Tentatively starting a thread for those due in March 2020! I got my BFP yesterday and EDD is 3rd March next year. I got my BFP really early so nervously waiting for the days to go by until I feel a bit more ‘pregnant’. This is number 2 for me. Anyone else out there in the same boat?

Is anyone finding work hard? Il be 8 weeks on Thursday and this week I'm not as sicky but I'm super tired! Yesterday was really tough going.i work in a busy nhs dentist and I'm on my feet all day long running up and down stairs. Today I'm doing 11.5hr shift and I'm dreading it!! it's too much on a normal day let alone with extreme tiredness !!! I worry il cause a miscarriage because I'm too exhausted xxx

hopefulowl · 23/07/2019 08:03

@Jemstar33 @Lemon27 my due date is March 24th, and I'm not planning on telling work until as late as possible - Luckily I'm a teacher so I can get away with most of the first trimester until teaching starts again in September thankfully. Though I assume I'll start to show not long after term begins. Makes the first sets of appointments easier.

I haven't been given a scan date and wondering whether to phone them again to ask when it'll be booked in. I'm worried that if I wait until the 20th August for it to actually be booked, that there won't be anything available.

@Peachie77 I feel like my boobs have been less sore the last 24 hours and it's worrying me too, my symptoms haven't been as strong - but I'm hoping / assuming it just comes in waves.

Honestly no idea how I'm going to get to August 20th!

Jemstar33 · 23/07/2019 08:22

@hopefulowl I don’t actually have to tell my boss until 16 weeks before I plan to leave but I sometimes travel with work and I’ll not want to as much of that now.

I’m in Scotland I don’t know if it’s slightly different up here but the docs gave me a number to call for midwifes they then gave me an appointment for both midwife and scan over the phone. The scan is slightly after 12 weeks though. I was hoping for slightly before

DaniX91 · 23/07/2019 08:29

Morning everyone, haven't been on here for a few days so just trying to catch up! Congratulations to all the new ladies who have joined!
I'm over the moon to be reading positive news from the girls who were having concerns but have been reassured with blood tests and scans 😊.
I'm 6+2 today, EDD 15 March and I have a scan for a week today. I expected to have had more nausea than this by now and my boobs also don't feel as sore, I think we're all in the same worry boat aren't we?!
I just said to my DP the other day, "this is the start of a lifetime of worry. Worrying til the scan, then worrying til the next one, worrying about labour, then worrying the baby is ok when it's sleeping blah blah blah 😂". We're all guna age about 10yrs by March haha.
I am a teaching assistant so lucky enough to have no work until September. When I'm at the scan next Tuesday (it's an NHS one) I'm going to see if they can book my 12 week one for the day before I go back to work then I can tell everyone.
Sorry for the essay 🙈 x

Frillyfarmer · 23/07/2019 08:59

@barnyb would you consider telling work earlier? I had to with DS as I was on long valuation inspections in the howling February storms and a lot of livestock units involved breeding ewes which are a danger to pregnant women. Work were great and altered my working structure to take me off my feet all day.

Jampot36 · 23/07/2019 09:03

I am so jealous of all you ladies who have the summer off! I work quite remotely so hoping to keep it all under wraps til 12 weeks.

Im in the same boat as you @DaniX91 i dont have many symptoms other than sore boobs and a bit emotional but im 5 +2 so a bit behind, in one way you want minimal symptoms but on the otherhand its worrying, we can't win!

I already made the mistake of relaxing too much...im normally a gym bunny and pretty strict with food...let it all go this last week - way too much in hindsight and already put too much weight on so reigning that in and back to the gym tonight!

barnyb · 23/07/2019 09:22

@Frillyfarmer I have told work. I told them weeks ago. Because of my situation with pregnancy they had to know because I'm consultant lead and have more scans and check ups then usual. they are doing a risk assessment at work for me. So I guess il have to say it's too much in that. I just hate saying no or saying I can't do something. Xxx

barnyb · 23/07/2019 09:29

@DaniX91 hello congrats!! :) that's so lucky you are off now! Honestly the worry is insane ! Iv had really bad sickness last few weeks but it's getting better and even though I'm so glad!! I'm also nervous as to why it's going??? I have another scan this Friday and I should 8 weeks and 1 day so fingers crossed it's all fine. And then I can be proof that subsiding symptoms aren't anything to worry about x

DaniX91 · 23/07/2019 09:37

@barnyb thankyou, congratulations to u too! We're mental aren't we, wishing to be sick! Haha.
Aw good luck for your scan 😊.
I've just made my booking appointment with the midwife, got it for 7th August. Apparently if I go to the doctors, I can pick up a pregnancy pack from reception which will explain everything that happens at the midwife appointment.

Jampot36 · 23/07/2019 09:48

@barnyb I'm a couple weeks behind you so not tired yet. My sister said she was absolutely floored from week 6 and was nearly falling asleep at work and one of my friends said week 8 she was exhausted. Neither of them have jobs where they're on their feet all day like you either but i think its quite normal as baby goes through a lot of growth. Do you work know? Would you feel comfortable telling them so they can put something in place to help? Even if its more breaks? Rest up and lots of early nights when you can i think is the main answer. X

avocadoincident · 23/07/2019 10:28

Hello to all the teachers and TA's on here. ( and everyone)
Pros of telling work include them doing a risk assessment. With my last baby that meant I wasn't allowed to work with certain pupils who were violent and unpredictable ( I'm a primary teacher Confused) and also when it got to winter I didn't do any play duties incase it was slippy outside but I did extra first aid shifts inside instead.

