Getting a new one started before we are full! I’ll go back now and add people - answering everyone’s last posts here!!

@MrsR16 Nesting sounds like a good idea! Our house is such a mess at the moment mid-decorating and I cant wait for it all to be done so I can tidy!!

@BabySquid Fabulous bump! Glad you had such a brilliant time. I’m starting to think that pain sleeping is all just part and parcel of being pregnant now! At my yoga class everyone complains of it!

@Tropicana1 I’m sure there’s nothing to worry about!

@purplefig Yeah it was amazing to hear! Apparently IVF twins are more likely to be small but she never explained why. But yeah, induction is less likely for growth - it could still be needed for other reasons but it’s nice to have one of them off the list! How are you feeling, sleeping any better?

@ELW85 I did sleep a little bit better! I still woke up about 4:30 but slept all the way from 10 til then which is amazing! I feel like I’m slowly getting used to just being tired now! Glad you managed a better sleep!

@PippaPug Glad you got the radiator sorted! Yeah I’m amazed at how care changes from place to place but I think the main thing is as long as someone is seeing us at least once a month then that’s great!! How have you been feeling? I’m 24+4 today and really starting to feel uncomfortable now. My bump measured approx 32 weeks yesterday!! 32!!! She thinks they must be lying all at the front.

@cupcakesandglitter From doing some googling I think at the 28 week appt they’ll more start telling me what I can and can’t do in the birth - like start laying out all of my options? So I’m not gonna worry too much and wait to see what they say! My only ‘preference’ is everyone arrives happy and healthy and all are safe and well! I love the bong haha - how are you feeling today?

@Fivebyfive2 Oh bless your mum, are you due at Christmas? We’re at my mums for Xmas day too and she keeps going on about how she’s so close to the hospital ‘so that’s good’ - I’ll hopefully have another 5 weeks left though haha! I’m like ‘I’m planning on just putting my feet up and eating Quality Street!’
How lovely you’ve got your first NCT meet up sorted already!

@MrsR16 Did you have a lovely shower? How was the one today? Oh I so wish I could just wear my comfies to mine - my sister has organised it and gotten so carried away, apparently 28 people are going?! I don’t think I know that many people??

@BostonFern Oh well done you!! Congratulations! He is a beauty :) Do you have any names picked out? I’m so pleased you had a positive experience; I bet you’re just so glad he’s here!

Huge congratulations @BostonFern hope you're doing ok x

LokiCat · 24/11/2019 19:10

Hey ladies, hope you're all well and have had a nice weekend!
My spotting started again yesterday and continued till today, so called up and they advised me to go in to maternity triage to make sure all is okay, because it's been almost a week since it started. We heard the baby's heartbeat which was so amazing, midwife said it sounded very strong 🥰 they took a sample of the discharge as well to make sure all is okay and will call me if something seems wrong. I'm happy we went in and I can rest easy now knowing everything is okay! We went to a dessert place on the way home to celebrate; the triple chocolate fudge cake definitely hit the spot 😁

@MrsEG that must have been so scary, but I'm so glad all is okay with the twins! I definitely think it's better being safe and getting checked out to make sure all is okay; definitely don't feel like an idiot for worrying and going in.

@thumper59 awww little Freddie is absolutely gorgeous! You also look so great! Glad you have managed to get into a routine. Can't believe he's already two weeks old!

@purplefig oh no, sorry to hear you got such a shock with the doctors phone call! They really should be extra sensitive when making phone calls like that. It's so easy to start panicking!
I hope car seat shopping went well?

@Lemonysherbet that's brilliant that you had a low risk result, exactly what you want to see. My letter had the number for the antenatal screening unit, so I gave them a ring to discuss it over. That's always helpful if you wanted clarification on anything!

@PippaPug I can't believe they got it wrong a third time! How frustrating! You would have thought they'd take extra care considering the first two errors. Is it worth just cancelling the order completely and going with someone else?

@ELW85 ooh I hope date night was nice last night! What did you do?

@MrsEG ah sorry to hear you had an early start due to the PGP.
Hope you had a nice Christmas lunch 😊

@Fivebyfive2 the NCT class sounds great, glad it was so useful! Hope shopping was successful today!

