Getting a new one started before we are full! I’ll go back now and add people - answering everyone’s last posts here!!

@MrsR16 Nesting sounds like a good idea! Our house is such a mess at the moment mid-decorating and I cant wait for it all to be done so I can tidy!!

@BabySquid Fabulous bump! Glad you had such a brilliant time. I’m starting to think that pain sleeping is all just part and parcel of being pregnant now! At my yoga class everyone complains of it!

@Tropicana1 I’m sure there’s nothing to worry about!

@purplefig Yeah it was amazing to hear! Apparently IVF twins are more likely to be small but she never explained why. But yeah, induction is less likely for growth - it could still be needed for other reasons but it’s nice to have one of them off the list! How are you feeling, sleeping any better?

@ELW85 I did sleep a little bit better! I still woke up about 4:30 but slept all the way from 10 til then which is amazing! I feel like I’m slowly getting used to just being tired now! Glad you managed a better sleep!

@PippaPug Glad you got the radiator sorted! Yeah I’m amazed at how care changes from place to place but I think the main thing is as long as someone is seeing us at least once a month then that’s great!! How have you been feeling? I’m 24+4 today and really starting to feel uncomfortable now. My bump measured approx 32 weeks yesterday!! 32!!! She thinks they must be lying all at the front.

@cupcakesandglitter From doing some googling I think at the 28 week appt they’ll more start telling me what I can and can’t do in the birth - like start laying out all of my options? So I’m not gonna worry too much and wait to see what they say! My only ‘preference’ is everyone arrives happy and healthy and all are safe and well! I love the bong haha - how are you feeling today?

@MrsEG that was 3 years ago that she was pregnant - it's my sister who's pregnant at the moment! I have a big family... 😂 I haven't had any issues with swelling of ankles and feet, but I have had to take my wedding and engagement ring off, as they're now quite uncomfortable and if worst case scenario happens and I need emergency surgery or something, I do not want them to be cut off!

MrsEG · 25/11/2019 20:08

@MrsR16 Ha lots of sisters and now lots of babies! What’s not to love :) They can all grow up as best pals! Yep my engagement and wedding ring are off too - my sister had hers cut off and I did not want that happening!! Hmm I’ll keep an eye on the ankles and see what the midwife thinks of it!

Tropicana1 · 25/11/2019 20:44

Thanks @purplefig @MrsR16 @MrsEG was quite back breaking getting it all done in the weekend but I was a woman on a mission!

@purplefig it's just a B&Q furniture paint! After I chalk painted some furniture in the other room and realised what a bloody ballache chalk painting is to get even I looked for something a bit less hassle this time 😂 all you have to do is give the furniture a good clean then paint 2-3 coats!

@MrsR16 thanks he is an angel 😍

@MrsEG no foot and ankle swelling for me yet, but you do have twins so wouldn't be surprised if you get al your symptoms sooner! I have been sometimes wearing compression socks though as I started to get some bulgy calf veins from being on my feet all day at work and didn't want them to go full blown varicose veins if I can help it so thought the flight socks might help 😂

MrsH497 · 25/11/2019 20:45

Hey ladies! @Tropicana1 that furniture is stunning! @BostonFern I'm so glad you've had good post natal care. I made the mistake of reading a thread on MN which was essentially horror stories of especially post natal care (or lack of) and totally freaked myself out!

@TrashKitten10 oh she's so beautiful 😍

Well day 2 of being back at work still shattered when I get in, but just taking it slowly. X

MrsH497 · 26/11/2019 08:02

Day 3 of back to work and I'm wfh already as I'm back to being sick 😩 couldn't get medication quick enough so quiet day for me.

