Oh no @Em39ma that sounds like an awful mess and rather frustrating. I hope you get some answers sorted tomorrow.

HJWT · 12/09/2019 19:06

@YorkshireIndie @Positivity86 Iv got Aldi nappies and Aldi sensitive wipes thats what I use with DD and she has really sensitive skin and eczema! Anything else gives her a rash or burn xx

2 packs of size 1&2, we have one close so if need more can send DH but not sure what size he is going to be in now so no point getting more 🤦🏻‍♀️

@Frizzy1986 I hope so. I’m so big now, my midwife said the same if someone was 5 weeks over due.
No wonder I’m in pain all the time. My bump is sore to the touch. My midwife was lovely and decided to not poke and prod to see if she is engaged yet, as she said it’s not fare on me and they can see from the scan if she is tomorrow.

Ju5tAgirlstandinginfrontofaboy · 12/09/2019 20:36

Has anyone been having any twinges? My due date is early October but today I've had a few powerful Braxton's that stopped me in my tracks.
Getting nervous 🤭

cattaxi · 12/09/2019 20:37

Hi! Just checking in after feeling rough and grumpy for a few days. My blood pressure has been low, my bump is enormous and really sore, I’m knackered and I keep getting nose bleeds. Pregnancy is definitely not my finest moment!
Anyway, I finished work today, so I’m sure that will help me feel better. A bit gutted I have to see the midwife at 9am. I was looking forward to getting back to bed as soon as everyone was out of the house. I’m sure I’ll make up for it in the afternoon.

On the nappy front, I loved Aldi for ds. But we’re getting Tesco deliveries at the moment, so i’ve got some from there. I’ll switch to cloth nappies after a few weeks. The weather is meant to be good next week, so I’ll be getting them all washed & ready.

Has anyone been to the Lidl baby event today? I’m going to pop in tomorrow as they look to have some decent maternity / feeding pj’s for £8. I’m all about comfy clothes at the moment!

YorkshireIndie · 12/09/2019 20:44

Yay for finishing work @cattaxi!

Anyone done the ring test? Did it for fun with my sister and according to the internet it is going to be a girl (do not know what it will be)

cattaxi · 12/09/2019 22:43

Ohh @YorkshireIndie, that sounds like fun! I know we’re having a boy. But I might try the test out over the weekend for a laugh.

I forgot to add puking to my list of complaints! I’m back to being sick multiple times a day and it’s doing my head in. And my teeth probably!

newbabyyy2019 · 12/09/2019 22:52

@Cantthinkofanameeee Have you spoken to your midwife or a doctor about how you're feeling? You sound like how I was when it all first started happening with me. Not knowing what was wrong and I felt like it was my fault that the baby wasn't growing. I was so worried about the baby and I went to the doctors and explained how I was feeling about everything and they signed me off work for a week just so I could wrap my head around everything. It did help being away from everyone constantly asking how the baby is because I never knew what to say.. I'll let you know how my scan goes on Monday! Keep us updated with your scan aswell and try not to worry yourself too much! X

newbabyyy2019 · 12/09/2019 23:02

Anyone else constantly hungry? It's getting out of hand and I feel like I'm putting on unnecessary weight. Even after I've just eaten I feel like I need to eat more. I was getting ready to come up to bed and whilst in the kitchen I clocked a box of cereal on the counter, next thing you know, I'm sitting on the kitchen floor with a bowl of cereal (my third bowl of cereal today may I add) is this normal? 😂🙈 I'm never like this. I feel like a right greedy pig. I'm just constantly thinking about food, eating food, watching videos of food or looking for what food to have.. I'm hoping this is a normal pregnancy related thing??

Cantthinkofanameeee · 13/09/2019 09:25

@newbabyyy2019 no I havent seen anyone.I suffer from ocd & anxiety. So I know this is triggering my mental health.Just using my usual tactics to try and stay calm.Partners taken the week off work so I'm not alone until the scan. When I get more info Tuesday I will be able to deal with it.If I know shes ok to stay in 2 weeks until another scan. And I can ask more questions about how she is coping in there for them to be ok keeping her in ect.But for right now nobodys got answers. So it's just making it through these 4 days. Thanks so much I will defo come back and update X

Frizzy1986 · 13/09/2019 11:11

@newbabyyy2019 Omg yes to the hunger. This morning I had my cereal for breakfast and then came home from dropping dd off at school and had 2 slices of toast.
I'm starving again and feel a bit nauseous if I don't eat (it's like my early nausea all over again)
Is it too early for lunch?!

