Totally waddling! How are you feeling about the ‘age gap’. People keep commenting to me about having a big age gap and we’re not particularly bothered by it?!

How long are you planning on working? xx

Sophwalms · 28/08/2018 19:10

@Mummy081212 I know I love the age gap as I think my 5 year old can help and interact more with baby instead of him feeling all my attention is elsewhere. I finish work on the 10th of September as I have 4 weeks annual leave so I can't wait! Xx

@Mummy081212 when do you finish xx

Ahhhh I’m sooooo jealous I think I’m going to try and go to 5th October - bang on 37 weeks. I’m a teacher so don’t have annual leave but do have the ability to work for a few days in July to get the full 6 weeks holiday paid.

Yeah I’m excited about the age gap too. My little boy is already loving helping out - decorating baby’s room, helping wash his clothes etc. He loves being involved!!

Sophwalms · 28/08/2018 19:26

@Mummy081212 gosh hope you'll be ok working till then! I know it's lovely just don't want him to feel pushed out. Do you know what your having xx

Me! I’m due 15th Oct and going on mat leave on 14th sept too. Counting down the days...

Al82 · 28/08/2018 19:54

Ooh please can I join this?
I’m expecting a little girl on the 20th October.
I have a 14 year old son already so your age gaps are nothing compared to that 🙈

I’m finishing work on the 16th Sept, can’t wait as I’ve been so tired this time around!

Heatherbaby · 28/08/2018 20:08

Hi ladies

Thought id join too if that's ok. Im 34 weeks due 6 Oct. It's my second and DD has only just (last weekend) turned 1! So will be a barrel of laughs for me having 2 under 2.

My first delivery and birth was relatively straightforward but far too fresh in my mind.

Happy to share any newborn or labour experiences seeing as its all so fresh x x

Sophwalms · 28/08/2018 20:13

@Al82 oh wow! Bet your excited! I know I'm a lot more tired this time. I think after 5 years I forgot what it was like being pregnant. Last time for me xx

I'm due Oct 25th. I am sort of hoping she'll be a little late and I'll get a Halloween baby! Finishing work on 28th Sept and I'm starting to really long for it. I don't have a physically demanding job but mentally it's very hard work and I'm starting to really lose concentration now. I've recently been given my own office too but it's terrible as it's too easy to drift off now. Good for me but not for my client's cases 😴☺

Al82 · 28/08/2018 21:09

We are all very excited!
I had completely forgotten what it was like to be pregnant though! At least my son is happy for me to take a nap every day 😂
Last one for me too x

Mads123 · 28/08/2018 21:26

Yay a October baby thread thank you OP. I'm due on the 25th with our first and expecting a boy. Last day at work is currently the 20th of September but thinking of moving it as I've honestly lost the will! I have 4 weeks of annual leave so thinking of putting a week or two of maternity as this will probably be the last chance I get to be truly lazy!

Sophwalms · 28/08/2018 21:46

I'm hoping baby makes an early appearance not a late one last time I was overdue and it was horrible.. just nervous about birth so much xx

Heatherbaby · 28/08/2018 22:45

@Sophwalms a boy for me this time! Although I'm pleased i get one of each I must say i was gutted i have sooo much for baby girls thats all brand new! In fact if any ladies need clothes I have so much barely touched and all from the best stores cos I spent a fortune! I'm only able to reuse a few white vests!

Judging from this thread it serms as though we have a lot of little boys coming this OctoberGrin funny cos with DD everyone seemed to be having girls. I'm dreading changing boy nappies eeek!

Heatherbaby · 28/08/2018 22:47

Ah @s9ophwalms I was 10 days overdue with DD so I feel the same. Having done it before doesnt seem to calm the nerves...however, they do say baby no2 comes out much quicker so I'm hoping thats true... if anyone has any experience of this I'd be happy to hear Flowers

Anm4 · 29/08/2018 08:30

@Heatherbaby, I'm expecting baby number #4 little boy but my second labour was 50 minutes, first was 6 hours. Third ELCS & I'm having an induced VBAC this time which i have no experience of but my natural births were both quite fast that with my daughter (2nd baby) i didn't have time to take it all in. I'm apprehensive of the birth experience this time as i have nothing to go on but I'm sure it will be ok. X

Al82 · 29/08/2018 08:42

I’m pleased I’ll have one of each too. @Heatherbaby I’m dreading changing a girls happy esp after so long of not doing any nappies at all! 🙈

SelinaMyers · 29/08/2018 08:50

I’m due on October 17th. Just had six weeks off work for summer (I’m a high school teacher) but back for two weeks before Mat leave. Finishing on the 14th- wanted to stay longer but I work in a different part of the country to where baby will be born and don’t want to risk her arriving in the wrong place!!

Sophwalms · 29/08/2018 12:48

@Anm4 if you had to chose labour would you chose vaginal or elective c section? XX

OP posts:
Anm4 · 29/08/2018 13:07

@Sophwalms having my two natural first then a csection i have chose to have a natural this time as the recovery is so much easier and i had an epiosiotomy with my first two, the whole csection itself was fine but i really struggled after with my two other children x

sparkles212 · 29/08/2018 13:09

@Mads123 - snap! Same due date ☺

Sophwalms · 29/08/2018 13:27

@Anm4 yeah that's my only concern with having a c section the recovery with having my 5 year old xx
