We literally haven’t bought a thing. We’re hopefully moving house soon (although that’s been the case for nearly 6 months- slowest sale/purchase EVER) so we didn’t want to buy a load of stuff that will only take up space in our tiny flat and then have to take it all when we move.
Knowing our luck we’ll be amazon prime-ing everything from the postnatal ward!

YorkshireIndie · 03/08/2019 07:25

Angelo still no luck with the expected date of exchange?

2018isanewyear · 03/08/2019 07:42

Can I join in this thread please I have been on the others from the start but no one really seems to talk on them anymore.

30, 2nd pregnancy,1st baby
Due 13th October so 29+6 now.

The past couple of weeks it's started to sink in that this is actually happening and I'm so excited. We don't really have anything left to get. Mixture of new and donated.

I'm starting to struggle with back ache and swollen feet so trying to rest when I can. How's everyone else getting on?

userabcname · 03/08/2019 07:53

@2018isanewyear hello! Welcome! Sounds like you are pretty much sorted with everything. I'm lucky my feet are bearing up ok but with you on the back ache. I remember my back felt absolutely destroyed in my first pregnancy so hoping it doesn't get that bad again!

I don't really need anything except a double buggy (which I am buying second hand from a friend) since I still have all 2yo DS's stuff. Have officially promoted him to the bigger spare room though and set up the smaller room for baby. I just need to get down all the 0-3 months clothes from the loft and wash them. I think I won't bother with newborn size as I expect this baby will be another chunky monkey like his big brother who never really fitted that size! Can't believe it's August- time is flying! (Sorry if I keep repeating that every time I post but it's true!!).

AngeloMysterioso · 03/08/2019 10:26

@YorkshireIndie nope- we’re just waiting for the bank to send our solicitors our mortgage agreement (which they should have done 6 weeks ago Angry) and then we should be ready to exchange.

AngeloMysterioso · 03/08/2019 10:46

My DH had to give me a bit of a pep talk last night as I was feeling really down about stuff. Between the underactive thyroid (blood test every 4 weeks followed by another dosage change seems to have become routine) abnormal smear test (got to go for my 3rd colposcopy next week, last one was at 13 weeks but hey, I just love having people digging around in my vagina and scraping at my cervix) small fundal height measurement at my mw appt last week (growth scan on Friday) and now a f**king GD diagnosis (the cut off point for a positive diagnosis is 7.8, and I was 7.8) it’s been feeling as though nothing is going right with my body and my poor little Bean must just be fighting for survival in there! He reminded me that our little guy is wriggling around like crazy, his 20 week scan was perfect and FH measurements aren’t always precise, my GD diagnosis was literally on the borderline so we don’t have to make any drastic changes, and yeah the other stuff is a pain in the arse but it’s better to have it monitored than just left to get worse. I know he’s right... still can’t help worrying myself silly about it all at times though!

HJWT2 · 03/08/2019 10:57

@Rememberallball gosh I couldn't imagine having to buy DOUBLE! I feel like the house is over run with 1 of everything 😂

@AngeloMysterioso Gosh I hope you get your move soon! Sounds like you are really going through it 🥵 do you think they will end up inducing you? Xx

@2018isanewyear Welcome 😁 I had backache a few weeks ago but seems to have died down a lot! MW said due to my hernia and muscles my back might end up really painful and I might need physio! But I don't have time for that so will just suffer if it happens 🤣

@KatnissK I have chunky baby's! Have bought Up to 1 month but got some newborn vests incase as DD wore newborn vests x

HJWT2 · 03/08/2019 10:59

The only things we need are a baby carrier and another blanket for the carseat! Also need to get the bloody car seat replaced 😡

Is anyone buying a sleepy head? Didn't have one with DD so not sure whether to or not! We are using a next to me crib this time though were as with DD we used a Moses basket!

homley · 03/08/2019 16:38

@2018isanewyear welcome I am new too 31, first baby, 30+2. I can relate to you with the backache! I have recently started using sports tape which I have found has helped plus ice rather than heat. I hope yours manages to ease up soon :)

Maryrobinson81 · 03/08/2019 17:00

Hi all, joining this thread, due October 14th a happy surprise 4th baby.
Been quite anxious off and on about all sorts of things, 1st baby was sga and raised bp at the end, so had growth scans with second 2 but both good size and no bp issues. So this time not having growth scans but anxious about bp at each appointment and get so worked up.
Had midwife appt this week and fundal height was 32cm at 29 weeks, so now worried about that, back to midwife in in 3 weeks so check it’s not too steeply climbing. I was so bloated when I went this week, needed a wee and had just eaten and think i was breathing out a bit, sort of holding my breath as I get worried. so I think this is part of high FH measurement. But now I also worry it won’t have grown enough because of this potentially false measurement, argh why can’t I just relax and enjoy it!! Sorry for such a long rant about myself!!

Frizzy1986 · 03/08/2019 18:05

We haven't bought anything at all yet.
Have everything second hand which has either gone between me and dsis or she has got and passed over.
Got a gliding crib, travel system, moses basket, baby carrier, swing seat, bath seat, baby monitor, hundreds of clothes (girl and boy as we don't know what we are having), cot bed and all sorts!

HJWT2 · 04/08/2019 08:30

@Maryrobinson81 ah hopefully will be back to normal next time have they not offered you a scan? I have my growth scan Tuesday!

