Oh Spots sorry that you are feeling so rough.
We had an Asda curry last night and I've bought the ingredients to make a Thai chicken and pineapple (see another thing thats supposed to encourage labour) curry tonight if I can be bothered.

GeorginaA · 08/05/2004 11:05

Aw spots. If I was trying to think of something more uncomfortable than being 9 months pregnant, it would be 9 months pregnant with a cold Hope you feel better very soon.

(I do use asterisks a lot don't I! grin)

spots · 08/05/2004 11:24

bozza I agree that is funny (and in the same way that serving suggestions on cereal boxes are funny)
am not knocking the curry and pineapple; we had curry last night and a p/apple is ripening on windowsill as I write!

thank you both for feeling sorry for me, xxx no germs on cyber kisses!

Egypt · 08/05/2004 11:32

yes movements slowed down. lots of bh's and heels sticking out painfully - ( georgina)
had curry last night, to no avail. havent gone the pineapple route yet, but may just go and make a raspberry leaf tea - yum............ugh

libb · 08/05/2004 12:17

Morning, still here then everybody? My movements have gone down a lot too - it scared me a bit this morning I must admit because I could feel him but he wasn't responding! Seems to be a bit perkier now, I don't get kicks as such anymore - just a feeling rather like having a bowling ball resting in my pelvis! Plus some sharp pains like someone tugging on my ovaries, are those Braxton Hicks? I also feel achy like I've ridden a bike for the first time in years . . . apart from all that I feel fine!

Just wish people would let us phone them instead of going into a panic! Mum actually phoned the hospital last night because I didn't answer my mobile whilst shopping - although to her defence she had a mobile number she didn't recognise and thought it may have been DP.

I haven't tried any remedies yet - although DP did wave a pineapple at me in front of half of Sainsburys last night, and then grumbled when we got all the shopping without my waters breaking . . . free nappies are over rated!

I am really rambling today, sorry about that! Glad we are all still hanging in there though . . .

Bozza · 08/05/2004 13:37

Libb for me Braxton Hicks are like my entire abdomen (quite a large area as you can imagine...) goes hard - like really solid. Seem to happen everytime I stand up from sitting and at other times too. Have some other pains low down sometimes which I hold the baby responsible for.

Actually wish someone would phone me - I am so bored. My SIL who is 16 weeks pg phoned the other night and I rambled on for ages. DH has gone playing golf and DS has decided not to have a nap (so is sitting on his bed reading). Told DH he has to think of something to entertain me tomorrow and take me somewhere. He took DS out this morning to buy a present for the baby - its a soft duck attached to a rattle and DS keeps plonking it on my stomach.

Egypt · 08/05/2004 13:47

bless your ds bozza! glad i'm not the only one who's dh goes to play golf - like every weekend - mostly sat and sun!! although in his defence, i was astounded when his mate phoned this morning for a game, and dh said 'no, too many jobs to do around the house!!' but he then spend the rest of the morning on the net lookig for motorbikes - hmmmm. now he's gone out, whilst i was sleeping. again

braxton hicks are like bozza says libb. really hard stomach and kind of has a weird sensation too, like a light feeling, i don't know....i can't describe it. my stomach goes a strange shape when it happens. my bell button goes right in like a bowl and my stomach either side of it sticks out like hills!!!!

Bozza · 08/05/2004 13:52

Well Egypt my Braxton Hicks are nowhere near as interesting as yours I'm afraid.
Don't mind DH going to play golf but wish he would come up with some idea to take me out and treat me tomorrow. He's never one for ideas for family outings but I really want him to take us out as am feeling a bit cooped up.

Egypt · 08/05/2004 14:01

its a shame the weather's rubbish......well it is here. thinking about painting the bathroom but oh, no...cant be bothered. dont mind dh playing golf either, just never ever heard he say no to anyone !! bless
bored and cooped up too....la.la.la.la.nothing on tv....

got a wedding invitation from my friend this morning. she is getting married on 10 july in devon. we want to go and take baby so now have to find hotel. realise that we dont have a travel cot. mil has. do we have to specifically ask if its ok to have a newborn?? surely its no prob for them? what do you think?