Have a good day ladies x

purplefig · 26/11/2019 09:23

@MrsR16 ahh but should that be the case, you have a great argument for staying put in your favourite armchair while everyone brings you delicious food all day long Grin

@MrsEG Yeah I don't blame you - I went out and bought some too even after laughing about our weird British ways! Ooo newborn snowsuits sound adorable. I legit cried over our penguin themed one, it's just so cute. Oh wow - we're going to be due right around the same time! And uhhh yes, I have loads left to sort - I'm nowhere near as organised as you Grin. Planning to scoop up loads of the bits we need new on Black Friday, then we've got a nearly new baby/kids sale to go to on the weekend where I'm hoping to get the rest. Then it's just a few bits for the nursery (nothing major, just new curtains, some art etc.). We're getting the car seat after Christmas with my grandparents. You've done so well getting ready for 28 weeks. I haven't had any major swelling yet (I am noticing more of an indent line where my socks are + my wedding ring is tight though). Would compression leggings help? Be fun trying to get into them now wouldn't it!? Grin

@Tropicana1 Yeah I asked as I've used chalk paint in the past and it is a total ball ache. That B&Q paint looks so, so good!

@MrsH497 Sorry to hear you're feeling sick again, that sucks. And I hear you on accidentally falling into mumsnet threads! I read one the other day that was basically trying to argue that natural childbirth was a bad idea because of the Shrewsbury and Telford maternity scandal. Queue a load of horror stories about natural birth. Totally my fault for reading as people have a right to share their stories and opinions...I just feel like I need to bathe in positive birth affirmations as a result Grin

Have a lovely Tuesday all! I'm working all day then have yoga tonight (which my back is seriously looking forward to) x

MrsEG · 26/11/2019 12:56

@Tropicana1 I do have some flight socks somewhere I’ll have to dig them out! Getting some serious cankles in the evenings haha! So is that all of your decorating done now?

@MrsH497 Oh no, have you managed to get your hands on some meds now?

@purplefig The snowsuits are so damn cute aren’t they!! I’ve missed all the nearly new sales near me but we’ve been gifted so much, I’d be mad to go to be honest (I’ll have to take a pick of the pile of newborn - 3 months clothes we have, it’s unreal!) I do have some compression leggings but I bet I couldn’t even get them over the knee now!! Enjoy the Black Friday shopping! From experience Amazon and John Lewis are usually pretty good on the day! Enjoy your yoga tonight :)

MrsR16 · 26/11/2019 15:53

@MrsH497 I'm sorry you're having a hard day today. I hope you're looking after yourself, lovely!

@purplefig this is very true! I'm just not looking forward to all the messages going "are you still pregnant?" "Have you not had that baby yet?", etc! 😂 but we'll see!

purplefig · 26/11/2019 16:01

@MrsEG ahh that's so nice people have got you loads of baby bits! We got an initial bundle from our only parent friends and my mum's picked up a few bits, but the nearly new sales and charity shops have been fab for stocking up without spending £10 on a sleepsuit that will be worn for a few months and repeatedly covered in vomit and poo Grin. You can get compression leggings for pregnancy, but probably not worth the hassle of getting into them. And knowing the delights of pregnancy, I'd probably end up with thrush anyway. Ahh joy. I'm so excited for yoga because my teacher has just text to say one of the ladies has given birth and is coming in to share her birth story with us! Hope you have a lovely evening too and can get comfy.

@MrsR16 oh yeah, the novelty of that will wear off very quickly I imagine! I wonder what is a non snippy reply that would nip it in the bud? "Not yet - don't worry about checking in, all good here and we'll let you know when they arrive!" ??

MrsR16 · 26/11/2019 16:50

@purplefig I (or DH to be honest) are more likely to go "just leave us alone, when we have news, we'll tell you, but not before!" 😂😂

MrsH497 · 26/11/2019 17:02

@MrsR16 @MrsEG @purplefig thanks ladies not been a good day on the sickness. Been sick twice I'm keeping water down so I'm happy I'm not dehydrated but my throat is so sore. Back to plain food and just hoping tomorrow is back to being better!

How is everyone

MrsR16 · 26/11/2019 17:45

@MrsH497 oh that's the worst! At least, as you say, you're staying hydrated. It's gotta be so frustrating for you!

