Good Evening - I'm Phil, lissielou's husband, following the scan today - Lisa was rushed to hospital, diagnosed with a Ectopic Pregnancy, I have just spoke to the hospital and she is still asleep following the procedure, however as the scan was not conclusive I don't know the extent of the damage as the Dr proposed one of four procedures laparoscopy/laparotomy/salpingectomy or oophotectomy dependent on the attachment of the baby (which was progressing well)the procedures are worse as the list continues. Following a conversation with the nurse she was unable to tell me which procedure they have operated on Lisa.
The last thing she said before I was told to go, was to send this message to her friends on mumsnet.

Both her boys (Noah and me) are desperatly missing there mom and bestfriend

Thanks

Phil

Poor Lizzie. What a shame, and a real rollercoaster for both of you.

Hope she is back home with her boys soon. xxx

Tutter · 08/02/2007 19:20

so sorry to hear your sad news. i hope her recovery is a speedy one.

she'll find support here and on the ectopic pregnancy trust website. there are mumsnetters like me who have also suffered ectopic pgs and may be able to offer some help in the days and weeks ahead.

Saturn74 · 08/02/2007 19:20

Thinking of you all.

plummymummy · 08/02/2007 19:20

Oh no. I looked at the pregnancy threads purely to see how Lissie's scan went and I am shocked to hear about this. Hugs going out to you both (and Noah). I had an ectopic last year but didn't need surgery. I hope the surgery went ok. Tell her we are all thinking of her xxx

Carmenere · 08/02/2007 19:22

I don't know Lissie that well but had been hoping for the best for her(and you both of course). I am really sorry to hear this but it is on occasions like this that I thank the lord for science and medicine.
Send her our love.

Oh Phil, I feel so much for both you and Lissie at the moment. I have luckily never had an eptopic pregnancy but like Lisa have lost babies.

Be kind to yourselves in the coming weeks and months and enjoy Noah!

If there is anything I can do please do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected] I am not too far away in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire and will be more than happy to help in any way.

Please give Lisa all our love and take care of yourself too!

Love,

Carol

lissielou · 08/02/2007 20:35

Many thanks for your kind words and offers of support.

I have just spoken to Lisa and they have had to remove one of her fallopian tubes.

She is still very confused, though, I will try and print this thread which will cheer her up a little.

Once again many thanks for the support

Phil

Tutter · 08/02/2007 20:38

again, i'm so sorry. you'll both need time to recover emotionally, and she'll have some physical healing too. did she have keyhole or open surgery do you know?

it may be a bit early for her to be thinking of this, but there's still plenty of chance of conceiving. since my ectopic i've conceived twice - both times i ovulated on my tubeless side

Budababe · 08/02/2007 20:38

Oh no. Was so hoping that it would be good news.

Poor Lissie. And you of course Phil.

We are all here when she needs us.
