If anyone knows of a thread already up and being used please link it below 😁

Wanted to start a thread for all the October mums to be if not as no one to talk to in the real world 🤞🏻

I am due 19th with a little boy and already have a DD(3)

Cant believe its only 12 weeks until October 😬

We are going to phone Monday morning, because they won’t have the top consultant available at the weekends.
They want me seen by the top one, so I can get a definite plan. Always see the same midwife, but have now been seen by 3 different registrars, who all say something different.
I’m hoping they go back to plan they had in the beginning and they just induce me at 37 weeks. 35 today, so would mean only 2 weeks away from seeing her😲

Frizzy1986 · 14/09/2019 09:16

@AngeloMysterioso oo exciting. We did nct 5 almost 6 years ago for dd. It was useful. Most of the things we talked about I could've read online but meeting other people at the same stage was lovely.
During the first 8 months or so we'd meet up fairly regularly for cake and a chat. We're still in contact over social media even now but don't see each other anymore as we all live in different towns and with activities at weekends etc it got too difficult.

HJWT · 14/09/2019 09:26

@AngeIoMysterioso let us know how it goes! Iv never been to one, I didn't even know they existed when I had DD 😬 xx

Had a lovely meal out last night for my leaving do. I had a starter for my main so I could keep room for pudding! Was very full an uncomfortable in bed, but it was delicious and worth it. Even better because I didn’t puke for a change!

That’s good news @Em39ma. Definitely chase them up on Monday. 2 weeks is no time! How exciting.

Hope you are feeling ok today @Cantthinkofanameeee.

Definitely come back and tell us about the nct @AngeloMysterioso. I never did anything like that with ds, so am intrigued. Hope they are nice people and that it’s informative.

I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend. I’ve finally got round to washing more baby stuff, so feeling a bit more organised at last. Trying to motivate myself to go out and do some tidying in the garden this afternoon.

secretlyhermione · 14/09/2019 15:46

Hi ladies! Hope everyone has had a good start to the weekend. I just realised that today is exactly 7 months since my partner and I found out we were pregnant! It was Valentine's Day and the best news ever!
I've felt so lazy today and just been napping and reading while DP has been pottering around cleaning and doing the shopping
He is being so helpful and then I feel so guilty for not doing anything but at the same time I know from next week onwards when I'll be on maternity leave I'll be doing a lot more just to keep busy!
MIL called me today to remind me to pack my hospital bag so I think we'll get that done tomorrow. I still feel like it's quite early but guess you can never be too ready. What has everyone else been up to?

Frizzy1986 · 14/09/2019 17:16

@secretlyhermione don't feel guilty. You're growing a baby and have to deal with getting it out as well. Although I feel guilty not doing things as well so I can't really talk.

I've been out for lunch today with dd and some of her friends she met at nursery a few years ago. It's nice because all the mums get on really well so it's a nice break when the kids play together and we can rest and chat.

I did get home and end up tidying dds room, washing up, doing some cleaning in the kitchen, putting the tea on and putting some decorating bits in the shed though.
I did ask dh to put the things in the shed when I got home as they've been sat in the nursery waiting to be put away for over a month and he hasn't bothered yet but he grumped as soon as I asked, so decided I'd just bloody do it myself. Even though he'd had 4hrs to himself while I'd been out with dd and been sat down doing nothing.

Hello all, really nice to see some familiar names as the last thread went quiet.

I'm 36 + 4 and feel like I'm nearing the end and I'm quite looking forward to her arriving now and not being pregnant. I have been feeling fairly well through the whole pregnancy but this week has been a game changer.

And last night I had acid reflux like I've not had before and just potted about today because I have just felt so unwell. Hoping this is a sign that she will come earlySmile

Frizzy1986 · 14/09/2019 21:11

@Jodie6 my acid reflux seems to come and go but has definitely become worse over the last few weeks.
Hopefully the changes in feelings are a sign.

Im pot watching these days and symptom spotting waiting for something to happen.
I'm 37+4 today which is when I had dd, I didn't have time to wait for her as I wasn't expecting it at all. This time, because of her, I'm watching and waiting and counting down and it's frustrating.

