Getting a new one started before we are full! I’ll go back now and add people - answering everyone’s last posts here!!

@MrsR16 Nesting sounds like a good idea! Our house is such a mess at the moment mid-decorating and I cant wait for it all to be done so I can tidy!!

@BabySquid Fabulous bump! Glad you had such a brilliant time. I’m starting to think that pain sleeping is all just part and parcel of being pregnant now! At my yoga class everyone complains of it!

@Tropicana1 I’m sure there’s nothing to worry about!

@purplefig Yeah it was amazing to hear! Apparently IVF twins are more likely to be small but she never explained why. But yeah, induction is less likely for growth - it could still be needed for other reasons but it’s nice to have one of them off the list! How are you feeling, sleeping any better?

@ELW85 I did sleep a little bit better! I still woke up about 4:30 but slept all the way from 10 til then which is amazing! I feel like I’m slowly getting used to just being tired now! Glad you managed a better sleep!

@PippaPug Glad you got the radiator sorted! Yeah I’m amazed at how care changes from place to place but I think the main thing is as long as someone is seeing us at least once a month then that’s great!! How have you been feeling? I’m 24+4 today and really starting to feel uncomfortable now. My bump measured approx 32 weeks yesterday!! 32!!! She thinks they must be lying all at the front.

@cupcakesandglitter From doing some googling I think at the 28 week appt they’ll more start telling me what I can and can’t do in the birth - like start laying out all of my options? So I’m not gonna worry too much and wait to see what they say! My only ‘preference’ is everyone arrives happy and healthy and all are safe and well! I love the bong haha - how are you feeling today?

@Larrydavid thank you! He is simply beautiful! I'm falling more and more in love every time I look at him 😍 good shout on pulling the pregnancy card if you need to! I couldn't think of anything worse than hosting a load of people at Christmas while pregnant... but you'll smash it I'm sure!

@MrsH497 thank you, lovely 😊 I just can't stop staring at him! Great to see your bump is noticeable! Makes everything a bit easier when things are obvious hey?

@Lemonysherbet I didn't leak, but it really doesn't surprise me! Babies weigh an awful lot and put so much pressure on your bladder. Are you doing pelvic floor exercises already? I hope you do get to hear the heartbeat tomorrow - it's super magical!

Fivebyfive2 · 18/12/2019 05:08

@lemonysherbert, helloo! I'm doing OK, think I'm quite hormonal though....one decent feed and it's like 'hell yeah, smashing this' and then one difficult one and I'm in tears saying 'I just can't do this at all'... Fun times! But Joe is doing well, midwife is really happy with him 🙂 He looks so much like dh, it's actually a bit scary! Got an electronic breast pump arriving today so hoping I can do more expressing so dh can help with feeds a bit more.

I really need to stop looking at amazon whilst doing night feeds though 😂

PippaPug · 18/12/2019 10:08

Hello everyone,

Sorry I went MIA - Just had some time of the internet again!

Seems like so much has happened since I was last on here!

Congratulations @Fivebyfive2 on the birth of Joe! How wonderful, I hope your settling in at home and enjoying being a new family of three!

@BabySquid - Clearly little one couldn’t wait to be here ready for christmas! Congratulations! Hope your all ok, do you have a name yet?

@MrsEG - So many questions - I want to ask about having a water birth, do I have to be induced, can I be scanned on the day of be going in to check the position of the babies, how are they going to monitor them etc how are you getting on?
It’s national twins day today so Happy Twins day to you!

@MrsH497 - have you found a NCT/or other class you like the look of?

@purplefig
How are you? Weird to think that this is my last few days and I doubt I will go back to being a nanny after the twins are here, I feel a little bit tearful about it as I don’t want to give it up but realistically don’t have a choice. How is NCT going for you? I had our first class on Monday and we both came out and felt like we learnt things and it was informative - plus there is another twin mum there 🎉 they were not able to be there this week, so hoping they will be there next week!

@LokiCat - I’m slightly obsessed with penguins - our nursery will be penguin themed and our wedding had penguins Incorporated into it and we also went to see penguins in SA for part of our honeymoon (nice and outing for anyone who could potentially know me!) that pram suit is adorable!
The link for the chest is:
www.abdabsfurniture.co.uk/paris-wide-chest-of-8-drawers-in-white.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI-6_qi9OX5gIVTbDtCh25ZQOFEAQYFyABEgKptPD_BwEp

It’s cheaper then wayfair too, but haven’t heard of that company before.

