@cattaxi
I ended up going to see my mom and sister. I think I was also worried about my fetal med growth scan which was today because they'd said today's appointment would be discussing a possible induction date due to my baby being IUGR. I think I needed my mom and sister to take my mind off the scan as it wasn't until later on in the day.. My scan was a weird one, my little girl hasn't really grown in the last two weeks. I'm now 35 weeks and she's still less than 4lb.. Her blood flow was really good though so although she hasn't really grown they said they're happy to keep her in a little longer. They've booked me in for my next growth scan at 37 weeks and then I will see my consultant after to go through the results and to decide if they're going to keep me in.. Just got to carry on with my twice weekly Fetal well being scans and monitorings until then. At least it gives me at least another two weeks to sort things in the house..

AngeloMysterioso · 03/09/2019 00:18

Well we are now officially installed at my PILs house... and today I look on Instagram and see a pic posted by the wife of a couple DH and I are friends with, who is also pregnant and due the same week as me... “Today we closed the door on our lovely first home of 5 and a half years and opened the door to our new family home! #newhome #familyhome #32weekspregnant #andrelax”

Well, fuck them. I did not need to see that shit today.

Frizzy1986 · 03/09/2019 07:36

@AngeloMysterioso oh that sucks! Not what you want to see with what you've been going through. Just try to remember that it'll all work out in the end though and this will become part of the story.

@newbabyyy2019 that's good that blood flow is still good and baby is ok to stay put for now. Each week inside is all beneficial and it's nice to get the support from family to take away some of the stress.

@cattaxi I'm trying to get dd ready for school. I washed all her stuff yesterday as its been sat in her new chest of drawers which have delightfully added a chemical smell to them so had to deal with that. Now I don't know where to store them as need to figure out how to sort the drawer smell.
I also folded everything and realised I hadn't named them all so I'll need to unfold it all and put her name in (idiot)

@HJWT2 my hips have been cracking almost every night when I attempt to roll over since about 20 weeks a little unnerving but totally normal apparently.

Dd was a pain last night. At bed time she basically refused to do anything I asked. Wouldn't get in her Pjs, wouldn't do her teeth. It took 40 mins of her screaming to eventually get her to bed. But as punishment for being naughty I told her she couldn't have a story (which didn't go down well) but then dh came home from the dog walk and said go to bed nicely and ill do your story (even though I told him when he walked in that her punishment was no story)
I cried with it all as it was just too much as I'm tired and aching and just need people to be helpful now.

I've got unexpected pains now in the balls of my feet. I think it's the walking on holiday last week catching up with me. I've double socked today in the hope it gives some cushioning as my work shoes are quite old.
Work was also a bit bleurgh yesterday. I'm not really sure what I'm doing now as my replacement is there so am I am leaving them to it and waiting for them to ask for help or what. And then the office manager has started talking to me about doing some things but it feels like I've missed the start of it and have no idea how he expects me to complete the task and I think he thinks I know more than I do.
Well only 4 days left!

SRK16 · 03/09/2019 13:24

@AngeloMysterioso the last thing you want to see! Hope you’re taking it easy.

@Frizzy1986 we’re finishing up around the same time then - Thursday is my last day :) you can ignore your manager nothing much you can do in 4 days!

Think I’ve discovered why I’ve been feeling crap- came home to a letter telling me I have a urine infection and to see my GP. I gave the sample over two weeks ago and letter dated last Tuesday, but only sent yesterday?! Feel it’s really shit to leave it so long to let me know. Picking up some antibiotics shortly.

HJWT · 03/09/2019 14:31

Back to reality today, I am a SAHM and DD goes to nursery twice a week! Getting out the door for 8AM is hard work how I am going to do it with a newborn I do no know! 🤣 she has been so ratty since I picked her up even after a nap!

When is everyone planning on getting everything ready? in terms of putting carseat in, setting baby's things up such as bed/swing etc?

I think I will wait to see what the consultant says in 2 weeks then make a plan 🤔 xx

OP posts:
newbabyyy2019 · 03/09/2019 14:55

@HJWT
Well we haven't even got the car seat (preordered but hasn't arrived) and haven't even started the nursery 🙈 and when I say haven't started it I mean like it needs completely decorating and new flooring etc.. To say we arn't prepared is an understatement 😩 feel like there's so much to do! Been having a major sort out of the house today and I'm knackered now..

