I just went to the toilet, wiped myself and there was bright red blood on the loo paper Sad I had an eight week scan yesterday and everything was positive!! My period wouldn’t be due for another five days ordinarily. Absolutely panicking and no idea what to do - can anyone help?

I just posted on the other thread by a pp. i am another person who had pink and brown bleeding, and all was well, that baby is 12 now.
I remember the sinking feeling when I wiped and saw the blood, so I sympathise.

@SirVixofVixHall exactly that sinking feeling is awful! I was actually physically sick too. I don't know if that was sick from worry or nausea as a symptom xxxx

SirVixofVixHall · 25/09/2019 10:34

Probably both. It is horrible. I was with my friend when she started bleeding, and she was in a panic, (but it was fine). She and I had been lifting heavy boxes at work and she was so scared that she had done something to cause the bleeding, and that she would miscarry. Hospital thought it was implantation bleeding.

Judging by all the posts I've read on Mumsnet and other forums, bleeding does seem to be quite common.

Great that you have a scan booked already @sredwards - fingers massively crossed for you. Let us know how you get on x

@sredwards I've just seen your photo - mine was similar levels to that and actually started out bright red! I also had a few drops fall straight into the toilet in addition to wiping. I'm sure you'll be fine Flowers

I’m bleeding - please help!

I came on here panicking because I am 10 weeks and bleeding heavily, currently waiting for a private scan which I booked last minute and thankfully they were able to fit me in today. I was automatically thinking it must be a miscarriage but reading your positive story @tacosplease has really helped! Only 45 mins to kill..

tacosplease · 25/09/2019 18:31

@sredwards so glad the baby is ok and they were able to detect a heartbeat! Flowers Did they give you any further advice about the bleeding?

@MujosMama good luck with your scan - all fingers crossed for you. Bleeding definitely does seem to be a lot more common than you'd initially think - there are lots of stories from people who've been through it and the baby was absolutely fine, which I found really reassuring x

@tacosplease definitely! I've been pregnant before and still had no idea how common it was.

The scan was fine thank goodness! Saw baby move and a heartbeat. There's a subchorionic haemorrhage but it's small. The sonographer said the same thing as you - it's relatively common around this stage of pregnancy.

Thank you again for sharing your story and helping others like me!

@MujosMama that's wonderful news!! So pleased for you Flowers