@Frizzy1986 Very lucky! I don't know anyone who has recently had a baby! I can see my sister getting pregnant within a year though and wanting all my stuff 🤣

My Pelvis is absolutely killing me at the minute! Why do my children insist on being head down from around 27 weeks 🥵 feels like I'm going to rip in 2!

HJWT2 · 04/08/2019 08:50

@MNHQ why has this thread gone missing out of my watch list? 🥴

Frizzy1986 · 04/08/2019 09:51

@HJWT2 I'm very lucky although it means I feel very unprepared as I've not really got anything yet. I've not purchased a single item which feels strange.
My pelvis kills too. Had a group pgp physio session last week to find best ways to sleep, to get out of bed, to roll over etc. Unfortunately the rolling over ways require a lot of space so I just roll half over into dh and I'm stuck. They said not to do much walking though as that worsens pgp, instead do small exercises at home.
I feel really rubbish today. Diarrhea, tummy aches and some cramps. Dh is out for the day today so I'm hoping I can convince dd to watch some films to make my life easier. We only picked her up yesterday after her spending a week at my folks (which meant we could finish her big girl room) which makes me feel like a bad mum but I know she just wants to spend time with me and doesn't care if that is in front of a TV.

MrsSoonToBeMummy · 04/08/2019 11:13

Hi all, I'm due 4th October with my first baby! Crazy how quickly time is going by and I know these next 9 weeks will fly too. Absolutely cannot wait to meet my little one! We've chosen to not find out the sex of the baby so excited for the surprise too! I had my first antenatal class on Friday and I was the only mummy with an October baby so great to have all you October mummies. 😊

YorkshireIndie · 04/08/2019 14:58

Church was interesting with my back today. Contemplating getting a vision to sit on

HJWT2 · 04/08/2019 15:46

@Frizzy1986 aw bless I'm sure she wont mind when baby is here ☺️ xx

@MrsSoonToBeMummy Welcome! So exciting, I don't know how you all do it. I found at the second I was able to haha xx

Frizzy1986 · 04/08/2019 18:06

We spent some of the afternoon doing pictures on the fashion wheel (circa 1980s) which she loved.
Im now trying to help her with a puzzle whilst I sit on the sofa. Baby is pushing out on my tummy and it's rather uncomfortable. Plus the heartburn!
Why are all heartburn remedies either aniseed or mint of some kind. I can't stand aniseed, it makes me throw up and mint, why do I want to feel like I'm drinking toothpaste. The best I can handle is the fruity carbonate sweets

HJWT2 · 04/08/2019 18:38

@Frizzy1986 oh I know what you mean! DH made spaghetti bologna's last night and I still had heart burn this morning!! But unless I feel like its going to make me be sick I get on with it because I cant stand the taste of Rennys! 🤢

SunshineSophia · 04/08/2019 19:15

@AngeloMysterioso poor thing, you're not having an easy time! Hope it starts to get better soon! :)

My sister-in-law just recently had a baby last year so we're getting a few bits from her, but most things we're buying new as it's our first and we're ridiculously excited new parents getting sucked in!!!

HJWT2 · 05/08/2019 19:57

How is everyone feeling ? My back started hurting today and feeling really achy in the mornings! Just want to shove DH out the bed in the night 🥵😂

YorkshireIndie · 05/08/2019 20:04

30 weeks tomorrow and everything feels 100% harder. DH is being annoying and I kindly gave him three maltesers and you would think he would be grateful 🙄

My back hurts, the only way for me to get comfortable is to lie on my side with a pillow between my legs

HJWT2 · 06/08/2019 08:02

@YorkshireIndie OMG tell me about it! I keep waking up in the night to DH rubbing my head or face I feel like screaming "GET THE FU.. OF ME" 🤣 think he's trying to be nice but its just annoying when you struggle to sleep anyway! X

umck2014 · 07/08/2019 01:06

Hi OP@HJWT2 - looks like we are on the same page. Already have DD who will be 3 when DS arrives. Due date on the 4 Oct. I’m a SAHM so it’s been tough going trying to keep the little one busy since the summer holiday broke out.

Currently having trouble falling asleep as finding it hard to get comfortable :( my back gets tired and sore and I find getting regular massages by a physio helps. I also got a balance ball today which was a god send!

I haven’t really bought anything except for a new baby car seat. I’ve kept most of my DD’s old neutral coloured clothes so new baby will just use them. Looking to buy a ICandy Orange as I’d really the idea of the built in buggyboard for my then 3yo. Anyone who’s used it before?

Not sure if it’s hormones related but this pregnancy feels so much different. Emotions has been a rollercoaster but it’s been on the good side the last 2 weeks.

How’s everyone coping? Specially those with a young toddler? X

AngeloMysterioso · 07/08/2019 02:08

I’ve had a rough few days... stressing about the GD clinic/growth scan on Friday and my colposcopy tomorrow (although I guess it’s technically later this morning now).
I’ve been falling asleep to hypnobirthing tracks recently but for the last few nights baby has taken me lying down and trying to relax as his cue to start pummelling my insides non-stop and it’s just impossible. I know it’s a good sign that he’s wriggling around and I don’t want it to stop exactly, but at the same time I’m like chill kid, I’m trying to get to sleep here!