Frizzy1986 · 03/09/2019 18:07

@HJWT2 we put the car seat in for France, just in case.
Crib and moses basket are built and in the "nursery". It still needs a freshen up but won't be used until baby is 6 months so it's just storing things. I've cleaned everything and got what we have ready as not sure I'll have the energy or flexibility to do it any closer to due date as I already struggle bending down and lifting.

cattaxi · 03/09/2019 20:11

Glad your scan was ok @newbabyyy2019. Another couple of weeks cooking has to be a good thing. Don’t panic about not having the nursery done. Plenty of time for that - ds ended up in our room for 18 months! I’m glad we hadn’t painted his room, because I probably would’ve bed ready to change it again by the time he went in there! All this poor baby is getting is a cupboard in the spare room 😂 (for his things, not to actually sleep in of course!)

Hope you are getting settled at your pils @AngeloMysterioso.

Try some bicarb in the drawers @Frizzy1986. It’s good for absorbing smells. I hope your foot is feeling better tonight. I’m right behind you with 5 days left at work. Yahooo!

@HJWT2 no idea when we’ll get stuff ready. Probably after I finish work at the end of next week. I’ll start getting the covers washed etc and set stuff up as we go. We seem so busy at the moment - no time to get anything done. Having a slight panic at where I’m going to find the time to look after this baby!

Hope everyone else is ok? I’m exhausted after being at work. More so than ds who did his first full day at school! Bed is calling 😴

AngeIoMysterioso · 03/09/2019 20:26

We had an offer accepted on a new flat today, we are back in the game! Hoping against hope to be in before the baby gets here but I know that’s hugely unlikely.

I haven’t noticed more cracks than usual (I’ve always had a cracking body Grin) but for quite a long time now I have frequently had an intense tingling sensation up and down my right leg, sometimes it feels as though someone is pouring hot water over it. That and a trapped nerve feeling deep inside my buttock.

DH and I have started playing “Hicks or kicks?” if I suddenly make an “oooh!” noise, particularly if we’re walking around, he tries to guess what’s happening!

YorkshireIndie · 03/09/2019 20:49

@HJWT not got anything set up as we are still waiting for an exchange date (estate agents are getting sick of me reminding them every time we talk). The baby will be sleeping in with us at my parent's anyway.

@AngeIoMysterioso sounds promising. Hope you can use your impending arrival to speed things along and at least you are the start of the chain.

@Frizzy1986 you could always try lavender drawer liners?

Spent the day at my parents so the builders could do some work. It was nice not being at work. Definitely do not want to go back in tomorrow. Less than two and half weeks to go!

Frizzy1986 · 03/09/2019 20:55

@cattaxi and @yorkshireIndie thanks for the tips. I'll try those for sure. Need to get rid of the stench so we can just have somewhere to put the school stuff.
First day in year 1 tomorrow and she's so excited to see her school friends again.

@AngeloMysterioso that's great news. Got my fingers crossed for you big time.

Maryrobinson81 · 03/09/2019 22:48

Not been up to date with this thread for a while, but have enjoyed reading everyone’s updates! So glad I’m not the only one totally unprepared. Found the car seat in attic today and it was very mouldy, took me about an hour to get cover off and put it on gentle wash and bleached the straps and left in the sun, so far so good and think it will come up ok! Also had midwife appointment today and took my eldest daughter aged 6 and she loved it, was helping the midwife and asking lots of questions. I always get anxious before appointments but having my little girl there was a great distraction! She now wants to be a midwife Smile.
We aren’t doing a nursery for now, this is baby 4, and whilst we do have a spare room, we have family who come and stay quite frequently. Have been having arguments regarding family staying with partner, His family live 350 miles away and I really don’t want them to come stay immediately after baby’s born. I would never do this to someone and would stay in a hotel, but as he says they can’t afford too. He says he’s on my side and agrees with me but doesn’t know what to do without hurting them. Bit difficult!

I’m a teacher and back to work tomorrow after 6 weeks off for school hols, not finishing until end of the month, dreading it! Going to miss my own children so much after a lovely holidays together.

Sleep well everyone! Hope you don’t all wake up for too many trips for a wee!

newbabyyy2019 · 04/09/2019 02:22

Having the worst nights sleep currently! I'm having to drink tons of water due to being full of cold and I have an awful sore throat! Been back and forth to the loo all night.. Anyone know of anything I can take whilst pregnant for my throat?

