needing reassurance and nice words desperately Sad
been feeling a little off recently, swelling and light headed so went to the nurse at the GP to get blood pressure took.
blood pressure sky high, protein in urine and sent off the the hospital in an ambulance with blue lights
turns out I have pre eclampsia
obviously if things don't work to try and get it monitored baby will need to come early
I'm only 30 weeks SadSad
absolutely nothing wrong with baby, it's my stupid body betraying me
I hate hospitals, they make me so anxious, blue lighted in the ambulance was awful, so many needles stuck into me
I know babies come early all the time and they are fine, but this just wasn't the plan, I wanted her in there as long as possible Sad
making a real effort not to cry as what difference does it make!

That's brilliant news Willo she is doing so well! So cute too... What a lovely little girl you have! Grin xx

SparkyBlue · 07/06/2017 21:09

I don't know how I missed your post op. Massive congratulations. I had pre eclampsia but I was lucky in that I didn't deliver until almost 35 weeks. Please look after yourself as in my own case things didn't settle down for me after the birth and I was a long time on meds. It was very strange as I felt absolutely fine. Please keep us all posted on how things are.

DancingLedge · 07/06/2017 22:32

So glad she's doing well.
Been holding my breath for you.
She's so lovely.
Hope you're doing OK too

willothewisp17 · 16/06/2017 11:21

I like to keep you all in the loop because you were all so lovely when I really was at the end of my tether 💖
she's still doing really well, I had never heard of kangaroo care before but it is incredible for bonding, and she just loves cuddles!
tonight if she has been stable enough all night and day we may get to give her first bath!
and to give you all a laugh, the day she was born and I was able to get up out of bed after my section I got put in a chair to be wheeled round to neo natal with grandparents to see her for the first time, and my husband was the one wheeling me, and on the way there my catheter bag slipped and fell on the floor and before I could protest my husband ran over it and it burst in the middle of the corridor outside all the rooms with the new mums and dads 😂 so then we had to go back to my room to change it, increasing the impatience of the grandparents who hadn't seen her yet!

Oh my goodness she is absolutely beautiful 💕💕💕

yikesanotherbooboo · 16/06/2017 21:50

She is beautiful ; you look so at ease with each other! In fact she looks positively nonchalant. Congrats to you both and thank you for the updates ; I am looking forward to the next one.

willothewisp17 · 25/06/2017 21:41

another update as we continue on this long journey! 4 weeks old today weighing at four pounds five ounces 😊
she's feeding well, gaining weight well, it's just her oxygen that is the tricky one, she went back onto high flow and hasn't managed to come off!
also, I'm still expressing breast milk for her and getting good amounts, but very soon she's going to start either sucking a bottle or going on the breast. I don't want to breastfeed, I want to continue expressing for however long she needs before she can go onto formula but I'm worried about telling the staff this, as breast is best is a very big thing on the neo natal ward and I don't want to be judged and made feel bad, I know all the benefits of breastfeeding, but before all this happened I never ever intended on it! I've done my best so far and will continue, but it's stressful, I don't know if I can keep up with how much milk she is taking 😰 I'm up all through the night expressing and standing at the fridge with my calculator in my hand working out how much I have and how long it will last her!
sorry for the long one xx

You sound fantastic and she is gorgeous

Abbyll · 25/06/2017 22:36

Hi I had pe with first pregnancy, c section at 32 weeks, do 3lb. She now a very energetic nearly 4 year old! Just to say re breast feeding, you've done the important bit, the first few weeks. Maybe discuss with nurses and have you thought about trying both bottle feeding and just expressing a small amount and not worrying/stressing about it just until willow is a bit bigger. Would take the pressure off but still put your mind at rest a bit too? P.s half of the mums when I was in neo for 6 weeks didn't even try so well done x

willothewisp17 · 30/08/2017 23:37

I'm unsure if anyone will see this, I don't quite know how mumsnet works with old posts but here is a little update picture of my gorgeous girl for you all, the support you all gave me was wonderful and I cannot look at this thread without feeling emotional!

I didn't see this thread the first time around but oh my gosh, Willow is just DIVINE!!

I'm so thrilled for you. I'm 18 weeks into a tough pregnancy (I was diagnosed with antiphospholipid syndrome after losing our baby daughter in pregnancy last year) and this thread has brought me to tears. Reading your updates and the comments from other posters has had such an impact on me, it's almost like for the first time I've suddenly thought "I can do this, I can actually, definitely do this."

willothewisp17 you are amazing. And thank you so much to all the other posters, I can't quite explain it but this is just a magical thread.

willothewisp17 · 31/08/2017 16:44

decemberfairy thank you so much! she born born weighing 2lb 15oz and has just reached the 8lb 2oz mark! a weight I couldn't ever see her reaching! babies are so so strong and resilient, willow is much stronger than me! I will never remove this thread and I will keep it as long as I possibly can because to me it's a precious memory and I love looking back through it all and reading everyone's lovely comments! I hope your pregnancy is as easy as possible for you and remember things always work out fine in the end 💖💖
