I did that with a knitted cardi that someoen's donw for me.

yingers74 · 13/10/2005 20:35

cad - no, am now very girl orientated so would not know what to do with a boy. It is funny as everyone else in my dh's side of the family from our generation have had boys, we are the only ones with girls which is quite nice! But u never know what life will throw at you!

Nemo666 · 13/10/2005 20:36

munz just going to do your thing

carpet is ready whenever we want it and the couches should be mid nov!!!!!!!!!

munz · 13/10/2005 20:38

ooh will be nice then just b4 the bump arrives. and xmas. (I love that new carpet smell)

Nemo666 · 13/10/2005 20:53

lol munz I cant wait although must not let waters break in living room...pmsl

munz · 13/10/2005 21:01

lol - no don't u dare - althou what colour r u having! lol - only kidding - I can see it now u'll be walking around on a plastic sheet just incase! lol.

Nemo666 · 13/10/2005 21:04

beige carpet and cream sofas...wonder if that would be covered under house insurance..lol

munz · 13/10/2005 21:05

oooooooooh dear god u haven't got cream sofa's have u? - we've got a cream leather suite and m,y god it's always dirty (suppose it would help to clean it - but hey can't be arsed cos it always looks dirty within a week) lol.

Nemo666 · 13/10/2005 21:06

we did but then i am obsessive and always have baby wipes to hand...pmsl Cant be any dirtier than our fabric sofa is

munz · 13/10/2005 21:09

lol - it's leather u're going for is it? - I must admit that when they do get big marks on them a wet cloth and it comes right off- failing that have u seen the flash pads they're good - althou yes baby wipes - hadn't thought of that -ooh right then off to clean me sofa with them and see how we go - normally it's a tooth brush jobby as the grian on the leather's so small it's the only way to get it really clean.

Nemo666 · 13/10/2005 21:24

it is leather yes thought with a toddler and a baby leather would last longer as our fabric couches are only 3 yrs old but a disgrace. Especially because cushions are removable which Adam has figured out they all end up on the floor being jumped on..lol

I have bought some of those flash pads to do all my bannisters so think will be useful for couch.

romilly · 13/10/2005 21:55

J&BM - lol, didnt i say midnight 2moro night? i'm obviously really great at these predictions, pmsl - so munz maybe you are not having a boy after all! i still reckon you are tho

guess what - just accepted an offer on our property, yayyyyy! oh sh**, now we have to find a house and move all before february uh-oh....

munz · 13/10/2005 22:00

aww rom i'm so pleased for u - where r u looking a tmoving to? - maybe we can all have a look as well for u! he he. I'm still hoping for a girlie. don't want a boy - althou that would mean DH doing the potty training and sex talk - hmmm! roll on a week till we know!

nemo - that's why we went leather tbh with a DH who works under the bonet most days and two dogs coupled with children we figuredit would be easier to keep clean by wipin it down - yeah right! lol - suppose i'd best do it on sat! lol. tried baby wipes - they din't really make much of a dent tbh. will stick to me flash pads and sadle soap -althou thats expensive - I got the spray gun one it was about £6 - althou cheaper than the proper leather cleaner stuff.

Nemo666 · 13/10/2005 22:04

Rom congrates to you hun...hope you fimd something sharpish..i am sure all these pregnancy hormones make us more imaptient for change...lol

munz do your dogs get on the couch?????? WE have a10 yr old dog who has always been allowed to but dh is fretting about her claws...am sure if anyone saw me they would have though I was mad when I was sitting scratching the couches in the shop to see if there were any marks

munz · 13/10/2005 22:15

good god no, seriously thou given the cost of them (over £1200 in the sale) we agreed that they wouldn't be allowed up - so basically we have an old duvet down the back of the sofa which comes out if/when we want them up on there to protect the leather, they're not allowed on the chairs only the sofa - braw back is thou if i'm feelin poorly and lie out under the cover they think it's alllowed to jump up as well - not that I mind too much as they keep the edges tucked in! lol.

rom - what makes u think I didn't do any work today?

romilly · 13/10/2005 22:18

thanks nemo - i hope so too - really dont want to be moving home when heavily preggers. lol @ you scratching sofas in the shop {shock]

munz - hoping to move no further than about 2 streets away! seriously, we love our location - just needed more room. however, being london, prices round here are prohibitive, so we'll probably only be able to afford somewhere with one extra broom cupboard after moving costs!

munz · 13/10/2005 22:19

lol@one extra broom cupboard! lol - so it's central then! lol.

Nemo666 · 13/10/2005 22:19

munz i did say to dh about getting a little blanket and letting dog lie there as she is good

munz · 13/10/2005 22:23

well that's all we do - when I'm feeling sorry for them or what a cuddle - but tbh when the duvet first comes out tehy both jump up but after about half hour they both get off and lie on the floor anyways. my MIL has her ogs running all over her leather suite - and they've completely ruiened it it's all scratched up and that - I know it's blue and was baout 8 years old - but it didn't have a mark on it b4 they got the dogs. I think she regrets letting them run all over it - and thats just two yorkies.
