Getting a new one started before we are full! I’ll go back now and add people - answering everyone’s last posts here!!

@MrsR16 Nesting sounds like a good idea! Our house is such a mess at the moment mid-decorating and I cant wait for it all to be done so I can tidy!!

@BabySquid Fabulous bump! Glad you had such a brilliant time. I’m starting to think that pain sleeping is all just part and parcel of being pregnant now! At my yoga class everyone complains of it!

@Tropicana1 I’m sure there’s nothing to worry about!

@purplefig Yeah it was amazing to hear! Apparently IVF twins are more likely to be small but she never explained why. But yeah, induction is less likely for growth - it could still be needed for other reasons but it’s nice to have one of them off the list! How are you feeling, sleeping any better?

@ELW85 I did sleep a little bit better! I still woke up about 4:30 but slept all the way from 10 til then which is amazing! I feel like I’m slowly getting used to just being tired now! Glad you managed a better sleep!

@PippaPug Glad you got the radiator sorted! Yeah I’m amazed at how care changes from place to place but I think the main thing is as long as someone is seeing us at least once a month then that’s great!! How have you been feeling? I’m 24+4 today and really starting to feel uncomfortable now. My bump measured approx 32 weeks yesterday!! 32!!! She thinks they must be lying all at the front.

@cupcakesandglitter From doing some googling I think at the 28 week appt they’ll more start telling me what I can and can’t do in the birth - like start laying out all of my options? So I’m not gonna worry too much and wait to see what they say! My only ‘preference’ is everyone arrives happy and healthy and all are safe and well! I love the bong haha - how are you feeling today?

It's Friday! Yay! Later start at work today doing a 12-6 and mums doing my dinner as DH is working until 11. Not got much planned for the weekend my best friend is coming over tomorrow not seen her since I found out I was pregnant!

Need to think about antenatal/NCT classes
X

MrsEG · 13/12/2019 10:58

@PippaPug Yeah really enjoying NCT, a WhatsApp group has been set up now ready for our mammoth session tomorrow and everyone genuinely seems really lovely, and we all live within about 10 mins of each other! Hope all goes well with the twin midwife, what kind of questions do you have (I only ask because every time I go in, I feel like I should have so many questions but I draw a blank every single time!!!) Hope the scan is fab on Monday! We have one on weds - I’m so certain they are still both breech though - I can feel heads in my ribs!! My last day in the office is next weds! And then I may do 2 weeks from home in Jan...
I think that sounds really sensible about your mat leave and great the Mum has been understanding! Time to get your feet up!

@MrsH497 Sounds like a good weekend! I just went on the NCT site and popped my postcode in - but FYI they book up very fast!

I had such a crap night with my PGP again, I saw every hour. It’s excruciating trying to sleep. Feel like a zombie today! A GP friend has told me rather than WFH in Jan to try and extend my mat to pay, she’d happily sign me off. I often feel a bit funny about being signed off but she said PGP is a perfectly viable reason to be out of work and that I should be looking after myself. So I’m just gonna see I think - see how I feel after Christmas.

Hope everyone has fun weekends planned! It’s DH Xmas do tomorrow night and the restaurant is so lovely but part of me so can’t be bothered now haha, such an effort to get dressed up and go out these days! Especially after 6 hours of NCT!!

@MrsH497 hope you feel better soon, you're such a rotten time of it. Enjoy dinner with your mum.

@LokiCat haha you sound as pragmatic as me about spreading germs! It's awful having a cold and being pregnant...mine is still dragging on which is just unheard of.

@PippaPug So exciting you haven't got long until mat leave! And I'm glad to hear the mum was understanding about it.

@MrsEG your double helpings of Yule Log sounds lovely! Sorry about your PGP. I'd side with your GP friend, not being able to sleep has a huge impact on your ability to function. Agree, tactical voting is a bitter pill to swallow. Cannot believe the results...floored.

I'm feeling a bit blerghh today. My back is sore (change the record, I know) and I am not looking forward to four whole hours of NCT tomorrow, as sitting is what triggers the pain. Oh and, you know, the state of the country and all that. (Can't even drown my sorrows with a gin...)

