Have discovered that the Graco pushchair the girl showed us in Mothercare on another website and in a much nicer colour, I know I'm being silly, so I'm still thinking about it. Going to a baby shop in town tomorrow to see a Britax one as well. But if we like the Britax one I will order off the website as it's cheaper there than in the shop we are going to. There are only 2 shops in my city that sell baby equipment, big stuff like cot, pram etc and they are both independant so charge a fortune. Also there is another Graco travel system that i was looking at online and this morning I saw a mum at the school gates with one, will have to look out for her again so I can check out the pushchair, lol

Bozza my dd was Breech at 31 weeks but had turned by the time I went back for my next appointment. No doubt this one will turn as well. I'm more aware this time of what position the baby is lying in with relation to the kicks. Dd thinks it's great to feel the baby moving around she says it tickles her hand, wish it felt tickley to me, lol

Hi
Bozza thats a really nice name. I find myself looking at all the nemes on the tv credits for inspiration. I have a list going and have decided that when the baby comes out ill have to go through the list and see which name it looks like.

Does anyone know at what weeks the baby tends to move into a head down position??

Hello I'm a new person due may 7th ish and just want at this stage to pop in and say hi... Am having a v. pleasant time being pregnant for first time, in fact having opposite syndrome to twiglett just enjoying the weird state but finding it hard to relate to the baby at the end bit... as far as I'm concerned it will just stay as a jumpy feeling thing forever. Better take a reality check soon no? (we have however bought a second hand bebecar 3 in 1 pram so can't be that dippy about the actuality of it)

libb · 18/02/2004 21:55

Hi Spots,

Welcome along - we're due around the same time, I'm the 9th. I'm also (like you and Twiglett) struggling with the concept of actual baby but have managed to buy the basics so I guess I must be going along with the idea without realising!

Baby getting very bolshy these days - must take after his dad! We're going to have to have a chat before long! baby that is, I gave up trying with DP ages ago! Love him though I do.

Bozza · 19/02/2004 10:42

Hi Spots - glad you're enjoying your pregnancy. I think this is my bit that I'm enjoying most so far this time. Had a close to fainting episode in Matalan yesterday and will insist on overdoing things so that I'm tired and achy but apart from that feel quite good and positive.

Quick note to Twiglett. Re - birthday cakes. You made the right decision. Made cake with DS and then decorated it together with dolly mixture, jelly beans etc. Got it out last night so DH would remember to take to nursery this morning and went to hang washing on airer. In the meantime DS climbed into booster seat and managed to topple it off work top onto floor. Cue - loads of choc flakes all over floor and a hastily repaired cake going to nursery today. Have to make another for Sunday's party yet.....

Can someone tell me what lol means??? have been racking my addled brains trying to work it out.

Libb, I sigh wistfully at the idea of a bolshy baby. This one is very sweetly calm and sometimes I spend a day worrying that it's ok in there. The odd burst of violence might be rather reassuring.

Spots, don't tell me about addled brains! I forgot my bank pin number last week - I've only had the same one for 16 years.

I think someone has also pumped my tummy up during the night . . . .

spots · 22/02/2004 18:40

AAaaaaaaaaaaah! would not have guessed, no need to kick self, thanks twiglett. sorry you prob. were hoping I was egypt with an update on her world, wouldn't mind knowing myself after re reading beginning of this thread.

Hi all, just came back from Jamaica - mon! Loooooong flight and am sooo knackered. Puffy ankles now like elephants and i wore my flight socks. Also am v forgetful, like realising at the departure gate that i had left my maternity notes in hotel room!! Have had to fight to find tel numbers and try and arrange for them to be sent to me. nightmare.

Scan was great! She concentrated on baby's face the whole time as we didnt want to know what the sex was, however, does look v boyish! It was yawning and sticking its tongue out and scratching its head. the whole time it had its right arm over its head, just like dh sleeps!! Have a 20 minute video of the whole thing. really was amazing. i cant believe i have seen my baby's face, eyes nose, nostrils!, mouth, tongue, even that little dented bit between the nose and lips. when it yawned you could see right into its mouth and the inside of its cheeks. wish i could post an mpeg or something for you, but not from a video. will have to see about getting the pics scanned so you can see a jpeg! my i sound like a comp whizz!
right off to warm by a radiator.
brrrrrrrrrrr byexxxxxx

I'm here! 28 weeks today... getting a bit scary now. Must say I'm very relieved by the 2nd labour being easier thread at the moment - it's suddenly becoming rather more real!

Feeling very uncomfortable (no... almost painful) at the top of my left leg (groin side) when I walk/stand. Assume this is the bones/supporting tissues softening? Not very comfortable either way. Getting lots of cramps in my legs at nighttime which isn't condusive to well-rested sleep either

Bozza · 29/02/2004 15:32

And me, 29 weeks today. Just recently seem to have got much huger and out of breath all the time and feeling faint some of the time. But apart from that...

Hope all is still OK with everyone else.

34 pound for the baby to grow out of it within 2 months after its thrown up on it of course!! I didnt buy a outfit because it was 20 pound, now I feel mean and tight.
Sorry about the fact that I cant seem to do the pound symbol, all the keys on my keyboard are mixed up and I cant find where the pound sign is.

28 weeks and 2 days pregnany hoorrrrayyyyy. 10 weeks left in work, even more hoorrrayyy

libb · 29/02/2004 18:22

I'm still here too - I was 30 weeks yesterday. Haven't said much as there isn't a great deal happening. I am a bit perturbed by a couple of friends who both think I don't have much of a bump - I think I do, at least it feels big to me! Either I was chunkier than I thought to start with or my feeling like a heffalump is in my head!

Still feeling a bit disassociated with the whole bump being a baby thing - you'd think the internal karate chops would help! I haven't even thought about labour etc. - I really need to get a grip!

Glad you are all well, xxx

GeorginaA · 29/02/2004 18:35

Is anyone else slightly freaked out that there's been several babies born in the March thread? I mean, there's only the April thread between them and us... it suddenly feels an awful lot more immediate

Linnet · 29/02/2004 23:11

I'm still here, 29 weeks and 4 days. Get my monthy blood test this week, luckily will only be another 2 to get after this one. Get check up with the DR at 31 weeks and got to go see Grumpy Midwife at 34 weeks. So I've plenty of things to be planning ahead to.

Does anyone know when the parentcraft classes start? I can't remember how far along I was last time. The midwife did ask me if I wanted to go to them when I went in for my booking in appointment but I said No. Realised afterwards that I should have said yes to the Labour ward tour visit. Might give the midwife a phone.

Was just remarking to Dh tonight that we should really start buying some things now. Only have a cot, sheets, a blanket and some sleepsuits, lol Better look out that list of things I'd need.
Oh and I've got to get started on my birthplan. Midwife said she'd go over it with me at 34 weeks, already written one out but need to type it up so that it doesn't seem so full of demands if you know what I mean.

Oh and I finish work 8 weeks this coming Friday, Yipee, Not that I'm counting the weeks or anything
