If anyone knows of a thread already up and being used please link it below 😁

Wanted to start a thread for all the October mums to be if not as no one to talk to in the real world 🤞🏻

I am due 19th with a little boy and already have a DD(3)

Cant believe its only 12 weeks until October 😬

Yes, the thought of having another to run around after isn’t fun.
But apparently according to all my old bosses, I will be having another within the year. I know why they saying it, but can I have this one first.

cattaxi · 17/08/2019 08:26

Morning! I just woke up from the most bizarre dream where I was sick, so panicking that I was pregnant again - before this one has even come out 😂 I woke up really confused & worried & it took a while to realise that’s impossible!
Dh has got up with ds, so I’m enjoying a bit of a chill in bed. So lovely!

@SunshineSophia I basically had a whole year’s worth of leave & bank holidays to use between June & October. I’d not taken any earlier due to being off work for 3 months with hyperemesis.

Welcome @SC0508 - I’ve only just joined & it’s great to be able to complain to someone other than dh!!

Oh god @AngeloMysterioso I would LOVE some unbroken sleep! Between ds & the constant need to pee, it feels like it’s been years. It probably has 😴

Ha @rosie1998! I’m hoping the weather stays mild until mid October, so I can live in my Birkenstock’s & not have to attempt socks!!

Positivity86 · 17/08/2019 10:27

Morning! I also have anaemia and been on iron tablets for 2 weeks...it's hard to tell if they are making a difference or not?!
Like everyone else I've forgotten what sleeping feels like...I wake up multiple times, either so thirsty or needing the loo...then baby girl wakes up and sits in my ribs 😆

I finish work on 30 August. Got loads of annual leave to take which I've saved up.

Not long now ladies, hang in there x

SC0508 · 17/08/2019 11:10

I definitely feel the iron tablets are making a difference but tiredness has kicked in badly today! Woke up to alarms for work at 5:30 and just wanted to curl up and cry at the thought of work, only 5 more weeks of work the countdown is now on Grin. I am now experiencing the whole wakening up every 50-60 minutes needing to pee guess this is practise for sleepiness nights. Has everyone else packed their hospital bags? I haven't even started and really don't know where to lol

Frizzy1986 · 17/08/2019 11:50

@SC0508 I've literally just been to sainsburys and bought everything for the hospital bag. I need it packed this week so I can take it to France on holiday. 34 weeks on Tuesday so only 6 weeks to go. Weird feeling.
I got maternity pads, breast pads, Lansinoh cream, mini toiletries, lucozade, cereal bars, cotton wool, nappy bags and big knickers. I have everything else I need already. I even got some tena bed pads just in case as I can't afford to clean amniotic fluid out of my mattress. Last time my waters went on the toilet so hoping for the same this time.

It's been a busy morning. Dd has swimming at 8:30am and then it was food shop, then hospital bag shop and now the library to renew her books.
Looking forward to getting home and hanging out the fabrics from the pram and carseat which I put on to wash. Then after lunch I need to get the pram outside and clean it.
I'll be feeling much more prepared then.

Dh needs to build the change table this weekend, but as the holes in the outer sections are different sizes to the ones on the inner sections, we aren't sure how to screw it together. This will be our last child though so we are going to nail and glue it together instead.
I try and share my pregnancy complaints with dh but I don't think he listens at all. Not sure he can even comprehend what is happening to my body right now and how tough it is.
I haven't washed up for 3 days as I just need to sit down and rest sometimes and obviously as I haven't specifically requested that dh do it, it's all still sat there. He rarely does stuff on his own initiative.

