Has anyone's bump went really hard and kicks turn painful? my bump is rock solid tonight and some kicks are painful but he seems to still be moving around like crazy 😂

Em39ma · 19/08/2019 19:06

I spend most of my days watching crap tv now.
Taking my van and mum to pick up the car seat, base, side by side and high chair/ rocker tomorrow.
I actually find it easier to drive my huge Citroen relay van than the car.
After my bosses let me go after the miscarriage, I’ve taken this year out of my business too.
Never been this long without exercise or making something etc.
Having both families over this weekend, as I don’t think I will be up to it or in hospital to get a chance again.

Em39ma · 19/08/2019 19:09

@SC0508 that’s how my bump feels all the time.
They say it’s because of the extra water.
@HJWT BH feel like they skin on the front of your belly is super tight and a bit like colic in my case. Not sure if everyone feels them differently.

cattaxi · 19/08/2019 20:37

I’m in bed already! So uncomfortable and tired today. Have had a lovely afternoon with ds & some friends playing at the beach and playground. But I didn’t sleep well last night so it’s wiped me out. I’ll be asleep in no time!

@Em39ma i’ve been having quite a lot of bh’s since about 20 weeks. They can be quite uncomfortable sometimes. It’s hard to describe how they feel. Everything in and around my uterus just kind of goes tight and hard for a bit. I get them when I’m tired, if i’ve been on my feet for ages, or if I really need to pee.

@secretlyhermione good luck with your scan tomorrow.

Em39ma · 19/08/2019 20:54

I’m laid on sofa still watching Avengers Endgame

Rememberallball · 19/08/2019 21:01

I went into the nearest city with DH today after our midwife appointment - she was happy with everything and had a bit of a chat about the layout of the NICU and transitional care unit (our hospital don’t do unit tours as they don’t have the staff to do them so, the first time I will see it will be when I’m in having the twins).

Anyway, we were out from around 11am-5pm with travel time (went by bus instead of driving) and waiting for the once an hour bus. I went up for a lie down on the bed and slept for at least 1 1/2 hours and am counting down the minutes till I can go back to bed!!

Got another growth scan on Wednesday and am getting a bit anxious that my smaller twin won’t have grown much again so am preparing myself mentally that the twins could be here this week!! Bought more maternity pads and a cute little outfit for each of the babies in the sale at Boots in town - couldn’t get the Child’s Farm Baby Essentials kit as they were out of stock but they said they will honour the voucher after the babies are born if I don’t get back in beforehand. We had lunch out which I really enjoyed and even had a massive ice cream sundae. Brought back some Krispy Kreme donuts for later in the week and would be tempted by them if I wasn’t still so full after the sundae.

Hope everyone has a good week xx

umck2014 · 19/08/2019 21:02

@SC0508 yes occasionally I feel that too. It feels differently to BH though. It kinda feels like the uterus is stretching and having a bit of spasm... not a pleasant feeling at all!

@HJWT2 I’m watching Emma Willis now - it’s brought back some memories 🙈🙉 It’s a good show though!

BH feels like a bad period pain to me... the lower front of my belly goes tight and spasm. But each time doesn’t last too long. It’s bearable.

SC0508 · 19/08/2019 21:06

It seems to just be the top of my bump that is rock solid and the bottom soft, I first thought it could be BH but it's been like this at all times since this afternoon, he's still kicking around so I guess I have nothing to worry about

SRK16 · 19/08/2019 21:34

Is it normal not to have had any BH? I’ve had what feels like mild period pain but don’t think that’s BH?

I’m so tired, I’ve been run down the last few days and just can’t seem to shake it off. Starting to really feel heavy with lots of pelvic pressure. Cannot wait to finish work in 2.5 weeks!

Ju5tAgirlstandinginfrontofaboy · 20/08/2019 01:07

🙋‍♀️ another one with Braxton Hicks. I tend to get them from midnight-ish until 4am. They often wake me up and paired with my restless legs it's a challenge to sleep well. I mustn't complain though I had them the same in my last pregnancy and had my labour was around 3 hours so I tell myself that they are beneficial. There isn't anything that medically proves it but my own theory keeping me sane.
I am finishing for mat leave on Friday - woohoo!
Not due until 6 Oct but just want to try and have some nice time with DD and a rest as I can only sleep well in the day.
Hope everyone else is having a good sleep! I'm on my birth ball with a hot chocolate.

Ju5tAgirlstandinginfrontofaboy · 20/08/2019 01:09

@SRK16 yes totally normal not to have any BH. In fact I believe some women have them quite gently and not even notice. Your bump may just harden up a little without you noticing any discomfort.

Em39ma · 20/08/2019 06:17

Woohoo I managed 3 hours sleep in one go. That is a first in about 8 weeks.
My hip is now pure agony, but I’m not as tired.

SC0508 · 20/08/2019 06:50

@Em39ma me too I managed 3.5 hrs woke up at 3:30 this morning so shocked and confused to how I had slept that long but soon had to run to pee 😂 my bump has softened up a bit over night again but I have a lot of pain under my bump now feels it's been stretched from one side to another especially when I am trying to turn in bed.

