Best of luck to you too, snowbird! It'd be a bit freaky if both our babes were born within the same hour, wouldn't it?!

Egypt · 09/05/2004 13:54

oo, good luck snowbird and georgina. very excited for you. waiting for you too, libb, vivat and spots.

had a very good night's sleep last night. not even a twinge. i guess all that hype last night was in my mind? i couldnt believe it when the mw said that the twinges i was having meant that i would go into labour in a day or two. she told me to sleep as best as i could with paracetamol, but would prob be kept awake all night because of aches.....but i slept like a baby til 10am and had nothing!!!!! feel absolutely normal and not a trickle in sight!

ho hum....bored. well, at least we had a practise run to the hosp. clear roads = 20 minutes.

GeorginaA · 09/05/2004 14:07

Plus, I bet you got your hospital bag packed

I've actually finished packing mine, yay! Okay, so there's a few bits I can't put in there until the morning, but in general, I'm ready to go.

I have also read the sunday paper, written all my ds' birthday thank you notes and eaten a roast turkey dinner followed by toffee haagen dazs... all is well with the world.

Not sure what to do with the rest of the afternoon though. The lawn needs mowing but I can't be arsed. There's lots of chores I "ought" to do but don't "need" to do before tomorrow, so I'll probably ignore them. Decisions... decisions...

spots · 09/05/2004 15:21

Egypt if there's one place last night 's activities were NOT it's in your mind... glad you got a good kip, nice to have a bit of progress. One step at a time eh?

Georgina and Snowbird have been thinking of all the things you won't have to suffer after tomorrow, you lucky gaviscon free people. The levels of curry and pineapple on this thread are reaching epidemic proportions... you might want to count yourself well out of that one too (in a you can have too much of a good thing sort of a way)(she says after lunch of curry and pineapple, tea of curry and pineapple... well, it's always better the second day isn't it?)

spots · 09/05/2004 15:48

But egypt you know it prob. WAS your waters, someone in my yoga class had their waters break a WEEK before she went into labour... so don't go telling yourself it was a false alarm. I'm still excited on your behalf!

vivat · 09/05/2004 19:14

Good luck Georgina and Snowbird - hope it all goes well tomorrow

Judd · 09/05/2004 20:02

Hello, I'm still here too - due date is Tuesday and have got a hospital appointment that morning to check that all is OK. DD is being taken to PIL on Tuesday evening, providing nothing has happened before then. We've got a few prezzies for her from the baby and she is very excited about all the burping and pooing that I've assured her will happen!!
I've been feeding happily on pineapple and curry for the last week or so, but couldn't be bothered tracking down any more raspberry leaf tea after I finished my supplies. Bag is almost packed, GF is read, hospital snacks for DH have been bought and half eaten! It's just the pesky waiting now.
Hope tomorrow goes really well for you both, Georgina and Snowbird, and I will look out for your exciting news on the board.

Bozza · 09/05/2004 20:30

Good luck Georgina and Snowbird. Hope to have you both reporting back soon.

Egypt sorry it was a false alarm but maybe it suggests things are starting to move.

Been out this afternoon to somewhere called Lotherton House near Leeds. It had a bird garden and a deer park and we took the football for DS so was quite a pleasant change of scenery. My MIL wants DS to go stay next weekend just in case - I'm due next Sunday - but he has a birthday party on Sunday morning so I don't think there is any point. What are the chances of it happening next Saturday in particular. I think DH just thinks I'm being awkward but I don't want to send him, then he comes back and has to go straight away again. DH said I could have some time on my own (as he will be playing golf) but DS is in nursery 3 full days (ie 8 - 5) so I've got plenty of time on my own. I'm just thinking along the lines of, that might be my last day with DS - just the two of us which is a bit soppy I know, but I think I'm entitled at the moment. Still might all be academic if I get some action this week.

Egypt · 09/05/2004 21:03

Bozza, i think you are being totally reasonable in your thinking. of course you want the last few days to spend with your ds. it'll be a while before that happens again. Let's hope you have some action this week. Chances are it won't happen on your due date anyway. Hope you manage to get things sorted. Can you not say to MIL, 'if it's ok with you, i'd like to have the last few days with ds, that i can grab'. would she be ok?

still no action here - bouncing on me ball, drinking pineapple juice (is that the same?) and raspberry tea. hmph

spots · 09/05/2004 21:13

I'd be the same bozza, don't think you're being soppy at all.

Judd good tactics with the pressies... My brother gave me a Sindy horse when he was born; how he found somewhere to store it while he was waiting to come out has always been a mystery to me but hell, I've liked him ever since anyway.

Wonder if our baby is secreting gifts inside me to bribe us to like him/her? It probably knows by now that I'd really like a beach bag, and DH a computer programme to make bleepy music with. (That would account for the sort of squareish lumpy feeling... the box that is).

Come on baby! We want our presents!

BEST OF BEST OF LUCK georgina and snowbird. Will be hoping for speedy gel for you and speedy news for us. Excited? Oh yes I am. big hugs and kisses, sleep well tonight.xxxx

redfiasco · 09/05/2004 21:33

Good luck everyone!!
Am glad to know that Im not the only impatient pregnant mum out there!! Tried the curry and sex method, not at the same time!! As DDs were at my mums for the night, however, passion was slightly curtailed when I decided I could bear the heartburn no longer, and we made a mad dash to the 24 hour Tesco`s!! Have had backache and dull period pain all weekend. Somethings got to happen soon!!