MrsH497 · 26/11/2019 17:50

@MrsR16 it took me by surprise this morning. Felt rotten all day and have to go in tomorrow as I have a meeting. Going to ask to wfh Friday wonder if I'm doing too much too quickly

LokiCat · 26/11/2019 20:19

Hi all! Thanks for all the lovely comments re hearing the baby's heartbeat on Sunday night. It was such an emotional moment and also really surreal to think I've got a baby growing in me (I still don't believe it some day's, but I'm sure that'll change once I start feeling some kicks!).

@MrsR16 oh you look so glowy and your bump is so gorgeous! I'm glad you had a lovely baby shower and your sister's one went well as well.
Your nursery is so cute! I love the wallpaper and little Dumbo in the cot 😍 it must be amazing walking in there and seeing it all ready for little ones arrival.
How's the start of your maternity leave been so far?

@TrashKitten10 Daisy is so adorable, look at those cheeks!!
Hope your scar heals up okay; sounds like you're doing amazing keeping track of all things newborn. I can imagine it must all feel like such a blur!

@Lemonysherbet I hope you were able to speak to someone to get a better understanding about your results?
I can't wait till Xmas holidays start! It's dark when I leave for work and when I get home, not enjoying it at all!

@purplefig brilliant you've got the car seat sorted, must have been a relief to get it ticked off your list! Looks like you've gone for the same one we have, I did read great reviews about it!
We probably won't have our tree up by Sunday, but we're having our friends round for our annual Christmas lunch (slightly earlier this year!), so will definitely have all the Christmassy decorations up and music playing to start the festive feels 😁 I'm so excited!
Can't believe it's 11 weeks till your little bub arrives! eeeek time is flying!

@MrsEG ah sorry to hear you're suffering with a cold as well! I hope you're feeling better? My throat is so sore from all the coughing, as is my nose from constantly blowing it. I definitely look like Rudolph with a red nose 🙈
That's great that you managed to get your baby monitor in a Black Friday deal!
It must be so nice to put away all the baby clothes in the nursery. The few we have are still in bags waiting for when the nursery is set up; I still love taking them out and just gushing at the cuteness 😁

@PippaPug glad wayfair have finally figured out what was wrong and will hopefully rectify it all this time! What a waste of time for you to constantly be chasing up these calls to sort it all out, though.

@BabySquid happy 29 weeks for yesterday! Can't believe you only have 11 weeks to go, how exciting!
I'm sure you'll have everything ready in time. Hope your mum is prepared with the credit card for lots of baby shopping this weekend (sounds like a great weekend to me! 😁).

@stormtrooperjulian I hope you and the little one are doing well? Thanks for the name of the app! I read about it a little while ago but couldn't remember the name. Will download it now before I forget again!

@BostonFern glad to hear your recovering well and that you received such great care through it all. Ronnie is a lovely name! Congrats again :)

@Tropicana1 wow, what a transformation! Great job! Also your little kitty is sooo cute! Glad to hear he's doing well.

@MrsH497 sorry to hear you're feeling sick again! Glad you're able to be at home though, hope you feel better soon!

19 weeks today, I can't believe it! Almost two weeks till our next scan; so excited 😁
My cold unfortunately hasn't got any better, so I pretty left work two hours after I got in to go home. Have taken tomorrow off to recover as well. My day has pretty much been filled with Netflix and naps. I just hope I'm better soon, so tired of all the coughing!
Also, me and DH are supposed to be going to a musical on Friday night. I really don't want to be coughing throughout! 🙈

Hope you're all well xx

MrsEG · 26/11/2019 20:59

@purplefig Ha! Yeah I can imagine compression leggings right now would be...uncomfortable to say the least! I’m sure I have some flight socks somewhere I can try. Oh how lovely someone is popping in with her birth story! Hopefully it’s a lovely reassuring one!

@MrsH497 Look after yourself lovely x

@LokiCat I feel your pain! My cold is a little better but my throat is raw. Currently just feel like I ache head to toe! 19 weeks already, where has that time gone?! The time til your 20-week scan will fly now - it’s such a fab scan too, so detailed!

