Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Midgetm · 22/08/2012 18:35

Somewhere virtually impossible to put that on in a week. Maybe your scales are wrong?

Hpbp · 22/08/2012 20:43

Midget, come anytime and we can eat ice lollies in the garden together, I still have a tummy of a 3 month pg lady !!! And although Anastasia is feeding a lot, I have not lost a lot of weight yet, still 7 kg to get rid of ! :(
Knotty, yes it is a bit hard not to have DH especially between 6 and 9pm when Anastasia needs feeding and DS1 needs showering, eating and bedtime routine but at least here my Mum cooks for me otherwise I don't know how much junk food I would eat....
Somewhere, from one scale to another there might be discrepancies, it is better to rely on the weight variation from one single scale, and it is also less traumatic :)
Crazy, welcome to the thread, I had my baby more than 3 weeks ago and still hanging in because I found the ladies here very loveable !
Anastasia is growing well, she puts on roughly 50 g a day when babies on average put on 30 g daily. She now has chubby cheeks that I can't help kissing but she also needs a lot of cuddling and skin to skin contact so I feel sometimes very guilty not to be able to spend quality time with DS1. He is lovely, kissing his sister and me a lot. He loves to help me change her, getting nappies or cream, doing his best to help. My God, how is it possible that we have enough love for all our kids?
Time for me to get some sleep.

somewherebecomingrain · 22/08/2012 21:18

thanks for advice. calming down a bit. i don't think i am 14.5 stone - it's just not possible. i'm only a size 14... surely that's more in the 12-stone area?

hpbp your kids sound absolutely lovely - good sibling dynamics

xx

Midgetm · 22/08/2012 21:33

HP your description makes me so excited and a little relieved. Hard to imagine having as much Love in my heart for a new one as I do for DD and I already almost feel like it would feel like being unfaithful to her. Daft, our ability to love our children is endless hopefully

crazyforbaby · 23/08/2012 04:49

Aww HP, I got a lump in my throat when I read your post...these crazy pg hormones of mine have me blubbing at anything these days. So glad that there's no jealousy with your kids-makes your life easier! I keep thinking with each baby that I have, that one of them will go 'Oh no, not another baby-now you'll have even less time for me', but no, they always seem happy to have another person to play with. I saw my big strapping nearly 12 year old DS sitting down with the 3 yo DD to help her have a tea party with her dolls today-sniff sniff! Remind me of this moment when I complain that they have been little ratbags and fighting all day !!

knottyhair · 23/08/2012 06:58

So lovely to hear all your stories about your older kids with babies/younger kids. Glad I'm not the only one who was finding it hard to imagine feeling as much love for this one as I do for my gorgeous DS. I know rationally that it will happen as everyone tells me it does, but still can't really get my head around it!

bytheseaside · 23/08/2012 14:48

somewhere this isn't a boast, but I've barely put any weight on yet - and am nearly 7 months! I've been really worried about not getting enough nutrients, as am just not hungry ever... and am still hobbling round on puffy, inflamed feet anyway ... If you are size 14, I don't believe you can be that big either - you sound pretty normal to me :) I guess we worry whatever happens!

Aw hpbp it sounds like you are having such a lovely time and baby anastasia is clearly thriving

My baby is still behaving like an acrobat in there - I just can't wait to meet her! As she is our first, I can't quite imagine how I'll feel, but we are trying to talk to her so it all feels more real. Shamefully, she's probably more used to the sound of daytime tv at the mo, though... Blush

knottyhair · 23/08/2012 15:19

somewhere, I haven't actually weighed myself since I got pregnant Blush. But I can only tell you that I was just like you when I had MS, I wasn't actually sick but had to keep eating to control the nausea, and like you, I was really worried I would pile it on. Now at 22 weeks, I find I can only eat much smaller portions so I think it will all balance out {fingers crossed}. I don't think I look much bigger around my arms & legs, seems to be mostly bump so I really wouldn't worry. As you get further on, you'll find you eat less. I think as long as you are eating to control your MS and try not to go too mad once you feel better, you'll be fine.

ValiumQueen · 23/08/2012 16:33

I was really worried I would not love no.2 as I loved no.1 so very much. I read a fabulous story about the love being like candles, the love of the first ignites others, and it is so very true. Our capacity to love is limitless. And then there is the love they have for each other (interspersed with fighting obviously) it is just one big love fest!!!