HJWT · 17/08/2019 14:28

@Frizzy1986 WOW! My DH is bad but he would wash the pots up 😂 then say I was a dosser for not doing it haha! xx

I’ve been on iron tablets for a month but feel they’ve done nothing. I’m still just as tired and breathless 😓

secretlyhermione · 17/08/2019 16:19

Hi all! Can't believe how close it's getting now! We just came back from our two week holiday and it's back to work on Monday. 16 September is my last day so have exactly one month left which is incredible! I think I'll prepare everything, including hospital bags and such, when my maternity leave kicks in. Getting very excited about meeting out little bean!

homley · 17/08/2019 16:50

@cattaxi hope you enjoyed a lovely, chilled out morning. I am loving my birkenstocks more than normal, just wish I could wear them for work!

@Positivity86 not long to go now, you must be so excited to be finishing work!

@SC0508, you will be a pro at the sleepless nights with getting up to wee so often! Or at least that is what I am telling myself Grin I found once I ordered one item for my hospital bag it all snowballed from there just need to pack it all now!

@secretlyhermione hope you had a lovely holiday, where did you go? Hopefully your last few weeks will fly by!!

OH has built and plastered a wall so we now have a nursery (when it is cleared out and painted) and an office. Now it is starting to feel real but so excited to get little ones room ready. Need to pack hospital bag as going away in just over 3 weeks. Time is flying by!

userabcname · 17/08/2019 18:18

Hey everyone, experiencing a bit of an odd thing today....lots of jelly-like discharge (clear, no smell)...kind of looks like google images of the mucus plug but not blood stained. I know the mucus plug can be lost in bits over the third trimester and re-generate even so I'm not sure if I should be worried or not? Or maybe it's not even that and it's just normal discharge? I didn't have this with DS - I was on permanent labour watch in my third trimester and had absolutely nothing until my waters broke at 40+3! Is anyone else getting this?

HJWT · 17/08/2019 18:21

@KatnissK I wouldn't worry to much lots of women's discharge increases in the third trimester x

userabcname · 17/08/2019 18:38

@HJWT thanks! I am going to step away from Dr Google and stop stressing myself out!

secretlyhermione · 17/08/2019 19:17

@homley we were in Italy and Switzerland! I actually live in Italy, so we went to Liguria in the north to the beach and then Switzerland as my parents were holidaying there so joined them for a few days! It was lovely. I'm hoping they will fly by as well!!

HJWT · 17/08/2019 19:47

Anybody else look forward to crawling into bed 😂 DH & I have been going to bed when DD does ATM 😌 we actually talk so guess thats a plus haha xx

OP posts:
SC0508 · 17/08/2019 20:16

Yes! I can't wait to crawl into my bed been such a long day with being awake at 5:30am for work luckily tomorrow is a later wake up of 7am for work 😂 not that I sleep very much with always needing to pee and trying to get comfortable 😒. DS has been hyper all day since I have gotten home so can't wait to just cuddle up and fall asleep 😂

HJWT · 17/08/2019 20:59

Well I am 90% sure baby is now breech 😖 can defo feel his feet kicking my cervix.... please turn back around 😫 my worst fear is a c-section!!

OP posts:
SC0508 · 17/08/2019 21:06

That's one of my fears too c sections have always scared me, I remember back with ds 1 I got to due date and feared I would need one and then he was born that day via water birth best decision I ever made was so much calmer and managed with no pain relief hoping for same this time around 😂

YorkshireIndie · 17/08/2019 21:19

I swear I am pregnant with an octopus 😫 A painful octopus

I take my hat of to all of you with children and pregnant. I can just about cope with the dog and he is happy for me to throw a ball at him from the bed

cattaxi · 17/08/2019 21:56

@Frizzy1986 nice work on the hospital bag. I washed some babygro’s today, so feeling like I’m finally getting started!

@homley my chilled out morning was slightly disturbed by an almost 4 year old wanting to tell me lots of very important things about dinosaurs 🙄
I’m loving my birkies this year. I usually live in flip flops, but wanted more support for pregnancy & they’re great. I’m also lucky enough to get away with them at work.
Lovely that you have your nursery ready. We’re not doing one so we can hang on to the spare room as long as possible!