@MrsR16 I hope you had a lovely baby shower yesterday!! That must have been so special.
I can't wait to see pics of your nursery :)

@BostonFern ahh congratulations!! He is adorable. Glad you had a positive experience. Enjoy lots of cuddles and kisses with your little one 😊

DH has unfortunately given me a cold, so I'm currently in bed coughing away. I really hope it doesn't get any worse!

Have a good Sunday night ladies x

MrsR16 · 24/11/2019 19:48

@MrsH497 I find the simplicity ok! But before I got pregnant I was fairly fit, so maybe my heavy is different to someone else's! Definitely worth a look though and seeing which one you prefer.

@BostonFern oh wow!! He is absolutely beautiful! Congratulations and well done, Mummy!

@MrsEG it was lovely yesterday! Was thoroughly spoiled with presents (some of which are in the picture!) 😊 I was given a letter from my eldest sister (lives in the States, but we're super close so both of us are finding it hard being 4,500 miles away from each other) which made me cry because it was just so lovely! The one today was lovely, but I am now absolutely exhausted! Ready for bed (although I need to catch up on Strictly first). 28 people? Goodness! 😂

@LokiCat I got home from my sister's baby shower today and DH has officially finished the nursery! I have taken loads of photos, but won't bombard you all with the whole lot! This is the best one 😊 I'm so glad everything's ok with you and your little one!

@MrsR16, glad your baby shower went well, love the pics 😀

@lokicat, what a relief all was OK at the hospital, so pleased that you feel reassured xx

@Bostonfern, look at him, he's just perfect!! Do you have any names yet? Also, really good to hear you had a positive experience at the hospital and the after care was good... It's put my mind at ease anyway! Xxx

@MrsEG, omg 28 people?! I have a feeling my bro maaayyy have reigned my sil in a little with the planning 😂 She is delightfully 'extra' so I can imagine him reminding her I hate a massive fuss! I'm due 9th Jan, but have a scan on 16th Dec when I'll be almost 37 weeks and if he is still in his weird position, it might be an early c section or a hospital stay to be monitored... So all up in the air right now.

Ladies, this time next week will be December!! 😀🎄

TrashKitten10 · 25/11/2019 05:31

Congratulations @thumper59 and @BostonFern on your beautiful baby boys!

@MrsR16 Your baby shower and nursery look fab and you look great! Does it all feel more real now walking into the completed nursery?

@LokiCat sorry to hear you had a bit of a scare but at least you got to hear the heartbeat and eat cake for the trouble of having to head to the hospital ☺️

@PippaPug Unbelievable way fair could have got it so wrong, three times! I've only ordered from them once and that was a shambles, although the product was good. Shame they can't get their act together on delivering the right product at the right time.

@Fivebyfive2 How sweet your parents are planning for every eventuality! :) bet it was exciting to finish your NCT classes and plan the mass meet up!

@MrsEG Hope you had a lovely early Xmas dinner and the gaviscon made it bearable. It was a few days after giving birth I had the realisation I wasn't ridiculously full of gas anymore (I'd counted out of disbelief anyone could be so gassy and had burped 135 times one day in pregnancy 😂) it's strange how after birth all the weird and wonderful symptoms and aches and pains just stopped. Hopefully both your indigestion and PGP will disappear as easily.

Hope everyone is well. Daisy is four weeks tomorrow and the time is absolutely flying! She's currently sleeping on my chest, grunting and squeaking like a piglet and farting away 😂 She has had a weepy belly button since the cord fell off and I've had a weepy c-section scar so we are both on antibiotics. Oh my life, adding antibiotic timings to the general madness of newborn life and trying to keep track of her having her cream three times a day, me having my tablets four times a day, remembering when I last changed and fed her and whether I have eaten or washed that day, I don't know if I'm coming or going! 🙈 On a kind of related note, nobody told me in the early days how much you're asked about feeds and nappies. Everyone who comes to see you enquires into how they're feeding, how much milk they're taking if bottle fed and how many wet and dirty nappies they've had. You lot might be better than me but I barely knew what day it was at the start, never mind trying to recall the nappies I'd dealt with over the previous 24 hours. DH started up a notebook we used for the first week and I wrote down the time of each feed, how many ounces she had taken and the timings and details 🥴 of the nappies. A bit of overkill maybe and I think it would drive you mad doing for too long but I'd really recommend it for the first few days. I just then handed it to my midwife when she asked rather than trying to remember off the top of my head.

