@Rememberallball huge congratulations! Such beautiful baby boys, you must be over the moon 😊 hope you are recovering ok and the boys continue to do well. Keep us posted and take care xx

SC0508 · 23/08/2019 16:04

@Rememberallball huge congratulations they are beautiful! Wishing you a speedy recovery 😀💙

Feeling this pregnancy so much today! Was on a roll this morning got DS ready for school early and was out the house on way to school and work early was so proud I had achieved this as it's been a while 🤣 but as the day has gone on my body has slowly given up, my feet have swollen so much in the last few hours and my whole body is just aches and pains! Took myself up to the staff room for a wee break as my poor feet couldn't handle anymore! 4 more weeks of work and I can't wait. DS staying at his grandads tonight so I plan on going home to a nice bath which OH has offered to make and climb into bed for an early night before a 5:30am alarm for work tomorrow 🙁

Newmumatlast · 23/08/2019 19:05

Just spotted this thread and so joined. I'm due October with my first baby after IVF. Really excited and nervous all wrapped into one. Have booked induction at just after 40 weeks after doing a bit of research on risks of going past due date and also risks with IVF. Hoping she comes without the need for it but we shall see as never done this before!

umck2014 · 23/08/2019 20:17

@Rememberallball Huge congratulations on the arrival of your twins! They are beautiful! Hope you're getting the support you need and a speedy recovery.

@cattaxi Haha i know re: the ads! I was thinking exactly that when i saw it!!

@Newmumatlast Welcome! I hope baby comes just before week 40 so there's no need for induction. I marginally avoided mine when i was scheduled in for induction for Week 40+1 and she was born on her due date after me seeing acupuncturists twice 2 days before she was born :)

YorkshireIndie · 23/08/2019 20:24

Do you ever look at a product and think this is worth getting or PFB because it says the word baby? I was looking at some face cloths that said baby and had to stop myself from buying just because

Newmumatlast · 23/08/2019 22:07

@umck2014 thank you :) yes hopefully just before but not too soon as I only stop work 11 days before due date lol

cattaxi · 23/08/2019 22:39

Hope you’re feeling better tonight @SC0508. I’m loving a good soak in the bath at the moment. It helps a lot with the discomfort. Getting out of the bath is starting to prove a bit undignified though!

Congratulations @Newmumatlast. It sounds like you’ve had a tough journey here. Not long until she’ll be in your arms now.

@YorkshireIndie we don’t really need to buy anything this time around. But I think i’ve Got itchy shopping feet or something, because I keep looking at anything and everything marketed for babies and wondering if we need it! So much cute stuff. I really enjoyed shopping for our 1st.

I think I’m going to have to cut back on cheese. Every time I have something cheesy like a pizza, nachos or pasta dishes my heartburn goes crazy. This is very bad news for me! I love cheese! No way will I survive until mid October without it!

newbabyyy2019 · 24/08/2019 00:05

Congratulations @Rememberallball they are literally adorable! Hope you make a quick recovery and the babies are all alright 💙

Rememberallball · 24/08/2019 06:02

Good morning all and so many thanks for all the congratulations sent our way. We had a busy day yesterday as daddy went home for a few hours and left the 3 of us in the capable hands of the midwives, nursery nurses and MCA’s. The boys had their first head to toe checks and, so far anyway, it seems all is where it should be and doing what it should do!! They had bloods done for jaundice and, while Joshua appears to be ok, Samuel’s levels are towards the higher end so he will have a repeat blood test today - he does look a little tanned so may need some light therapy, we’ll cross that bridge if it appears on our road!!

They have both increased their feed volumes and are taking around 90ml/kg/day which they seem to be tolerating at the moment.

I have been able to do skin to skin care with them before or during feeds. I am also trying to pump whenever they feed and, so far have managed the grand sum of 2.5 mls and they were at different times of day.

I think that’s all for an update for now - especially as I’ve had to keep going back to remove extra letters that have appeared in the text as I drop off while typing!! I’m having a shower later today which I’m really looking forward to xx

Em39ma · 24/08/2019 06:45

As they are early, your milk may take a couple of days to come in.
Glad you getting skin to skin, enjoy all the squishness.

HJWT · 24/08/2019 09:43

@cattaxi I HATE cheese but keep craving cheesy chips 😂 really need it atm!

@Rememberallball aw bless so nice to hear you are getting lots of cuddles 😌 hopefully your milk will come in over the next couple of days!!

Im starting to become seriously uncomfortable! Cant wait for growth scab on Thursday to see how big he is!

I was speaking to my DM yesterday, from when I ovulated I am not actually due till the 27th but when they measured baby at 12 weeks it brought it back to the 19th for due date, so if this baby is already 5 LBs at 32+5 then he is seriously large 😂

OP posts:
cattaxi · 24/08/2019 10:01

@HJWT2 ooohhhg! Cheesy chips! Mmmm! I think they’d set my stomach on fire right now.
Don’t worry too much about growth scans. They were spectacularly wrong with ds. Estimated he would be over 9.5lbs at full term. He came out a week late weighing 7.9 😂

I had the best nights sleep i’ve Had I’m ages! Managed to go from 10:30-4:30! Then back to sleep until 8am. Dh took the spare room and got up with ds. My hero!

@Rememberallball your milk is still coming in, so don’t worry yet about amounts pumped. You are doing ace. Great that you are getting skin to skin. I always recommend the kelly mom website to friends who bf. It’s a goldmine of info about feeding, pumping, supply etc.