Spent most of yesterday and all of today fantasising about a Terry’s chocolate orange and DH has just come home with one. It really is the little things! I’m trying my best to eat healthily at the moment... but I mean, it has the word ‘orange’ in it so it’s basically a fruit right!?

OP posts:
MrsR16 · 26/11/2019 22:19

@MrsH497 oh goodness, lovely, you sound like you're having a right old time of it! Just take it easy - it might be a case of yes, you're doing too much too soon. The most important thing is that you and baby are ok - work will have to deal with it.

@LokiCat aw thanks hun! It really is amazing - brings it all home that this is actually happening and in (hopefully) absolutely no more than 5 weeks' time, I'm going to have our own little person here! Who does keep reminding me that they're definitely here - I'm in the car and it loves being in the car! Kicking away 😂

@MrsEG it absolutely counts as fruit! That's what I keep telling myself anyway 😂😂 I do love chocolate orange!

purplefig · 27/11/2019 09:14

@MrsR16 hahahaa well that'd certainly get the point across!

@MrsH497 oh that's rubbish - how many weeks are you now lovely?

@LokiCat An annual friends Christmas lunch - what a lovely idea! And that'll certainly get you in the mood for putting up the tree I reckon Grin. I hope your cold clears up soon, they are especially dreadful when pregnant.

@MrsEG Tezza's chocolate orange definitely counts as one of your five a day. I'm almost sure of it. Grin

Happy Wednesday everyone! How are we all? My back is really playing up at the moment, but that isn't new or interesting! Yoga last night was lovely - one of the graduates bought her 1 week old baby in and oh my goodness...the cuteness! She also shared her birth story, which was so lovely and reassuring to hear. I was so happy for her as well, as she'd had quite a traumatic experience the first time around.

Anyone up to much today? I've got work as per and then if my back is up to it, we're going to hobble off to the Christmas markets this evening for a mosey about and a festive hot chocolate. Have a good one! x

PippaPug · 27/11/2019 10:20

Morning everyone!

First day at work for me this week, I work weds/thurs/Fri - and managed to get the baby asleep in their own cot without rocking 🎉 so I’m having a break (only been at work a hour 😂) as not a clue if he will nap later!

Wayfair update - they picked all 7 boxes up from our lounge yesterday and within 30 mins got a email saying they have cancelled our order with a snotty email 🤬 I rung up burst into tears of anger and frustration down the phone and demanded to speak to the manager who is most apologetic - not a clue why we got a cancellation email as our order hasn’t been cancelled and will be speaking to the member of staff who emailed us. The email was saying that we were wrong and they shipped the right one in the first place but they “appreciate that it might not be as you originally anticipated” its a completely different colour and we sent photos to prove it too! Manager is on it now after I sobbed down the phone, given me her personal work number and email and I’m too call her with any issues now, she is calling me this afternoon to let me know what is happening.

@MrsR16 - glad the baby shower went well!

@purplefig - they are continuing to muck it up but I will get through this - and will never order from them again! How are you?

@BabySquid - how’s the injections going?

@TrashKitten10 - how are you and Daisy? Hopefully both enjoying cuddles and call the midwife! Daisy looks a little poppet!
We are taking a bottle of nail varnish in (can’t decide what colour 😂) and will paint one of their big toes (just got to remember which names we have given them😂) and hoping to tell the difference quite soon?!
I may look at some kind of colour for one and colour for another but currently they both have matching clothes.
Will keep their hospital bracelets on for a bit too 🙈

@BostonFern - Ronnie is a adorable name! Congratulations again!

@MrsEG - How are you and the little ones doing? Non bio is great but rubbish at getting stains out 😭 I have totally been there and got that t shirt! Have you heard of napisan?

@Tropicana1 - furniture looks fab - well done you! Really pleased your cat is on the mend!

@MrsH497 - How are you doing today? Take it easy at work and go home if you need too.

@LokiCat - how are you and bump doing?

I have pretty much decided I’m going to finish work either the week before Christmas or week between Christmas and NY....It’s slowly taking its toll on my body and I think although I will be 30/31 weeks pregnant I think it will be time to slow down by then. Just got the worry of self employed mat leave!