Lemonysherbet · 25/11/2019 06:43

Thanks all, yes it's really good news in low risk, I just wish they had an idiot's guide to what all the numbers meant on the letter. It has a phone number but it's Monday to Friday and it arrived in the Saturday post to let me dwell on it all weekend!

@PippaPug that's awful with Wayfair, you've been so unlucky with them. I've used them a few times and had no issues. It will be the individual seller they're using who's crap. Can you get a complete refund and go elsewhere?

@Fivebyfive2 how was NCT? It's one of the first things my midwife spoke about but only one of my friends has done it so it's hard to gauge if it's worth the money. Exciting about the family chats though, what date are you due?

@BostonFern congratulations to you, you must be so elated right now. He's incredible! How are you feeling?

@LokiCat glad you went in and got to bear the heart beat, it's worrying enough at the best of times without having spotting. I hope it stops soon and the cold sods off!

@MrsR16 you looking beautiful, that's what I call I pregnancy glow! Also I love your nursery. We were planning similar colours but with Winnie the Pooh :)

@TrashKitten10 oh that's so adorable, even the farting 😂 thanks for the tip, I've been told by friends it's a big blurry dream at the start but until you're in it I don't think anyone ever really appreciates it.

Happy Monday all, 4 weeks at work until an Xmas break, I hate wishing my life away but I want them to fly by (or at least mon-fri 9.-5!). It's so dark when I wake up now I just can't motivate myself out of bed.

purplefig · 25/11/2019 09:23

@MrsH497 congrats on the return to work - how're you feeling now? Very well earned mince pie! I'm stocking up on some next Sunday as it's Christmas tree decorating day here Grin

@thumper59 You and Freddie both look super happy and content! Glad to hear you're getting into the swing of things, sounds like you're doing amazingly.

@MrsEG haha yeah you're right about clients - they'd have to be incredibly unreasonable to not take 'wife in labour' as a valid reason for cancelling a session. Yeah annoyingly I do already eat tonnes of greens and lentils/beans/pulses daily (other than in the first trimester!), so not sure what else to do. I spoke to a midwife friend who said it's incredibly common at this stage, so don't stress basically. Plus it's only very borderline, which I think is why they're re-testing in a couple of weeks. Do you find PGP hurts more on the weekends? My back always flares up more and I think it's because I'm generally doing much more. Bloody sucks though - just think not only will you be getting two babies, but also hopefully the alleviation of this daily pain! How was your Christmas lunch? Sounds so lovely...and end of Nov is totally appropriate imho Grin

@ELW85 yeah you're right about HBC and it's 10000% Tim's fault. She does often get typecast, but there's no excuse for playing Margaret like a well spoken Bellatrix!

@PippaPug oh my god your Friday sounds dreadful! I hope you had a lovely relaxing weekend to make up for it?! Oh my goodness Wayfair are having a total mare!!

@BabySquid glad everything is positive with the diabetes management so far, though the finger prick test five times a day sounds like a right ball ache! How's the decorating going?

@Fivebyfive2 glad to hear you've enjoyed NCT so much - we start ours soon and I'm unreasonably excited! Any tips?!

@MrsR16 yeah it did give me a bit of a freak out, but all good now! You look amazing and so glowy at your baby shower! So lovely your sister must be due around the same time as you?

@BostonFern oh my goodness congratulations! What a gorgeous little bundle!! Huge well done to you you absolute wonder woman! Grin

@LokiCat sorry to hear about the spotting, so glad you went in and got to hear the heartbeat though. And triple chocolate fudge cake sounds like the perfect ending! Hope your cold improves soon, they are grim (especially when pregnant)!

