If anyone knows of a thread already up and being used please link it below 😁

Wanted to start a thread for all the October mums to be if not as no one to talk to in the real world 🤞🏻

I am due 19th with a little boy and already have a DD(3)

Cant believe its only 12 weeks until October 😬

@Frizzy1986 we have two girl names to chose from and we are going back and forth over a couple of boy names. My sister's first name begins with an E and her surname starts with an E. I think it depends on the name but not the be all and end all of first name and surname starts with the same letter

HJWT · 01/09/2019 08:54

@Frizzy1986 we have a name picked out, it is absolutely HATED on MN though 😂 which actually put me of the name for a while but everyone in the family (except PIL of course 🙄) love it so think we will be sticking with it! Will know for sure when we see him though ☺️ really don't like any other boy name! All the ones I love my nephews have!

Just really hope if we have a 3rd that it is a girl otherwise he would be baby no name!

@Frizzy1986 we've picked both our names now. The girl name is a name I've loved since I was a little girl and we also found it harder to pick a boy name but have now settled on one we both love. I'm loving all the old wives tales that come with not finding out the gender! Everyone seems to have an opinion based on the size of my bump but it's all quite fun!
@HJWT is this your first or second? Its my first so have nothing to compare it to. My mom gave birth to my sister a few days after the due date and to me a day before my due date so am basing it on that although my half sister gave birth to her first daughter three weeks early so who knows what happens! Hoping for it not to be too early though as I have a wedding when I'll be 37 weeks pregnant.

HJWT · 01/09/2019 09:48

@secretlyhermione this is my 2nd, I have a DD she is 3 next week 😁 I was induced with her, all my sister were 1 week over due my mum was 2 weeks over with me 😬 hoping to be induced again tbh x

newbabyyy2019 · 01/09/2019 10:12

We have our named picked but can't agree on her middle name. I'm sure once she's here we'll think of a middle name that suits her and one that goes with her first name. @Rememberallball glad to hear the twins are doing well! Hopefully you start feeling better once the infection clears up.

Hope everyone's doing okay! I'm beginning to get super nervous for my appointment tomorrow. I'm really hoping my little girl has grown enough for them to not induce me straight away but we'll find out tomorrow 🤞🏽

Em39ma · 01/09/2019 12:52

We have our names all sorted, not told anyone, decided it’s the only surprise they get as we know were having a girl.
Having a bad day. I think 8+ weeks of not sleeping has really caught up with me.
Still not dressed and keep falling back to sleep, not sure how I’m going to cope with these last few weeks

Frizzy1986 · 01/09/2019 16:56

@Em39ma try not to worry, the last weeks can be really rough. I actually slept OK the last 2 nights at my parents after horrible sleeping in France.
We are finally back home in the North, but now my car is making a humming noise that I need to sort out. Bloody typical. And I need to sort out food shopping for the week.

We've not told anyone our names either, we don't know what we are having and want at least 2 name choices for each.
I like people trying to guess what we are having as well. We don't care at all. If we have a boy we'll have one of each, and if it's a girl then we feel like we know what we are doing lol.
We were adament it was a boy last time and it wasn't and I think the same this time. Exciting to know that it won't be long until we find out.

I carry quite low (apparently boy but carried low last time)
I look a bit fatter from behind but I wouldn't say I've filled out everywhere as I'm still quite out front bump wise (could mean boy or girl?)
Baby HB is 157 (apparently girl)
Hair on my legs has grown slower (apparently girl)
But I have shedded less hair from my head (apparently boy)
Smooth skin (apparently girl)

So basically a mix of the old wives tales if I've read them right.

I'm hoping I go at 38-39 weeks. I finish on Friday at almost 37 just because of last time (didn't make it to 38 weeks and would rather not have it at work)
It'll give me a little bit of time with dd and resting on my own and maybe attenpting to clean the house but I kinda think what's the point. I have a 5 year old (therefore house is always messy) and I won't be getting any rest time once baby arrives so maybe I should just nap and chill.
I don't know if my mum had me early or late but my sister had her first at 34+5 and second was induced around 38 weeks due to high BP so who knows.

cattaxi · 01/09/2019 20:36

@secretlyhermione & @HJWT2 - I hope it’s not me first! Got my c-section booked on the 14th Oct & really don’t want to go into labour before then! I did everything to try and shift ds after 38 weeks. With this one I’m going to sit very still with my legs crossed until c-section day 😂

Lovely update @Rememberallball. Sounds like the twins are doing fantastically! I hope your infection isn’t giving you too much pain. Take it easy 💐

@Frizzy1986 we know we’re having a boy & have pretty much narrowed it down to 2 name choices. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see now what he looks like. We’ve not really told anyone. Mainly because we’re not interested in their opinion!! We have talked a bit about it with the teenager. She had a LOT of opinions on the subject 😂
Apparently I’m carrying very low / high, just like a girl ‘ just like a boy. People sprout such crap, don’t they?!

