Yeah my clothes and me just don't work anymore even my maternity stuff has given up haha. Jeans roll down and belly comes out it's just great x

Sparkles1992 · 22/04/2019 23:21

I'm due the 7th, next appointment is the 1st May and I'm hoping to be offered a sweep then to try not to go over due. 38 weeks tomorrow and can't think of having another 4 weeks! I'm quite comfortable but inpatient now, and my ankles have disappeared!

LouB1990xX · 22/04/2019 23:24

@sparkles1992

Can I ask why they’ll offer you a sweep before your overdue? We’re you overdue last time? Ive heard people saying this before they are overdue so I’m curious x

FyEnwiYwLucy · 23/04/2019 06:52

I was offered a sweep 2 days before my due date this time, but this time have adjusted my appointment to be on my due date on Friday. They may do one if asked!? Just really give it to them about how miserable and hot you are 🤣

FyEnwiYwLucy · 23/04/2019 06:52

2 days before my due date LAST TIME. Sorry.

RCC18 · 23/04/2019 08:46

My next appointment is at 39+4 (my 40wk app but they've been ahead of schedule for a few weeks) and I've been told I'll be offered a sweep at that one. Not sure if they do it earlier on your 2nd? I don't think I'm going to have it though, not a great experience last time (mainly because my cervix was pointing backwards) and I ended up being induced the next day so went through a lot of prodding from then onwards, I dont fancy the same. Lots of people i know have found it fine and successful though.

Mikewazowskismrs · 23/04/2019 08:53

Hi all 👋🏼

I’m due 23rd May and finally finish work on Friday - can’t wait!

Quite enjoying the heat so far but I am a lover of the sun!

Baby measuring a few weeks ahead so got another growth scan in a couple weeks then meeting consultant to discuss options.

ftmtobe · 23/04/2019 10:09

I'm due 8th may and been offered a sweep today at my midwife appointment! She said they can be offered from 38 weeks (il be 37+6) to try prevent the need for induction

xJune88 · 23/04/2019 10:11

Can't believe well all have our babies soon 😁 I'm so excited but nerves are kicking in now... No idea what to expect or how I'll cope but going in with an open mind. Had some aches and pains in the last few days, mild period pains but then they disappear, aches in pelvis and alot more discharge which I've read could be a sign... I'm 37+1 but she's measuring 3 weeks ahead so we will see.... x

Sparkles1992 · 23/04/2019 13:41

No @LouB1990xX this is my first! I don't know why tbh but my apts are every two weeks so maybe because she knows my next apt wouldn't be until 41 weeks Hmm I think a lot of it depends on what midwife you have as well as I've heard others say absolutely not until after due date x

RCC18 · 23/04/2019 20:32

@JLB7 I am in the same boat- need to put a few more things in my hospital bag but that all seems too real to have it finished!

Feeling a lot of pressure today, but then baby randomly goes crazy and starts kicking my ribs so I feel like she is popping in and out of being engaged- I read somewhere that that can happen with #2, but not sure it's a good sign for things happening soon!

JLB7 · 23/04/2019 20:48

RCC18 I have now panicked into packing the bag! Currently trying to spring clean the house ( 🤷🏻‍♀️why?!) with swollen feet, and indigestion that feels like my insides are going to fall out my mouth every time I bend over!! 🤦🏻‍♀️
Still nearly there, We can do this ladies! 💪🏻

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 23/04/2019 20:56

Goodness, just popping on to give you lot a wave and a salute; I’m due early June but am OVER being pregnant now as I’m so huge I can barely plus this baby is head butting my cervix every evening for the lolz.

Ow.

PregoBaker · 24/04/2019 14:21

Hi everyone!
I'm due 28th, but got a weird feeling I'll go early.
Though first time mum so, who knows 😂
Finished work on Sunday as I work in a kitchen....could..not..handle ..the...heat 🥵
Baby's bag is packed but haven't done mine yet. How's everyone's mat leave so far?
Good luck everyone!! 😘

Russell19 · 24/04/2019 15:02

Hi @prego

I have that feeling too. Wishful thinking maybe?? Grin I don't finish work till a week on Friday and I'll be 38 weeks, must be mad!

PregoBaker · 24/04/2019 15:15

@Russell19 probably!! 😂 knowing me I'll be 42+ and getting induced 😳
I originally was going to leave at 36 weeks but couldn't handle the heat, hope you last to 38 weeks and have loads more time with your little bundle!
Anti-natal classes tonight! 🙌🏻 xx

LouB1990xX · 25/04/2019 09:54

Oh wow I’m surprised how many of you are getting sweeps. It’s my first so I’ve got no experience with it but i thought they only offered it when you are overdue. Anyways, glad everyone’s doing well, have any may babies arrived yet? Hmm

Russell19 · 25/04/2019 11:12

@Lou I asked my midwife about this and she said with a low risk pregnancy with no issues they start to offer sweeps at 40 weeks or as close to.

Different areas ma be different I guess xx

RCC18 · 25/04/2019 17:27

@LouB1990xX no baby yet but I really hope it's not too much longer. I ate a whole pineapple yesterday after Google convinced me this would kick things off and...nothing. Although she is very active this afternoon and very low that it makes me wince now and again.

How is everyone keeping themselves busy on mat leave?

xJune88 · 25/04/2019 17:42

My stomach was rock solid all night last night and very uncomfortable, seemed to of past when I got up and about. Shes fully engaged and has been for a couple of weeks but today shes having a good wiggle and punching my bladder and pelvis 😬 had a few mild aches and pains but they seem to pass. Hoping my body is gearing up! Started positive birth company digital pack last night, would definitely recommend x

LouB1990xX · 25/04/2019 18:27

@RCC18
I know apparently pineapple is good for softens the cervix. Hopefully it’s not too much longer for you. I’m trying to keep myself busy with nesting!! Cleaning & doing his nursery but must admit I’m worried as I have always worked full time how am I going to cope not working being at home all day 🤔

I’ve got just over a week to go I’m
Feeling nervous I’m planning a water birth hopefullly I can do this with minimal pain relief but I’m
Ruling nothing out. How about you guys? What’s your ideal birth plans? If you don’t mind me asking x

xJune88 · 25/04/2019 18:52

@LouB1990xX I'm planning the same as you water birth with gas and air but if I need more I will have more and get out and have epidural. Going in positive and opened minded but prepared for anything just incase!

RaspberryBubblegum · 25/04/2019 21:58

I'm high risk because of a technicality (you're deemed high risk if you have any medical history, even if it has no bearing on labour and birth 😥) so I'm not allowed water birth as I have to be monitored all the way through the labour. Hoping I can at least sit on a ball or something this time round. Laying in a bed for 13 hours was very boring!

PregoBaker · 29/04/2019 10:38

So, I'm only 36 weeks, but I'm almost positive I had a 'bloody show' last night! I'm only just ready with the hospital bags 😳
Had to go into the maternity unit on Saturday because of reduced movement. Said everything was fine, and now I'm here thinking is 36 weeks too early to go into labour? ( first time mum, paranoid freak 🙈)

xJune88 · 29/04/2019 11:03

I think you can loose your plug at any time even earlier and your body can reproduce it. But even when it goes properly it can be weeks weeks before actual labour starts I'd ring your midwife though just for some advice and see what she says xx
