More out of curiousity than anything else :-). I am going to get mine next weekend I think. Will be 28 weeks pregnant and have just moved house so thought I would get it while I get everything else!

When I was around 30 weeks with DC 2, didn't do a lot though just put up furniture and the bed, DC is 7 months now and still in our room, we're waiting to move house so never intended for the nursery to be used because of where it is I just wanted it to look nice! we'll be doing up the nursery for DC 3 at around 30 weeks again but this time they'll be going into their room around 6/7 months.

We had ours finished by 30 weeks, even though he isn't in there yet (9weeks) we use the room for feeding and changing and a little bit of play time, just want him to feel comfortable and relaxed in there ready for when he moves into it he will be familiar with it Smile

Brought furniture at 20w as saw a deal and they said delivery time was 8/12 meaning end of JAN.

It arrived quickly at beginning of Dec 😱😱😱😱

Bubs room needed new plugs as only had one. Electrician taken ages :(

But finally done last week. Df has painted walls and ceiling and skirting boards and carpet got laid today

Soooooooo

Means df can start building nursery this weeks so 32w

Have all of bubs clothes and stuff in other spare bedroom

House looks a mess

Painting now, pale yellow, at 18 weeks since shop storing new carpet and it needed doing anyway. So technically I'm just redecorating. Sister is artistic so is going to paint Winnie the Pooh etc for us.

Single bed will go back in, plus cot for after 6 months and changing table as brother and sister in law no longer have space for it. Then new chest of drawers, a chair for feeding and the book shelf that was already there

If this doesn't detain too much can I ask you for your nappy/changing bits and pieces storage ideas? That's if you don't have a dedicated changing table.

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/02/2017 08:53

I have a changing slider thing that fits over cot end for upstairs and nappies and water wipes will go in top drawer of chest of drawers

And a mat downstairs to use on flat surface prob on table /utility part of kitchen so don't need to bend on floor

For our first child we had just moved into the house so we got the bedroom sorted by about 37 weeks. We just painted, put some pictures up and a cot.

I am 29 weeks with my second and we are still clearing the spare room but will get it sorted in the next few weeks. We want to get decorating and stuff done so we don't have to bother when we have a newborn. We don't bother with special nursery furniture but need drawers/ wardrobe so will get some from Ikea.

I'm 37 weeks pregnant with first baby. We only moved in to our new home 2 weeks ago so still settling in a bit. I've only gotten as far as setting the crib up and putting all the baby stuff away. We'll move the crib into our room when the baby is born as it'll be with us for the first few months. When we move baby into the big cot, we'll decorate the baby room properly (repaint, new carpet, etc) I'm just glad we're in the house and all the baby stuff is under one roof, not over my parents' and Gran's Smile

I couldn't think of anything worse than having a four year old in my bed still along with a newborn. I was never a child that slept in my parents bed and I grew up to be full of routine and independence. Plus think parents should definitely have alone time at night. Not a big fan of doing something just because it's easier. Based my whole life on that.

So on that note, I will be decorating my spare room when I'm about 25 weeks. I'm really looking forward to it. For me, it's a right of passage. I can't wait to decorate and pick out furniture and squabble with DP over how to put it together and what goes where.

For me though I still need to decide a few things. Firstly, myself and DP have SOOOO many clothes that our spare room has become a bit of an overfill for it. I have no idea what I'm going to do with everything. We have zero storage space in this flat. Might have to do a seriously big clear out but I have a wardrobe in there purely for coats and now no idea what I'm going to do with those!

Also, my DP has a son from a previous relationship and right now we have a sofa bed in there but it will need to go once the cot goes up as there won't be enough room (we have a huge bookshelf that goes across one wall and I want my baby to love books the way I do - wishful thinking). So I don't know what to do about a bed. Perhaps a blow up mattress?