I know most of you go home of the evening instead of staying at your work for a few days, but wondering did you/do you carry your notes on you at all times? I packed them this week as a just incase and think I will do it each night I’m away from home but if I was going to London for the day I don’t think I would as they are huge!

MrsH497 · 27/11/2019 11:00

@PippaPug @purplefig I'm 15+4 now got a meeting today and doing ok so far! Intend on going home after the meeting though!

@PippaPug that's so bad. Really hope you get it sorted x

MrsEG · 27/11/2019 13:15

@MrsR16 @purplefig Glad it’s not just me - I’m obsessed with all the Christmas treats about at the moment, I reckon I’ll have moved on to Toblerone by weekend!!

@purplefig Glad yoga was great and you heard such a good story! And tiny baby cuddles too 😍 I have yoga tonight, I’m trying to go as much as I can now while I still can! Is your back feeling better for it today? Enjoy the Christmas markets! We have massive ones in Manchester but they get so busy it puts me off going!

@PippaPug Bloody Wayfair! I’m glad the manager is all over it now for you though! I take my notes absolutely everywhere - I have quite a big bag so they fit in okay. Midwife mentioned I should always have them to hand so I’ve just always kept them in there! I think that sounds really sensible re: mat leave, I’ll be done by 18 Dec and I’m already struggling! So looking forward to putting my feet up! Nope, what’s napisan?

Well I had a rubbish evening! Woke at 2 in pain, was wriggling about to get comfy and got a text from my milkman saying my card had been declined, closely followed by a text from the bank about suspected fraud! Queue me on the phone to the fraud team at 2:30am trying to sort it out....... all sorted now but I’ve basically been awake since! WFH at the mo but heading for a lunchtime power nap soon!

Also had a bit (a lot) of a freak out last night. I feel so unprepared for motherhood. Like if the babies arrived right now I wouldn’t know how to feed them, bathe them, dress them, anything. I lost it last night and cried my eyes out; forgetting I have NCT starting next week and a plethora of friends with kids to speak to...!

OP posts:
PippaPug · 27/11/2019 13:38

@MrsH497 - Thanks so do I! Apparently the manager is on it now and already rung me twice today letting me know what’s going on (but I haven’t been able to answer it as working) I hope your on the way home after your meeting now!

@MrsEG - I only want the cabinet as it’s the biggest and wisest we have seen and I don’t really want two cabinets side by side (we are looking to sell next year and so don’t want the room to look overcrowded) I’m asking for another discount now as this is far from good service!
My notes are huge and I hate handbags 🙈 so day to day I don’t - but I will be carrying them up to work with me from now on.
I have also updated my medical ID on my phone incase I pass out or something and people will know I’m expecting twins and the EDD.

Napisan - is amazing! It helps get all the stains out esp when using non bio (yellow poo and white baby grows 😭) you soak it over night and then wash it - very handy to have! Also sunlight can help fade stains - doesn’t even have to be a sunny day.
Oh noooo that’s really stressful and not a good way to start your day, glad it’s all sorted now!

I know this isn’t much comfort for you but I would say honestly 95% of mothers feel this way about having babies - I promise you!
And if we are being honest, I have totally freaked out at points of my pregnancy, about the idea of two - how am I going to feed them, make sure I get equal time with both, what if I can only name one 🤨
I’m worried I’m not coping very well with pregnancy (everyone else seems to sail through it) how I’m going to cope with labour (esp as a lot of my choices what I have wanted I can’t have) how is breastfeeding going to go (because I really want to do it) i even panicked that the nursery is no where near ready!
it’s so so normal - and doesn’t help with all the hormones! I also know I have helped so many mothers with little ones, but I know how different it will be with my own (and that also worries me!) been able to get most babies sleeping through between 6months and 12months - Kalma is going to bite me and my two won’t sleep through till they are 3 I’m sure of it 😭😂