Egypt · 08/05/2004 14:02

ask the hotel that is.....not my friend!

Egypt · 08/05/2004 14:06

can i ask a favour of someone please? i'm trying to look at this website of a hotel for the wedding but i can load the page fine, but there's nothing to click on to view the site....is it just me?

it's www.woolacombe-bay-hotel.co.uk

cheers

libb · 08/05/2004 14:09

I am sure the hotel will have no problems with newborns - surely? I hope not, that would be really disappointing . . .

Mine are obviously not Braxton Hicks then - that means I still haven't experienced one! What the heck?

Just had a nice conversation with soon-to-be-exDH, he is very sweet and its nice we can get on. I hope he and DP will one day also feel able to do the same . . .

I guess if it isn't golf then its football, I have an afternoon of DP watching it . . . and strict instructions not to go into labour when Liverpool are playing, quick! someone induce me!!

Bozza · 08/05/2004 14:10

Would have thought most hotels would supply a cot if you request it Egypt. Never had trouble with hotels not taking young children/babies. Only B&Bs. Sounds like a nice weekend away to look forward to.

Going to go and take DS out somewhere now. Still not sure where though because weather not great here either.

libb · 08/05/2004 14:12

just looking at it - very nice! hmm, holidays . . .

I clicked on the "come in" bit in white writing - is that where you are stuck?

Bozza · 08/05/2004 14:14

Egypt just been on that website and you have to clik on where it says "come in". Looks very nice and should be great, they've got a creche although I guess your baby will be too young and a baby listening service so looks like you're in luck.

My DH's concession is to keep his mobile in his golf bag instead of leaving it in the car. I think he has it set so that only I can get through though.

GeorginaA · 08/05/2004 14:14

I am so tired at the moment. Is it just me? I think I had a decent enough sleep last night, got a lie in until 11am (wonderful WONDERFUL dh), haven't done anything particularly strenuous, yet it's 2.15pm and I'm seriously thinking of going up for a nap...

Bozza · 08/05/2004 14:15

libb - you might have had BH's and not felt them. I've been having them for months now. Its just a tightening across the belly really.

Have got to go....

libb · 08/05/2004 14:15

Do it GeorginaA, your body might be hinting that you need your rest while you can get it!

libb · 08/05/2004 14:16

Bozza, the midwife said the same so I'm not panicking . . .

Take care and speak to you soon!

Egypt · 08/05/2004 14:18

thanks girls, there's nowhere that says 'come in' on mine!!! or am i going mad? sounds ideal, as one of the other's she recommended says 'minimum age for children - 5 years'! charming.

WHAT is wrong with this computer grrrrrrrrr

yes i am knackered georgina. got up after a full nights sleep - best in ages and then went back to sleep at midday for an hour.

now the blinking this won't load at allll, AAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

libb · 08/05/2004 14:22

Do you want me to cut and paste information onto an e-mail? it doesn't seem to show pictures of the rooms but webiste layout does give a great impression!

Egypt · 08/05/2004 14:31

thank you libb, bless you, but realised my task bar is too fat at the bottom and it was covering up the words! managed to look now and it seems gorgeous - except, don't do one night bookings on the date she is getting married! hmmm, now what? shall have to scoot around some little b and b's

libb · 08/05/2004 14:34

I would recommend Smoothound for a B&B/Hotel directory - I've often found places to stay on there and some do internet offers.

Egypt · 08/05/2004 14:47

thanks libb, you are a star

prufrock · 08/05/2004 16:22

Oh you poor things.
Georgina - repeat after me. "The prostin will work, I will have a wonderful labour and a beautiful angel baby in less than 2 days" And for you all doing this for the second time, it is so much easier to have a new baby and a toddler than to have a toddler and be 9 months pregnant. I cannot believe how much better I feel now compared to 2 weeks ago - we walked to the shops en famille today and I was running along with dd - two weeks ago I had to sit down twice on the way there!
Good luck everyone, and I want some more births soon please - I want to start the May babies thread but I'd be talking to myself