What's everyone up to this weekend? Other than NCT we have a fairly quiet one. I've got a fair bit of Christmas admin to sort, as last weekend before we're away. Looking forward to a break. x

MrsR16 · 13/12/2019 20:17

Hi ladies, just dropping into say hi! Ethan's first week has just absolutely flown by! I'm exhausted, but still amazed at what I managed to do 😊 he's just so perfect! 😍

Sorry for not replying to everyone - you ladies have been busy on here!

@Fivebyfive2 any news lovely? I hope all's gone well xx

BabySquid · 13/12/2019 20:31

@PippaPug so glad the mum understood and you didn't feel any pressure in staying on into Jan. Exciting you only have now 3 working days left!!
@MrsEG I'm sure people will understand if you wanna leave the restaurant early!
@purplefig enjoy your Christmas admin, we really need to finish our shopping just in case this one decides to come early, but I just can't face walking round town, it makes me a bit nervous atm!! Scared I'd do too much or someone might bash into me (I've never experienced anxiety before and I'm hating it!)

Our nursery furniture is coming tomorrow and I'm so excited to see it built, DH has the drill on charge ready to go. I'll show and tell once they're up.

Fivebyfive2 · 14/12/2019 03:12

Hi All ! I'll try and catch up properly, going home sometime today we hope!

Little Joe was born via c section on Thursday 12.12th at 11. 11am weighing 5.11 😀

Feeding has been mixed, he takes to the boob but had a little jaundice, which mixed with mim being pee term means sometimes he just struggles to latch properly, so topping up with expressionscand formula. He's mostly quite chilled (for now!) but he Hates having his nappy changed 😂

We are absolutely in love!!

Fivebyfive2 · 14/12/2019 03:13

Good lord, I should have spell checked that before posting 😂

MrsR16 · 14/12/2019 03:47

@Fivebyfive2 oh wow!! Congratulations! Joe is absolutely beautiful 😊 well done you! Xx

TrashKitten10 · 14/12/2019 04:47

Look at us mummies all up in the middle of the night ☺️ @Fivebyfive2 Congratulations! Joe is absolutely gorgeous. How are you feeling? The newborn nappy changes will get easier, I used to dread them, especially if Daisy needed a full outfit change as she would scream blue murder. Six weeks on and she rather enjoys wriggling around on the mat in the nude Grin

Fivebyfive2 · 14/12/2019 07:57

@trashkitten10, that is genuinely a relief to hear! I'm feeling OK, even had my first post c section poo yesterday, which wasn't bad at all! Had trouble getting him to feed again this morning, ended up topped up with formula, so I've just had a go at expressing!

How's everyone doing? Xx

MrsH497 · 14/12/2019 10:35

@Fivebyfive2 huge congratulations and welcome little Joe! He's beautiful. How are you doing?
@TrashKitten10 how're you and daisy doing?

MrsR16 · 14/12/2019 11:33

@Fivebyfive2 yay for the first poo post section!! I was also dreading my first poo... I've had issues since lol but it's sorting itself out now (with a bit of constipation relief) - oh the glamour of being a new mummy!! You sound as though you're doing really well 😊

@TrashKitten10 hope you're doing ok lovely! I absolutely get what you mean with full outfit changes - Ethan hates it at the moment! His little sad face is just so adorable though... 😂

@MrsH497 how are you doing today, lovely?

MrsH497 · 14/12/2019 11:52

@MrsR16 I don't want to say anything too positive as I keep having sicky days but yesterday and today have been fine. Might stay taking the new medication for a few days.

Has everyone got a next2me or snuzpod? We can't fit the cot in our room so need something for baby to sleep in (6 months in with us?)

How are you @MrsR16

BabySquid · 14/12/2019 12:19

@Fivebyfive2 check you out with the little cutie pie, Joe is a lovely name too. And well done on the post section poop!
@MrsH497 we don't have the next to me or snuzpod, but we bought a bedside rocker crib from mamas and papas, was only £70 so cheaper than the others, and came with a mattress and sheets. DH is putting it up today so I'll show you it.