AngeIoMysterioso · 14/09/2019 21:15

Evening all!

NCT was good, I was a bit concerned that the teacher was going to be one of those evangelical “all natural, no pain relief” nutjob types you hear about, but she actually seemed fairly sane and balanced Grin DH and I went to Bluewater on the way home with the intention of ordering our pram and car seat at John Lewis, but it turns out they don’t price match travel bundles, so we’re going to order it from Winstanleys instead and then the car seat is free. We did order the bedside crib and also bought a carrier so not a total waste of time! Tonight I’m going to go through our shopping list and do some research to identify what we want and where to get it for the best price and then I think we’ll go back out tomorrow and get some stuff. It’s so much more satisfying buying it in a shop don’t you think?

Also wrote my hospital bag list last night. It’s alarmingly long...

@Jodie6 my acid reflux was killing me, I got prescribed Ranitidine on Tuesday which I take morning and evening which has really helped, maybe ask your MW/GP if you can try it?

YorkshireIndie · 14/09/2019 21:55

Hi All - took a load of house stuff and the bedside cot and bouncer to my mum's. Brought a travel cot that was reduced to clear and my mum went through my baby clothes and we are starting to put my hospital bag together. Starting to feel a bit freaked out especially as from tomorrow it will be less than a month.

@AngeIoMysterioso we have NCT next weekend

@Frizzy1986 I hate that! You go out and ask DH to do something and he doesn't do it!

Em39ma · 15/09/2019 04:05

So I’ve been awake since 2.30. Hip is sore, but not too bad. Baby is only kicking now, because I think I’ve woken her up getting up and down.
I’m shattered, just a couple more hours would be good. Not sure how I’m going to cope with another couple of weeks like this.

newbabyyy2019 · 15/09/2019 04:39

I'm awake at ridiculous o'clock as well! The past few days I've been getting these horrible cramps In my pelvic region that feel like period pains, accompanied by lower back pain and Diarrhea. It's making me feel miserable but I just don't think it's bad enough to get checked for labour or anything.. Is anyone else experiencing this?

YorkshireIndie · 15/09/2019 04:56

Can I join the awake club? Woke up hungry and am now awake. Can't really have a lazy day as I have church and then more packing of the house 😫

kmammamalto · 15/09/2019 05:10

Also checking in for the awake club... awake since 3... Hips are absolutely killing me and braxton hicks are stopping me dropping off again! I'm so so uncomfortable and know it's all my fault as I did a long drive yestuday and then lots of walking to see friends plus took the toddler with me. It's always such stress when far from home isn't it!
Lovely to hear about all your supportive DHs, could you send that my way please! Mine seems to forget I'm preggers completely and insist he is more tired, had a harder day etc. A bit of sympathy goes along way doesn't it!

Jojo7979 · 15/09/2019 05:15

Hi everyone, also in the wide awake club! I’ve been reading this thread for ages but never actually posted. Got some really good tips from you all and so good to know I’m not alone in this as it’s my first baby!

Frizzy1986 · 15/09/2019 05:36

Feeling sorry for all those wide awake. I've just woken up and can't get back to sleep.
Might watch a film on now TV or something.

@newbabyyy2019 keep an eye on the cramps. Are they painful? Do they slowly get more and more? It's how my first labour started across about 3 days. Cramps every 30mins to a few hours really irregularly.
They then kept me up all night as they were quite painful, but still not in a pattern (varied from 5 mins to 30) so I assumed it couldn't be the real deal and as I hadn't had braxton hicks I thought that's what they were.
Next morning my waters went and full on labour started.

Welcome @jojo7979. How far along are you? Glad that it's giving you some tips ☺ and hopefully we don't constantly sound like miserable sods 😂

@kmammamalto I hear you with braxton hicks. I'm sick of them now. They are so regular but not painful at all, just uncomfortable. The whole bump goes rocks hard and it feels like my uterus is a balloon that someone has suddenly blown up so much that it's going to pop. Didn't get any of this with dd and by now she was here so not looking forward to the long slog ahead.
I'm going with because I lucked out last time having a suprise slightly earlier labour, this time I'm going to go way over so I suffer.

