A new thread for us all to share our mutual anxieties, hopes and fears.

Mmmmmm Mygirl. I had to put a stop to that one or I'd end up huge lol. Kept fancying toasted cheese with worcester sauce on it.

Had a kip earlier but could quite happily go back to bed. Counting down the minutes before I bathe ds2 (looking forward to a soak). Had a great time bathing the two cats earlier too Grin. Poor things have fleas, indoor cats aswell. Pretty sure they got them from this house. House was minging when we moved in a year ago and supposedly the carpets were cleaned (funny how they still smelt of dog after). Found out fleas can live in a vacant house for up to 2 yrs then come out as the place gets warm hence poor kitties flea ridden. They were'nt happy getting bathed but here's to flea free cats Grin

Boopert · 19/03/2006 18:26

Nah, when he has 'man flu' i ignore it. Thought that was it but last night i honestly thought he was gonna die he was so ill. Not like him at all....

Went to my ds2 grave today, was shocked at how the staff at the cemetary don't actually give a shit. They had broken toys ds1 had put on there and the one next to his had the little fence all broken up. Think i'll get dh to write to the council and complain. So disrespectful. But by the time my mum, myself and ds had tidied up it looked a lot nicer.

Sorry, had to get that off my chest. Blush

Boopert · 19/03/2006 18:27

Sorry, just been told shouldn't mention ds2 grave, people may be offended.

mrsmaddyd · 19/03/2006 19:20

oopert who on earth would be offended. ????? You should write to the council too, its not right. Thing is was probably kids, they just dont think about other peoples feelings. But when they are older and go through what us adults endure they will understand.

Today i have gardened for hours, hoovered mopped the floor and cooked a roast. I am absolutley bushed now and have a spot of back ache. it was such a lovely day though wasnt it, the toddlers ate thier lunch outside Smile

P/S I finished off the banoffie pie after dinner. Yum Yum.

Hope you all had a fab weekend.

16weeks today and 2 more sleeps till my scan

Boopert · 19/03/2006 19:26

Ohh that reminds me! Two days til my detailed scan! And she'll tell me again that its a boy!!!

Nervous but excited....

Sure it was the workers, went up there on Christmas Day and they'd trashed his grave and the one next to it. Will complain again.

Arabica · 20/03/2006 10:05

Feel absolutely crap. I don't know how am going to cope with the wait until Weds for my next scan. This pregnancy has been a complete anxiety trip from the very start.

diddle · 20/03/2006 11:38

arabica - i hope it all turns out to be ok for you.

Slink - you are having a rough time of it. I feel like i'm the only one in control too. My midwife is not exactly great, rushes me in and out and hardly says a word about anything. she didn't even know how i shoudl claim my maternity allowance, i would ahve expected her to know everything. when i suggested i wanted a water birth she didn't offer any advice at all.
I'm seeing the doctor today though, presumably for a check up, so we'll see how that goes.
I've had more wetness than normal the last week or two as well slink, think its normal though. fancy losing a stitch, must be quite common or hopefully they'd be more bothered.

had a busy weekend travelling to the in laws, and visiting family. worn out now. been to the doctors today for a check up. all was fine i was rushed in and out in record time as always. she hardly said a word to me. good job i know what all her notes mean.

Boopert · 20/03/2006 13:14

So what hospitals are you all at? It is shocking that one hosp is very good then another down the road is so bad. Surely they can sort it out, can't be that hard.

slinkstah · 20/03/2006 14:30

boopert- thats terrible about your ds2 grave, you should definatly write to the council!
i wish i had sorted out my dd2s ashes burial but got a sales pitch evertime i went to sort it and couldn't handel it, or afford it (overpriced in my cemetary)

mrsmaddyd - we count things in sleeps too Grin

diddle- so rubbish you are rushed in and out, i mean you have had 2 previous m/c they should realise how nervous you are about this pg!
I am going to get some nitrazine paper to test for waters next time i have a leakage- maybe they will listen to me then!
i have heard it is normal for it to be a bit more watery down there at this stage so fingers crossed thats all it is.

boopert- im at st marys hospital in london, the midwifes are generally really nice, although have only seen them when they do bp and urine, which is done in waiting area. the consultants are ok too, i think they think everything is going well all the time- like 2 days before cervical scan revealed cervix funnelling and was called in for emergency stitch the prof said alls well and to make an appointment in 3 weeks, knowing full well i lost my last baby around this time and was feeling pressure etc.

just goes to show you must trust your own feelings and not what the drs say.

right think i have caught up on the weekend! would have loved banofee pie though!

SnowdropsInTheSpring · 20/03/2006 14:42

Boops here. Name changed.
I have been getting soggy too (and not from anything remotely interesting!) Thought it was just me. Its worse in the morning.
Am having scan and consultant appt tomorrow so will ask.

Also, whats the chances of me possibly using a birthing pool?

I'm at Ealing and they are fantastic. Can't praise them enough. Have been marvellous and they have made me feel less worried through this pg.