I'm feeling bored today. I don't have any people that I can meet up and spend time with so I'm basically just sitting it the house snuggled up to the dog who I feel bad about as I can't really walk her as it aggravates my hips.

I've got a bit of washing I can sort today, but that's it. My life is going to drag next week if I have nothing at all to do. Hoping baby makes an appearance by the end of next week as I'm not sure I'll last another 4 weeks if I go totally overdue. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad I finished work as it was getting to much for me and with not sleeping well at night I need to rest before the baby stuff kicks off, but just wish I had friends around that I could lunch with or something so the days were a bit nicer.

cattaxi · 13/09/2019 11:35

Just catching up and wanted to give you a virtual hug @Cantthinkofanameeee. That all sounds so stressful. I know it’s easy to say, but do try to trust that the dr’s will get her out if they feel she will do better on the outside. I think they generally tend to be over cautious with these things. Even with minimal weight gain, she will be maturing & developing inside you, which will all help when she comes out.
Can you make a list of questions you want to ask for the next appointment? I always go blank in the room, so find preparing like that helps me get the information I need.
And please, please practice lots of self care this weekend to help your stress levels. Lots of feel good movies / music /tv, pampering if that’s your thing, nice food & rest. Do whatever to distract yourself and make you feel good.
We are here if you need support.

I’m hungry all the time @newbabyyy2019. I’m being sick loads but not having much nausea, so it’s all a bit weird. My husband is quite disturbed at how I can puke my guts out, yet much on toast an hour later!

@frizzy1986, sorry you are feeling bored. I think it’s very easy to feel a bit lonely when you are used to being at work in company all day. I’m all done with work now. It’s glorious here, so doing loads of washing. Just put some tiny hats out to dry. Too cute!
It’s definitely not too early for lunch. I finished mine 10 mins ago!

I had a check up this morning & my blood pressure seems to have stabilised. They’re going to take a full blood count to check if there is anything else that might be making me feel so rubbish. I do feel much better today, thank god. I hope everyone else is ok?

Frizzy1986 · 13/09/2019 16:35

@cattaxi that's good that the BP has stabilised. And nice to know that they are going to run some more checks to try and make things better.
I'm not sure if I hope they find something so they can do something to help, or that they don't as you don't really want there to be anything.
I've fortunately found that almost all the medical staff (bar one locum consultant) have been really helpful through this pregnancy.
It's been a shame that I haven't seen the same midwife at any appointments though, except my 36 week app where I saw one of the ones from my 8 week booking. The trust was supposed to be improving continuity of care with the idea that you'd see a max of 3 different midwives but it's not happened in my case. However they've all been lovely so it hasn't bothered me.

Is it like that for anyone else?

I didn't do so well at being bored.
Dh is going to be annoyed at me as Ive emptied the dishwasher (obvs involves lots of bending which isn't good these days), I've collected all the bins and taken them out (again lifting that he doesn't want me doing) and I've put the dining room curtain pole up and then the curtains (standing on a chair screwing things into the wood. FIL had been round earlier in the week to drill holes and put some wood up to make it easier)
My bump aches now and I'm tired, but I feel so much better having actually done something. Less of a lazy hindrance to society!

Thankfully I have some things to do over the weekend to occupy me. Lunch with some mums I met when dd was at nursery and the kids tomorrow, then Sunday lunch with some friends from an old job. They are picking me up to take me somewhere as they haven't told me much, won't let me drive and have just said they'll pick me up.

Hoping I don't pop until Tuesday as cleaners are coming on Monday and I'm so excited. I think I'll do some before and after photos ☺ Just worried I'll be in the way.

YorkshireIndie · 13/09/2019 17:51

@Frizzy1986 I know what you mean about midwife consistently. It was one of the things that I was told at my 8 week appointment but my midwife has retired and I have now moved my care to my parent's hospital

Yes to being hungry but only certain things satisfy me. Spent the day sleeping. Took the day off to pack but that obviously hasn't happened

AngeIoMysterioso · 13/09/2019 18:12

I’ve seen a different midwife every time too, probably because I’m an out-of-area patient (had hoped to be living there by now).

cattaxi · 13/09/2019 18:27

Thanks @Frizzy1986. I know what you mean. I don’t want there to be anything wrong, but it would be a relief if there was something causing me to feel so shit! She thought maybe a combo of low iron, low no and stress. We’ve had a few issues with mil lately that have been worrying me.
Today has been pretty good. Mostly because of 3 short naps!