We're going to go swimming this morning. Dh is going to come too so we can switch between watching dd and actually having a swim ourselves. It'll provide some nice relief from the hip pain.
Then some friends are picking me up around lunch to go out for food. No idea where yet as they've kept it a secret. Then off to the inlaws for tea and the cleaners come tomorrow. Woop woop.
Although since booking them, I think my house is cleaner than its ever been as I've been trying to tidy to make it easier for them to clean and then I clean. It'll still be worth it though as I can't do the bath or shower right now and it's hard enough getting dh to do his own chores, so he won't offer to do mine.

kmammamalto · 15/09/2019 05:45

@frizzy swimming sounds like a great idea! Maybe we will go this morning too! What stroke do. You do for your hip pain?
It's so hard waiting isn't it! My son was late and I also didn't have so much braxton hicks so now I'm trying not to hope that this baby will be a bit early! Probably going to be later than my first!
Is anyone on this thread thinking of homebirth?

HJWT · 15/09/2019 06:35

Good morning everyone! Or not, officially 35 weeks & no longer sleeping WOOHOO! I spend most of the night laying there staring at DH peacefully asleep 😴

Never mind ! Told DD would make biscuits today so she got up at 6! What an idiot I am 😁

OP posts:
HJWT · 15/09/2019 06:41

@Frizzy1986 I half know how you feel, with DD she was getting ready to come out at 37 weeks and I started to dilate so wouldn't of got to 40 + weeks (I was induced anyway) so hoping its the same with this baby and he comes out himself at 38 weeks 🤣 xx

userabcname · 15/09/2019 07:54

Hello all! I am in the no-sleep club too at 35w. I put Blue Planet on mute last night with subtitles as I thought it would be soothing- of course ended up an emotional wreck watching a mother walrus try to find somewhere for her exhausted pup to rest....!!! So that was a terrible idea. Also getting loads of cramps/BH and mucousy discharge...told my mw at last week's appt but she said it's all fairly typical third trimester stuff. Never had any of it with my first though! I wish I could tell my body to stop bothering as it's having a c section this time! Finished work on Friday thank goodness and looking forward to a nice rest next week while DS is in child care.

Frizzy1986 · 15/09/2019 08:01

@kmammamalto I do breaststroke arms with freestyle legs. I think breaststroke legs is best avoided with hip pain as the frog style kick will trust your hips and you want to keep them in line. It's blooming gorgeous and the water obviously also takes the weight of the bump off your entire body.
I only just fit in our bath as it's narrow and it's hilarious me trying to get out so the pool is much better.

@HJWT2 yes to them coming at 38 weeks. That would be ideal for me. I've no plans 😂

I managed to drop off to sleep listening to some hypnobirthing tracks. Not sure that's the point but oh well I got an extra hour rest.

Em39ma · 15/09/2019 08:24

I went back to sleep at 5 for 30 minutes!!!
Going to my parents for lunch and my DB and SIL are coming with my nieces, so no rest then.
May go upstairs to my old room if it gets too much, we are all really close and understand that get enough of clothes after a while, because they hurt my bump.
Hoping to go to a nearly new sale this afternoon, there great for things like the bumbo etc which I’m not worried about having new.

newbabyyy2019 · 15/09/2019 08:29

@Frizzy1986 I'm not sure but I'd say the cramps are pretty irregular but they do feel really uncomfortable but bareable so that's why I've not gone in to get checked. I'm going to sit and pay more attention to how often I'm getting them today and I've got my growth scan tomorrow anyway so unless it gets worse I'll probably just hold on until that appointment.

Positivity86 · 15/09/2019 10:01

Another one here wide awake at 4am 🙄 it's the same every night! I did manage to go back to sleep at 6 for a bit. Kept getting cramps in my calves and they feel so sore and tight this morning. Think I overdid did it yesterday as we hosted a bbq for hubbys birthday.
Hope everyone has a good day!

Jojo7979 · 15/09/2019 10:44

@Frizzy1986 I’m 35+5 now, due 15 October. Just got one more week at work now, can’t wait to finish!
I’m very good at moaning so good to know I’m not alone 😂
