown! Glad to hear DH is helping you though :) It’s bound to be tough those early weeks - I’m expecting many a meltdown myself!

@TrashKitten10 Ah so lovely to hear Daisy is doing so well and growing like crazy it sounds! Ha that’s so true - for a tiny human that poops, pees and vomits so much you think they’d be okay with being cleaned haha!

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend. I finally have my bag packed! I haven’t managed to source a mini fan yet but I’ll grab one on Amazon. I’m so shattered today; so, so excited that Weds is my last day at work!!

Morning all... so we've had a whirlwind Sunday again... started contracting at 6am yesterday, came into hospital at 9:45 and was 7cm!!! They had to give me something on drip to help the baby being so early, which slowed down contractions... gave me another drip at 1:30 this morning... and baby came at 2:28am weighing 3lb 8oz bang on 32 weeks!!!! I was scared but all is ok... so here we have our very little girl, still undecided on a name, but here she is and I'm absolutely in love.

Fivebyfive2 · 16/12/2019 04:22

@BabySquid, omg bless her! So glad she is doing OK. I can't believe the influx of babies on this thread recently!!

Xx

Fivebyfive2 · 16/12/2019 04:36

Also, quick update... We're doing OK mostly. Things Joe likes - cuddles, food, being walked around and shoen/told things, sleeping on us or any surface other han his moses or snuzpod 🙄😂😕 This makes the days OK and the nights... Interesting!! Seeing a midwife about feeding tomorrow (today?!) as he's got the hang of latching but we're a bit all over the place with him having a mix of boob, expressed and formula (from when he couldn't latch at first) I have also developed a reasore right boob tonight, can feel little lumps underneath which I'm pretty sure isn't great!

Hope everyone has a good Monday! Xx

MrsR16 · 16/12/2019 06:43

@BabySquid oh wonderful news!!! She was not hanging around for anyone was she? Keep us updated with her progress 😊 I hope you're doing ok!

@Fivebyfive2 great to see you and Joe are doing ok, lovely 😊 I hope you can get some productive help with the feeding

@MrsEG good for you on the bag being packed! And I'm excited for you to finish work 😊

Lemonysherbet · 16/12/2019 06:47

Oh huge congratulations @Fivebyfive2 and @BabySquid

I've only been off here a few days! How are you both feeling? There really has been a sudden influx. I hope everyone is ok xx

purplefig · 16/12/2019 09:23

@BabySquid congratulations! So glad to hear you're both doing well ❤️ what a little trooper. She's clearly a fan of Christmas already!! How're you feeling lovely lady and ex due date twin??

@MrsR16 thanks for your updates they're so helpful! Deffo at the struggling to roll over in bed stage 🤣

@MrsEG well done for powering through your epic NCT session! How did bag packing go? I've spent the weekend trying to reframe the narrative re: the results. As much as I like JC I appreciate a lot of people don't, so I think the next five years give the party a good chance to get a more broadly appealing leader in place and actually act like a decent opposition. In even better news...it's so exciting mat leave is so soon for you! Bet you're so ready for it.

I'm 32 weeks today and feeling it! 😅 working on getting into a positive mindset as aware I theoretically have another 8-10 weeks to go. Looking at newborns meeting dogs on YouTube certainly helped! Think I'm struggling with not doing much beyond work...it's a bit boring. But it seems so easy to overdo it and end up in pain with my back. Right I'll stop whining now!! x

MrsEG · 16/12/2019 10:38

Oh wow!! So many babies not willing to hang about til Christmas at the moment!! Congrats @BabySquid she looks beautiful - are you on neo-natal for a while, or is she doing fine on her own? I’ve been reliably informed the staff on those wards are the best in the country. Hope you are all doing brilliantly!

@Fivebyfive2 Do you have a sling or baby carrier? A friends baby would only sleep on her so she would sling baby and walk around the garden at night to send her off, then transition her to Moses basket. She said it was a faff but worked!! Take it all in your stride anyway - he could have a totally different fave place to sleep in a weeks time! Hope the appt today goes well :)

@MrsR16 Me too, very excited! Are you all ready for Christmas now with the little one?