BeachYogi · 23/07/2019 10:47

Hello, I'd like to jump on this thread please! I'm 6 weeks + 3. I started another thread when I'd just found out, explaining that my father had died suddenly and then 2 weeks later I found out that I'm pregnant. It's been a very surreal time and I'm not feeling as excited as I imagined I would be considering it's my first pregnancy. The nausea and body changes are getting to me a bit and I'm still grieving for my Dad (his funeral was on Friday).

I am wondering if I'll need to start telling people soon as the nausea is really getting in the way of socialising and I've had to stop working. Has anyone else shared the news with family?

Jampot36 · 23/07/2019 11:54

@BeachYogi so sorry for your loss. Its not surprising you're not feeling excited your emotions will be all over the place with so much going on. I hope you're being easy on yourself?

Weve told a few people but not many...im 5 +2 and no real symptoms yet so didnt need but i wanted to. So my parents and sister and 2 best friends. We'll tell my husbands nan and sister but that will be all. He lost his mam in April so is slightly bittersweet for him also. We won't tell our works or anyone else until 12 week scan unless i get bad symptoms which may force us to say something earlier. X

oksim · 23/07/2019 12:04

@BeachYogi I'm so sorry about you dad. How horrendous for you. Congratulations on your growing baby!!
What I've found going out is no one notices anything! Everyone is so caught up in their own lives they don't pay attention! We told our very close friends so we had help concealing me not drinking as I'm usually a bit of a fish!!

The sickness is crap!! But I've tried these drops and highly recommend them, they are on amazon.
I hope you eventually get to enjoy your pregnancy xxxxx

barnyb · 23/07/2019 13:17

@Jampot36 yes it's really tough going these last couple weeks. The tiredness is so intense it's like I need to go to sleep there and then ! It always kicks in after lunch! but at least I'm not laying on the sofa feeling sick and thinking everything stinks so bad ! 🤢🤢🤢😫. My work do know about me being pregnant. They are doing a risk assessment soon. I told them straight away because luckily I'm quite close with my boss and the owner of the practice. I guess I just need to speak up when it's too much for me xxx

JemmaT12 · 23/07/2019 13:17

Hey 👋🏻

New here. I’m 7 weeks with my fourth 😳 child, not exactly planned, but very much wanted. We had an early scan yesterday after some bleeding and past MC, saw a tiny bean and a heart beat, back next Thursday to be sure everything is going as planned. Looking forward to getting to know some other mums to be!

barnyb · 23/07/2019 13:21

@JemmaT12 congratulations ! What was ur due date they gave you? I'm 7 weeks and 5 days. Due 5th. Have another scan Friday to double check is good xxx

Frillyfarmer · 23/07/2019 14:34

Between the nausea and running around after a toddler since 6.30am I am so so so broken 😩 it's 32 degrees here and I feel as though all I've done all day is run around after DS with sun cream, water and snacks.

barnyb · 23/07/2019 15:08

@Frillyfarmer shhttttttt!!!!!

maybenextmonth · 23/07/2019 16:12

Hi ladies, I'm finally building up the courage to join you all on your journeys having followed you all for the last 3 weeks since I found out I am pregnant. I've been terrified to join as I have had 2 previous MCs, the most recent being in May. This is my third pregnancy.

So, 6+5 today and based on LMP, EDD is 12th March. I have an early scan booked next Thursday as, like everyone here, I just need to know all is progressing as it should. I also have a midwife appointment next Friday.

I think I've had most symptoms but they seem to have settled with exception of being crazy tired and emotional. Almost stormed out of work this morning I was just so full of rage!

Anyway, looking forward to chatting to you all along the way! Smile

Jesskir89 · 23/07/2019 16:42

@maybenextmonth welcome. And yes it's great hearing from people going through the same as you both physically and emotionally. Sorry to hear of your prior loss. This is your time now, this is what I keep saying to myself

lonelyonee · 23/07/2019 18:04

@Peachie77 yes it's my first. No chemicals or anything.
It was my ovulation tests that were getting lighter so I must have ovulated really early!
Got some PG tests left so going to test again tomorrow to make sure then again next week.
Need to change doctors so I'm going to pop down Friday- hopefully I can sort it then for my booking appointment, be one less thing to worry about.
No way! I was on the pill for 12 years. How come you've never been on BC?

How has everyone managed to get around telling work for yours? I really really really don't want to tell them, no doubt I'll get an eye roll or several when I say I have a doctors appointment.

Trying to catch up again ladies... I can't keep up with all of you! Haha 😘

maybenextmonth · 23/07/2019 18:49

Thanks @Jesskir89 , I keep telling myself the same, two lots of bad luck, this has to be the one! How are you feeling?

Jampot36 · 23/07/2019 18:53

@barnyb yeah you do need to tell them when you're struggling but at the same time its hard, i think as women we feel pressure to power on through and it takes time to accept that we need to listen to our bodies x

Jemstar33 · 23/07/2019 19:14

Hi all I’ve just had my first bit of spotting. I’m exactly 5 weeks today. I’m having cramping too which doesn’t feel very ‘light’ hoping it settles soon.
