If your first baby was late, was your second late too?

I'm 37 weeks and getting impatient! My ds was born at 40+12 so I'm thinking I will probably be overdue again.

At my last appt baby was head down but not engaged, I think it mives between head down and transverse though going by movement. I don't think I've felt aby braxton hicks, no show etc.

Am I right in thinking this baby is likely to be late too? what was your experience?

Nope.

DC1 came at 42+5 after looooong induction.
DC2 came at 37+5

First was over a week late, second 2 weeks early!

Dc1 40+12
Dc2 40+1

Hope you don't have to wait as long this time.

Mine were both induced at 40+14. I think I must just cook babies longer!

Nope, DD1 40+10 induced, emcs failure to progress.

DC2 T+10 just in time to avoid induction and after several sweeps!

40+5 and then 41+2... Gah!

Dd1 41 weeks
Dd2 39+2. Was in denial about being in labour as I was sure it she would be late too! and i wanted to eat the lovely m&s dinner I had bought first

10 days late with both dc

Dd was 10 days late, induction followed by emcs.
Ds was 10 days early - I hadn't even packed my bag! Can clearly remember dithering around about what I needed to pack whilst periodically being sick in a bucket - lovely! My midwife was mortified when she came to visit me at home, said what with it being your second baby, I didn't think I needed to remind you to pack your bag!! I said I'd figured I had another 3 weeks! Have you packed your bag OP? Lol! Good luck!

Looks about 50/50 then. Although reassured by all the people who went earlier with their second.

Come on baby!! I think I'll be happy with anything before 41 weeks (ask me again in a fortnight! ).

My bag is packed and ready!

DS1 three days late. I thought he would be later as my mum had to be induced with two of us and my sister's were all very late.

Gosh amothersplace that certainly is late. Had you refused an induction? What weight was baby?

DC1 was 2 weeks late
DC2 was 2.5 weeks early
DC3 was on due date

I was also expecting DC2 to go over and was totally unprepared when she made an early appearance.

Dc2- I was induced at 40+4 so I don't know when he actually intended to come out!

Yes both 11 days late same weight too.

DC1 - 12 days late

Yep. 40+11 with DC1 (induced at 40+10) and 40+7 with DC2.

I knew I'd be late with them both but it was so much easier second time round!

First was 10 days overdue. (Induced)

Second was 8 days overdue.

Pregnant again now, haven't even considered that it might be early. Perhaps I should. Although, I have started a hospital bag!