I’m 28 weeks and 4 days now ☺️ I had my scan on Monday and it was really disappointing, saw a consultant and he scanned me for less then 15 mins, was really abrupt and didn’t engage with me, by the time I was off the bed he had the next patients details up on the screen (including her name/DOB and NHS number) I didn’t see the midwife as apparently it was just a scan (even though I always see a midwife after each scan appointment) Pips measurements wasn’t all done and he told me that Pip and Pop have swopped positions - but he just found the first baby and said it was T1.....and even when the person inputting the data was saying there was discrepancies he said it was fine 😬 second time in a row I came away feeling really disappointed, and I felt like a inconvenience and nuisance to them all.
I am also being railroaded into a C section without actually talking to me....just all the appointment letters are pointing that way.

I spoke to the lady who runs my NCT and she suggested looking at the NICE guidelines of what care they should be providing and by 28 weeks they should of spoken to me about what birth I ideally want, about pain relief and what monitoring I should want/be expecting....I have no appointments till 32 weeks and that’s not to discuss any of this, I’m feeling quite alone in this all suddenly and feel like I’m just supposed to go along with it all - also the hospital im under have a higher then national average on C sections which concerns me that they rather give woman C sections then naturally - my friend was in hospital giving birth a month ago and she said she had 30 mins to push the baby out otherwise she would have to have a c section, but there was nothing wrong with her or the baby - just as if they want to get it over and done with.

Sorry that’s another moany post from me 🙈 hope is everyone is doing well!

MrsEG · 18/12/2019 10:41

Hello all! I’ll catch up properly later but just in the car on the way back from a scan - boys doing great, 3lb 5 and 3lb 8 today at 30+3 - there’s around 7% difference between them which apparently is fine, it’s only a concern if it’s 20% or more, so next scan now is in 3 weeks.

Just wanted to quickly reply to @pippapug hun I think that’s disgraceful! I really think you should complain as that’s two appts now that haven’t been acceptable. In contrast my growth scan today lasted about 40 mins and I saw a consultant after to discuss birth and treatment pathway over the next 6 weeks. There’s no way you shouldn’t be getting that opportunity to ask those questions!
If it helps - I have asked a lot of what you have. Water birth apparently is a big no as it’s just impossible to monitor both babies underwater; some trusts let you use a pool for pain relief but definitely not the birth. But you can refuse an induction absolutely. C-sections are recommended dependant on babies position - currently mine are both still breech and if they stay that way they said it would be too risky for both me and babies to go natural - but they have told me if Twin 1 moves face down, we can go natural - and that the choice is completely mine to make.
I’m so sorry you’re having such a rubbish experience and honestly if I were you I’d be putting in a complaint now as there’s no way you shouldn’t have had these conversations yet!!

OP posts:
PippaPug · 18/12/2019 10:58

@MrsEG

Glad to hear your scan went well and babies are growing fantastically, well done you!

I’m going to ring up my midwife either today or tomorrow (I know she is definitely in tomorrow) and have a chat and see if I can book a app with her and have a chat about it all.
I have a feeling it’s because I had a scan last week the consultant didn’t bother to do it properly this time?! No idea really but just a guess.

We have been told that I could have a water birth at first and now it’s all being told I need to have a C section but when I look at the NICE guidelines, there is no difference in safety between natural/C section (there is a few factors which they take in consideration but I don’t have any of them currently)

We are currently looking into a different hospital....or potentially renting a birthing pool at home and labouring at home for as long as possible (again we haven’t been told we need to go into hospital at the first sign of labour unlike you)

I have heard lots of people having natural births including water births which is why I’m confused why the hospital is pushing me down the route of a C section, I’m just feeling quite alone in this without support of any kind currently from the hospital - it was all fine till 24 weeks and it’s gone down hill from there but unsure why.