@purplefig SO ready!! Yep it feels good to have the bag finally sorted! Yeah I agree - I’m a fan of JC but I can see why he divides people so much (not to mention the picture painted of him by much of the press). It’s just such a shame - I survived a Thatcher Britain, I didn’t think my own kids would have to go through similar! I bloody cannot stand Boris at all! Sorry to hear about the back pain but I think you’re right - take it easy, get some box sets and books on the go!

Had my dermatology appt this morning to check the mole everyone went wild about a few weeks ago - benign, no signs of melanoma and I was immediately discharged :) Some good news to kick start the week! I’m in agony at the moment but I am every day and weirdly I’m used to it now. I think the idea it won’t be for much longer, and I don’t have to worry about work after weds, is making it easier! Sleeping is impossible, truly just doesn’t happen but going to ask my consultant for some advice (I read one woman online saying when her PGP got bad she slept in the bath!!) when I have my growth scan on Weds. feeling loads of pressure low in my pelvis the last 24 hours too - wondering if a twin may have flipped?! I can but hope! Have good weeks all, especially all of our new mums!!!

Baby squid huge congratulations hope you're ok x

LokiCat · 16/12/2019 13:05

Hi all! Ahh so amazing to see all the babies on the thread now!

@BabySquid huge congratulations! She is beautiful. Glad to hear it went well. I hope you're both doing okay?

@Fivebyfive2 congratulations on little Joe, he is gorgeous! I hope the appointment with the midwife goes well re feeding. The cuddles must be so lovely 😊

@MrsR16 lovely to read your updates with Ethan! Sounds like you've been doing brilliantly and it's great that your DH has been so amazing as well. Glad to hear you're recovering well as well.

@TrashKitten10 so great to read that you and Daisy are doing well! Wow, that's amazing how fast they grow! I've just been looking at second hand clothes bundles online; thinking it may be better to go for the 3-6 months rather than 0-3 months. I can't wait for some snuggles, they must be amazing 🥰

@PippaPug oh if you have the link on hand, that would be great thank you! We'll be in any for 5 nights, will get back just before NYE. I unfortunately have to be back at work, otherwise would have loved to spend NYE there as well (although it's probably for the best since it can get so busy there!).
Glad to hear you're doing well. I hope the scan goes well today. It'll be so nice seeing them again! That's great that the mum has been understanding about finishing up before Christmas. Definitely a sensible idea for you and the babies. Enjoy your last week at work (I hope the trains aren't too bad!).

@MrsEG that's brilliant that you got the all clear and have been discharged now! Sorry to hear you've been in so much agony. I hope the consultant is able to offer some useful tips.
Sounds like you're all ready to go with the bags packed! I've just put a mini fan on my list after you've mentioned it. I get hot very easily so will definitely be needing that!
Enjoy your last few days at work :)

@purplefig happy 32 weeks!! Newborns meeting dogs must be so cute to watch 😍
It is definitely difficult to take a step back when you're so used to constantly being on the go. Could you take lots of breaks in between, whilst doing what you normally to make sure you don't over do it?

@MrsH497 glad to hear you felt better over the weekend! I think we'll most likely be getting a a second hand Snuzpod (I've seen quite a few on Facebook market place so will probably get one around Jan/Feb).

Sorry if I missed anyone!

So went maternity clothes whooping yesterday with mum. Got some good bits in H&M (including the comfiest leggings) but it's a shame the options in stores are so limited. Being short, I prefer trying clothes on (especially jeans!) before buying, but I hardly saw any jeans options.

Had some annual leave to use up that I couldn't carry over, so have booked today and tomorrow off from work! Enjoying a day of relaxing (especially since I can feel her move more then 🥰).

