Hi everyone! I'm also feeling baby a lot, he/she keeps kicking me on my upper stomach and is super active! I'm on countdown for maternity leave now, only 11 working days left which feels unreal!
I think I will get everything ready once I'm on maternity,. Baby is also feeling very low and I just got to 33 weeks so hoping he/she stays put till the due date at least!
We have a visit tomorrow morning for a bigger place as we're currently in a one bed which will be ok for the first year, but then we'll need something bigger. Not looking forward to the house hunt as it's so stressful!
We also got gifted a bag that turns into a rucksack, so you can both hang it off the pram and wear it on your back. Felt like the easiest option but a first time mum here so still figuring it all out!

userabcname · 30/08/2019 17:02

@secretlyhermione ooh sounds like we are on a similar timeline! When is your due date? Mine is the 18th.

umck2014 · 30/08/2019 17:17

@YorkshireIndie I had a Cath Kidston rucksack that comes with a change mat with DD1. It was awesome. But the zip broke and I never managed to find a replacement.

This time I’ll just use a regular ruck sack again (will get a foldable change mat separately). TBH I never found the appeal of using a regular changing bag. They look a bit too mumsy to my liking. But that’s just me.

SRK16 · 30/08/2019 19:01

Feeling sorry for myself today as coming down with some kind of bug, and I only just got over the one I has two weeks ago! Have a really nice weekend planned included a hotel stay so hope I sleep it off overnight 😞
also have horrendous acid reflux today- why!!

secretlyhermione · 30/08/2019 20:30

@KatnissK Due date is the 17th :)! I have a feeling he/she will come on the 20th for some reason... Not sure why! When are you off on maternity leave?

cattaxi · 30/08/2019 22:07

@KatnissK I think 2 bags is pretty standard. One for mum & one for baby. I really need to get on with mine!

@HJWT2 I like the look of that bag. I may have to copy you as it’s exactly what I’m looking for!
My nausea and sickness has started to ramp up again. I had hg for the first 16weeks. I’m doing ok with staying hydrated, but throwing up most meals. Gah! I’m really not a fan of pregnancy.

Good luck with the viewing @secretlyhermione. I’m close to you and @KatnissK - due on the 18th. But i have a c-section booked for the 14th. Hopefully he stays put until then!

My baby did a massive shift earlier & made me puke! Something is now wedged under a rib and I’m so uncomfortable.
I think I might have to invest in a gym ball to sit on as I’m really struggling to get comfy on the sofa. Trouble is, with a 4 year old and a 14 year old in the house, it will end up being a huge source of entertainment & probably thrown about until something breaks 🙄

SC0508 · 30/08/2019 22:33

@cattaxi I have a ball and honestly oh and ds who's 5 probably use it more than I do for their entertainment 😂 it's so much easier than trying to get off sofa all the time to pee 😂.

Had a day off work today and all I done was sleep due to being awake most the night 🙁 baby is most active at night and keeps kicking and turning right next to my stomach ulcer so is causing me a lot of pain as I am trying to sleep 😟 really hoping medication starts to kick in soon as up at 5:30am tomorrow for work. Counting down the days to maternity leave starts, everyone keeps saying I will get bored within the first week but at this rate I might just sleep all of it 😂.

First pregnancy was a walk in the park this time around has been so much more difficult and exhausting 🙁 so glad that oh and ds have been very caring and helping me out would be lost without them at this stage.

newbabyyy2019 · 30/08/2019 22:37

My scan yesterday showed that baby has finally turned and is now head down!! So very happy and relieved, just hope she doesn't turn back again. Nervous for my scan Monday as they've said they'll give me a plan of induction date and mode of delivery which I'm hoping now is natural birth as she's now head down. I went on maternity leave today. It's been a crazy day but so lovely!

cattaxi · 30/08/2019 22:55

@SC0508 I think I will get a ball, even if they will all drive me crazy chucking it around!
I’m feeling every one of my advanced years this pregnancy. I was pretty sick last time. But had none of this discomfort. I feel so old!

Great news that your baby has turned @newbabyyy2019. Although mine was defo more comfy when he was breach!

I need to go to bed, but keep putting it off because I know I’ll have to get up for a wee as soon as I get settled!

newbabyyy2019 · 30/08/2019 23:04

@cattaxi I'm exactly the same at the moment, it's so uncomfortable to sleep then I'm constantly struggling to get up and down out of bed to go for a wee. Then baby moves loads and I feel like I'm squishing her whilst laying on my side!

HJWT · 31/08/2019 03:23

@cattaxi Go for it! Iv not used it yet but loved filling it up 😂 has D rings on the back to so you can attach it to the pram!

