Just been for scan baby is doing perfectly fine, no concerns about growth and he is currently head down. Was great seeing baby again feels like it was ages ago since my 20 week scan 😂 started my medication today for ulcer so really hoping the pain starts to ease off

HJWT · 29/08/2019 15:31

@YorkshireIndie I really don't know! Baby has his bum under my ribs and he pushes out so hard that is feels like iv been kicked and bruised 🥴 xx

Glad your scan went well @SC0508!

I’ve had a crap few days. DH couldn’t get any time off work this week so I’m packing our flat up alone. Can’t put into words how much I’m dreading moving into PILs house this weekend. I keep randomly bursting into tears. Most of all I’m worried about what effect all this stress and emotion is having on the baby.

umck2014 · 29/08/2019 18:27

Hope everyone is feeling well.

God is it just me - it feels like Baby has suddently dropped down really low!?? It’s gotten very very uncomfortable/boarderline painful to even walk?! I don’t remember my DD1 was this low this early! (35wk today)

SRK16 · 29/08/2019 18:47

@umck2014 I’ve had the same over the past week or so, baby seems to have dropped down as have loads of pressure below- though has been a bit on and off. Is very uncomfortable and think baby is pressing on a nerve as keep getting a shooting pain down my thigh. I’m 35 weeks on Saturday. Started worrying baby will come early!

Got date for my csection today, and start mat leave next week, all feels very real!

Is anyone else getting period pain cramps? Getting a lot in my lower back. Is this normal?

umck2014 · 29/08/2019 20:03

@SRK16 I feel the same minus the nerve pain. I hope he won’t make an entrance too early as I feel so unprepared with this one!
Oh dear I wonder if your baby is OP which could explain the back pain... it’s good you have c-sectione booked in though. My back labour was horrendous!

SRK16 · 29/08/2019 20:09

@umck2014 I don’t think it is OP as can feel what I think is baby’s back/bum which keeps poking out of my stomach 🙊 unless it’s rotating itself around? Which it could be from some of the pains I’m getting! Feels like it’s all elbows in there!

userabcname · 29/08/2019 20:36

@SRK16 yes same! My back was hurting so much the night before last I actually thought I was going into labour! But then it eased and it's been ok since. Also getting period pains on and off. I'm 33w tomorrow so reassured others are feeling the same as I keep panicking baby will come early! Just want to get to my c section date in a calm and collected manner! I don't think my baby has "dropped" properly yet as I don't have that bowling ball between the legs feeling that I did with my first so that's something at least. I do feel like he's trying to kick and punch his way through my stomach currently though which is quite uncomfortable!

HJWT · 29/08/2019 20:43

Totally feel for you all lady's! Top of my bump is killing me 🥴 hungry and constipated such a great life 🤣🤣🤣

Frizzy1986 · 29/08/2019 21:33

I'm so glad everyone else is getting lots of weird pains. I still don't understand how you can tell if it's baby's bum or elbows or what. It all feels the same to me.
I've had a nice last day on holiday although got burnt down the side of my calf, ouch. I almost made it the whole holiday so I feel a bit of a tool to succumb on the final day.

Anyone else getting bouts of loose stools? I always panic that it's the "clear out" before labour. I've just had some rather randomly and I really hope it's not, I want to get to at least 37 weeks (12 days - holy crap that seems soon)

SRK16 · 29/08/2019 21:46

@frizzy1986 yes, some random bouts but not loads.

Just wondering if others have noticed a change in movements? Still feeling baby move a lot but it’s less kicks and more it shifting around/squirming, with the odd big kick/jab. Assuming because it’s running out of space to kick around as much?

Frizzy1986 · 29/08/2019 22:00

Same here @srk16 I feel hiccups, the occasional jab, but mostly twisting and turning I think. All at the same times of day though and in a regular patten id say.

umck2014 · 29/08/2019 22:06

I can only vaguely tell where the head is (as it feels hard), where the hands are ( as I feel the little scratches) and obvs the legs as they rip into my rib cage!

YorkshireIndie · 30/08/2019 05:18

There feels like a lot more squirming and wiggling.

Woke up at 3 and can't get back to sleep. Needed a wee and then the dog was on the bed and then the wind was loud and then the baby woke up for a party and then I needed to eat 🙄 Pregnancy is just one long joyful event

Em39ma · 30/08/2019 07:29

I’m glad others have noticed change in bowel movements. The last few days I’ve been going about 3 times a day.
I feel more stretching and pushing rather than kicks now, I can tell it’s a bottom by the fact she pushing it out and can basically see her butt crack😂
Had the midwife yesterday and even she said for some who is supposed to have way too much fluid, that is one hell of a bottom sticking out. Everyone keeps telling me if I have too much fluid, I won’t be able to see her sticking out.
Bump measurement is now off the midwifes scale, so will be back to scans from next week. Wish I could see the same doctor more than once, rather a different one each time and they say something completely different.