@TrashKitten10 It sounds like you're doing an amazing job! It must be really tricky throwing antibiotic timings into the craziness of newborn life - great tip on writing down feeds/nappies. I think there is an app you can download as well, that someone on here mentioned. Helpfully, I can't remember the name of it!

Happy Monday! I had a pretty lovely weekend - Saturday we went to Halfords and finally decided on a car seat. That's a big one ticked off the list! We've also been through our list and worked out what's left to get / when we're getting it etc. Otherwise we mainly chilled. We did go out with friends on Saturday night but I was home at 10pm (with sober cheesy chips in hand) as my back was raging.

I am SO EXCITED for the upcoming weeks...we're officially in December next weekend! Who else is putting their tree up on Dec 1st?! x

MrsEG · 25/11/2019 10:29

@LokiCat So glad you feel reassured! How many weeks are you now? I had some beige-y discharge for a while but it was just the placentas getting really stuck in apparently! Yeah I’m definitely glad I went in, I’d have worried about it all day otherwise and they were nothing other than lovely about it! I’m stuck with such a rotten cold too - the sneezing I can deal with but the sore throat is hell when you can’t take anything! Hope you’re feeling better soon.

@MrsR16 Oh you look lovely and the nursery is gorgeous!! How lovely of both your sisters too! So pleased you had such a lovely day/weekend. Enjoy your first official week of mat leave!

@Fivebyfive2 My sister is exactly the same, she is as ‘extra’ as they come! When she asked me if she could throw me a shower I was a bit ‘erm okayyy’ but asked to keep it simple at home. Next thing I know I get a text to say she’s had to book a venue as ‘there’s so many coming they won’t fit in someone’s house’ 🙈 My BIL is just as bad so I have no one to control her haha! Oh wow so you could be in for a Christmas baby! How exciting. DH was born on Xmas Day - he was on the news!!

@TrashKitten10 Oh I cannot wait!! The idea that all these ailments could just disappear as soon as babies are here makes this final stretch feel even longer haha, come on due date!! Ahh, Daisy sounds absolutely fab! Hope your scar heals up well. We’ve actually been advised to have a notebook or even a whiteboard (!!) to track those early weeks especially to try and remember which twin woke when, and which one you fed first, etc!! So it’s pretty good advice, it seems! Hope you’re settling in to Motherhood well :)

@Lemonysherbet I have no motivation at all now; 3 weeks til I finish up at work and I’m very much ‘not my problem’ during meetings etc now! That Xmas break will be here before you know it!

@purplefig My PGP is 100 times worse when I am having to do anything more than sit on the sofa. It was so bad yesterday morning that it took me 2 hours to get out of bed and today I have a limp. I’m understanding and accepting more and more now that I just have to take it easy! So glad you got the car seat sorted, which did you go for? So good to get the ‘big’ stuff ticked off the list isn’t it! Jealous of those cheesy chips haha! Yeah I’m sure the anaemia is pretty normal - it’s been mentioned to me even though I don’t have it! Apparently it’s a simple as an iron supplement for the last tri.

Happy Monday all! The baby monitor we were eyeing up finally went in to the black Friday sale today so that’s purchased. Also picked up some feeding/booster seats and a friend has gifted us a baby bath! We sorted through all the baby clothes we’ve been given last night and my god - these boys could wear a different outfit every single day until they’re about 6 months old!! Getting it all washed today so we can start putting it away in the nursery. Other than that, limping around on my very bad pelvis but taking it very easy to stop aggravating it. Feels pants to be so immobile but it’s only for another 10 weeks!

OP posts:
PippaPug · 25/11/2019 10:42

Hello,

I’m feeling slightly more rational then I was on Saturday evening! Thanks for the lovely messages @MrsEG @Fivebyfive2 @MrsR16 @Lemonysherbet @purplefig @TrashKitten10 @lokicat about wayfair!