SC0508 · 04/09/2019 07:04

Worst sleep ever for me too 😟 kept wakening up to pee every 45 minutes then at 4am woke up with what I thought was BH, not sure if it is though as the cramping has been roughly every 6minutes since then and is painful, has anyone else had really painful BH?

newbabyyy2019 · 04/09/2019 07:13

@SC0508
I actually had really painful Braxton hicks a few weeks ago which was so bad that I ended up going to triage in the early hours of the morning. They confirmed it was just Braxton hicks but there wasn't a pattern to it so the fact you're getting pains around every 6 minutes doesn't sound like BH if I were you I'd ring and see if they want you to go in for monitoring!

SC0508 · 04/09/2019 07:26

@newbabyyy2019 yeah definitely going to call my midwife and see what she says, they don't seem to be as regular now but still very painful 🙁

Maryrobinson81 · 04/09/2019 07:28

Rough nights sleep here also, woke up for a wee then was awake for nearly 2 hours, just couldn’t switch my mind off.
@newbabyyy2019 just paracetamol and strepsils maybe? I know you defo can’t take anything with decongestant in

SRK16 · 04/09/2019 08:41

@SC0508 let us know what midwife says!
@newbabyyy2019 you could try hot honey and lemon too?

Another one with a shit sleep here. Was awake until 2ish with really bad acid, then woke several times to wee. Was hoping to sleep in but woke up early despite being shattered!

Have my nursery draws being delivered today- excited as it means I can start getting the room sorted!

Em39ma · 04/09/2019 08:52

My sleep wasn’t too bad for me last night, managed to sleep in hour blocks. Which is an improvement on the every 30/45 minutes that I have been having.
Think my fluid went up again yesterday, bump is very sore and bruised again. Not worth me phoning, they want me to get through to next week before another scan.

AngeIoMysterioso · 04/09/2019 08:55

Can I join the crap sleep club? It’s starting to get quite painful constantly sleeping on my left, even with the lovely pillow my DH got me. Eventually got to sleep some time after midnight last night and was awake again from around 4 til after 6.

HJWT · 04/09/2019 10:46

I am very lucky when it comes to sleep (when DD sleeps) I only wake up once to pee, because I stop drinking early on! But when I do wake up that once I lay there for ages wondering what life is all about 😂😂😂

Hi ladies! I still sleep okish, pretty much been getting up 2-3 times since I found out I was pregnant a night and that's remained consistent up until now. Guess it's our bodies preparing us for what's coming?
Started my prenatal classes yesterday whcih I really liked. Really happy with the midwife whose hosting them as she seems very nice and it's quite nice to get "stuck into it." Has anyone else done their's already? Tomorrow we have a lesson on breastfeeding which is the part I'm most anxious about as I really hope to bf my child but have heard how hard it can be...
Does anyone have good recommendations for postpartum clothes/must haves especially when breastfeeding? That was one of my friend's top tips to invest in some useful tops (I'm planning to breastfeed) as she had totally missed that and realised quickly nothing in her wardrobe does the job (I'd be in the same position as I wear lots of dresses and closed tops).

HJWT · 04/09/2019 14:50

@secretlyhermione I do this, buy lots of vest tops from cheap places such as Primark, Asda etc (Primark do long ones for tall people) cut the strap and do a loop (sew it) which you hook over your bra, then you can wear regular tops/jumpers etc and pull it up and the vest top covers your stomach etc the vest comes down with the bra making it easy x

Personally never got along with nursing tops and felt more covered up this way as when baby is latched you can cover most of your boob with your top/jumper. Were as with nursing tops you have to get your boob out of the hole if that makes any sense 😂😂😂

@HJWT that's very smart! Thank you for the tip :)

SRK16 · 04/09/2019 16:25

@HJWT Amazing tips, will have to try this.

Grrr mumsnet (or my iPad?!) keeps deleting my replies and it’s giving me rage!

I’ve overdone it today- nesting kicked in and I’ve done 3 loads of laundry, organised my cupboards, and started organising baby’s draws (they got delivered this morning, yay!). Also did some baking to bring to my colleagues for my last day tomorrow, I’m shattered!
