I am much less tired today.... maybe something to do with the super sunny weather...and that Friday feeling! Looks like the BBQ will get one final outing before autumn hits!

How is everyone doing with not telling people - every time I talk on the phone or send an email I have to remind myself that its too early... it is killing me!

So where in the world is everyone? I'm in SW London..

iowmum88 · 30/09/2011 15:23

Im on the isle of Wight lovely and sunny!! Wish I had gone to the beach!!!

twittertotter · 30/09/2011 16:16

Iowmum88 - Lucky you having a beach nearby... the local sandpit in my park is the nearest I can get!!

Am also potty tranaing my DD so think we will mostly at home this weekend. ( cant face the clean up of a car seat after accidents!!)

iowmum88 · 30/09/2011 16:42

Dont blame you my DS is 2 years as well but not quite at the potty training stage yet.
Moving soon as well will have a view of the sea and it will be just a 10 min walk away cant wait it will b brilliant and beaches are always a good cheap day out even in the winter with a pair of wellies!!

rimmer08 · 30/09/2011 16:51

lucy23110 · 30/09/2011 17:01

Hi, feel so much more positive today, must be the sunshine and not being at work. Still no symptoms to speak of, not even tired today. Have been with my best friend all afternoon and was so so close to telling her, but managed to contain myself, think we are going to tell my family at the weekend as got a get together and they will think it strange that I don't have a drink!!!. L x

MarKettle · 30/09/2011 20:45

I think I spoke too soon on not feeling too tired or sick! Had a rough week feeling nauseous and wanting (and not getting!) lots of sleep.

To answer questions further up; I'm 26, a SAHM and we live in rural Leicestershire. The thing I'm looking forward to the most with this pregnancy is sharing it with DS. I'm really hoping he's happy about it, as he's been keen on having a sibling for about a year now. I'm prepared for him to change his mind frequently about the whole thing, though Grin

Hello,

I'm 23 and I got my BFP last Wednesday. It was a complete shock because I have PCOS and haven't ovulated for a year, plus my cycles are all over the place. I was due to start Clomid this month, and had decided to go to the Doctors because AF didn't show. I was going to moan at him to get me kick started. I figured I better take a test the morning of my appointment just to be able to answer his 'and you're not pregnant..?' question with a No. Hey presto, BFP! I hadn't even started my first round of treatment.

He's estimated I'm around 6 weeks. This is my first, and I can't wait to go for my booking in appoinment and have my first scan.

I've already started feeling sick, and my boobs are huge! I'm having period type pains too which keep worrying me, but he said it's normal.

I hope the next few weeks go quite quickly so that I can get to 12 weeks and start to enjoy being pregnant instead of worrying.

Congratulations to everyone! xxx

WidgetWB · 01/10/2011 18:02

hippieshake it seems that no one is around and talking so I shall say WELCOME to our ridiculous long thread and I hope you are feeling ok. Huge congratulations, well done you - its strange how these things often happen just before you are about to get help or start on medicine etc, I think its because the body has relaxed.

The first twelve weeks are the longest you will ever experience although you are now half way through them. Even now on my fifth pregnancy I cannot believe how slowly it goes. Its utterly painful getting to twelve weeks, each week feels like eternity, but once you are there, you have seen the baby etc, if all ok, you relax and wait till 20 weeks which arrive faster oddly.

Lots of people here to talk to although day time and weekends seem to be a bit quieter as quite a few of us have children to keep us busy during those times - or work for those lucky ones that have jobs! I however work from home so am often around if you want to chat or scream or ask!

Congratulations again.

hippieshake · 01/10/2011 19:55

Thank you. It's good to know there are others out there.

I do have a question actually. Obviously they date your pregnancy from the first day of your last period at first. Does this change when you go for your first scan though? Or is 12 weeks pregnant actually around 10 weeks after ovulation/conception? So basically if I am 6 weeks, in 6 weeks time will I be 12 weeks and out of the worrying part? Or will I actually only be about 10 weeks? I'm sorry if i've confused you, I've confused myself.

xx

WidgetWB · 02/10/2011 08:39

Sorry took so long to reply, was out for supper. No, when you get to your 12 week scan you will be 12 weeks. Its an argument my husband has every time and it makes him cross. Its counted from the first day of your last period. They may however change your date at your 12 week scan if perhaps you conceived very late then they will make the due date a bit later or earlier depending, but most stay around the same time. This is why less than 5% of women give birth on their due date! In France they are pregnant for 41 weeks and have a much higher chance of hitting their due date because they are actually pregnant for longer whereas our first at least two weeks are without baby in our tummy! Extraordinary system but one that has been in place for ever! Does that help?

lucy23110 · 02/10/2011 09:08

Morning, hope all ok? when I went for a wee this morning and wiped myself (TMI) it was a pale pink colour, and a small amount of blood. Feel fine in myself but called nhs direct, the lady was lovely but told me I just need to wait and see what happens! Just wondered if any one else has had similar experience? L x

Alisonjayjay · 02/10/2011 10:48

Lucy how many weeks pregnant are you? I haven't experienced this but I can imagine how worrying it must be. I did just read a few days ago that spotting in early pregnancy is common and unless it is combined with cramping and more bleeding then it will probably be nothing to worry about. I think that there are many woman who experience this and still have a healthy pregnancy and baby at the end of it.

hippieshake · 02/10/2011 13:45

Widget That's helped me loads, thank you.

