Stretch Mark Survey

Hello, I've seen many threads discussing stretch marks and the creams and lotions people use. Since I was wondering whether to bother spending my Christmas Space NK vouchers on BioOil or similar; Mr TDOC kindly helped me design an internet survey.
I'm not doing this for any purposes other than my own selfish ones!
When I have enough responses, I'll collate the data and post it here, so we can all see the results.
The survey is aimed at people who have been pregnant, whether you used any stretch mark creams or not. It's only 4 questions and will take about 90 seconds to complete.
Take the survey here

no stretch marks and used oil but guess the using of oil (olive and some German brand called Freioel) had not much to do with it. Guess it's more genetic if you get them or not..?

done - no stretch marks and I didn't use anything at all... and I am very very pale so supposedly more likely to get them.

DimpledThighs · 13/12/2006 21:14

done..! Got them with dd and now at 33 weeks am starting to get them again... Depress me slightly esp when they appear around the tops of my legs at the back towards my bum .

My stretchmarks are awful, I understand that it is an inherited thing (usually?!?) and can't really be prevented. Yesterday my dd (3) spotted a particularly hideous one as I was getting dressed and asked what it was. I explained briefly, and she said, "I'll pull your top round, Mummy, so that no-one can see it as it's not very nice"!!!!!!! I wasn't sure whether to laugh or cry........

Rochwen · 14/12/2006 20:56

Done.

I do believe they are hereditary. My mum had none and I didn't get any either. I guess it's just luck. However, I would rather have stretchmarks all over my body than still being stuck with SPD 18 months after delivery. Unfortunately we can't choose our afflictions.

I have stretchmarks on my bum and top of thighs from adolescence (which my mum told me were from being an idle teenager and hogging the fire )I was a sporty size 6-8 til became an idle and more affluent 30 something 12-14.
No stretchmarks during pregnancy and neither did my sister . Mum did though.
The creams are an expensive con ladies!

Done. Have some from when I sprouted hips when I was 16 but no new ones in pregnancy. I was told it was another of those things where you were lilely to be the same as your mother, which proved true for me.
