I've had braxton hicks all night. Constantly. Feel so uncomfortable.

mumof23188 · 15/07/2019 20:58

I’ve had enough! 38+5 had growth scan today and baby is already 8lb2 and I’m only 2/5ths engaged. He’s going to be late and huge!!!!!

dancingelephants · 15/07/2019 21:14

@mumof23188 2/5th palpable? That's good. That means the midwife can only feel 2/5th of baby's head outside of the pelvis.
I've been 4/5th palpable for weeks (80% of baby's head outside pelvis) and today I've been told I'm 2/5th (40% outside pelvis) which means baby is more engaged. Though a friend of mine was 2/5th for 3 weeks before her baby came.

mumof23188 · 15/07/2019 21:44

@dancingelephants I’m not sure? She just said 2/5ths engaged and she can still feel some of the head? She didn’t elaborate anymore than that and I didn’t ask. That’s great news things are progressing for you. When is your due date? At my last growth scan at 36 weeks I was also told 2/5ths engaged so nothings really changed for me in the last almost 3 weeks!

Helsvamp · 15/07/2019 22:47

Been having pains for over a hour. But not sure of real thing or not as each labour as felt different

Due date today (15th) and I am soooo fed up, on my 4th week of mat leave and bored and in pain with spd-feels like baby is never going to come!Confused

mumof23188 · 16/07/2019 08:53

How is everyone doing today?

kittlesticks · 16/07/2019 09:25

Not brilliant here. 1 week and 1 day overdue today. Had a terrible birth experience with my son and was desperately hoping to avoid induction this time. But induction is booked.

mumof23188 · 16/07/2019 09:48

@kittlesticks ah I’m sorry to hear that. Did you have an induction with your first? When’s it booked for?

I’m 38+6 today.

kittlesticks · 16/07/2019 10:20

Yes I was induced with my son but slightly earlier, as they had some concerns. He was fine when born but it took about a week in the hospital and I had to have an assisted delivery. I was really hoping to go into labour naturally this time and to have a smoother experience but I feel I'm heading for another induction. Just feel very anxious.

Helsvamp · 16/07/2019 10:43

I had my little girl at 7.25am 8lb 9oz she so attached to me already

Huge congrats! She's just gorgeous!!

mumof23188 · 16/07/2019 11:20

@kittlesticks fingers crossed something happens for you soon. It’s horrible feeling so anxious about the birth. I too am very anxious as expecting a big baby according to the growth scans!

mumof23188 · 16/07/2019 11:20

Congratulations @Helsvamp

kittlesticks · 16/07/2019 11:25

Thank you @mumof23188 it's very hard. During my first birth I was panicking about dying (back to back baby got stuck etc) and this time I worry about the same thing happening. And being stuck for ages, missing my son etc. It's tough.

mumof23188 · 16/07/2019 11:33

@kittlesticks that sounds so tough, sorry to hear you are feeling all those worries again. Have you had any signs? I really do hope you get your natural labour

kittlesticks · 16/07/2019 11:44

I've had two sweeps, both of them resulted in about 12 hours of contractions, enough to keep me awake and make me stop in my tracks but not labour. Midwife has been very positive about my body getting ready etc so I have to hope it'll happen before the weekend. Thanks for replying.

mumof23188 · 16/07/2019 12:24

@kittlesticks fingers crossed for you! Hope it all starts naturally

MyloC · 16/07/2019 13:15

Congratulations @Helsvamp she is absolutely gorgeous. Hope you are recovering well.

I feel like I'm going backwards, having very little discharge the last few days opposed to a lot last week. How is everyone else doing?

wineandcatsandlego · 16/07/2019 13:25

Hi all, just found this thread and thought I'd chuck myself in! Am 41 weeks today, have had 2 attempted sweeps and both unsuccessful and couldn't be performed as I'm 0cm Sad they've booked me for another attempt on Thurs and then an induction on Saturday. I hope we all get to meet our babies soon ladies as I don't think I can cope much longer in this pain and in this heat!

Helsvamp · 16/07/2019 13:27

I didn't get my plug to fall out until I was 9cm dilated . This is baby number 4 for me as I was okay until I had to push which lasted about a hour. I kept saying I can't do it. Scared it would never end. 10.5 hours later baby Madison is here . Longer than my son the labour. Ended up having her in pool after 2nd try in there. Hands on handrails on my knees. I am greatful it is all over . And had only a light tear.