Em39ma · 20/08/2019 07:36

Yes I was like that.
My bump is super hard all time now. You can also see her bum sticking out of my bump on the right permanently and her feet on the left.

userabcname · 20/08/2019 15:17

@SRK16 totally normal - i never had any in my first pregnancy that I was aware of! I am getting them very mildly this time but not loads and they don't hurt or anything.

I saw the mw today - bit stressful as bp is raised and she double checked the heartbeat as she thought something was wrong but then decided it was ok (!!!). Also she said she thinks I may be losing my mucus plug so to be on alert for leaking waters. Feeling quite stressed now and urine sample sent to the hospital so if they are concerned there I may have to go in tomorrow - they will ring. Arrghhh!

YorkshireIndie · 20/08/2019 15:55

@KatnissK I am sorry to hear about your appointment. Sending you Thanks

I still maintain if a man had to go through all of this - it would have been outsourced years ago. Baby has been on the move all day and just want my bed but have to tidy up because of the survey happening

HJWT · 20/08/2019 16:38

@Rememberallball & @KatnissK your both really going through it aren't you ! Hopefully your babies will be good and stay in for a few more weeks!

On the Emma Willis programme there was twins born at 35 weeks and they got to take them home once mum recovered! Was quite surprised at that ☺️

I am super tired, I said to DH if I went to the hospital with reduced movement they would probably induce me!! He moves ALL night & day has a small sleep then moves all night again then the next day might move once if i poke him 😂 then repeats!

4 weeks till I see my consultant 😬 FX!

Hi ladies! I had my scan today, we weren't too impressed as the doctor was quite hasty. Then it seemed to us that she let slip the gender (we are having a surprise reveal at birth) but are not sure haha. Main thing is the baby is all ok, head down and growing the right way! Tomorrow I'm having a pap test so hopefully get the thrush or whatever it is under control! Hope all of you are doing well :)

userabcname · 20/08/2019 18:02

Thanks @HJWT and @YorkshireIndie fingers crossed all is well and I don't have to go in tomorrow.

Rememberallball · 20/08/2019 18:11

Thanks @HJWT2, even if I get another reprieve tomorrow, they said they’d only let me go to 36 weeks and I’m 34 weeks on Thursday so getting very close to the arrival of these twins. We’ll be in until they are a good weight and feeding independently so I’m preparing for that to be a few weeks especially if the smaller twin is still around/under 3lb this week!!

cattaxi · 20/08/2019 18:12

I hope your growth scan goes well tomorrow @Rememberallball. Am very jealous of your Krispy Kreme! They don’t sell them anywhere round us, which is probably a good thing. I love the chocolate & custard one.

Jealous of your stretches of sleep @Em39ma and @SC0508. I swear I was awake every hour last night.

That sounds stressful @KatnissK. Hopefully all is ok.

You are so right @YorkshireIndie. Men would not put up with this!

I hope everyone else is doing ok. I’m feeling really fed up & miserable today. I’m so, so tired and uncomfortable. And i’ve Got a whopping sore throat. Paracetamol is shit! Going to have another super early night and hope I feel better by tomorrow as I’m supposed to be delivering a training course. Thank god dh is home to sort out dinner etc.

Em39ma · 20/08/2019 18:24

@Cattaxi it is the first time I’ve slept that long in well over 8 weeks. Was really nice though, until the sore neck, hip and leg kick in because I’ve laid in one place too long. Not sure I can win at the moment.
I’m so tired now, went to pick up the baby stuff from the independent store I ordered it from. Fine going up, but on the way back m25 had 40 minute delays, M3 closed, so decided to come back A3/A31 and they thought was a good idea to dig it up over the summer holidays!! So what should have been at 50 minute journey home turned into 2 hour one.
Sat down at 4 and have just woken up, oops was only sitting for a minute. I think DH decided it was safer to leave me, than wake me up😂 was probably a wise decision.

Rememberallball · 20/08/2019 18:29

@cattaxi, I have to travel to the next county to buy my KK’s (all sounds very dramatic if I put it that way - but, in reality, it’s also our nearest city and only 15 miles away) usually we get them from motorway services when we’re travelling to visit friends/family but occasionally, if we go into the city, we’ll buy some on the way home. My DH loves the strawberry Kreme ones and my favourites are the Biscoff ones - nearly bought the chocolate custard one yesterday but salted caramel won the day!!

SC0508 · 20/08/2019 21:51

Really hoping I get the same sleep tonight felt great this morning after getting 3.5hrs solid 😂 DS is back to school tomorrow and I can't wait to get some me time again and relax! 31 weeks tomorrow feel it's going fast but my neighbour just had a baby and hearing baby cry just makes me want to have my one in my arms 😀

Em39ma · 21/08/2019 06:01

I hoped I would get the 3 hours last night, no such luck.
Managed just under an hour that’s it in one go.
Growth scan and consultant first thing this morning, bump has grown by 5 inches in the two weeks. So will see if they want me in or they are going to drain some of the fluid off. Not keen on that idea, seems to be rather risky.