Good luck with your appointment tomorrow @newbabyyy2019.

Hope you are feeling tonight @Em39ma? These last few weeks are shit. The physical strain, lack of sleep & hormones are a bad combo.

I hope everyone has had a good day? I am
Exhausted. We had ds’ birthday party today. And then an afternoon out to a local attraction. I was so sick and didn’t manage to keep any food down until about 4pm. I’m so over being sick. It’s been pretty much daily since the beginning of feb. The longest stint I had was 3 days without puking somewhere around 26 weeks.
Anyway, whinge over! Only 6 more weeks to go 🙂

HJWT · 01/09/2019 20:52

@cattaxi How do you do it!? I have sat on my ass all day and my back still hurts 😂

OP posts:
cattaxi · 01/09/2019 21:18

@HJWT2 I did totally cheat today - soft play party, pre bought cake, ready filled party bags & basically no work for us! It was ace!
Then I sat down a lot this afternoon. But I’m not too bad standing. It’s the bit in between that gets me - I cannot get up without grunting these days.
I’m pretty glad this week is over now. Lots of celebrations & days out has been exhausting.
Looking forward to the kids being at school & some sort of routine again. I just hope that starting full days doesn’t turn ds into an overtired psycho! He was only 4 on Tuesday, bless him!

YorkshireIndie · 01/09/2019 21:24

Church this morning. Baby seems to have a party during the hymns if played by an organ. Was meant to go to fundraising event but fell asleep after doing some packing for the house move.

@cattaxi you sound impressive! Just doing ironing and cooking tea has taken it out of me (and I had a nap!)

SRK16 · 02/09/2019 06:01

Have woken up early for no reason! Annoying I want to make the most of sleep while I can. Have been having cramps on and off over the last hour and though I’m pretty sure they’re BH it’s made me worry I’m going into early labour 🙄
Have a c-section booked for end of this month(!!) and really want baby to stay put until then. Not at all ready for it to come now. Cramps have eased off in the last 15 min or so - hope they don’t come back!
It’s my first and I have no idea what to worry about and what to ignore.

Frizzy1986 · 02/09/2019 06:19

@srk16 try not to worry yourself, it's probably nothing.
I've been getting on and off cramps for about a week but they've not turned into anything yet. They'll start to become a quite painful initially when it's the real deal so you will know. Id say like very very strong period cramps if you've ever had them. And if you don't realise, at some point they will change to being regular and will take your breath away.
Even I figured it out last time (eventually) as I've got a low pain threshold so assumed I was just being a weakling and it was BH (even though they were keeping me up all night) until my waters went, but after that there was no doubting I was in full on labour.
Try to monitor it and relax as it's out of your control at this point.

I need to hold off for at least 8 days and then I'm not bothered. Not looking forward to the birth itself as the memory of the pain is coming back to me, but I did it once so I can do it again. Right!

It's my last week of work this week and was kind of hoping for a free ride but due to staffing issues etc I don't think that's going to happen.
I've also realised that I've forgotten how to get to the birth centre 🙄 I know which building in the hospital it is, and think I go to 1st floor but can't remember after that. Hoping it's all clearly signposted as I find hospitals can be quite confusing.

SRK16 · 02/09/2019 06:40

@frizzy1986 thanks I know you’re right and I shouldn’t worry.. I’ve had cramps for two weeks but I do feel these are stronger and very period pain like. Going to have some breakfast and get ready for work and hope they ease off again! Could do with at least making it to the end of the week to finish work and get the house sorted 🙊 but hopefully it’s just all stretching out.