I calmly called wayfair again yesterday and we worked out I’m being sent a completely different unit and the labelling on the box is wrong, so when they are picking up the unit the label is correct on the box but it’s wrong inside.
So after me being on the phone for 45 mins we have sorted out that they will pick all 7 boxes up (I have pointed out I now can’t walk in my lounge safely as the boxes are everywhere) and they are going to check the boxes before they are delivered and when it’s delivered I’m too open it when the delivery drivers are here (and they will be told this) it should be here in a week or so again!
This is the last chance we are giving them....the problem is it’s the only one we have seen at this huge size, and it’s also for deep drawers in it so we do really want it. They offered for us to keep the current units at a discount but I will just look at them and regret we just stuck with them so we are giving them one more chance, but I’m not to hopeful.

@BabySquid - my mum loved coming to see the scan as well as she said she only got one when she was pregnant with me to confirm the pregnancy! I’m glad your able to see about controlling it with diet and exercise - fingers crossed that helps! I hope the finger pricks aren’t hurting as much now?

@Tropicana1 - your weekend sounds good, it’s good to relax and chill out sometimes! Is your Cat doing any better?

@lemonysherbert - can you ring up today and have a chat with them, they are always so good at putting my mind at ease!

@mrsR16 - I hope you had a wonderful baby shower! You look glowing in your photo!

@lokicat - sorry to hear about the spotting but so pleased you got see little one and hear their heartbeat going so strongly! I bet that put your mind at ease!

@BostonFern - Congratulations on your beautiful little one! I hope your managing some rest and enjoying lots of snuggles! Any names?

@Trashkitten10 - sorry to hear you and Daisy have infections - hopefully they will clear ASAP! Lots of rest for you both 💐

How’s everyone’s Monday going?

PippaPug · 25/11/2019 10:48

@MrsEG - take it easy whilst you can! Everyone I know who has had PGP has gone pretty much after birth so I’m sure yours will be the same!

I love washing baby clothes when your waiting for them to arrive! We are waiting till the nursery is done (whenever that may be!) I’m itching to pull the wallpaper up today....but I just know it won’t help my back and I don’t want to be in any pain for work so I’m resisting (currently!)

MrsR16 · 25/11/2019 12:01

@Fivebyfive2 I honestly can't believe it's December next week!! Crazy where this year has gone!

@TrashKitten10 thank you lovely! I had a bit of a moment when DH and I were in there... it is sinking in, but still feels surreal! Daisy's 4 weeks old?!? That's crazy! Great tips though, thanks! I'll certainly be taking those on board!

@Lemonysherbet aw thank you! I'm excited to see your nursery!

@purplefig thank you! My sister's due on 28th January but has a habit of delivering early... 😂 I'm so excited you got your car seat!! That's a massive relief for sure! My friend is coming round next weekend to put my Christmas decs up 🤣 she's determined that if baby's here on time, we'll have lots of photos of Christmas time!

@MrsEG thanks Hun! I'm sorry to hear you're really struggling today with your PGP! That can't be easy... I'm struggling anyway, so god knows what you're going through.

@PippaPug what a palaver! At least they're going to come and pick everything up to get it out your way! The baby shower was lovely thank you 😊 just enough of a celebration without being too overboard for me!

purplefig · 25/11/2019 12:18

@MrsEG ooo yay for a black friday baby purchase - that is satisfying! We picked up a baby bath too - I'm not sure if it'll get used or not, but DH was adamant that his 'Pregnancy for men' said we needed one so we did. Sounds like you've got so many clothes sorted for the boys, that is so nice knowing you don't have to even think about clothes for half a year. Sorry to hear your PGP is so painful and immobilising, but it sounds like you're in a good headspace with it all things considered. 10 weeks will hopefully fly by, especially with the excitement of Christmas! Can't be long left at work for you now? Then I think you should prescribe yourself lots of festive Netflix binging and sofa naps. So we're going with the Maxi-Cosi CabrioFix and the FamilyFix isofix base. Mainly because a) that base will fit the next size up b) it has a handle and we don't have a driveway c) we can get adapters so it'll fit on the out n about pushchair and d) it can be fitted via seat belt, which will be handy if my parents have them.

@PippaPug HOW can they f it up so many times?! So frustrating. I really, really hope they get it right this time.

@MrsR16 Ahhh that's so lovely and what's your due date again? Amazing to think they might be here for Christmas!