The links show I should of had these conversions by now - but I haven’t, kind of feel like I’m slipping through the net? 😐😐

MrsEG · 18/12/2019 11:12

@PippaPug You absolutely should have had these conversations or at the very least had the opportunity to ask! I’ve been told a flat no for water birth but that could have been my own personal situation too (two breech babies) but initially they did also say it’s because of the monitoring - but like you say pools can be used to pain relief but again it needs to be discussed and checked with your trust etc. We actually discussed the pros and cons of both natural and c section today for twins and it’s completely dependant on you and the babies positions and health/situation so it doesn’t make sense why they would be pushing c section now so early?! If I were you definitely call your midwife to discuss and if you’d feel happier in another hospital, move - this is you and your babies and you want to feel supported and confident in your choices and doctors/consultants!! I haven’t felt pressure in to any option at all, have just been given all the information for me to make my own mind up. I have an appt booked for 33 weeks when I’ll then decide if I want to book my section (as this is the option I’m currently favouring) but that gives me three weeks to have a good think over all of it!

Waaaa @fivebyfive2 massive congrats on baby Joe!! Pleased all is well x

@babysquid ahh massive congrats to you too!! Glad baby is doing well, have you thought of a name for her yet? How are you doing? X

@PippaPug oh god that's not good!! I've just come back from a MW app and it couldn't be more different - she's told me to put my foot down when it comes to my birth choices because they tried to force me to have a C section and I now know it's not what I want at all!! Can you speak to someone else/change hospital? I'd give your midwife a call, that's appalling and they really shouldn't leave you feeling like that x

@mrseg ahhh glad the boys are doing well!! How lovely that you'll get to see them so soon again too 😊 how're you feeling? You're getting so close now!! X

Sorry I disappeared again - the bathroom should be completed today and I FINALLY get to have a proper bath in a relaxing bathroom 😂 nursery progress has been halted due to the bathroom but otherwise it's all systems go here! Not sure if anyone knows as I haven't seen it advertised, but Sainsbury's have an incredible sale on - I've picked up quite a bit all at 50% off!

I went into hospital last week with reduced movements and they only did the Doppler and sent me home... spoke to the midwife who told me they should've monitored me properly! A bit annoyed as the midwives said movement doesn't really establish a pattern up to 32 weeks but I was sure it was 24.. I was right!! That's the second time now I've been into MAU and they've fobbed me off. Gah!

cupcakesandglitter · 18/12/2019 11:53

Oh wow I missed a lot off 😓

@MrsR16 how's Ethan doing?! How're you doing?! I bet it's so amazing 😭

@Lemonysherbert ooh I hope your app goes well!! Yep I have 😂 I've worn pads every day (I thought I'd got my break from them 😂) but I wet myself massively every time I throw up which is nice! I think pelvic floor exercises are supposed to help so I'd give them a go x

Ahh @MrsH497 how lovely that your bump is more noticeable!! It's always nice when people start commenting on it 🥰 hope you're feeling better? X

Oh wow @larrydavid enjoy your time off!!! Definitely use the pregnancy card, that's a big host you're doing 😂 make sure you get time to put your feet up!! X

@lokicat oh my god how cute 😭😭 she's going to be such a cute cuddly penguin!!

@purplefig how're you doing? X

Sorry if I've missed anyone, I'm awful with keeping up!!!

MrsEG · 18/12/2019 13:30

@LokiCat That onesie is absolutely adorable! I bet you can’t wait for a break! Those 3 months til mat leave will fly by - feels like yesterday for me that I was handing in my MATB1 form!

@MrsR16 Ah I’m so glad it’s all going well for you and you sound well wrapped in that lovely newborn bubble!! He sounds like a dream baby!

@Larrydavid Hosting 14 people!! Oh my word the most I ever did was 11 and I won’t pretend I didn’t have a small cry in the kitchen at one point!! Fingers crossed all is well with your cervix!

@MrsH497 So happy! Can’t wait to get my feet up! Ah how fab the bump has popped for you!

@Lemonysherbet Enjoy your appt today! You need to get on the pelvic floor exercises - I have had so much watery discharge and I notice the weeks I’m good with my exercises it’s so much less, and the weeks I really slack off I basically need Tena ladies!!

@Fivebyfive2 Ah hun take every day in its stride! Hope you get on well with the electric pump - I have a double one ready and waiting!

@cupcakesandglitter Great news on the bathroom! It’s interesting about movements as people say many different things! For me I was told to monitor movements from 28 weeks and any issues earlier than that would just be a Doppler check, so that sounds about right to me. And I have to say even at 30 weeks now and two of them there I’m not sure it’s really a pattern for me yet! I just always know I feel them first thing and last thing so that’s what I mostly look out for!