We’ve live in a pretty rural area and the midwife cover is shocking. There is only one full time for the whole patch, but she’s off sick. Everyone i’ve seen have been really nice though. And there is a lovely hca who does BP, bloods etc and will do post natal bf support. She is great and i’ve seen her quite a bit.
Definitely get the before & after photos!

I’m just off for my leaving do at a gorgeous restaurant. I’ve tried not to eat much today, but am Now so hungry I feel a bit sick. Can’t win! And I bet I’ll be full after the starter & starving again by bedtime. Oh well! I fo have lovely colleagues, so looking forward to a laugh with them.

HJWT · 13/09/2019 19:36

@Frizzy1986 oooh id love to see some pics, I managed to clean the living room today! Moved the sofa & TV unit and the amount of toys food & dust from DD was 🤢 I normally do it twice a month when not pregnant but its been at least 8 weeks 😂 I cant remember the last time I hoovered the bed & flipped the mattress either so will have to get DH to help with that 1!

DD's nose is running like a tap & all iv heard today is "Mummy my nose" I really feel for her! Funny how soon as your baby becomes unwell your illness seems to not feel as bad xx

So to all the lady's on here who are FTM hope your all ready to feel love like you have never felt before 🤭💗💙

Frizzy1986 · 13/09/2019 19:42

@cattaxi that's sounds lovely. Yes unfortunately there's not much space for food in there any more so I guess that's why it's back to eating little and often. Not so much fun for a fancy meal though.
Maybe take a doggy bag home with you for snacks later ☺

Frizzy1986 · 13/09/2019 19:50

@HJWT2 God I feel bad. I'm not sure I've ever flipped my mattress, which is so bad. We need a new one as it's about 12 years old but can't even get close to affording one.
I'm also not good at moving stuff to clean behind, although hoovering is dhs job (and he rarely does it to start with so getting him to move stuff would be near impossible)

Definitely understand the fact that your pain changes when your kids need you. Dd had a bad dream last night and woke me at 1am. I walked as fast as I could to comfort her even though my hips were killing me.

HJWT · 13/09/2019 19:59

@Frizzy1986 aw thats so sweet! I think it makes me love her even more when she needs me ☺️

DH has a bad back so we have a firm mattress that has to be flipped! Otherwise it would not get done it is so heavy haha

Ill be so glad when baby is here, if I sit on the floor now my bones hurt SO much when I get up and I cant wait to lay on my belly again!

Em39ma · 13/09/2019 20:45

Evening all.
So had our growth scan today, she is still going up the 50th percentile.
Water has decreased to be back on the scale, but still right at the top.
She is head right down, which is why I keep getting the pressure and weird pain down there.
The hospital are meant to be phoning me so I get to see a consultant in the next few days, never phoned when they have said yet, so god knows when that will be. They said today I need a plan now not rather than later.
Her estimated weight is now 5lb,8oz

HJWT · 14/09/2019 07:33

@Em39ma The lady who scanned me the other day said water is not always accurate because they only check 4 corners and if the baby is laying in a different position it can change the outcome of the measurement! Make sure you keep ringing them hun don't let them fob you of they never ring me when they say they will I have to ring them! Hopefully everything will go smoothly and even if she is small she will be fine and you can take her home. My niece had her baby the other week and she had no waters! They couldn't understand were they had gone, so at least they are keeping an eye on you x

OP posts:
Frizzy1986 · 14/09/2019 07:56

@Em39ma that's good that baby is still growing and that waters have settled somewhat. And yes to calling them if they don't call you. Sometimes things can get lost in the system so there's a delay.
Good that they are getting a plan together too. At least then you all know what to expect.

Dh is finally getting his car brakes checked today after months and months of a brake fluid leak which he has been topping up (maybe even a year)
It's bloody annoying as I've been telling him for ages to get it sorted, now he's saying that his brakes don't seem to be working that well and it's a rush to get it looked at.
Means I've got to wait in for the mechanic today while he does the shopping and then he could need my car for work until Tuesday so we'll have to ask his folks to help with the school run as no way I'm driving his with brake issues and I'll be housebound.
If he'd had just booked it in one weekend weeks and weeks ago then we wouldn't have this mess. Argh!!!

Cantthinkofanameeee · 14/09/2019 08:11

Thankyou @cattaxi I will do all of that...3 days to get through til the scan...so it's nearly over x

AngeIoMysterioso · 14/09/2019 08:38

Morning team! DH and I are on our way to our first NCT session today Grin I’m feeling weirdly nervous, no idea what to expect!
