Yes I get the hard lumps that just won't budge, nice to here others are feeling the changes too.

Another symptom.... swelling 😳 my feet and now hands, again read this is normal but can also be pre-eclampsia which worries me. How are you supposed to tell if it comes in quickly?

As you can probably tell I'm quite anxious,
A previous miscarriage has made me very aware of what can go wrong and it's horrible... although I'm really enjoying my pregnancy it's always in the back of my head still at 30+ weeks

AngeloMysterioso · 09/08/2019 18:55

Well, what a day!

We had our growth scan after the FH measurement came up a little small last week. Happy to report that our little Bean is bang average- right on the 50th centile, estimated weight 2lbs 15oz Grin. Because of the GD diagnosis I have two more scans booked in between now and the due date, but we're not specially worried about those.

GD clinic was a bit of an information overload, I now have to test myself 4x a day and I can't say I'm looking forward to making the required dietary changes, but I'm cautiously optimistic that I'll still be able to get the full term water birth I've been aiming for.

Also... my arm is still really sore from the WC vax I had yesterday morning. What is that about??

And next week... no medical appointments!! Woohoo!

HJWT · 09/08/2019 19:06

@AngeloMysterioso aww fab! Hope you can keep your levels down and have the birth you want :)

I am counting down the days (49 to be exact / 7weeks) till I can start trying all of the different ways to naturally induce labour and 'soften the cervix' 😂 with DD I was ready to give birth by 37 weeks, 1CM dilated and soft cervix! So don't think I will go to 40 weeks with DS (if I can help it anyway) 😌

Got my old account back btw! Have to be extra good to stay on 😁

Anyone else starting to feel really fed up?!😩

OP posts:
gkeal3 · 10/08/2019 19:00

@HJWT a little tbh! I do enjoy pregnancy but I'm starting to feel uncomfortable a lot and pregnancy nausea seems to be coming back again after 12 weeks of having none! I don't want to wish my pregnancy away because I do love it and know this is my last but I am feeling a bit eurgh (best way to describe it lol)
I miss wine too 🤣🥂

HJWT · 10/08/2019 20:00

@gkeal3 Oh god! All I want is a cocktail, I just want to have the baby so I can go on a strict diet & exercise 🤣 I feel like I'm carrying an elephant baby haha, my app says today baby is around 2.9 Pounds! He was 3.5 Pounds on the scan last week 😩🤯 x

First full day of blood testing for GD, was feeling quite pleased with myself after getting good levels yesterday and this morning even though I had a bagel for breakfast, so when I got a 7.8 (which is 0.1 too high) after eating two pieces of toast with some fairly disgusting “cocoa and hazelnut butter” for lunch, I cried for about an hour.

HJWT · 11/08/2019 08:38

@AngeloMysterioso aw don't be silly! .1 over is not a big deal, try not to have anything with sugar in though, protein is good as it helps release sugar slower, I used to have a ham/chicken sandwich on wholemeal bread with a small packet of crisps and my day time levels were always fine!! It was my morning level that was always high 🤯 xx

Hi everyone! How's everyone feeling? I've been battling a week of thrush so seen better days but trying to stay positive! DP has been absolutely fabulous and supportive and also helps we're on holiday so can get away with taking it very easily. I'm -9 weeks till the due date now, starting to feel very real!

YorkshireIndie · 11/08/2019 10:17

I know what you mean @secretlyhermione 9 weeks seems incredibly short 😱

Decided to get organised and divide my baby clothes between 0-6 months and 6 months plus. Been picking up items in the sale

YorkshireIndie · 11/08/2019 10:21

Has anyone packed their hospital bag?

secretlyhermione · 11/08/2019 10:58

@YorkshireIndie I know it's mental!! I haven't been any baby clothes yet so I am very far from sorting or packing a hospital bag. I'm planning on doing it when I'm on maternity leave which is mid September, not expecting this baby to come early but you never know I guess!

Frizzy1986 · 11/08/2019 15:14

I've not done my hospital bag yet, but need to do it so we can take it to France just in case.
Think I just have breast pads, lansinoh and maternity pads to buy and can pack towels, slippers and bed stuff we already have.
We have nappies, wipes and loads of clothes so that's OK for baby.

I'm 33 weeks on Tuesday so only around 7 weeks to go. Dd arrived at 37+4 though so who knows (it's scary to think that she arrived just over 4 weeks from now)
I've started washing all the clothes I have up to 3 months. I've so many of them it's unreal. I've finished washing the bedding and muslin but I think there's still about 3 loads still to do.