So I’m done with work!! Popped in for an hour after the hospital, was given lots of lovely gifts and balloons and now I’m at home just tidying my inbox before I log off. It feels really surreal! I have the NCT breastfeeding session tonight; and amazingly, we bumped in to one of the other NCT couples at the hospital!! As mentioned above babies are doing great and we won’t be seen now until 33 weeks which is ‘the’ appointment - check babies positions and start making some decisions about delivery. I’m fairly dead set on elective section now though, for a million reasons I won’t bore anyone with!
Soo mat leave starts now!! Anyone got any good box set recommendations?!

OP posts:
PippaPug · 18/12/2019 13:55

@MrsEG - I’m getting increasingly unhappy with the way we are being brushed under the carpet and I don’t think they expect me to do any research but unfortunately they don’t know me very well 😂 DH isn’t very happy either the way we don’t know anything and the way the scan was on Monday.
They have been pushing for a c section for a while with the way they have already booked me in for a meeting for a epidural to see how much anaesthetic I will need - but haven’t actually asked me if I want it etc just told I need to have this. I just feel a bit out of my depth and feel like they want me to just go along with it all without questioning anything. I have no problem with a c section if it’s what I or the babies need, but it seems they aren’t wanting me to have a natural birth, which is what I really want and no one is listening, anyway! What kind of boxsets have you already watched? I may be able to suggest some!

@cupcakesandglitter - glad your MW appt went so well! I haven’t seen mine since 24 weeks now 🙄 I rung up my MW today however and she’s not in till tomorrow which is what I thought, so I will ring her tomorrow and see if I can book a apt with her in the next few weeks and hoping DH can come along for support. How’s the new bath?!

MrsEG · 18/12/2019 15:14

@PippaPug I just think for the doctor today to not even suggest coming back or re-booking the scan is awful, and not what you would expect at all - and to be discussing anaesthesia already?! It’s like a pre-op, like it’s all written in the cards! It doesn’t sound fair and as far as I’m concerned we’ve been given all the options and information, for us to make an informed choice together. I’ve never felt pressured at all and my main reason for wanting the section is it just seems safest for me and babies now as they are both breech and showing no signs of shifting at all. But I still haven’t been told I have to be firm on it yet until 33 weeks! I really hope you are able to chat to your midwife. It really does seem like you are slipping through the system a bit and that wouldn’t be acceptable for a singleton, let alone twins!
I will literally watch anything! We have the works, amazon prime, Netflix, iPlayer and soon setting up the new Apple+ so I’m all set for my chill-out time!
When does your mat leave start?

OP posts:
PippaPug · 18/12/2019 15:23

@MrsEg - I told DH about your experience and he said it’s incredibly frustrating that we are both at NHS hospitals but the care currently is so different!
T1 is breach but I got the letter about the epidural before T1 had turned around 🙄
Have you tried the peas on their head and a torch at the other end to try and get them to turn? At least T1?!

Series which requires no brain power:
Call the midwife, Downton Abbey, The OC, Waterloo Road, One tree hill - all white long series and easy to watch!

Also ER although I haven’t watched that, I really enjoyed the purge (but not to everyone’s cup of tea!) Luther, Suits....that’s all I can think of at the top of my head!

MrsR16 · 18/12/2019 16:42

@PippaPug that sounds awful! I can't believe you're being fobbed off like that. I'd be tempted to talk to the PALS department at the hospital if I were you.

@MrsEG great to see your two boys are doing so well 😊 Ethan is incredible - he slept from about 9:15 last night to when I woke him up at just gone 2 this morning!! I have no doubt it won't last, so I'm making the most of it while it does!!

@cupcakesandglitter Ethan's doing just amazing! Now weighing in at 7lb 12oz, so above birth weight already... little chunker! 😍 I'm doing ok! Super tired though - been out and about today and haven't had a nap! That's crazy you weren't monitored properly... I had issues with possible pre-eclampsia and I was monitored for a lot longer than the 20 mins they had to keep me on the monitors for! Just insane!

PippaPug · 18/12/2019 16:51

@MrsEG - oh don’t take my comment of no brain power the wrong way, I just know I’m not up to taking in any complicated series now, and something easy and light hearted to watch (and fall asleep in front of!) is rathe nice!