I am now wondering how I will fit three on my lap!

Hpbp · 23/08/2012 17:06

Seaside, I am so envious, no extra weight at 7 months, lucky you ! A friend of mine put on only 5 kg, it took her 2 days or so to get back to her pre pg weight after the birth and she was eating normally, no excess on one side or the other. I put on 16 kg, still 7 to lose ! Still wearing maternity cloth !

VQ, Knotty, midget, crazy, you are taking the words of my mouth, yes love for our kids is endless, limitless and no matter how many kids we have, 1 or 6, we will love all of them the same way. I did not know it was possible but here I am, it is indeed possible. I seem to love even more my first as he is behaving so nicely with everyone in the family, giving spontaneously and generously cuddles and kisses. I was afraid of sibling rivalry, my little sister has the pb with her 2 kids aged 10 and 7, but fingers crossed, DS1 seems very happy to have a little sister.

ValiumQueen · 23/08/2012 18:02

It is perfectly ok to like one more than the other at times! Grin

somewherebecomingrain · 23/08/2012 20:43

Aw this is inspiring stuff. Losing track of who has what kids but the six sound lovely.

Thanks for advice on weight. Scales have settled at 13.5 - and remember 1 stone of that is bosoms - so feeling a big less worried. No stone in a week. On the downside I must have been 13 stone min befor conception . I never lost my previous baby weight. But never had scales so didnt really face up to it. My DP bless him has said if he sees me with crisps, even ones from Planet Organic made by Tibetan monks and seasoned by fairies, he's going to buy a pack of cigarettes and smoke one.

Xxx on iPhone so short thanks ladies for support

Hpbp · 23/08/2012 20:57

Crazy is the one expecting number 6 and working FT ! Hats off, ladies ! :)

Hpbp · 23/08/2012 20:58

Valium Queen :) Wink

ValiumQueen · 23/08/2012 21:06

If I discounted arse and tits I would be a normal weight Grin

Hpbp · 23/08/2012 21:14

Actually, the 7 extra kg I still have must come from the huge boobs ! So sad I won't keep them forever... I should go and get proper fitted bras so that I know which size of implant I could go for... In a million years !

Midgetm · 23/08/2012 22:00

Currently strapped to a monitor. Having painful contractions. Baby not cooked yet. Buggering bollocks. Probably just a UTI, seem very prone, only just finished the course for the last one. Sad

Cadmum · 24/08/2012 02:50

Sorry. I just lost a long iPhone post because of dodgy Internet...
midge Oh no! I hope the contractions are under control. Sending you positive vibes for an end to UTIs. Cranberry juice and water every hour helped me way back when.

knottyhair · 24/08/2012 07:25

Thinking of you midget xx

ValiumQueen · 24/08/2012 07:27

Holding your hand midget

Hpbp · 24/08/2012 08:23

Midget, hope you are feeling better. Thinking of you.

bytheseaside · 24/08/2012 10:43

Oh midget - hope things settle down and that you have stuff to distract you while you are in there :( How many weeks are you now? You are prob way beyond this, but if all the sugar in ocean spray is a problem for your utis, I found a pure cranberry juice in health food shop - feels like sucking a lemon to have it neat, but fine mixed with water / smoothie.

somewhere glad you are feeling better about things - this is no time to be worrying about your weight, unless it is actually making your health bad :) I found a recipe for no-fat home made crisps, but I frankly couldn't see the point and am sticking with hoola hoops multipack this week (after last week's kettle chips bonanza)

hpbp your DS sounds adorable! and yours crazy

I have a million things to do today - top of the list is to find a removals company asap! But all I want to do is nap on the sofa as usual...

Midgetm · 24/08/2012 10:55

Thanks everyone. I am 31 weeks so dr said not the worst thing that could happen. Got home in the wee small hours so knackered now. Swab for labour negative for now and feel like been hit by a bus but relieved all ok. Contractions stopped too so fingers crossed just a false alarm. This is the third time now, they must be getting sick of me.

ValiumQueen · 24/08/2012 12:55

They are doing their job midget and you are doing yours, so they will not be fed up of you. Glad things seem to have settled.