MrsR16 · 25/11/2019 12:25

@purplefig my due date's the 18th, so I'm desperately hoping to be done and dusted, at home in time for Christmas! It'll just be so amazing to have the three of us together with no-one else around just to have those memories (even though we will probably spend the day sleeping!) 😂

BabySquid · 25/11/2019 13:14

@LokiCat sorry to hear the spotting started but it's good they've taken a sample for testing. Also glad the dessert helped 🤤 hope your cold is feeling better?
@MrsR16oh my gosh your wallpaper is amazing 😍 I love it. Are those the dumbo curtains from Dunelm? Glad you had a baby shower and just you saying about the letter from your sister made me well up!
@Lemonysherbet totally with you on the wishing 9-5 away! I've got 38 working days left inc today till mat leave!!
@purplefig decorating went well so far, got both grey walls done, doing the two white ones tomorrow, then glossing Friday. Which car seat did you go for in the end?
@PippaPug I've moved on to a different finger 🙈 it's just after when I'm doing something it hurts!

So 29 weeks today! Can't believe I've only 11 weeks to go (good things about having GD, I won't go too far past due date if at all!) although a lady at work has told me her daughters friend gave birth yesterday which is two months early and now I've got the willys that I've nothing really prepared, not even vests and sleep suits!! So shopping this weekend!! We made a list of everything we need yesterday so hopefully I'll remember to take it to my mums and we can go into mothercare while in Metrocentre and she can get credit card out haha 😂

stormtrooperjulian · 25/11/2019 13:17

I've been lurking around here keeping up with the thread, I hope everyone is doing ok!

@BostonFern congratulations lovely!

@TrashKitten10 you look amazing, I don't know how you do it!

For those talking about using a notebook to keep track of feeds etc, I'm using an app called Baby Tracker. Much more convenient than using a notebook, can track feeds and nappies and sleep etc. I mainly use it to track feeds (I only tracked nappies for the first couple of weeks), it has a timer for each side and tells you which side you started on the previous time so you can alternate. I recommend it, very useful 😊

MrsR16 · 25/11/2019 13:55

@BabySquid yes they are from Dunelm! I was going to get the matching lampshade too, but they'd stopped doing it by the time I'd sorted my life out enough to attempt to buy it! So we just have a baby elephant lampshade instead 🙈 the wallpaper's also from Dunelm! 29 weeks? God, I absolutely remember when you posted that you were pregnant! Doesn't seem that long ago! I still need to get a few bits and pieces, but nothing major now (thankfully!) my parents are coming up in a couple of weeks so we can all go shopping and get last minute baby bits (especially muslins - can never have enough muslins!)

@stormtrooperjulian also super helpful tip! I'll have a look at apps and see what's around. I hope you're doing ok!

TrashKitten10 · 25/11/2019 14:02

@Lemonysherbet Yes, only a baby can fart in an adorable fashion ☺️ the sneezes as well, oh gosh I squee with delight when she sneezes, they're so gorgeous :) How are you getting on? The dark makes it so miserable getting up, can't blame you counting down the days until the Christmas break.

@purplefig Thank you lovely :) What car seat did you decide on? Sober cheesy chips sound DELISH, my absolute favourite. Not good you were suffering with your back though :( is it any better now?

@MrsEG Oh gosh a whiteboard 🙈 raising twins is definitely another world! A random and probably stupid question I thought reading about recording for each twin, how do you plan to tell them apart at first? I think you and @PippaPug are both having non-identical twins but even so, I imagine they will look quite similar. I mean I end up trying to wind my cat when she sits on my lap, I wouldn't trust myself to tell two actual babies apart 😂

@PippaPug Thank you, Daisy is having a kip whilst I'm watching call the midwife with white chocolate Oreos, we are definitely taking your advice to rest! :) Agree with you about washing clothes, I got Daisy's washed over summer and I'd love just smelling them and looking at them on the line drying in the sun. I don't feel quite so whimsical about it now as I wash her tenth sicked/wee'd on babygro of the day 🙈 don't risk your back trying to wallpaper, wait for some help :)

@MrsR16 Aww :) really hope baby arrives promptly and you get to enjoy a lovely Christmas as a little family.

