Good Evening - I'm Phil, lissielou's husband, following the scan today - Lisa was rushed to hospital, diagnosed with a Ectopic Pregnancy, I have just spoke to the hospital and she is still asleep following the procedure, however as the scan was not conclusive I don't know the extent of the damage as the Dr proposed one of four procedures laparoscopy/laparotomy/salpingectomy or oophotectomy dependent on the attachment of the baby (which was progressing well)the procedures are worse as the list continues. Following a conversation with the nurse she was unable to tell me which procedure they have operated on Lisa.
The last thing she said before I was told to go, was to send this message to her friends on mumsnet.

Both her boys (Noah and me) are desperatly missing there mom and bestfriend

Thanks

Phil

I'm sorry to read of your very sad news. As Tutter has said the Ectopic Pregnancy Trust (and Mumsnet too!) is invaluable for help and support following such a traumatic event \link{http://www.ectopic.org} - sorry, can't get the link to work.

My best wishes to you all.

AitchTwoOh · 08/02/2007 21:25

phil, lissie and family, i'm so sorry to hear that you've lost your pregnancy, it's just wretched. like tutter said, there are quite a few of us here who have lost wee babies this way and we will be here for her. also the Ectopic Pregnancy Trust website is a lifeline.

on a practical note, phil, can i ask you just to listen and talk about what you've lost and be there to hug gently? that's all i wanted.

and savlon make an excellent antiseptic spray that's great for wounds. it's worth spraying then drying with a hairdryer before putting dressings back on.

i'm so very sorry to hear this,
h x

AW Phil have a big virtual ((((hug)))) (It's ok to hug other people's husbands platonically and virtually ) And (((another))) for Noah.

You must be very stressed and it's bloody frustrating when you can't seem to get the info you need out of the nursing staff, but I'm sure you'll feel much better tomorrow when you get a full set of information and Lissie is feeling better as well. Please post again and update if you can and hope you get a good night's sleep. (Reminds me of when I was little an my mum was in hospital having a similar procedure, I was so worried I crept into bed with my Dad and stayed there all night )

chocolatelovehearts · 08/02/2007 22:58

Sending lots of love to you lissie. I have also been through this , i really feel for you right now and was so hoping that everything would work out ok. We are here for you to offer you support through this very difficult time. Get well soon. (chocolatebirdy)x

I am so sorry for both of you and your family. I have had 2 ectopic and its so hard, just listen and talk to each other lots of cuddles. I am sure with each others support you will get through this, the support groups available are also really helpful.