MrsR16 · 14/12/2019 13:45

@MrsH497 well I'm glad today is a good day! I can imagine you just have to take one day at a time, so that's great!

As far as in the bedroom, I'm the same as @BabySquid - Ethan's sleeping in a swing crib. We picked up a second hand Mama's & Papa's one and it works really well!

purplefig · 14/12/2019 13:57

@MrsR16 definitely don't apologise - you've got a major life change going on!! How're you feeling post birth?

@BabySquid what bits do you still need to get? Could you online shop instead?

@Fivebyfive2 huge congratulations! He looks so squishy and cute 😍 how're you doing lovely?

@TrashKitten10 how're you and daisy doing?

@MrsH497 no we've got a Moses basket.

Hope everyone's having a grand weekend? NCT got cancelled and I'm kind of relieved as sitting for four hours this morning with a bad back was not appealing. We had a lazy morning, took the dog to the beach and now I've just trimmed and washed him so he's looking and smelling fresh 💁🏼‍♀️ x

MrsR16 · 14/12/2019 14:06

@purplefig it is certainly quite the upheaval! 😂 I'm doing ok! I'm not feeling beaten up any more, which is great. Still a bit tender downstairs, but that's to be expected anyway, let alone with a few stitches! It's just such a whirlwind - we're eating as and when we remember 😂 we have a surprise 50th party to go to tonight, which will be nice provided Ethan's ok to go! I'm so determined that he will come first and if he's not happy, we won't go. It's amazing how much your thinking changes once they're here. How are you doing?

BabySquid · 14/12/2019 14:08

@purplefig I can get most of it from the supermarket as is bits to finish off the hampers I've made.
FINALLY our furniture has turned up... time to start building (I obvs mean just DH, he won't let me near the boxes!)

purplefig · 14/12/2019 14:19

@MrsR16 that's really interesting as I've heard quite a few parents say that. Would you say it's that your priorities have shifted (I.e. Ethan comes first) or something broader? Glad you're doing ok and aren't feeling beaten up anymore. My mum always said it felt like the day after a marathon! Are you able to sit down comfortably now? I'm ok thanks, just fed up of my sore back - it's raging already today and I haven't even done much! But down to 8 ish weeks on Monday which isn't long 😅 and I'm sooooo excited to meet him/her.

@BabySquid ahhh fair enough - could you go super off peak to avoid crowds? I love a late night supermarket sesh 😂. Hope the furniture building goes well! 👌🏼

MrsR16 · 14/12/2019 14:34

@BabySquid yay for furniture!! And that's so sweet your DH won't let you near - you can supervise from somewhere comfy 😂

@purplefig it's definitely all about Ethan now when it comes to going out anywhere. I nearly refused to go to DH's parents' house yesterday because he'd had a rubbish couple of hours, but we got there and he was ok. Had a crap night last night to make up for it! Little humbug was awake for a good hour and a bit at about 02:45... I'm hoping he doesn't make a habit of it! 😂 sitting down's not too bad now, which is good. Although I miss my bump, it's nice to not feel like a beached whale and struggle to turn over in bed or get up off the sofa! That 8 weeks will absolutely fly by! I'm excited for you 😊😊

MrsEG · 14/12/2019 16:26

Afternoon all! Had a mammoth NCT session today but it was fab - really enjoyed it. I feel like I must’ve gotten very lucky as my sister hated hers and didn’t even go to the last session! Each to their own I guess. But it was really fab today. Had a mini meltdown on the ‘24 hours with baby’ section - she had a past NCT member write down essentially a diary entry for one day and we all discussed it. It sounded tough ha! And also after chatting to the teacher and she was asking if my bag was packed (still no) and said that twins on average come between 33-37 weeks. Which I already know! So why am I dragging my feet?! I’m 30 weeks for the love of god haha. So it’s being packed, literally as soon as I hit ‘post’ on here!!