Dh is annoying me again. I've given him tasks to do but he still moans, does nothing all day and then complains when the next day he has double the tasks to do.
I've done the washing up and mopping today (some of his tasks this weekend) as he won't get round to them having sat on his arse most of yesterday.
He then grumped because he hadnt sat down yet today. Well neither had I, yet he then disappeared upstairs and I found him resting on the bed (I assumed he was upstairs being helpful)
Don't think he gets the pgp pain and that I should be resting, but can't because he doesn't step up.
Wish I lived closer to my family as I know I could ask them to help me get on top of things.

Only 8 days of work until holiday and then I'm only back for 5 days before mat leave. It can't come soon enough!

HJWT · 11/08/2019 16:31

@secretlyhermione I feel a lot better today! Hope that clears up for you soon cant be nice!!

@YorkshireIndie Not packed mine yet I think I did it at 36 weeks with DD so will pack my bags that weekend and get the bedroom ready etc! 😬

@Frizzy1986 DH doesn't do anything around the house as I am a SAHM 😩 he does wash up and make food though so cant get to mad 😂 was in agony yesterday after cleaning the house on Friday!

Iv got 10 weeks till due date 2 birthdays between now & then (DH & DD) so will soon go 🤯

Hello! Please can I join in?
I'm due 6 October and starting to get nervous.
I'm totally unprepared but going to make a start this week. I've ordered quite a few things through mamas and papas though so not too bad.
Has anyone seen any good (cheap) tops and pyjamas for breastfeeding? I'm determined to make a good go of it this time? I was also hoping to find a good cover up too for out and about as I was quite shy last time x

HJWT · 12/08/2019 07:41

@Ju5tAgirlstandinginfrontofaboy happymama.co.uk looks good for that 😁

Here is a question: a woman at work is giving me a cot bed that they got for their grandson. Apparently the mattress has only been used twice - would you use the mattress or buy a new one?

angel0071987 · 12/08/2019 17:58

@YorkshireIndie definitely buy a new one. You don't know where it was stored or in what condition. Could have been in damp loft and gotten mould spores in or anything. Better safe than sorry I always say

SunshineSophia · 12/08/2019 18:17

@YorkshireIndie I'd buy a new one - you just don't know how they've stored the mattress or what the condition of their house is like. Better safe than sorry!

Hospital bag is all packed - read a post on MN about using sandwich bags to pack baby outfits so DH doesn't mess up my neatly organised drawers have to rifle round and try to put an outfit together if I'm in hospital for longer than expected. I've tried it with a few outfits but when baby's here I doubt I'll have the time to pack outfit bags!

Em39ma · 12/08/2019 18:29

I’ve got one more day of blood sugar testing, apart from one rogue 9.8 have know idea why all been below 7.8. My morning ones can vary from 4.3 to 6, but the machine isn’t saying I haven’t had any highs, so hopefully I don’t have to keep on.
I’m packing my bag at the moment, but because my water is so high may have to be taken in for the last few weeks .
I’m getting fed up now, but more to do with my aches and pains.
Had my physio this morning and my left hip has dropped 2 inches below the right, which explains the pain in my leg. Got exercises to do laid on the bed, as standing would probably make it worse.
Sorry for the essay, hope you all good.

HJWT · 12/08/2019 20:02

@SunshineSophia when DD was born I put a vest baby grow hat and nappy together at the top of her bag so DH knew what to grab and was not going through the bag to find anything!

Thank god because I was OUT of it, I don't even remember anyone getting her dressed!

OP posts:
HJWT · 12/08/2019 20:03

@Em39ma is everyone a lot further a long than me ? I feel like I need go go and pack my bag 😂 not even bought pads yet! 😬

OP posts:
SunshineSophia · 12/08/2019 20:11

@ HJWT ah good idea putting a nappy with the outfit too, I didn't think of that! I'll leave the outfits at the top of the bag like you suggest so DH doesn't have to wade through breast and maternity pads to get to them :P

I'm commuting into London tomorrow for the first time in 5ish weeks. I'm glad to be mobile and back to work but I'm so close to my mat leave now my brain just isn't in it anymore. Anywhoo... 6 weeks to go :)

cattaxi · 12/08/2019 20:13

Hello! Can I join? Ds 2 due in 9 weeks. Had a bit of an eventful first half to the pregnancy with hyperemesis and needing extra testing after the 12 week scan.
Trying to enjoy the calm before the storm now! But getting bigger & more uncomfortable every day, so enjoy probably isn’t the right word!

HJWT · 12/08/2019 21:17

@cattaxi Yeah I think we are all at the point of just plodding along 😁

Iv wrote a list of the final things we need! Just crazy how fast the next few weeks will go 🤯

Was sat with DH before watching TV once DD was in bed asleep and said "Can you believe in 10 weeks we will be sat here doing this with a baby probably screaming at us" 🤣 his poor face x
