Currently 36weeks and I am so hot I just don't know what to do with myself.

Anyone else feeling this way to?

Vicki Cold shower and wash your hair/ wet hair it will last longer than a wet flannel.

I start it off cool and work the temp lower and lower heaven!

vickifaith · 19/06/2017 19:24

Jumping in now Trytowin!!! Thanks

Uhtred · 19/06/2017 19:39

I'm currently sat in the kids paddling pool eating an ice lolly .... sooo good!

seafoodeatit · 19/06/2017 20:43

36 weeks here too, I've gotten one of those fans you plug into your charging port and that sort of helps a bit, staying in the shade and having a tower fan at home! Out and about is awful for me atm as even when I'm not pregnant I can't handle heat.

Absy · 19/06/2017 22:49

I'm 18 weeks. I'm weirdly ok, but that's because I'm drinking tons of cold drinks, wearing stuff which is loose and cotton and running around in flip flops (even at work). For once I'm grateful that the aircon in the office is ridiculous. What's killing me is the hay fever, and having a toddler who just cannot cope with the heat. Poor kid is sweating like crazy and was up most of last night

CesareBorgiasUnicornMask · 20/06/2017 11:01

I'm 36 weeks and permanently camped in front of a fan. I'm only really moving to refill glasses of water or to go to the local swimming pool which is currently my favourite place in the world. Had an appointment this morning though where the midwife very gently broke the news to me that they want to induce me as soon as I'm 38 weeks, as for some reason my gestational diabetes has gone crazy in the last few days. I think she was expecting me to be upset but tbh I could have kissed her. Only 14 more days of this sweaty hell!

seafoodeatit · 20/06/2017 13:21

@Cesare so envious of you right now! (On the induction the GD, I hope that doesn't get too bad and doesn't cause any problems) I had a very good experience with induction, I hope it goes well for you! I have to do the stupid school run every day so can't escape this heat.

seafoodeatit · 20/06/2017 13:21

*not the GD

Not pregnant, but hate heat, and one of the things that helps me is buying packs of blueberries and freezing them (don't bother with the prefrozen ones - not as nice), then just having a small handful on a saucer every now and then. You can't eat them fast, and one at a time they're like tiny sorbets. In fact, I've just had some, and they have cooled me down a bit.

I'm struggling to get work done and just spent 20 min sitting in a cold bath. Have bought ice lolly moulds so I can make my own hopefully healthier ones.

TriJo · 20/06/2017 20:27

I'm only 6 weeks but dealing with my teething toddler who seems to have inherited the heat tolerance of his Irish mammy while feeling drained and nauseous all the time is pretty grim.

Hannano1990 · 21/06/2017 01:22

Ah man. I couldn't imagine being so heavily pregnant in this weather. Really feeling for you ladies. I'm only 11 weeks and this heat plus raging hormones are killing me. Hope it starts to cool down. Hang in there ladies. You are all troopers.

Anyone know where I can find half naked men in gold shorts to come and feed me grapes and fan me everywhere I go?

Shanster · 21/06/2017 03:14

I had an August last year in Atlanta where it's about 33C every day. Thankfully we have air conditioning at home/office but going to the pool and eating ice lollies made life bearable!!!

CatRash · 21/06/2017 07:20

Going to have to try that @MontyPythonsFlyingFuck!! I do the same with grapes but didn't think about blueberries!

I'm so ready for this heat to be over!!! My feet have doubled in size and I'm on day 10 of a cold and chest infection. Who gets a crapping cold during a heatwave???! (Me - clearly - but still WTF??!!).

Still got 2.5 weeks left at work till maternity leave and am I want to do is wallow in a cold bath all day!!

Gothbaby · 21/06/2017 15:49

I feel like I might die it's so hot but I've stocked the freezer with lots of small lollies!! Got my feet in a tub of cold water and when I'm. Out and about I have this cooling mist spray you can get from savers/super drug/ Poundworld :) life saver xxxxx

It's gone cold and I'm still feckin hot.

DP shut the window last night when I was sleeping and I woke up feeling like I was trapped in what can only be described as a hell fire

Gothbaby · 23/06/2017 10:01

The weather is colder but it's perfect . I'm still warmer than others bit this warm but cool breeze weather is so refreshing xxx
