Today I've been admitted to hospital and told my baby will need to be delivered in next 24 hours due to poor growth and almost no waters. Baby is only measuring at 1lb 2oz with a less than 50% chance of survival. My husband and I are devastated and terrified. Has anyone been in a similar situation?

Oh that's lovely news! What a huge mountain she's climbed :) Going home together will be such a big thing!

Titchypanda · 07/02/2017 08:55

Saffron, I've not had much in terms of time to process as it was sprung on us yesterday. Luckily yesterday happened to be the day the perinatal MH lady comes to see me, so talked it out with her and managed to stop panicking!

I'm excited for her to be home finally!

Oh titchy what wonderful news! Well done Bea, what a fighter you are! GrinGrinGrinGrin

Bea's homecoming is somewhat delayed. She's back in an incubator with suspected infection. Had to be cannulated 4 times today. The first 2 she ripped out, 3rd failed so a really positional one was put in her foot. I then had to hold her foot in a certain position for an hour in order for antibiotics to go through. She's back on 2 hourly ng tube feeding and struggling to cope on her low flow. We managed to get it from 1 back to 0.5, but has gone back up to 0.75 again. In all likelihood, unless they can get her back down to 0.5, she will be going back down to HDU and back on to high flow. Hopefully she will be able to get back to 0.5.

Oh poor Bea and poor you @titchy, I hope you've got plenty of rl support around you and that like the fighter she is she kicks this soon

OpalIridescence · 09/02/2017 07:13

Aww titchy so sorry that is just really rubbish.

Hoping you have had a peaceful and improving night.

You have all been through so much and if life was fair Bea would be home now.
Really hoping this is a very temporary setback and Bea comes out swinging this morning.

Please take care of yourself as much as you can in hospital.
Thinking of all of you today #TeamBea Bear

RTKangaMummy · 09/02/2017 07:58

Oh crumbs SadSadSad

Poor Bea hopefully the antibiotics will start to work today and that she will manage to get her oxygen levels back again in next few days and get back to bottles again

It is really an emotional rollercoaster isn't it,

{{{{{cyberhugs}}}}} for Titchy, TitchyDaddy and Bea and your whole family xxx

GhostsForge · 09/02/2017 08:07

Very much hope Bea's feeling stronger soon and that you and her dad are doing as ok as possible too x

Titchypanda · 09/02/2017 15:26

She's been a little better today. Her oxygen is between 0.5&0.75. She kicked her cannula out, so now they have decided to oral antibiotics. She's still in scbu. Feeds are now 3 hourly. We are trying bottles but she isn't taking much, so they're not forcing.

Oh Titchy, so sorry to read this. Good that Bea's doing better today, hopefully this is just a tiny little setback.

I've been following the story of premature twins on Facebook, the family are friends of a friend, and they've been through similar with one of their babies. One has been home a while whilst the other has had a real fight but, thankfully, he's now joined his brother after something like 7 months in hospital.

Take care of yourself too Flowers

saffronwblue · 10/02/2017 00:43