Slink, have you been doing pelvic floors? I've tried but it really hurts and seems to put pressure on my undercarriage. Another thing for my list of questions....

slinkstah · 20/03/2006 15:05

oooh yes ask them about water birth as i have been thinking about that considering a homebirth is out the question.
i think cori is ealing hospital too, i know she's somewhere west london and she has had great care too.
you should come to the london mini meetup which i think is on april 12th :)

as for pelvic floor, i haven't done many, ive been too scared after the stitch just incase i break anythingGrin
the other day i had to use a thrush pessary and you have to do it without an applicator when pg, i was freaked out by it and really did not want to stick it in myself from fear of what i found lol. i did it in the end as quick as poss so did not feel anything lol

SnowdropsInTheSpring · 20/03/2006 15:14

lol @ Slink.

Its a good job i know what you mean! Might think you're a nutter otherwise Grin

mygirllolipop · 20/03/2006 15:34

Nothing's ever to TMI for a pg thread! And guess what it's slink again! I love ya really hun!
Boop/Snowdrops - I would rant to the council about DS2's grave, that's not on.
Morning everyone else, oh yeah it's not morning I can't tell what time it is as DD3 being a pain with teething bless her little gums.

SnowdropsInTheSpring · 20/03/2006 15:36

Morning? A bit behind today are we? Grin
Actually, whats the day? Never mind the time.....

slinkstah · 20/03/2006 16:09

lol i am a nutter!
more tmi coming up.......

had more of the fluid escape just now, after a number2Blush managed to get some and have stuck it on my ovulation microscope- after googling about how to test to see if its waters, i found that you either test with nitrazine paper and it turns blue or you dry it on a slide and see ferns when magnified. so am going for the latter option as haven't got nitrazine paper.

specimin is drying as we speak, will report results soon :)

SnowdropsInTheSpring · 20/03/2006 16:13

PMSL! Ohhh maybe thats the extra water....

Will be awaiting the results Slink.

Got really bad pain in my tummy. Just been shouting at dh, think baby is sitting on a nerve to shut me up....or its wind.

slinkstah · 20/03/2006 16:27

whoohoo no ferns ! although tis a right funny pattern! am pleased its not waters :)

you have prob pulled a muscle by shouting lol

wools · 20/03/2006 16:52

Hi everyone,

Arabica, sorry you're feeling so down - I hope that Wednesday comes round quickly and you have good news. Sometimes the more reading you do about these things the worse it is - I'm sure everything will be okay.

Snowdrops (good name by the way)....
I'm so sorry to hear about your ds's grave - can't believe that the workers can't be more careful - how would they like it?
I had my first ds at Ealing hospital - the midwives there are really lovely. My last was born at Queen Charlottes and the next one will be too but have fond memories of ealing maternity unit.

twocatsonthebed · 20/03/2006 19:07

Hello everyone

Arabica - hope you're feeling better, and diddle, hope the doctor is more use than the midwife...

well all of my stamping of feet and gnashing of teeth in the direction of the doctor on Friday accomplished something, as I now have a scan and consultant appointment next Monday.

Of course now I've got it, I don't want it at all - and am now assuming that they're going to find something wrong, or nothing at all. But I'd still rather avoid the five weeks of missed miscarriage I had last time, walking around thinking everything was alright when it wasn't.

And we've slightly (only very slightly) solved the horrors of waiting here at twocats towers. Dp and I are getting married in July - so either something goes wrong and I get married and can drink the champagne, or I have a wedding in which I am regularly being mistaken for the marquee...

mrsmaddyd · 21/03/2006 06:40

Morning Everyone.

Oh my god, the day has arrived its half six and ive been up since 5, not by choice my son was playing dinasours.

Anyway appointment is at 9 so im off to do a wee sample.

Wish me Luck. Im so scared. Ive never been like this before, i supose its because ive learnt not to take pregnancys for granted.

Catch you later xxxxxx Hope you are all well

Wills · 21/03/2006 09:13

Goodluck maddy

How are you feeling Arabica?

I spent the weekend partially moving house. We're planning a new life in Ramsgate (100 miles from where we live now) and completed on our dream house on Friday. using a "man with a van" we moved enough down there to spend weekends there until we can move permanently. Given the Lottery of Hospital care dh and I decided we would rent a property where we currently live to a) cover the gap between selling and finding a new place b) guarantee that we would be around lots of friends whilst little one hopefully makes a successful arrival c) to stick with a very much liked consultant and d) to reduce the amount of change the dds have to go through at any one point. The only annoying bit is that it doesn't have a phone or internet access.

We're really in love with our new house though and can't wait to get back. DH has an operation next Monday to check for more lumps so we can't go away this weekend which is frustrating as we all chilled out completely.

I can't make my mind up whether little one has turned or not as I'm get 360 degree kicks.

LOVE Banoffee pie

diddle · 21/03/2006 09:51

hope its all going well maddyd.

wills - goodness me your life is hectic at the moment. when are you due??

Wills · 21/03/2006 10:02

22nd May. The move has been planned for a while, longer than the little one. We discovered that dh's cancer was back roughly 18 months ago and it made us think about all those things we kept putting off such as moving to the coast and starting our own business and generally downscaling and spending more time with our kids. Of course what wasn't planned was that everything would come at the same time - but that's life.

Wills · 21/03/2006 10:03

How are you today?

Missmibaby · 21/03/2006 10:06

MrsMaddyd hope your scan goes well.

Hope everyone else is managing to stay relaxed and not too anxious (like I can talkGrin)

Feel sooooo lethargic today - meant to be working from home but feel like doing bugger all.

Cold and grey doesn't help.
