MS seems to have kicked in for me in a big way this morning, I can't even keep a few sips of water down :( so am currently tucked up in bed hoping this doesn't last long. Finally got booking in appt tomorrow, anyone know if you have to provide a sample? Looking forward to getting a date for. The first scan, and on the plus side there's only 6 more months of work left - woohoo!

alwaysanauntie, I had my booking-in this week and had to provide a sample, just ask the receptionist for a pot when you arrive and you can go and get one ready before the appointment. You will probably have to have bloods taken, too.

I have to see a consultant to talk about previous caesarean, and need to attend an anaesthetic clinic as I've had previous bad reactions. Just waiting for my scan date to come through the post!

I seem to remember that at the booking-in appointment last time, I was given the notes to carry around with me, but this time the MW said that they're being sent off to the hospital? Forgot to ask if or when I get them back. Perhaps at the scan?

Na7asha hasn't posted in a few weeks, hope everything is okay!

I had my booking appointment today. The MW came to my house, with a GP shadowing her to learn what she does.

She did take a sample although, I had to try a couple of times as I was a bit dry having pee'd all through the night (sorry TMI). So, anyway, make sure you've got something in your bladder for that bit.

The GP did my BP and pulse, although think the MW would normally do this.

Apart from that, she just went through the green notes and asked me lots of questions.

I've got to go to the surgery next week to get my bloods done and then just wait for my scan appointment in the post.

Hi all, thanks for your messages, had scan this morning (hadn't realised it would be an internal) and saw a tiny little bean with a really strong heartbeat!
So so sooooooooo relieved and massively excited now :-)
She said that everything looked good and the size was perfect for the dates. She also said it's really really common to bleed in early pg and very often everything is ok.

Got practically no sleep last night from mulling over all of the various maybes so shattered now but very happy :)

Got date through for the dating scan - 7th nov.

Congratulations Wommer , that's fantastic news. Hopefully you won't have any more bleeding and you can just relax and enjoy being pregnant now.

7lamby - I'm sorry you are having such a stressful time. I have everything crossed for some good news next week.

MarKettle - how is your DS now?

I have my booking in appt on Tuesday and hopefully I'll get a scan date soon after that. These first 8 weeks have crawled by! I a still feeling really nauseous and tired so I can't wait to get this first trimester over and done with - I felt great after about 13 weeks with DD so fingers crossed it'll be the same this time around.

Just a quickie... Has anyone notices their hair and skin getting reeeeaaally greasy? I've always tended to the dry side for both but it's completely changed recently!

Got a BFP around 4 weeks ago, but did't want to join anything like this bus in case I tempted fate....think I'm a natural worrier!
Partly because I also had a bit of pain and a bit of brown discharge (sorry tmi!) and due to previous medical problems was convinced it was either a cyst or an ectopic. Turned out I had a UTI but they did a scan too - could see its tiny little heart :-)
Due Date is 23rd May from my dates or 25th May according to the scan.

And yes CODwidow - feel pretty emotional too...might be the waves of sickness passing over me and to many headaches (lost without ibruprofen - pareacetamol just doesnt seem to touch it!).

CODwidow - just read properly why you're feeling sad - don't be silly...I've got 2 siblings and would have loved to have had more! :-) I know I don't know you, but just the fact that you're worrying about that makes me think you'll be great. Bloody hormones!

Booking in yesterday was fine, slightly loopy midwife, but 2 of them there so reassuring to get info from them both, also they seem to be up for a home birth, so nice not to have a battle arguing for that. Can't book scan for another week but shouldn't be too far away as according to the wheel I'm 10.4 (although due to long cycle think I'm probably 1 to 2 weeks behind that).

I too am in the super greasy hair club, although thankfully skin has been ok, just the one big spot!

CODwidow I'm one of 4, and our mum was a bit mental bringing us up, but dad was away a lot and we understood it was tough on her and we all had to do our jobs around the house, and now we're older and have children we appreciate what hard work it was for her and still love her lots (but she is still a bit mental!). Don't worry yourself too much, there's enough other stuff going on to think about (plus you could talk to the kids, my sister's 3 are dead excited about their little brother/sister) xxx

I have been meaning to post for ages but have had energy for nothing. All I have been fit for is moping round the house feeling sick and tired. I'm even making myself fed up with all this moping! I would love to do some exercise but can't face it just yet.

Is anyone else eating non stop? I am like a bin that cannot be filled. Am nearly 8 weeks but have a mini bump already, although I was massive during my first pregnancy, so maybe my stomach muscles have no resistance left LOL.

Congrats to everyone who has had a scan and heard a heartbeat. I haven't even got a date through for my first appointment, how far in advance did you hear from the hospital?

This is possibly TMI, but is anyone else getting awful stomach ache? If I lie on my front my tummy hurts and my tummy is so bloated. I also have (again TMI) really bad wind. I'm not eating much because I feel so sick. I'm wondering if it could just be because my stomach is so upset?

hippieshake - I had terrible stomach ache last weekend. Was trapped wind, and without going into too much detail I was absolutely fine once it was epelled

Guys - not been on in ages as despite now 6 positive pg tests I still don't have any symptoms. Been wishing the days away trying to get to 12 weeks as fast as possible : ( I get married at the end of this month and if I'm right would only be 10 weeks by then.... I need to know one way or the other. At least if I'm not actually I'll be able drink the champagne and eat cheese. Would prefer to be pg however.

So, have booked in for an early scan through www.ultrasound-direct.com for tomorrow. Now am really terrified and I really hope am worry over nothing.

Na7asha I think that sometimes people are just lucky enough not to have symptoms. Are the lines on your tests getting darker? Six BFPs can't be wrong =)

Hippieshake I've done lots of different types over the last couple of weeks, haven't noticed them getting darker but then the last couple have been digital. I have a friend who is (hopefully) at the very same stage as me and she's had terrible sickness. She tells me I'm probably just lucky.

Hi hippieshake - I'm getting the really uncomfortable stomach and lots of wind too. It's really annoying because my most comfortable sleeping position has always been on my front (big boobs) and now it's not and it's really messing with my sleep! Closest that I can get is to curl up against DP's back, but then I end up driving him towards the edge of the bed or my arm gets pins & needles.

Have known for a while now as due 25 May 12 but am a first timer and new to Mumsnet! Such a comfort to be able to read your comments & not feel like the only one!
DH works away and is only back every other weekend so both a little surprised it bas happened altho it only took 8 months.... but boy those symptoms started straightaway .....
Boobs have become enormous - from 34D to an F - already?! DH thinks all his Christmases have come up at once :o
Sensitivity started immediately but seems to have abated recently. As has the extreme hunger I suffered from for a few weeks. In fact told DH only yesterday that I no longer felt pregnant which was probably more alarming tHan I intended over the phone - oops. Insomnia is the latest issue. As well as veins being more noticeable on breasts and lower left leg. v odd.

Have MW appt in 2 weeks and scan in week 12 (10 Nov) when I hope DH will be here. 4 weeks seems like a very long time to wait to find out if all on track..... Only told 2 of my close friends so far; will wait for scan before sharing our secret wider. Fingers crossed all goes to plan.

Am 34 and no too many people failing tc or going down the ivf route. So relieved we have had a BFP but freaked out at reduction in symptoms over last week.

It's good to know I'm not the only one with an awful stomach. Just made myself eat a salad for lunch. 5 mins later my stomach is like a balloon and I feel like crap. I have started to hate food.