@BabySquid Not long time go now! Definitely a good idea getting prepared and using your mum's credit card!

@stormtrooperjulian Thank you but I dare say you mean the ever glamorous @thumper59 Alas I am in my nightie, wearing huge pants and quite possibly have baby sick in my hair. I can only aspire to glamour ☺️

A little photo of Daisy in a rare moment of being awake and not pulling a strange face Grin

Catching up with TTC #1, thread 8!
MrsR16 · 25/11/2019 14:06

@TrashKitten10 thank you! So do I! Daisy is simply beautiful! I bet all the sick/wee/poop is definitely worth it! And you made me proper belly laugh with your comment to @stormtrooperjulian 😂 I'm sure you look beautiful in your own right!

BostonFern · 25/11/2019 14:30

@BabySquid @MrsEG @MrsH497 @LokiCat @MrsR16 @Fivebyfive2 @TrashKitten10 @Lemonysherbet @purplefig @PippaPug @stormtrooperjulian
Thank you, we have named him Ronnie, after my grandfather.
@BabySquid Yes, I remember being on the theatre table thinking, I'm not having an episiotomy and a csection if I can help it! Couldn't tell if I was pushing enough due to have no feeling below the breasts, but it seems I was!
@MrsEG I can't describe the feeling when he was placed on my chest and I could see he was here-so overwhelming!
@MrsH497 @lemonysherbert we are doing ok thanks. Ronnie is jaundiced and unsettled at night at the moment. I'm sore and bruised from the episiotomy, and aching from pushing so hard for several hours-still think it was totally worth it, and the care I received (and still receive) still made it a positive experience.

@LokiCat pleased to hear the scan showed everything was ok, hopefully that's the last of the spotting for you!
@MrsR16 you look fab, as does your nursery!
@Fivebyfive2 I really can't fault the care. We came home Saturday and have had midwife visits both yesterday and today, we feel really reassured.
@TrashKitten10 I can't believe how quickly three hours passes when you're trying to fit things in between feeds, sounds like ages but I hardly get anything done! Daisy is so cute!

MrsEG · 25/11/2019 15:13

@PippaPug Fingers crossed, Wayfair get it right this time!! I really hope so anyway! I just went to put the baby clothes washing on and I don’t have any non-bio 🙈 failed at the first hurdle haha!

@MrsR16 All the women who are about to pop at yoga keep saying this to me - it’s hard work with one, let alone two haha! I think I’ve just gotten unlucky with the PGP though. Some women get it with singletons too and even worse than I have - just trying to stick to my exercises (and stockpiling box sets for mat leave!). SO close to your due date now...!

@purplefig She gave us the bath all my friends rave about so I’m hoping it’ll be good to have! Still trying to figure out in my head how to keep them both clean... but it’ll all be a learning curve haha! Sounds like you’ve definitely covered all bases with the car seat! Ours have handles too - keep telling DH when I get back to his gym next year I could use them as weights haha, farmers walk the twins around the gym - I’ll have arms of steel!!

@BabySquid Happy 29 weeks! I had a similar panic about my hospital bag so panic bought so much on Amazon prime!! Enjoy all the shopping :)

@stormtrooperjulian That app sounds fab! Hope all is going really well :)

@TrashKitten10 Ahhh she is so so cute, look at her!! Ha, a few twin mums have told me to paint the big toenail on one twin so you know who is who in the early weeks when they’ll look exactly the same!! My hope is as they grow they’ll start to look different - maybe I’ll get lucky and they’ll have different colour hair or eyes!!

@BostonFern Ahh I can’t even imagine what the feeling is like! Glad to hear you’re recovering well -
Ronnie is a wonderful name, I love it!

@BostonFern congratulations!! 😍

@MrsR16 baby shower photos look lovely! And loving the nursery!

@TrashKitten10 nice to hear from you and that Daisy is doing so well!

