Wanted to start a thread for all the October mums to be if not as no one to talk to in the real world 🤞🏻

I am due 19th with a little boy and already have a DD(3)

Cant believe its only 12 weeks until October 😬

Congratulations! How old are your others? We are also due number 4 on the 19th Oct.

Just on my way to have my glucose test... have only had a few hours sleep, I’m already starving as I could only manage a few mouthfuls of the giant bowl of pasta I made last night, all I want is a coffee and a cinnamon danish and I can’t eat for another 3 hours... waahhhhhhh woe is me!

@AngeloMysterioso ahh I know that feeling, I had glucose in my urine the other day to so if I have the same on a fasting sample next week iv got to have another GTT!! That will be my 3rd this pregnancy 😬😬

@HJWT2 lord that is bad luck!
Had a midwife appointment in between blood tests and the fundal height measurement she took was slightly on the small side- 26cm at bang on 28 weeks, so we’ve got to go back in a week for a growth scan. She didn’t seem overly concerned so I’m trying not to freak out too much!

Struggling this week - had my GTT on Monday and was sick ten minutes before the 2 hour blood test was due - was absolutely gutted! :(
Have had to monitor my blood sugar this week now instead which has not been fun!

Just been to mothercare and every time there is a sale it makes me regret not knowing if it is a boy or a girl as there are so many items in the sale which are definitely for boy or girl

Think I need to get more 0-3 clothes! If DS ends up being near 10 LBS the up to 1 month won't fit for long 😟

Hi everyone, my first post and first pregnancy! Due on the 10th, cannot believe how fast time seems to be passing now!

We have been waiting for our baby for the last 3 years and ended up having to go down the IVF route which seemed to take forever at the time but it is now a distant memory.

Feeling rather disorganised as we haven't started on baby's room yet but starting to buy the important bits incase s/he makes an early appearance!

What items are people looking to buy new and what items are people buying second hand? I am picking up a baby bouncer and I have worked out I am saving £90 buying it second hand! I am also picking up a pram to have at my parents house

@YorkshireIndie we have bought all new! We kept quite a lot from DD but it was all pink 🤦🏻‍♀️ so bought mainly grey/neutral colours this time incase we do have a 3rd! Also be easier to sell it all if we don't 😁

Will probably try and find a nice second hand swing for at my mums though! X

Ahh carseat has come today and its marked! Waited 5 weeks for the stock to come in and now ill have to send it back! Its a good job Im not due soon 😂 x

We are going mostly second hand, been given loads of clothes, play mat, a car seat and pram from best friend (so know there has been no accidents) mosed basket (bought mew matress). Will probably buy baby carrier/bag/monitor/etc new.

It really has done, although I suspect it will start slowing down soon as I am on countdown for leaving work Haha.

@YorkshireIndie we are a mix of new and second hand. Got a few bits from my sister in law who had a baby last year and got a good deal on second hand nursery furniture (new cot mattress tho). We did treat ourselves to a new travel system, purchased at the baby show and some cute girly clothes!!

Travel system
Changing station/high level baby bath
Glider feeding chair and footstool
Next To Me crib
Mattresses for Moses baskets
Bottles, brushes, etc
Some newborn outfits

Secondhand/preloaded items so far........

2 cot beds
2 Moses baskets
Nearly all the baby clothes
Some bedding for cot beds/Moses baskets
Bottle steriliser
Baby monitor
Cloth nappies in a variety of brands and sizes
Activity table for when babies are a bit older (currently stored in barn)

Still need to buy .........

Changing mats
Bouncer chairs
Mini sterilisers for out and about
High chairs for later on