I hope everyone has a lovely Saturday. It’s glorious sunshine here. Shame we are headed to a birthday party at the soft play place! I’m going to melt.

faelavie · 24/08/2019 10:27

@Rememberallball Congratulations to you on the birth of your lovely babies! Love the photos of them ❤️

I'm 33 weeks today. Baby has been breech for a month or so, and measuring bigger than it should. Midwife will see if baby is still breech in a few weeks time and if so, discuss my options. Not really worried about the breech presentation as I'm happy to have a c-section if need be (I would refuse an ECV). However I am a bit worried about how big I am measuring. I'll likely be sent for a growth scan.

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend!

Frizzy1986 · 24/08/2019 15:21

@Rememberallball sounds like they are doing really well. Dd was born at 37+4 and needed light therapy for jaundice at 1 week old so it's full termers who can be effected by that one as well.

I'm very hot. It's 30 degrees here in Normandy. We walked to a boulangerie to get some croissants for breakfast but it wasn't open so we ended up going on a loop. We then walked to the beach and spent about 3 hours there (I got dh to buy a parasol to give me some shade) and then we walked to the market to get some lunch before walking back to the apartment. I'm done in. I think I've done at least 10000 steps which is not good for my hips.
I hurt a lot and cant get comfy to have a nap. I didn't sleep well last night either.
We then need to walk somewhere for tea! But my god, it's blooming beautiful here.

HJWT · 24/08/2019 19:16

Hows everyone feeling in the heat ?? I had to go in today for monitoring as DS hadn't moved and wasn't moving with being poked etc!! He didn't move the whole time I was there but the trace seemed fine, have to go for a scan tomorrow to check on him, another 40 minute drive and £5 in parking!! Have a scan on Thursday to so that will be £15 by the end of the week 🙄

They are also filming at the hospital and I walk past EVERY time! Hope I don't see my fat ass on the TV 😂😂😂

It has been a hot day. My feet have been swollen since getting up. Going to take the dog for a walk in a bit as it will be cooler for both of us. Can I share a picture of the fabulous items my friend has made me. Feeling so lucky

Due October 2019 - 14 weeks to go 💙💖
YorkshireIndie · 24/08/2019 20:36

@HJWT hope baby is okay

cattaxi · 24/08/2019 20:59

I’ve been ok in the heat, despite a busy day. But we’re very West & on the coast, so probably cooler than most areas. My feet did swell for the first time after I ran some errands in town. Pregnancy is so glam!

Hope your scan is ok tomorrow @HJWT2. I can’t believe you have to pay for hospital parking! I’m in wales & they scrapped it years ago.

What a lovely collection of things @YorkshireIndie! I love little ones in knitted stuff. Dh’s Step mum is an absolute wiz’s with her knitting needles & crochet hooks, so we are very lucky to have loads of gorgeous things for the baby.

Anyone got any good heartburn tips? I’ve been managing well with ranitidine & gaviscon melts so far. But that’s not cutting it the past few days.

Em39ma · 24/08/2019 21:42

@Cattaxi I’m on omoperzole, brilliant stuff. But my first pregnancy symptom is indigestion, so I’ve been on it now since 12 weeks.
Been a little worse last couple of weeks, so going ask if I can take second one half way through the day.
Been hot, but managed to stay inside, so I wasn’t too bad.
We have 13 over for a BBQ tomorrow afternoon, so trying to get the house clean and tidy. Very tired now.

HJWT · 25/08/2019 07:40

@YorkshireIndie Thanks, he was moving last night but still not as much as usual! Hopefully he was just having a lazy day from the heat!

@cattaxi I know parking is a joke! They recently changed it to so instead of getting a ticket it takes your picture now!! Used to be able to press lost ticket if you were more than a few hours and get it cheap so dread to think how much its going to be to park when DS is born 🤔 better start saving some £1 coins 😂

OP posts:
Em39ma · 25/08/2019 08:46

@HJWT can you get a weekly ticket. At our hospital it’s £10 for seven days or £1.40 per hour. We now get a weekly one if we know we going to be up there a lot , works out cheaper.

HJWT · 25/08/2019 09:07

@Em39ma Nope ! Unfortunately its a private company now! What makes it even worse is the machine in the hospital never bloody works and the other one is a walk I get so out of breath 😂

userabcname · 25/08/2019 10:31

@Rememberallball glad to hear the boys are doing well! Enjoy your shower!!

@YorkshireIndie - what a lovely friend you have! That's a fantastic present!

@HJWT - hope everything is ok with baby. Hopefully just a lazy day as you said.

Everything seems to be ticking along ok here despite the stress of my last appt - all test results normal and bp settled down so that's a relief. Have definitely lost my appetite and rather more irritable than usual- not sure if it's the heat, the third trimester or just me! My aim for next week is to have my hospital bag packed and ready to go before I return to work since I remain paranoid my waters are going to go in front of 30 teenagers so I need to make sure I have some maternity pads and an old towel at the ready just in case!

HJWT · 25/08/2019 10:43

@KatnissK I know how you feel! I just CANT be bothered to cook! Cant wait to get this baby out and get back to my normal self just a tired version 😭 xx

Anyone else planning to breastfeed ? I did with DD for 3 months then had to stop due to a procedure I had done! Hoping BF will help me lose the weight 😁