MrsEG · 27/11/2019 15:15

@PippaPug Ah thanks lovely - I feel totally the same; how will I get them to sleep, how will I cope with two when I’m on my own, how and when will they arrive! It’s so overwhelming when you sit and think about it isn’t it?! If it makes you feel any better I feel the same on pregnancy, and sometimes it makes me feel a bit guilty as I’ve wanted it so long. The PGP, lack of sleep, heartburn makes me really miserable some days and I see people sailing through pregnancy and get so jealous!
Napisan sounds amazing - could I use it with cloth nappies too?
Yeah I’m a backpack girl - I have my ‘fancy’ and everyday ones so luckily my notes have slipped in just fine!
Really hope you get things sorted with these cabinets today - you’ll have to post up a pic when they’re finally with you and all set up!

MrsR16 · 27/11/2019 15:18

@purplefig I hope your evening goes well! Christmas markets sound fun 😊 I bet last night made you so excited to meet your little one! I ventured out food shopping today and that was a real struggle! I've been recovering on the sofa since! Not sure if I've been having braxton Hicks or not, which hasn't really helped! 😂 however, I am officially classed as full term today! 🎉🎉🎉

@PippaPug oh goodness! At least the manager's all over it! I have very little in the way of mat notes - all of mine are online!

@MrsEG I keep having more of a panic! Completely understand where you're coming from. It's why I haven't finished packing my hospital bag, as it gets to me every time! It's so silly though - it's happening and will be sooner rather than later! 😂 you will be absolutely fine and a wonderful mummy to your two boys!

LikeTheFruit · 27/11/2019 15:21

Hi everyone

I've been terrible at keeping up with this thread. I deleted the Mumsnet app from my phone as was wasting time ++ and keep forgetting to check in!

I'm 25+5 today, can't believe it!! Where is the time going?! And I've bought nothing so far 😂😂. Also mid house renovations too, never do anything by halves! We had a fab time un New York a couple of weeks ago, very jealous of those of you who are going soon @ELW85 and @LokiCat if I remember correctly. Have to say was pretty sore in pelvis after flights which took a full day to settle down.

Finally getting a bump, defo in process of popping! Got mat leave forms all in so only 12 working weeks to go 🎉🎉. My in-laws were due to visit but have pulled out so looks like me and DH are going to go away to a wee cottage in middle of nowhere for a few days instead! Bliss!

Currently knackered after working 6 days in a row (66 hours gah!) then going to a power up class, determined to stay as fit as I can for as long as I can.

Huge congratulations to @thumper59 and @BostonFern on your gorgeous new arrivals!

Hope everyone is well and wonder how many little elves for Santa we'll see before Xmas!

My first bump pick at 25 weeks. Excuse my sexy work outfit! X

Catching up with TTC #1, thread 8!
purplefig · 27/11/2019 17:12

@PippaPug oh my god you have had such a dreadful experience with them! So glad you've found a sympathetic manager at least. So, so, so poor. I'm alright thanks - my back is pretty much sore every day now, but coping with it. Could be so tempted to sack off work after Christmas too Grin. I don't take my notes with me, though we're away (only an hour from home) over Christmas and I'll be 33/34 weeks, so I'll take them then.

@MrsEG do you know what...I abused my back all day as I knew I had yoga, and consequently yoga caned. I will learn my lesson! Hope yours is more relaxing. What a horrible night you've had - glad you managed to sort the bank stuff out (always horrid!) and get a power nap in. Must be something about the 26th...I had a proper bawling my eyes out melt down yesterday too (though more about daily back pain and not being able to work properly!). I've really got a lot of hopes pinned on NCT too! You've got your sister too, which should be heplful? Big hugs - it's a bloody big thing we're all embarking on.

@MrsR16 officially full term today?! Ahh that is amazing - congrats! Not long for you to go now Grin food shopping is quite enough for one day, I say to the sofa you go!

@LikeTheFruit oh man, I can't imagine doing renovations and pregnancy at once - that must really take it out of you! Enjoy your cottage break, that sounds lovely.

Scheduled to piss it down at the Christmas markets, but damnit, I am getting my festive hot chocolate regardless! Have a lovely evening everyone x