HJWT · 30/08/2019 08:28

@Em39ma Its so annoying isn't it, I honestly feel like they don't know what they are doing at times! Iv been booked in for a scan a week early so need to change that and seeing my consultant on a Thursday which I cant do because DD is at nursery and its 40 min drive away from her nursery but the appointment is 15 mins after she starts 🙄 even though I told them I cant do Thursdays they still booked me in! Drives me mad 😂

Em39ma · 30/08/2019 08:55

I just find it farcical, i would just like a plan and it being stuck too.
I know giving birth can throw anything at us, but would be nice if they tried to agree with each other.

YorkshireIndie · 30/08/2019 10:18

Which changing bags is everyone going for? Split between the skip hop ones and pacapod

cattaxi · 30/08/2019 10:20

Good morning. Another crap nights sleep here. A million wee wake ups and a wiggly baby. I’m sure I got more sleep when ds was a newborn!

Hope you are doing ok @AngeloMysterioso. Moving is so stressful, especially if it’s not gone the way you want. Hopefully moving into in laws will put you in an ace position to move quickly when you do find somewhere else.

@SRK16 I’m feeling quite a lot of pressure low down. Baby isn’t engaged or anything. I have to stand up very slowly or it feels like he could fall out 😂

Dh is playing with ds downstairs & I’m laying in bed. Need to get up and do some stuff, but it’s soooo comfy here!

Happy Friday everyone 🙂

cattaxi · 30/08/2019 10:22

@YorkshireIndie i’ve got a skip hop one from ds that hangs off the pram. It’s great. But I ended up using the sling & a rucksack a lot too. So I’m thinking of looking for a rucksack one that also has pram hooks - no idea if it even exists, but I think it will save me moving stuff from bag to bag all the time.

userabcname · 30/08/2019 10:50

@Frizzy1986 oh yes! Have had, er, looser movements shall we say since about 31 weeks. Bizarre because I had terrible constipation in the third trimester with DS!

@YorkshireIndie I'm going for a rucksack this time. I didn't get on with any of the change bags I tried with DS and he still needs a few bits if we are out for long so I reckon a solid rucksack which can be compartmentalised for baby and toddler is the best bet.

Hospital bag is done! I actually have 2 - a rucksack for baby and a bag for me so hope that's not too much! I couldn't squash it all into one as my slippers, towel and dressing gown took up too much room but don't want to be without them. I've packed 6 vests and 6 sleepsuits so hope that's enough for baby.

HJWT · 30/08/2019 11:07

@YorkshireIndie I was going to get a skip hop one but they have bad reviews for the zips breaking ! We went for this one in the end matches our pram and has lots of pockets!

@KatnissK I have 2 bags! I think its just easier rather than rooting round for baby's stuff in a big bag! Iv packed 2 baby grows in up to 1 month and 2 in 0-3, not sure how big he is going to be so thought best be safe 😂 x

OP posts:
userabcname · 30/08/2019 11:13

@HJWT good idea! I have packed the couple I had in newborn size and the rest are 0-3 I think.

Frizzy1986 · 30/08/2019 12:42

@HJWT2 I think that's the bag we have or it's very very similar. We had a regular change bag last time which was fine and we still have but dh is more likely to carry something like that, style and colour wise so we felt it was worth it.

We are just driving back to Calais at the end of our holiday. Baby is being a real wriggler and woke me up every hour last night.
Dd has had the best holiday which was essentially the sole point of it so it's been a success even if me and dh are shattered and dh has spent a week feeling like a pack horse.
Am looking forward to getting to my folks later tonight to have a rest and relax and not needing to worry about baby making an appearance.
Then on Sunday we drive back home to the North and then it's my last week at work, thank god.
I was hoping for a wind down but lots of people have left/quit/haven't been replaced so I reckon it's going to be full on. I'm not overly stressing though as it's not worth it.

@Em39ma I definitely can't see bum crack 😂 They say head feels bowling ball like if you really feel for it, but I don't want to end up feeling too hard and popping my waters or something lol (which I'm pretty sure is impossible anyway) Hopefully it'll be head down but I guess it's luck of the draw.

I've still got this feeling that I'm going to go early again, which then in turn makes me think ill go over.