@MrsR16 - I’m going to speak to my midwife tomorrow and hopefully get a appointment in which DH can come - hoping it will be over the holidays, and then take it from there but PALS is one of our steps to go down sadly.
How’s little Ethan?

MrsR16 · 18/12/2019 17:02

@PippaPug I am so sorry that you're having such a bad experience... this should be one of the most special times of your life, but it's got to be difficult at the moment! Ethan is doing amazingly well 😊 I'm so lucky to have him!

MrsEG · 18/12/2019 17:54

@PippaPug I really think you should use my experience in your favour/defence when talking to your midwife - how can it vary so massively?! Oh I’ve tried Spinning Babies tips, yoga tips, peas/warm baths etc - he isn’t for budging. He’s not much of a wriggler he’s happy just having a good stretch every now and again! I can feel his head so firmly wedged up top!! If that’s where he’s comfy, then so be it!
Thanks for the tips - I definitely need things that don’t require brain power at the mo as I’m so totally sleep deprived so that’s perfect haha!

@MrsR16 Ahh what a fabulous little sleeper you’ve got!! I’ll keep everything crossed it stays that way haha!

OP posts:
LokiCat · 18/12/2019 18:21

Hi all! Happy hump day!

@MrsR16 PJ day is the best. That's what my Monday consisted of 😁

@Larrydavid ah thanks for the recommendation. I had seen the petite maternity jeans and wondered if they were worth buying. Fingers crossed all goes well with your appointment in Jan and there aren't any problems found!
Good luck hosting!! We hosted 8 people earlier this month and I wouldn't have been able to get through it without DH - I was exhausted!

@MrsH497 i love when people comment on the bump. I encouraged it when my colleague mentioned as it meant it didn't just look like bloat/too much food 😂

@Lemonysherbet DH and I have been referring to her by her name as well between ourselves and it's been amazing!
I had that the leaking problem, especially when I was throwing up a lot and when I had some bad coughs during my cold. I need to up my pelvic floor exercises! I hope all goes well at your 16 week appointment tomorrow!

@PippaPug not sure if you've seen these soft toys at H&M or white company? I'm hoping to incorporate them in the room somehow (leaning more towards the one from WC). I'd love to get all three of Snowy up on a shelf in the nursery, but I think DH may put his foot down at that 😂
m2.hm.com/m/en_gb/productpage.0672596001.html www.thewhitecompany.com/uk/search?text=snowy+penguin
Thank you for linking the unit! I'll have a google at the company to see if I find any reviews, otherwise may stick with IKEA!
I'm so sorry you're having such a bad experience with your scans/appointments. It's not fair that they seem to be pushing you to one option rather than discussing what you (the important party!) would actually like. I hope something comes out of speaking to the midwife tomorrow, if not I think changing hospitals (if it's not too much of a hassle) may be a better way forward.

@cupcakesandglitter im glad all went well at your midwife appointment today, although I'm sorry you weren't monitored properly when you went in. I hope all is okay with your little one?
Ahh how exciting that your bathroom is almost done! Enjoy your bath!!
Thanks for the heads up about the Sainsbury's sale - I'll have a look!

@MrsEG happy maternity leave! It must be a relief to finally be done with work! I'm glad all went well at your appointment and babies are doing so well. Exciting that you'll be starting to make some final decisions soon - not long to go! Definitely put your feet up and enjoy your time off now :)
Re boxsets I'll put some down that I've finished and thoroughly enjoyed (be warned I'm a bit crime genre obsessed). I've heard good things about The Morning Show on Apple+ (haven't watched it myself though).
These are what I've watched: Greys Anatomy, How To Get Away With Murder, Safe, Line of Duty, People v OJ Simpson, Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, You, Bodyguard, Guilt, Marcella, Law and Order SVU (the last one is my favourite, but the type of cases they investigate may not be for everyone). Thats all I've got at the top of my head right now (I know a lot of these are pretty popular, so you may have already seen them). Sorry waffled on a bit! Enjoy NCT tonight :)

PippaPug · 18/12/2019 19:06

@MrsR16 - Got to admit I’m feeling pretty stressed about it all, my next appointment with anyone is when I would be 32+5 days which really concerns me that it’s too late - I would of already had my appointment for the epidural (which I don’t want!)
Are you (and Ethan!) excited about his first Christmas?