I hope you all have a lovely Monday 😊

MrsR16 · 16/12/2019 16:05

@purplefig you're welcome! I'm more than happy to try and answer any questions if you have them! You're allowed to whine on here - you know we don't judge 😊 are you all packed ready just in case?

@MrsEG I haven't even thought about Christmas! 😂😂 I think this year will be a bit strange... but next year, Ethan will be old enough to really enjoy it without knowing what it's all about, bless him! I'm glad you got the all clear - that's a relief!

@LokiCat we're certainly getting there 😊 we're still learning lots about each other! But he does love his sleep at night, which I will be forever grateful for! Yay for maternity wear shopping! It's so exciting!! I now don't fit into my maternity stuff... 😕 but I'm not so back in shape that I can wear my pre-mat trousers without being uncomfortable. I live in DH's trackies or pj bottoms at the moment! 😂

purplefig · 16/12/2019 16:42

@MrsEG I love your attitude, it's honestly so inspiring. I'm going to channel you going forwards...all the aches and pains are not for much longer. So relieved everything is OK with the mole, what a lovely, positive start to the week. Totally agree re: the press, but I do also get from speaking with people that the whole momentum stuff rubbed people up the wrong way and so I would like to see the party move a bit more to the centre if only so they are more likely to be elected next time! I can't stand Boris either, but the silver linings I've gleaned are: he is hugely indebted to a lot of previously labour supporters, so I hope he'll try and keep them sweet by not going with a Cameron style austerity agenda. He's a bit of a chameleon, so I can see him doing whatever it takes to be popular / keep hold of power. The other silver lining, I think, is that given he now has a 'stonking majority' they'll have absolutely nobody to blame but themselves if Brexit doesn't turn out to be the land of dreams and magic they've sold it as.

@LokiCat Glad you had some luck shopping for maternity in store, agree it's pretty limited! As a fellow short pregnant woman, I've had the best luck with my usual style of jeans (the petite leighs from Topshop). I got mine secondhand on ebay for under a £10 and they haven't had much wear. I will say though, I need a belt with them or they fall down! And for that reason, I am a huge legging convert now Grin. Ooo lovely - enjoy your annual leave.

@MrsR16 thanks lovely! I'm not packed yet, but will be packing this week as we're away for a week over Christmas so not being prepared might be 'tempting fate' as my mum would say! Luckily it's only 45 mins from the birth centre. Re: Christmas next year, I got a bit emotional the other day when someone pointed out the baby will probably be eating it's own little mini roast dinner...too cute!!

Have a lovely evening everyone! x

MrsEG · 16/12/2019 20:58

@LokiCat Bet you can’t wait for your holiday now! Oh god yes, a fan is a must - the wards are so warm!! There’s some really good ones on Amazon! Maternity clothes shopping is so hard as it’s all online. I did find New Look and Boohoo very cheap and a good fit! Leggings are a must too, I’ve basically lived in mine!

@MrsR16 I think you can be completely forgiven for Christmas this year!! Ahh it’ll be so wonderful for you next year - I can’t wait to start experience Christmas through children’s eyes!! Saying that - my niece met Santa yesterday... she was not happy haha! At least my sister now has the classic ‘daughter screaming on Santa’s lap’ photo!!!

@purplefig I think the fact I don’t have to work much longer has helped! But I definitely find that just telling myself this pain is only temporary helps when I am slug-rolling myself off the sofa!! Yep I totally agree with everything you’ve said! Looking forward to seeing who the new leader will be next year.

OP posts:
purplefig · 17/12/2019 05:33

@MrsEG yes that makes total sense and I think it's the only sane way to get through it really! I'm reminding myself of that as I've been in the office working since 5am as can't sleep...oh well....afternoon nap it is Grin

MrsEG · 17/12/2019 10:23

@purplefig Oh you poor thing! Could you have a mid-afternoon bath? I did yesterday and it was glorious! Just a few more weeks of it now!!

OP posts:
purplefig · 17/12/2019 10:33

@MrsEG do you know what...I shall be doing exactly that! Did you sleep any better last night?

