Scan: choroid plexus cysts, echogenic focus abdominal wall

Just had 20 wk scan. Apparently the brain cysts aren't anything worrying but if there are certain other symptoms can be an indicator of Edwardes syndrome (I researched that, not what told me at hospital). Sonographer also found a white area in the abdominal wall and said she didn't know what it was, however all the major organs seemed ok (although they couldn't do the heart assessment cos of where the baby was lying). I have appt in fetal medicine dept for further scan but wondered if anyone had similar results from an anomaly scan?

Oh, fan-bloody-tastic Arabica! I had my heart in my mouth checking the thread then! :) :) :)

Arabica · 24/03/2006 19:18

It's fab isn't it. I feel really exhausted and everything aches. I reckon they have the results in vv quick but wait until you've passed the 48hr deadline to call--cos if you're going to miscarry it will happen by then.

Oh, Arabica Grin

bluebear · 24/03/2006 20:20

Glad your results are good!

(And on behalf of the lab staff, can I just say that it does take about 48 hours to do the tests and we would never keep the results back for any reason - we know just how much stress people are under waiting for them).

SoupDragon · 24/03/2006 20:24

Fantastic :)

Hope the rest of your pregnancy is trouble free!

Arabica · 24/03/2006 21:25

I wasn't implying the labs hold back the results, Bluebear, rather that the fetal medicine units want to be sure that the patients have passed the time when they are most likely to miscarry as a result of the tests, before being given the results.

Hoxtonchick, the clothes are great, can't get on with the under-the-bump jeans though--am the wrong shape! Loving the black trousers (2 pairs), the over the bump jeans and the tops.