@MrsEG - Would you mind telling me roughly where you are in the UK? (Please feel free to PM me or just say no 😂) haha what a little Monkey! I’m going to be trying the peas/torch as of Saturday onwards! He has turned a couple of times so I’m hoping he/she will do it again!
One tree hill and the OC are my fave easy dramas and call the midwife - but you may want a series without babies!

@LokiCat - I would love to see photos of your nursery afterwards - I have a feeling it will be similar To ours! We have the blankets from TWC which are lovely (Black Friday sale!) also have you heard about Fred and Noah - v small company, but they have pram and XXL blankets which have penguin over them - super soft (and yes I also have them 😂) also a Mama and papas playmat 😂 I think because it’s white/grey it’s easier as we don’t know what we are having yet.
Will check the H and m link out 🙈 Thank you!
Changing hospitals also seems a bit of a faff esp as we only have one car between us which DH needs to work....the one which I wanted (which has 8 water birth rooms available) apparently won’t accept if your not under their catchment.....I thought all NHS hospitals had to accept you regardless of where you live!
My other option and I’m not being serious is to go into labour and change my mind and have a home birth - they have to send out midwifes if I refuse to go to a hospital....it’s only in jest but has crossed my mind a few times to be honest!
how are you doing?

Lemonysherbet · 18/12/2019 19:55

Ah thanks all, nice to know I'm not the only one wetting myself 😂 I'll do a proper reply on tomorrow commute :)

16 week midwife appointment went really well. She couldn't find the heartbeat at first but could hear baby kicking so wasn't worried. We have a right wriggler who loves to kick 😂

BabySquid · 18/12/2019 22:13

Hi all, gosh there's a lot to catch up on from Monday!
Thank you for all the well wishes, both me and baby are doing great, we do have a name for her now... Ivy Willow 💗💗 she's doing incredibly well, they're hoping to get her out of the incubator soon (potentially tomorrow) and into a cot as long as she can keep her body temperature up.
I'm managing to express milk, from hand expressing to using the hospital pump I'm already managing 10ml from each boob 🤩🥳
Attaching a newer photo 🥰

Catching up with TTC #1, thread 8!
MrsEG · 18/12/2019 22:51

@LokiCat It’s such a relief to be done but it felt so odd putting my out of office on! Ah wonderful thank you - I love a good crime drama!!

@PippaPug Of course! I’m at Wythenshawe hospital which is a part of St Mary’s in Manchester - if you want any more info about my treatment pathway and appts etc then just let me know if it’ll help your case! I know, my twin 1 is a bugger - he’s just so content lying where he is; he’s never been nearly as much of a mover as his brother!! Good luck with the peas!!

@BabySquid Ah Ivy is beautiful and it’s great to hear she’s doing so well! Hope she is out of the incubator soon. Well done you with your expressing!

@LokiCat that penguin pram suit is too cute! I've got under the bump and over the bump jeans and to be honest, they're both pretty crap at falling down. I need a belt with both. I think it's the universe trying to tell me to stick with leggings Grin

@MrsR16 ahhh I bet your DH loves getting all those pics of Ethan :)

@Larrydavid All the best for hosting 14 people, that sounds fun but intense. I'd definitely be pulling the pregnancy card Grin fingers crossed your cervix doesn't need stitching.

@Lemonysherbet could be worth doing pelvic floor exercises if you aren't already - you can download the Squeezy NHS app which will send you reminders throughout the day.

@Fivebyfive2 It sounds like you're doing really well. One thing all the mums I've spoke to have said is that those first few weeks and months are really challenging and you are going to feel quite up and down with it. Try and give yourself credit for when things go right! Hope your breast pump arrives today and helps you be able to share the feeding a bit more.

@PippaPug Oh that's totally understandable, your life is going to be all about the twins for a while now and that's exciting but change is also super scary. Sorry to hear about your shitty experience with care in the hospital - like MrsEG says, it's worth making sure your voice is heard as it's a major life event you're going through! Easier said than done when everything feels overwhelming though, I know. Glad you enjoyed NCT and it's great there was another twin mum there: lock her down!! Grin. I enjoyed NCT for meeting other parents-to-be and setting up a WhatsApp group, but in all honesty I haven't found the content that useful - I feel like our teacher is a bit all over the place and that I'd learnt most of it from watching The Positive Birth company's digital pack.