MrsEG · 17/12/2019 10:40

@purplefig I ended up having a bit of a meltdown last night - went to bed at 9:30, woke up with my usual pains so got up, walked down the landing to loosen up as per, got back in to bed and went to check the time (my first wake up is usually around 2/3)... and it wasn’t even midnight 🥺 Lets just say it was a very long night! At about 4am I was Googling ‘safe sleeping sitting up’! I did manage to be awake for an absolute twin party though at 4-ish, they were absolutely going to town - so that was fun!! How was your night? Enjoy the bath!! I’ve been stocking up on books recently as I feel like I’ll be living in the bath the next few weeks!!

OP posts:
MrsR16 · 17/12/2019 10:53

@purplefig to be fair, I didn't finish properly packing my bag until we were about to leave the house! 😂 definitely be more organised than me! I'm so looking forward to next Christmas - mini roast dinner will be awesome! As sad as it is, wishing the year away. Ethan's already growing far too quickly for my liking! Weighed in yesterday at 7lb 12oz, so is piling the weight on now. My mum also measured his length and he's 20in!

@MrsEG I really want to go somewhere to get a picture of Ethan with Santa! I'll have to do a bit of digging and see where's around here... I'm sorry to hear you're having a really bad time with the PGP! As you say though, it'll all be worth it when your little ones are here 😊

purplefig · 17/12/2019 13:48

@MrsEG oh my god that sounds miserable. How are you managing to function in the day?! God I am so excited in your behalf for Wednesday maternity leave countdown!!! You're doing so, so, so well. Those boys of yours will be here before you know it and your clever body will heal. One of the girls in my NCT group has suspected PGP and I immediately thought of you - she's going to see a physio ASAP.

@MrsR16 hahah nothing like an impending deadline to motivate you to finish packing right? 🤣 oh yes plenty to look forward to throughout the year. I can't wait to take them swimming in spring! Great to hear he's thriving - take loads of photos and vids so you remember that he was actually a squishy newborn 💕

MrsEG · 17/12/2019 14:31

@MrsR16 You have to get a snap!! At least he’s a lovely sleepy newborn now so he may just snooze in Santa’s arms for a photo!!! 7lb 12 - amazing! Piling on those lbs!! You’re right - it’ll all be worth it when babies are here!

@purplefig To be honest I don’t function so well in the day! Hitting my wall now - bath is being run! I’m very pleased that I’ve already done my work handover as my brain isn’t on all cylinders!! I’m just relaxing and napping as much as I can in the day. My consultant told me twin pregnancies are classed as ‘extreme’ and boy do I know it haha! My bump is enormous! Are you all excited for your Christmas break next week? I’d love to do that one year, all hire a cottage and get everyone together - I bet it really takes the pressure off one person hosting!

OP posts:
LokiCat · 17/12/2019 14:45

Hi all :) hope you're well.

@MrsR16 I'm sure you're still learning new things every day about him. What an exciting time! Amazing that he does love his sleep at night, I hope it continues!
Haha oh no, I imagine that in between stage must be so difficult. I've been living in DH's T-shirt's whilst lounging around at home. He's a foot taller than me, so it's definitely a lot more comfier than my stuff 😂

@purplefig yeah, the one pair of maternity ASOS jeans I have are constantly slipping down. I got under the bump ones, which was probably a bad idea. I'm sure I'll be living in my new leggings now though!
Sorry to hear you didn't get much sleep. I hope the mid afternoon bath helps!

@MrsEG I'm so excited for the holiday. I need a break from work! I'm already counting down till maternity leave and I still have about 3 months to go (it's crazy typing that!).
Sorry that you had such a terrible night, how awful! I'm glad your last two days at work are pretty easy at least. I definitely wouldn't be able to function at all!