@purplefig How’s your back doing? Oh I’m gutted about the election result, I really am. I won’t wax lyrical or I’ll be here all day but for me I felt it was high time for someone other than the tories to lead; long overdue. They’re so dishonest I can’t abide them.

@MrsR16 Glad to hear you’re doing well lovely! I think putting baby and importantly you’re new little family first makes total, complete sense! It’s how we plan to work too - if someone invites us somewhere or asks us to do something and it doesn’t work for us, we’ll be saying no and won’t be feeling guilty about it! Glad you’re slowly recovering too - will the stitches just dissolve on their own?

@Fivebyfive2 He is beautiful!! Congratulations! How did the section go for you? Glad you’re getting help with the feeding - superstar expressing for the little man! Are you still at the hospital?

@TrashKitten10 Hi how are you getting on?? Ha my sisters little girl was the same as a newborn - hated being naked haha! A full nappy and clothes change she screamed blue murder!! It didn’t last too long though :)

@BabySquid Enjoy the furniture building - you can project manage while DH does the leg work!!

Fivebyfive2 · 14/12/2019 19:04

@MrsEG, glad you liked the NCT... Ha ha the baby diary exercise was a definite talking point at ours!
The c section was surreal, over so fast and he was just There! Feeling OK, walking around just slowly, but no real pain and going to the loo etc has all been fine.
So glad to hear Joe isn't alone is his hatred of being changed 😂 He's loving the expressed milk, might have to invest in an electronic pump, I find having the bottle ready takes the pressure off me to get him to latch if he's upset.

@MrsR16, omg teach me your ways, to be able to say No, we're gonna need it I think! Xx

MrsR16 · 14/12/2019 20:19

@MrsEG I had a bit of a meltdown earlier - Ethan's had a bit of a rough afternoon and I think I'm suffering with the knock on effect from last night! But it's ok - DH has been amazing which is all I can ask! Yes, the stitches will dissolve in about 6 weeks or so, so at the 6 week check up at the GP surgery, they'll be checking to make sure everything's as it should be.

@Fivebyfive2 haha! Oh bless ya! Just don't be afraid to say no if you think it'll have an adverse effect on either you or Joe! If people are that fussed about seeing him, then they can make the concerted effort to come to you. Although if you're not feeling up to it, please don't be afraid to tell them "not just yet - I'm not having a great day today" and most people will hopefully understand xx

TrashKitten10 · 14/12/2019 23:17

@Fivebyfive2 Glad to hear you're getting on well and managing to express :)

@MrsR16 Aww bless him, yes the little gummy sad face like 😩 Hope Ethan has a more settled night for you.

@MrsH497 We are getting on really well thanks. She's growing like a little weed and is now in 3-6 months clothes and I even used a 6-9 month vest on her today. Some of that is definitely her big cloth nappy bum but even so, she needs to slow down as she's outgrowing all her lovely clothes before she's even worn them! How are you getting on? We have the snuzpod and really like it, it makes it a lot easier to give Daisy a little pat or pop her dummy back in at night with the side down and she likes to sleep facing me. One unexpected drawback of no side to the cot was that she managed to projectile milky vomit across the cot, across our bed and splatter me in the face haha. Also Daisy is quite long and now she has fully uncurled from being a squishy newborn she takes up about 3/4 of the snuzpod already so I'm a bit sceptical whether it will last another 4+ months. Something to bear in mind if you and/or DP are tall or little one is expected to be big.

@purplefig We are getting on great thanks, she's snuggled up on me now all freshly washed and smelling delicious ☺️ Shame your NCT class was cancelled but at least your pup reaped the benefits :)

@MrsEG Haha, I think it must be a newborn thing. Why did Mother Nature make newborns so incredibly leaky when they hate being changed?! Daisy's on her fourth outfit of the day so good job she's coming around to being changed ☺️ Good luck getting your bag packed, it's not long to go now!

MrsR16 · 14/12/2019 23:28

@TrashKitten10 I hope so too! We shall wait and see 😊 I totally get you when you're on about leaky newborns! Ethan is on outfit 3... 😂😂😂