How are you all feeling today?

Lucy This is my first prgnancy so I can't pull from my experience. My Mum however had bleeding with me throughout her pregnancy. The Dr told her not to worry unless there was enough to need a sanitary towel. I hope everything is okay for you =)

alwaysanauntie · 02/10/2011 13:46

Afternoon all, hope you're enjoying the lovely weather (sorry if it's raining where you are - bummer!). I thought I'd add myself to the list now I'm on a laptop instead of the mobile phone, as well as some updates/newbies.

Lucy one of the other ladies had the same problem last week, I can't find the post at the mo, but if you have a look you may be able to pm them and find out what happened? Hope it's all ok x

WidgetWB · 02/10/2011 15:22

Iowmumm88 - why aren't you on the beach????

iowmum88 · 02/10/2011 15:55

Havnt got the car today. But been to feed the ducks and a nice walk. Plus can't stay out for to long as have packed the sun cream and can't find it cause didn't expect this weather!!!

Enfyshedd · 02/10/2011 16:37

Hi Dozeyland - Thanks for the concern. Much better since Thursday (Thank God!), although the heat isn't the most helpful thing in the world. Went out last night to watch a gig, then had to take DSS1 out shopping for rugby boots today while DP took DSS2 to a party so I've now decided to stay in the shade and take root in front of the computer for the rest of the afternoon!!

Everyone keeps telling be that I should feel exhausted all the time but apart from feeling tired because of waking up in the middle of the night, I don't feel that much more tired than normal. Have any other first timers on here been told things to expect in the first 3 months and haven't had anything of the sort (yet)?

lucy23110 · 02/10/2011 19:17

Evening, thanks for messages. I'm 5 1/2 weeks. It seems to have stopped which I hope is good news, feel fine in myself, a little bit sick from time to time. I have now told my mum which somehow made me feel better (even though I am 35), she works at the doctors so is going to get me an appt to see MW. Hope everyone else is OK and has enjoyed the sunshine. L x

WillowB · 02/10/2011 20:14

Hi all
new to this thread and a little late as we weren't sure whether the bean was going to stick around but I'm currently 7+4

Lucy I had some bleeding last wkend. Totally freaked me out as it was red blood and enough to need a pad. Went to my doc who carried out some blood tests to check HCG levels were doubling & called my epu who said it's pretty common and unless it's accompanied by cramps/pain/clots is usually nothing to worry about. I had a scan on fri which showed the tiny baby with a little heartbeat :)

I know how scary it is & it needs to be checked out but hope my experience reassures you a little.

lucy23110 · 02/10/2011 20:49

Thanks Willow, feeling OK about the situation, hoping positive attitude sending positive vibes. Must have been so reassuring for you when you had the scan. Do you still get another one at 12 weeks? Not known anyone who has had an early scan. L x

WidgetWB · 02/10/2011 20:59

I have managed to get early scans each time - somehow! Still have 12 and then 20 and now far more excitingingly later on you can have the 3D scan which is the best and most amazing thing ever!

Is anyone else STARVING??? I am starving when I am eating, when i have just eaten and ALL the time. SO over it, clothes already not fitting and am only 6 weeks. YUCK! Anyone have ideas of what to eat to fill me up and not make me fat?

BlueCrane · 02/10/2011 21:40

Evening all...sorry been AWOL, been at PIL for the weekend, told them our news which was fun, though been feeling quite nauseous, v tired and upset tum on and off all weekend which has not been fun! Loving the unseasonal hot weather though our flat was like a sauna when we got home! widget I am totally off food...the thought of it (unless it's meat Hmm ) seems to just make me feel sick, but if I don't eat then i get really stressy with poor DH or anyone else who happens to be around so kinda force feeding myself when i know I should eat, though not enjoying anything much...v strange for me as I love my food! I'll hit the 6 week marker on Tuesday and then just 2 weeks to wait for booking app and early scan Smile but for now i think my bed is calling! Night all...

CODwidow · 02/10/2011 21:46

widget I'm with you, I can't stop eating! I'm so hungry I bought some snack a jacks and soreen fruit loaf to try help it but I've already put on some weight so not so happy with that as I'll only be 8 weeks on tues