@KatnissK I think weird discharge is pretty standard in the 3rd trimester. I’d probably only worry if it wasn’t clear or if it smelt funny or if I had any other symptoms.

@secretlyhermione you holiday sounds lovely ☀️

@HJWT2 I’m so ready to crawl into bed every night! I love getting comfy with all my pillows!
Don’t worry too much about a c-section. They really aren’t as bad as you think. I had an EMCS with ds. It was actually a pretty good experience & I healed really well. I’m having an elective this time as well.
My baby is suspected breach too. The dancing on the cervix feeling is so weird. But he’s been all over the place the past few days, so I’m wondering if he may have turned.

I hope everyone manages some decent sleep tonight. We’ve been walking in the woods all afternoon. I hope that means ds will sleep all night! If only I didn’t wake up to pee every hour!

Frizzy1986 · 17/08/2019 23:11

@secretlyhermione I'm so jealous. I love Switzerland. My folks are there at the moment after holidaying in Germany. They've gone to visit my grandads half brother (my grandad was Swiss) and the photos look glorious.

@katnissK I'm sure it's all OK. I've had a massive surge in discharge the past 2 weeks.

I completely overdid it today. Didn't get back to the house until lunchtime and after about 30mins sitting down, I folded the washing, cleaned the pram, car seat all the inserts etc and then like an idiot carried them all back upstairs. My hips are killing me.
We are going for a swim in the morning though so that should help.

I really don't want a CS either. I think baby is transverse right now though. Dd was in position, like the perfect position, from about 28 weeks, so it's all a bit new for me.
They say there's still plenty of time for them to move at this point though. I should get more info on Wed at the midwife appointment.

Em39ma · 18/08/2019 06:07

I’ve been awake since 4, only managed 30 minutes bursts of sleep before that. I really need to just sleep solidly for a few hours, my hip is really painful in bed. Pillows made it unbearable, so now just have thin one under my bump.
Considering taking a saw to the mattress and making a bump sized hole, so I can sleep on my front again.
It’s going to be a long day.

YorkshireIndie · 18/08/2019 06:57

@Em39ma I feel your pain. I really struggle with getting back to sleep if I wake up in the middle of the night. It is pillow city in my bed

@Frizzy1986 it is hard to take it easy sometimes when everything needs doing. Hope your hips feel better. I am sure baby will move head down. My mum said swimming helped move my sister

SC0508 · 18/08/2019 07:39

I think that's what I miss the most sleeping on my belly oh doesn't understand how it's comfortable hates it 😂 hopefully only less than 10 weeks till I can again 😂 off to work this morning hoping it goes really quick so I can go home and hopefully nap 😁

Frizzy1986 · 18/08/2019 07:59

I feel lucky that I was a side sleeper to start with. At least I've just got hip pain to deal with, not having to learn a whole new sleeping position.

I do love the swimming though. It really soothes the pain. They recommended aqua natal at physio but it's Tuesday lunchtimes. I know you get paid time off for appointments but I wasn't sure if that extended to aqua natal.
I think if I was referred to it officially with a letter or something to say that they advised I attended due to pgp, then it might be possible but they just recommend it and I think they say it to most pregnant women at some point.
It's silly that they are all only during working hours though.
I'm only at work for 8 more days though because I'm on holiday so it seemed silly rocking the boat by asking the question when I might as well just swim in my own time at a weekend.

secretlyhermione · 18/08/2019 09:26

@cattaxi @frizzy1986 yes holiday was glorious but unfortunately am battling a nasty case of thrush so that's slightly bringing me down. I'm going to mention it on Tuesday as I have my 30 week scan booked in then but doubt there is more that can be done (I've been using the cream a week now).
Also having trouble sleeping with constant loo trips and feeling very hot!
My biggest fear is also a C-section so praying baby is in the right position. I'm feeling him/her a lot now, he/she is Def very active in there!