Frizzy- hopefully once you’re at the birth centre you’ll figure it out and there’ll be staff around to ask? Hope work isn’t as bad as you fear :)

Frizzy1986 · 02/09/2019 06:47

@srk16 that's a good plan. Try and distract yourself and see how it goes.
I only got 6 days mat leave last time and actually the cramps started 2 days in so didn't get time to rest and clean etc.
Is the CS optional or medical? Have they given you advice on what the best thing is should you start prior to the planned date?
Whatever it is, it'll turn out OK in the end. Hope it all calms down for you and its just baby making a nuisance.

cattaxi · 02/09/2019 08:34

Hope you are feeling ok @SRK16. Don’t be worried about getting yourself checked if you are in pain.
The main thing I remember from last time is that bh are uncomfortable, whereas contractions were agony! But everyone is different, so do call your midwife if you are worried.

Hope everyone managed a good sleep last night. I was up for a million wee’s, but feel pretty rested as ds slept through for once!
Another busy day here - taking the teenager shopping for back to school bits. My bank account will be groaning by the end of the day!

newbabyyy2019 · 02/09/2019 08:50

Only got up twice for a wee last night so I'd say that I had a good sleep. Woke up at 7am though when I'd planned to have a lye in since it's my first proper day on mat leave.. I feel really lost and almost like I want to go into work 🤔 it's only 8:50am and I don't know what to do with myself

SC0508 · 02/09/2019 09:44

All my plans for today are now forgotten about, back to bed I go. DS had me up most of the night with a high temperature and when he was finally settled I would need to get up and pee every 30 mins 😂. Medication for stomach ulcer is slowly starting to work so really hoping the next few nights I can get some sort of sleep. Where is this pregnancy glow that everyone talks about people getting 😂

HJWT · 02/09/2019 13:26

Just wondering has anyone else noticed their bones cracking? When I roll over in the night my pelvis literally cracks so loud it sound like its about to break 🤦🏻‍♀️

OP posts:
2018isanewyear · 02/09/2019 15:05

@HJWT yes me too! Surprised I can walk in the morning it sounds awful!!

YorkshireIndie · 02/09/2019 15:19

Not had any bones cracking. Baby seems to be having a party but always does after I see the midwife

Can not wait for mat leave to start in 17 days (not that I am counting...)

Em39ma · 02/09/2019 15:24

I have physio and when they do anything even gently my bones etc all crack. The physio said it happens with all there pregnant patients, because of the relaxin when pregnant.

SRK16 · 02/09/2019 16:51

I haven’t noticed my bones cracking but I am getting horrendous shooting pains down my inner thigh randomly- think baby is on a nerve?

Cramps have calmed down so will assume was BH. I can’t believe how uncomfortable I’ve been the last couple of days and the idea that this is it for the next four weeks is alarming. Baby seems to really enjoy putting it’s full weight on my bladder and bumhole 😭 whilst also managing to burrow into my ribs and stomach! Little joker. Hoping maybe it’s just particularly active and may settle into a more comfortable position later on.

Feel much less prepared than I would like. House is in a proper state, our bedside cot hasn’t arrived, everything is a mess. Want it sorted so I can relax!

secretlyhermione · 02/09/2019 17:29

@SRK16 I know what you mean..I did a massive reorganisation of all our closets this weekend as I had a freakout that we don't have enough space for baby... Maybe crazy nesting period has started? I start my prenatal classes tomorrow so really looking forward to that. Just have two weeks left until I'm off on maternity and hoping I'll have plenty of time (let's see...) I think I've only felt BH once and it felt a bit like a strong tightening in the stomach, but nothing since then.

cattaxi · 02/09/2019 20:18

How did the rest of your day go @newbabyyy2019? I was totally lost when o started maternity leave with ds. Going from a full time job where pretty much every hour is scheduled to nothing was a big shock. Didn’t take me long to get into it though!
I’m sure I’ll feel very different this time as we now have ds & the teenager. Doing their laundry & lunchboxes is pretty much a full time job!

Hope your ds is feeling better @SC0508. If you find that pregnancy glow, please send some my way? I’ve not seen any yet!

@HJWT2 bones cracking? That sounds terrifying! Pleased to say i’ve not experienced that yet.

@SRK16 & @secretlyhermione we are firmly in the unprepared club chez cattaxi! And so busy that it’s likely to stay that way until I start mat leave in 2 weeks. Hopefully the nesting instinct will kick in at that point and we’ll finally get organised and have a clean house!

Hope everyone has had a good day. I’m shattered after lots of running around to get ready for school starting tomorrow. I’m also back to work after 10 days off. Ds fell playing at my mums, so will start school with a huge bruise on his head! Oh dear!