@MrsEG YOU'RE DONE!! WOOO HOOO!!!!!! I am so bloody chuffed for you Grin let the resting and nesting commence! Box set wise...I'm a bit rubbish and stuck in the past really hahaa...what about The Crown? Brooklyn 99 is super lighthearted and fun parody cop show that once I got into has made me snort-laugh on more than one occasion. I've heard good things about Schitt's Creek. The Let Down (about women post-babies) was really lovely and funny. Uhhh...that's a random mix Grin

@cupcakesandglitter Ooo a lovely nice bath in a fresh bathroom - what could be better? Thanks for the Salisbury's tip - I'll check it out, I love their Tu stuff.

@BabySquid what a gorgeous name! I'm so glad to hear she's doing well and you're doing an incredible job managing to express that much milk. Fingers crossed she can keep her body temp up and gets to come out of the incubator soon.

All good here - I'm aiming to wrap up work today so I can spend tomorrow doing my final Christmas bits before we head off for our week on Saturday. Cannot wait for a relaxing break!

Something about turning 32 weeks (and maybe two friends giving birth recently) has made me realise there is not much time at all until I get to meet the baby and I am getting so freaking excited!!! Have a fab Thursday everyone x

Morning ladies. Had a bit of a stressful scare this morning.
Got up at 5:45 to get ready to work and I was walking to the bathroom I felt lots of trickling down my leg; thought I'd peed myself (after the leaking discussions yesterday!) but when I walked into the bathroom it turned out to be brown blood down both my legs! Went to maternity triage where doctor checked my cervix - they said there is a lot of old, brown blood (including a clot, which was honestly quite scary) but nothing that they are too concerned with, especially as my placenta is posterior and not low. Baby's heartbeat is strong as well so hopefully all seems okay. I mentioned we were flying out on Monday and it almost looked like she was gonna say to cancel the holiday, but thankfully said since it isn't active bleeding she's happy for us to go!
So a very long and stressful morning but I'm just happy that baby is strong. I wish they had done a scan, but the doctor said it seems to be old blood still clearing out so it wasn't necessary. May mention to midwife at my 25 week appointment to see what she thinks.

@PippaPug I'll hopefully put some photos up when we have it set up 😊 would love to see yours as well! Thank you for letting me know about Fred and Noah - I think I'll probably end up ordering the fitted sheets and pram blanket! So cute!! I can imagine most of our items will end up being white and grey, since DH loves that combo (if it was up to him it would be the colour scheme in the whole house!).
Oh that is fair enough, you'd want somewhere that was easily accessible for appointments etc. I also assumed that any hospital would accept you.
I'm not surprised that the thought of not going to the hospital has crossed your mind, they haven't been the most reassuring to you! I hope speaking to the midwife today gives them the kick up the ass they need!!
Last night I would have said I'm doing great, but still a little anxious after this morning. I am feeling her move a bit, so hopefully will be okay as the day goes on!

@Lemonysherbet glad your appointment went well! Amazing you could hear her kicking, hopefully you'll start feeling them soon as well :)

@BabySquid ah what a beautiful name! Great to hear that you're both doing well and amazing on the expressing! Hope she'll be out of the incubator soon.

@purplefig I've been living in my leggings since I've bought them. It's a good thing I got a few 😂 they're so comfy!!
Oooh where are you off to for the week (sorry if you've already said!). That'll be an amazing break!
Ah not long till you'll be meeting baby, so excited for you!

I'm just on the way to work now (mostly because it's our Christmas do tonight). It's just a local pub, thankfully, but they do the most amazing pizzas which I'm very excited about. I probably won't stay too late but hopefully it'll be a good evening!

Have a lovely day all xx

Hi ladies! God I've got so much to catch up on! Been MIA since we went to centre specs mainly because after we got back my friend moved out (🙌🏻) so we've just been so busy doing all the house bits we needed to do and doing the nursery. Finally feel like we're on top of it now though at that I can relax a bit.
Managed to get a really nasty bite at work by a cat yesterday so now I'm on antibiotics 3x daily which are making me feel a bit sick, but other than that feeling good for 37+3. Can't believe I'm technically full term now where has the time gone?!

Hope everyone's well and enjoying their christmas build up!