Bozza · 09/05/2004 21:41

Thats partly why I've yet to bother with the sex redfiasco. Was just asking DH how far overdue I'd go before we put in the effort. Done a bit of nipple tweaking to compensate.

Spots LOL at the presents from your baby. Would suggest a heavy hint to your DP also though....

Don't worry I will sort next w/e out. MIL is just trying to be helpful but will explain. Plus also DH forgot about the birthday party when he was on the phone to her - so not entirely her fault. Think it will probably be better for DS to go when baby is 2/3 weeks old, the novelty has worn off and he can go be spoilt and no 1 priority with Grandma and Grandad.

Not heard from Linnet for a while I noticed. Wonder if there might have been some action there.

Judd · 09/05/2004 22:12

I'm embracing the food options and ignoring the sex as well! Could have a crack at the nipples though, if only because DH is in charge of TV viewing and so far he has sat through Top Gear, Thatcher documentary and has just started Falklands documentary....
On a more serious note, did anybody else suffer with PND after an earlier pregnancy? Mine kicked in almost straight away and I took ADs for the next 9 months. Having said that, DD was a winter baby and I do think that made a difference. I feel completely different (ie. better ) emotionally this time round and so am hoping to avoid it.

Linnet · 09/05/2004 22:22

No, sadly I'm still here.

First due date(not hospital date) going by LMP was last week and passed without so much as a niggle. Have spent all week with dh sorting out the house though. It's nice not going to work and being able to tidy and declutter and do proper dusting etc with dd out of the way at school. Only problem is this nice weather that we keep getting.

2nd due date going by MY dates was yesterday. My friend really wanted me to have the baby yesterday as that is also her sons birthday so she was convinced that it would happen but didn't.

On Friday night though dd had rainbows and I walked about for an hour waiting on her to finish, through town and back again not enough time to go home and back you see. Anyway on Friday night I did have some contractions mainly in my back but they were obviously Braxton Hicks as I took some paracetamols and had some raspberry leaf tea as well but it all went away after an hour Was probably more to do with the fact that I had been out cutting down the roses during the afternoon so that was probably what led to my back ache. I've started taking Raspberry leaf tablets now as the tea I've got is only 50% and I don't think I'd handle the full 100% tea I've heard it's a bit yuck. So tablets it is when I remember to take them.

Today I've been really really grumpy and snappy with dd, feel really bad about that but wondering if it's maybe a sign. I remember being very grumpy and snappy the day that I went into labour with dd so you never know. Plus tomorrow is the 10th... my birthday is the 10th not May though a different month and my brothers birthday is also on the 10th of another month. Plus dd was also nearly born on the 10th but hung on until just into the 11th of her birthday month so you never know, lol

Hospital date is the 13th which is Thursday so we'll just have to wait and see. Going to the GP on Wednesday for my check up hoping I won't make it there but I guess time will tell. Haven't tried curry yet had a piece of tinned pineapple earlier on though as dd had wanted us to buy a whole pineapple but we weren't sure if they were ripe or not so we bought tinned. I'm not keen on pineapple at all but thought I might have a bit, nothing happening so far though, lol.

I'm really fed up, have ran out of clothes to wear and tonight I kept getting that numb leg thing again so maybe it means something will happen soon but who knows.

Anyway enough about me.

Big Congratulations to Prufrock on the arrival of your ds, I don't think I posted on your birth thread, sorry.

Also Big Congratulations to Twiglett and the arrival of your dd.

Good Luck to Georgina for tomorrow. And Good luck to Snowbird.

And Egypt sorry it was a false alarm but you never know it could be anytime soon now.

Going to go and have some dinner now and hopefully it won't be long before we all have our babies in our arms.

Love
Linnet xx

spots · 10/05/2004 06:22

Hmmmm, another early start for me this morning. I get bored lying in bed with a big sleeping dh next to me and a little sleeping d? inside me, feels rather odd and if I get up the baby gets up too.

Judd interesting point about the PND risk... I thought the hospital were quite rigorous in this respect, checking everyone's history out and playing up the support card. Sorry to hear you suffered last time, it sounds foul. Did pills help? did it take long to get diagnosis? was there good support when it came to the crunch?Forewarned is forearmed I reckon, and as you say everything so different this time around...

GeorginaA · 10/05/2004 07:14

Good start... phoned in at 7am like I was asked to, and they're too busy for me yet... have to phone again at 9am!

spots · 10/05/2004 07:18

Oh boo G. how dull. Hope you still have some toffee haagen daas left.

GeorginaA · 10/05/2004 07:24

laugh... good plan.

bah, I could have had a lie in! Instead I'm wide awake and wondering what to do with myself...

prufrock · 10/05/2004 08:30

But it's better to be hanging around at home than in hospital.
Good luck for later - I will be sending positive "get out of there quickly" vibes in a generally northwards direction for you and snowbird.

libb · 10/05/2004 09:03

Good luck GeorginaA and Snowbird, you lucky things! At least you know you're on the home run now. This time tomorrow all your waiting will be over - providing they are not too busy!

Well, I'm still here - we all obviously have the most stubborn babies around, perhaps it has something to do with their starsigns! (or maybe not)

GeorginaA · 10/05/2004 09:07

Brrrr Brrrr

"Hello, Delivery Suite"
"I'm GeorginaA, I'm due for an induction today"
"Ah yes, you called earlier, well we're still a bit busy. Why are we inducing you again?"
"Obstetric Cholestasis"
"Oh, we'd better see you then. We have a few side rooms free... come on in but bring a book."

gulp

Later girls Have fun without me...

libb · 10/05/2004 09:12
