I'm 23wks and REALLY missing riding my horse. Havent ridden since I got the bfp. Horse is a bit unpredictable so thought it best not to risk it. But with the arrival of spring its really bothering me.

Also missing jeans. Need to get some maternity ones.

I miss having lovely smallish perky boobs, they were my favourite feature before. To the lovely poster who shared the link about runny eggs - you have my eternal gratitude! Flowers

MamainMilan · 08/04/2015 14:51

I really missed Champagne/prosecco on a warm evening. I found a sparkling light South African Rose at only 5% alcohol and diluted it with sparkling water. I drank it chilled out of a Champagne flute and it really hit the spot.

And sleeping on my tummy, but couldn't get round that one...

newbian · 08/04/2015 15:21

Thanks HazleNutt but just moved abroad from the UK to a country with far less stringent food standards. The doctor told me a firm no on sushi already.

geekymommy · 08/04/2015 15:37

Different countries do have different food standards, and therefore different recommendations on what is safe during pregnancy.

I think cultural prejudice rears its ugly head here, too, though. I suspect (admittedly, on no evidence) that "foreign" food is more likely to get a no than food that is more commonly eaten in a given country. I'd be interested in seeing the Japanese government's recommendations on sushi, for example. (I would bet such recommendations are in Japanese, though, so I'm out of luck because I can't speak or read Japanese)

LorelaiVictoriaGilmore · 08/04/2015 15:38

Cigarettes . . . I miss them so much. And the really sad thing is that I can't even go back to them once I've had the baby . . . Apparently they're bad for you or something... I'm going to start smoking again once I'm really old and my health is failing anyway. Only 50 or so years to wait...(I hope!)

RabidFairy · 08/04/2015 17:56

Sleeping.
Sleeping on my belly.
Sex.
Rare steak.
Being healthy. I have got my second horrible cold within a few months and I feel rotten.

This is DC3 and she was not planned, so I do feel each loss all the more for that! I did my time with DCs 1 and 2! Grin

MrsDumbledore · 08/04/2015 18:56

WINE
Runny egg
Being horizontal without heartburn
Coughing and sneezing without being concerned I might wet myself!
Since being diagnosed with gestational diabetes a month ago- large slices of cake and bars chocolate bars.
Since my spd kicked in - rolling over in bed without pain.

Can you tell I do pregnancy really well? Hmm

MrsDumbledore · 08/04/2015 18:57

Oh, and having ankles!

OrdinaryGirl · 08/04/2015 19:48

Loving this thread and not even pg - hope okay to comment.
When I was upduffed I missed Botox and wine and St Agur, in that order. I made my mum bring St. Agur and crusty bread into the hospital when I had DS. Just, BLISS.
(Just because someone mentioned it upthread, I'm going to be a big old dragging anchor of bore, and mention that pasteurisation in itself doesn't make cheese safe - here's a decent link explaining:
www.madeformums.com/pregnancy/is-pasteurised-cheese-safe-in-pregnancy/29565.html
I ate Brie cooked under the grill until bubbling. Apparently that's fine. DS is shouty and cheese-obsessed but otherwise fine.)
All the best to you lot - wishing you wonderful pregnancies and joyous returns to wine afterwards. Grin

plonkie · 08/04/2015 19:54

Quite simply, getting pissed. The taste of it, the enjoyment of it, the giggles, everything! Fickle but true.

stubbornstains · 08/04/2015 19:58

Having a sauna. Going for long walks (it's an effort dragging myself round Sainsbury's at the moment). Drinking FUCKLOADS of booze....

Sparrowlegs248 · 08/04/2015 20:59

Oh yes, a spa day would be bliss especially as we drink plenty of wine with lunch

Oh how I miss wine.

EEvans · 08/04/2015 21:25

Cheeses!! All the good cheeses!!!!

MissTwister · 08/04/2015 21:31

As its been warm and sunny I keep passing people drinking Aperol Spritzs and prosecco outside in the sun. And I hate them

stubbornstains · 08/04/2015 21:45

Are Aperol Spritzes a thing in the UK now misstwister? Or are you in the Veneto? Envy

3rdbump · 08/04/2015 21:47

Sleeping comfortable, riding my horses also, presecco, night out!!!

sianihedgehog · 08/04/2015 22:55

geekymommy I think you are absolutely correct about "foreign" food. Unconscious prejudice at play, I suspect.

newbian · 09/04/2015 02:48

geekymommy DH has been to Japan for work and says the fish used for sushi there is of exceptionally high quality. The stuff you get in a convenience store there beats what fancy Japanese restaurants in Europe offer. So hard to compare what women in Japan can eat to those of us elsewhere.

In my case I'm in Asia so I don't think it's anti-foreign food sentiment that made my doctor put sushi on the banned food list. There's all sorts of stuff I can't eat from the local cuisine either.

Emerald33 · 09/04/2015 09:57

Horseriding (my anniversary present was jousting lessons, that I had to forsake!)
The endless coffee I used to drink at work
The occasional mojito

StubbornStains - am in London where they're very much a thing now. I first had one in Venice about 2 years ago and by last summer everyone was drinking them here!

KittyVonCatsington · 09/04/2015 14:57

I miss going for a decent bowel movement without taking daily Lactulose, pain, bleeding and piles-only a few more weeks till I can relax on the bog Grin

Squidge14 · 09/04/2015 16:57

Another one really missing riding! I stopped about 18 weeks, only have 2 weeks left until due date so hopefully not long until I'm back on board, just in time for the summer season Grin my boy is very good to ride but big at 17.1 and still only young, at the end of the day they are animals with their own mind it's not worth the risk...very hard though!

Other than that I miss sleeping comfortably...or at all!

rubyred84 · 09/04/2015 17:07

Brie.....brie brie brie......all melted and oozy in one of those warm 'finish in the oven' baguettes with some crispy bacon........I might even take some in my hospital bag!!!

stubbornstains · 10/04/2015 13:41

You hipster you misstwister! I did recently have cause to visit a cutting-edge bar in Shoreditch on a trip to the Big Smoke, but only stayed long enough to hyperventilate at paying £2.50 for my half of ale, before returning to my rural time warp.....Grin