I got up to pee half an hour ago was just about to drift of and DD woke up 😢 iv been writing down her sleep for her paediatrician and this month she has had 8 nights were she has woken up and not gone back to sleep! Don't know how I will do it with a newborn #ZombieMum 🤭

Em39ma · 31/08/2019 06:18

I just want a couple of hours of sleep in a row, the hip pain every 40 minutes is driving me mad.
Baby is also very wiggly when I lie on my side, desperate to lie face down.

userabcname · 31/08/2019 08:37

@secretlyhermione I have 2 weeks to go but I have just had 6 weeks off as I'm a teacher so I really can't complain!

@cattaxi oh bless you, I had hg with my first and it was absolutely horrendous. I hope you're managing to keep some food down! I lived on plain crisps and toast as I recall - anything else made a swift exit!

secretlyhermione · 31/08/2019 09:13

@KatnissK same as me then! I'm also off in two weeks :) 6 weeks holiday sounds very sweet!! I had 2.5 weeks at the beginning of August so felt very relaxed then and it's not too busy at work so I'm coping :)

HJWT · 31/08/2019 16:13

Anyone looking for a ball to bounce on I got this one of amazon seems very sturdy 😁 DD keeps bouncing of it😂

@secretlyhermione we are on the same timeline! I'm really looking forward to my mat leave - I should have a bit of time with toddler in childcare and pre-baby to just chill. So far I'm planning a cinema trip, a coffee morning and the ultimate slob day where I binge watch Netflix- just need to decide on which programme or films!

cattaxi · 31/08/2019 17:55

Oh no @HJWT2 the lack of sleep is brutal, isn’t it? I thought by age 4 ds would be sleeping through. But we are lucky that he goes straight back to sleep with a quick cuddle or tucking in.
That ball looks ace, thanks for sharing.

I’m not too bad, thanks @KatnissK. And I’m not feeling nauseous, which is worse I think than the actual throwing up. We went out for lunch today to a really nice restaurant and threw most of it up, but it was a lovely meal!

I also finish work in about 2 weeks. I have a couple of weeks annual leave to take before mat leave starts. I’m looking forward to crap tv, catching up with friends and all the day time naps I can get!

secretlyhermione · 31/08/2019 18:28

@KatnissK @cattaxi nice to see we're all on the same timeline! Will be interesting to see whose baby will come first :) I'm also looking forward to maternity leave. Def want to do a few trips to the cinema and start getting the flat ready .
Btw if anyone is following the positive birth company they have a sale on their postpartum pack so it's down from 39 pounds to 10! I just bought it as think it will come in useful :) I also have the positive birth digital pack and the hypnobirthing book which are both really good. It's my first baby so no idea what to expect but hoping for it to be as positive as possible!

HJWT · 31/08/2019 20:10

Rememberallball · 31/08/2019 23:43

Hello @HJWT2

Sorry for being absent for a couple of days; time runs away with us between feeds!! DH has been at home overnight as he had stuff to do and so I was trying to do it all myself.

Both babies are well, Samuel has now got rid of the feeding tube and is managing all his feeds orally without need for top ups; he also had a 20 minute breast feed this evening which is a major step forward!! He isn’t quite back to birthweight but is only 1oz off it.

Joshua is slowly starting to take feeds but it tires him out so we’re not aiming to remove his feeding tube yet. He also took a breast feed today - using nipple shields seems to be the way forwards for us at the moment!! Joshua has also gained weight and is now 90g above his birthweight.

Unfortunately I was started on antibiotics on Thursday for a wound infection in my c section site; it’s not too bad but is sore and not healing properly at the ends.

Waiting for a referral about tongue tie and for both boys to have hip scans as twins are more prone to Hip dysplasia so they routinely scan them.

No news about going home yet but we will get there when the time is right!!

YorkshireIndie · 01/09/2019 07:22

@Rememberallball really pleased to hear the babies are doing well! It must have been lovely to breastfeed Samuel last night and go Joshua for being above his birth weight!

Thank you for the ball recommendation @HJWT. Going to get one ordered today. Think it would help with the back pain in the evening when sitting down

@SRK16 how are you feeling? How is the hotel stay? Hope you are having a nice time

HJWT · 01/09/2019 07:45

@Rememberallball aw brilliant! Nice to see the boys are doing well and gaining weight! Hope the anti-biotics kick in soon and you heal properly💐

@YorkshireIndie I think it has helped me loosen up a bit, My bones didn't crack as much last night in bed 😄 xx

@Rememberallball it sounds like they are progressing well and you're doing an excellent job. Once you are home all this will become a distant memory.

Has everyone picked names yet? We have a few girl options but struggled with boys (which was the same last time)
My favourite starts with a H but we have a H surname and I'm worried it makes it sound a bit stage namey or something. I know you rarely refer to people by their first and surname, but it makes me worry that it doesn't sound right as it's an unusual first name anyway so pair it with a same letter surname, am I asking for trouble?!