@PippaPug he's doing well thanks! I notice if I miss any of his meds but as long as he gets everything as he's due it he's eating well and much happier 😊

Hope everyone had good weekends! I had a really productive two days painting our old pine furniture, which has been on my to do list for about a year but the urge to get nesting has finally spurred me on to do it! Also ordered a vax carpet cleaner for my planned house blitz haha I need help 🙈

@MrsR16 ahh that would be amazing! Though anytime around Christmas feels pretty magical. It'll be a memorable one whatever I imagine Grin

@BabySquid ooo sounds like you're on it with the nursery! We went for the Maxi-Cosi CabrioFix as it fits our pushchair, has handles, is easy to use, has decent reviews, isn't on the which 'avoid' list and can be fitted via isofix and seat-belt for easy moving between cars. Phew!

@stormtrooperjulian ahh yes it was you that mentioned the app! Thanks so much for sharing it again - I'm going to download, it sounds so useful. How're you getting on?

@TrashKitten10 sober cheesy chips were absolutely banging - tipsy DH tried to get in on the action (I let him have about three). Bizarrely, my back is fine lying down, standing up and walking - but sitting down for anything over 30 mins sets it off. Quite annoying! Though I've finally started using the stand function on my desk which has been good. Daisy is just SO CUTE. LOOK AT THOSE CHEEKS?!!?!?

@BostonFern Ronnie is an absolutely charming name, I love it! I really wanted a girl called Veronica so we could shorten it to Ronnie, but DH said it's a boys name and was having none of it. Pffft! Glad despite the difficulties you came away feeling well supported and positive about the experience, that's really major.

@MrsEG FWIW I looked into the whole bio/non bio thing and it's quite hilarious...apparently it's a really British thing and elsewhere in the world non-bio is a super niche product! Nevertheless, I of course went out and dutifully bought some non-bio for washing. You're definitely going to have arms of steel this time next year!

@Tropicana1 what a transformation! What kind of paint did you use? It looks so profesh!

Like BabySquid, I'm 29 weeks today which just feels insane. I cannot believe we only have 11 (ish) weekends left. Definitely has given me a kick up the bum re: getting bits organised.

I'd say he or she has definitely had a growth spurt too, as their movements are so much stronger and more noticeable in the last week. Plus after being weirdly not that hungry, I am suddenly RAVENOUS. You better believe I'll be making the most of it Grin. Have a good evening all! x

@BostonFern sounds like you had a bit of a tough time of it! Ronnie's a beautiful name 😊 you must be so proud of yourself!

@MrsEG my poor SIL had it with her last one - she was on crutches at my wedding because it was so bad! And yes it really is getting close! I need to finish watching these PBC videos, as I can feel myself getting more anxious as time goes on!

@Tropicana1 thank you! We're really pleased with how it's turned out 😊 you've done wonders with that furniture! And I actually started to cry because your cat is so cute! 😍😍

@purplefig I'm just hoping memorable for the right reasons rather than me being like a huge whale unable to move! 😂

MrsEG · 25/11/2019 19:38

@Tropicana1 The furniture looks fabulous, great job!! I bet you’ll get some fab vacuum offers in the black Friday sales. Enjoy the nesting!!

@purplefig I heard very similar about non-bio but the maternal anxiety kicked in so I went out and got some just to be safe! Mum thinks I’m mad to wash it all as is (‘never did that in my day and you survived!’) but I can’t wait to get it all done, folded and put away! We’ve been gifted some gorgeous newborn snowsuits too which I cannot wait to put them in! Wahh 11 weeks to go, I have 10 - we could end up being birthing twins haha! I feel the same - panic bought so many hospital bag items! Do you have much left to sort? I remember my consultant telling me by 28 weeks I should feel happy that babies could come now - which is this Sunday......... I feel like I have all the stuff but with no clue how to use any of it!

@MrsR16 I’m convinced I’ll end up needing crutches as starting to have a bit of a limp in the mornings. Your poor SIL - so has she not had it this time around? I bet she’s delighted! Enjoy getting ready and watching those PBC videos!

Question - does anyone else find their ankles and feet swelling towards the end of the day? I’ve noticed it the last few days. They’re normal first thing but from around 4/5 they start to swell. Can barely get my socks on!!
