Hi all, thought it'd be nice for us first time mums to have our own thread! How're we all finding pregnancy? I didn't expect it to be this hard tbh! I'm 11+5 and have my 12 week scan on Thursday, both terrified and excited for it!!

Has anyone had an private early scan? And if so, at how many weeks? Did you go from the first day of your last period? How was it?

I've found a local one for £70 so thinking about booking.. just don't know when for!

Thanks Smile

elb1504 · 25/09/2019 19:26

@HopefulHun I had private early scan at 9 weeks, calculated from first day last period. As it was 9 weeks it was only abdominal as they could see baby and heartbeat, I think earlier they offer it as internal.

It was fab experience the place was lovely and let us take a recording of the heartbeat and gave us loads of pics.

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 25/09/2019 20:31

First timer here too, 31 weeks exactly today. We're having a wee boy.

HopefulHun · 25/09/2019 20:40

@elb1504 that sounds perfect! Thanks so much for replying, I think I'll do 9 weeks as well.

So glad it went so nicely for you & hope I have a similar experience. So excited Smile thanks again x

SquigglyOne · 25/09/2019 20:55

Can I join?
Baby boy due 1st January 💙 feeling so excited yet terrified as the date gets closer!!

Hey1256 · 25/09/2019 21:25

@HopefulHun I just booked one for ten weeks. They do tests too for Down syndrome etc and a few other things so the cost was £395 it's called panorama test x

uor24 · 25/09/2019 22:14

@uor24 Good Luck with the scan today!

Bookworm83 · 26/09/2019 15:14

@uor24 let us know how it went!

loveyourself87 · 26/09/2019 18:10

First time momma here too! Just over 8 weeks! I want to get excited but I keep having on and off cramps and back ache which scare the life out of me! Had period type bleeding last week and thought that's it, had scan next day and saw bubba and now awful cramping like period and scared shitless! I hate this part and from what I've read, it's normal but my god.. can we fast forward to 2nd trimester already? Lol xx

loveyourself87 · 26/09/2019 18:12

@uor24 how did it go sweets? X

HopefulHun · 26/09/2019 18:18

@Hey1256 oh wow, thank you.

When's your 10 weeks then? I've booked a private scan for 9 weeks now which is the 27th October. Feels a life time away!

Boo2134 · 26/09/2019 18:20

20 weeks on Saturday, gender on Friday next week, can't wait to meet our little baba.... But definitely feeling the anxiety. I can't believe it's happening but I'm so excited🤰

HopefulHun · 26/09/2019 18:20

@Boo2134 I second that on anxiousness. I feel like mines through the roof recently.. 'what ifs' are driving me insane

Boo2134 · 26/09/2019 18:25

@HopefulHun it's crazy, isn't it? How far are you along now? X

Hey1256 · 26/09/2019 18:32

@HopefulHun I've booked it for the 4th November. I could have gone a week earlier but she said there's a possibility I may have got turned away if my dates aren't 100 percent and the clinic is an hour away so didn't want to chance it! Would rather wait a week.

I'm really looking forward to it - first sign of it becoming more real.

HopefulHun · 27/09/2019 07:28

@Boo2134 hello, I'm 5 weeks today! So very early.. what about you?

I'm terms of feeling anxious, I've found (light of course) exercising really helps and yoga/meditation.. we've got a long way to go, need to keep positive right? Smile

HopefulHun · 27/09/2019 07:31

@Hey1256

Yeah that makes sense, go with a date you know you'll be able to keep as you'll probably be counting down the days!

How exciting. I'm the same, I just want to know how they're doing in there Smile really doesn't feel real yet at all...

uor24 · 27/09/2019 07:51

@uor24 Wow! That is amazing, I'm so happy for you. How lovely 🥰🥰 does this mean you are ready to tell friends and family if you haven't already? 😄

danielasummer · 27/09/2019 08:05

Hi everyone, congratulations to you all! I’m 6+4 today, a big ball of nerves to be honest, whenever I let myself get excited a little part of my brain spurts out lots of anxious thoughts! Have my dating/screening scan booked for 10+1, it’s going soooo slowly.

@uor24 so glad your scan went well! You must be so relieved?!