Popped into Primark this morning to get some thermals for our trip and found the cutest fleece onesie for the little one. I'm a little penguin obsessed, so I had to buy it. I'm already imaging her wearing it 😂

Catching up with TTC #1, thread 8!
MrsR16 · 17/12/2019 14:57

@purplefig the funniest thing was that DH decided that 1am on the morning Ethan was born was a good time to rearrange the bedroom! 😂 I'm taking so many pictures it's unreal... especially with DH being back at work, I send him pictures all the time!

@MrsEG he certainly is! Still doesn't look like a real chunker though - he's just perfect! Only 1 more full working day for you! I'm super excited for you to finish work 😊

@LokiCat oh yes, it's just amazing how much he's doing every day! It is really awkward not fitting in anything! Another PJ day today! Haha!

Larrydavid · 17/12/2019 19:32

Hello! Hope you're all winding down for Christmas - I have a couple of things to finish this week then I am off until the middle of Jan (or at least taking it a bit easier with work!). I'm bracing myself for Christmas - we're hosting 14 people. I'm excited but also may pull the pregnancy card when things get full on!

I had my 16 week appointment today (it was a bit earlier because of Christmas) - I saw a doctor as they were worried about my cervix being weak. I had no conclusion but I'm having a new type of screening scan in Jan that should be able to tell if there's a problem. Hopefully there won't be! The idea of getting my cervix stitched 🙈🙉 (I obviously haven't even thought about labour properly yet)

@MrsR16 congratulations on Ethan - he's gorgeous. What an amazing early Christmas gift!

@LokiCat that onesie is the cutest. I love seeing little babies wrapped up in onesies and snow suits. Too cute 💔 Also, I'm really short and have ordered maternity jeans from ASOS - the topshop and ASOS own brand come in a 30 leg.

@MrsEG you sound like you're having a rough time with sleep and pains. You poor thing. Keep going though - it's going to all be worth it. Your resilience is pretty amazing 💪🏼

@BabySquid she's so beautiful - so glad you're both doing ok! She just needed to be here for Christmas!

@Fivebyfive2 oh my - another gorgeous baby! I don't log in for a week and there are so many. So happy for you. Baby joe is a beaut! Hope he's settling in well.

@ELW85 how was New York? I love it there so much. We're going back in feb hopefully! Hope you relaxed and took everything in in equal measure!

@Lemonysherbet - hope that morning sickness is still holding off! Mine came back with a vengeance today. I'm so over it now! How are you doing?

MrsH497 · 17/12/2019 20:00

Omg @LokiCat that is just too cute! My DH love giraffes so I've bought a couple of sleep suits with them on.

@MrsEG you must be so happy to have the end of work in sight!

@Larrydavid glad your appointment went well I really enjoyed my 16 week appointment. Ooh I agree idea of stitching your cervix sounds 😬

@MrsR16 Ethan is just yummy!
@BabySquid how are you doing?
@Fivebyfive2 hope you're doing ok as well

Apologies anyone I've missed!

Think my little bump is a bit more obvious as colleagues are now commenting how cute it is (ones I've not seen for ages) gosh I'm tired tonight slept so badly last night!
Xx

Lemonysherbet · 17/12/2019 22:27

Finally 5 mins to write a proper post :)

@BabySquid how are you getting on?
@Fivebyfive2 hope you're doing ok?

@LokiCat that's an adorable snuggly suit!! Must be nice calling baby he or she.

@Larrydavid lovely to hear from you. Oddly my sickness came back today too after nearly 2 weeks without it. It was partly because I was having a panic attack before work this morning but then I kept throwing up all day. Has yours eased off much or is it still full force? It's such an arse, everyone keeps saying it will be worth it but at the time that doesn't always help when you've got vomit coming out your nose 🙈

I've got my 16 week appointment tomorrow, looking forward to it and hopefully hearing baby's heartbeat.

Also tmi question but we're all friends here. Did anyone leak wee whilst pregnant? Ive had it since about 14 weeks, had to use liners every day, but it's so embarrassing. I will ask the midwife but from experience she just tells me to go to the doctors if I'm worried about anything. I guess at least she can rule out a urine infection tomorrow!
