Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
alibobins · 18/11/2010 19:05

sneak have a fab fab time away it's good to see you popping in from time to time :) Jacob was born 11th Dec so one of the earlier birtdays.

He is still causing concerns with his health :( he is just a sickly child and still struggles with reflux and chest problems and he's had an ear infection and water infection this past week Shock

He is quite a small baby still in 6-9 months clothes and no where near walking but that is fine by me lol

Mama5isalive · 18/11/2010 23:46

ahhhhhhh mama - hope your appt went well.
i have to say well done to all who are still BF -wow!
i loved it but so glad after the biting that i said enough now and so dont feel guilty at all!
he really enjoys his food but is very "dinky" so its so strange to see he walking around bending down getting stuff he also knows how to throw things which really aint funny! he also fits into 3-6 bodygrows and so he is getting alot of wear form his smaller clothes and i wont buy anything now smaller then 9-12 months! is it just me or are they at a strange foot size, trying to find small walking shoes is really hard the are mostly the soft crib shoes which dont help!
on a ahhhhh factor my DH bought me the iphone4 which is a replacement to the 1 i lost! early bday/christmas pressie! and its insured!!!!!!!!!

mama2mooandbabymoo · 20/11/2010 17:13

Hi all, well it was a complete waste of time! She looked at the weekly food record I had done, asked a few questions and said all was fine! She said when she starts walking she will go down - Duh, I could have told her that!

Babymoo is in 12-18 month stuff now!

So, what are you all doing with your Christmas trees this year? The last 2 years dd1 was either just sitting or walking well. What am I going to do with a crawler who eats everything she can find?!

alibobins · 20/11/2010 23:01

We just going to hope for the best and if Jacob causes too much trouble I've asked Dh to build some kind of guard round it lol.

Glad the appointment went okay.

sockmonkey · 22/11/2010 09:41

mama glad it went ok with the appt. Sorry they wasted your time though.

I've been wondering about christmas trees too.
Thought about getting something like this but I think the boys would complain.
Noop has a thing about wires so if she doesn't pull the tree over trying to use it to stand up with, she'll probably electricute herself chewing the cable. The boys were both summer babies, so were either not old enough to be moving, or old enough to not pull on the tree.
Wink

somewhathorrified · 27/11/2010 20:03

HIya all, feeling incredibly guilty about neglect the MN gang, no excuses, just been enjoying being a mommy. It's nice to hear how all the LO's are coming along and am trying not to feel a little jealous of the waving babies, although I've never tried to teach Tobin that so you never know. He is in rather large clothes though (not weighed him for ages) 12-18month at least sometimes larger! and size 5 shoes....where's my baby gone, he's been replaced by a toddler.

Xmas tree this year isgoing to be a little 1 ft thing that sits behind the baby proof guard that surrounds my tv and electrical stuff, it's bad enough the 3 cats trying to capsize it without having human collaberation.

Right off again, laters

somewhathorrified · 27/11/2010 20:04

Oh yeah, still BF here too and feeding during the night...sucker that I am.

sockmonkey · 30/11/2010 08:17

How are we all coping with babies and snow?
School is closed today (Hurrah!) It was tough going trying to push a pram through the snow yesterday.

sneakapeak · 30/11/2010 20:17

Hi everyone,

Had a brilliant long weekend in Kinloch Rannoch with friends last weekend.
Kids all got on really well and amused themselves by jumping on beds or being draggged out for long walks.
We amused ourselves by drinking our body weights in Rioja!

sock I hate the snow now. Im still officially bored of it since last winter. It really makes life hard when you have a baby in tow and small children and yes, prams and snow - not good.
I feel trapped already.

Fraoch wow I hadn't heard of the BF and menopause thing. I hope thats why im more anxious than usual then. Does it go quickly after stopping or does it take a while for your hormones to return to normal?

Ali, Olivia is 15th so not long either.
Sorry to hear JAcob is still poorly. I really hope he gets better with age which I suspect would happen. His immune system will get stronger as he grows. What a year you've had Sad.

Im getting excited about tomorrow though. 1st December my decorations go up (squeal) Grin!
I remember last year with my big bump and 2.5 yr old Evan decorating the tree like it was 3 months ago. Where did the year go?

I loooooove christmas. I have loads booked for the kids.
I did have Santa's Breakfast booked for Sunday but it was cancelled with the snow. Apparently Santa got stuck and couldn't make it. What about his magic sleigh and reindiers Hmm, how come he didn't make it, I mean it's Santa FFS.
I didn't take it well at all. Evan was much more mature than me about it!

Have a Panto and Santa on a steam train still to look forward to

sneak quivers with excitement.

super how are you feeling now? Another special xmas pressie this year you spoilt woman! Im jealous.

Where is Londonlottie these days? Wonder how she is doing with the twins?

Will come back before xmas to see how you all are. Enjoy the festivities Smile.

alibobins · 30/11/2010 20:46

well and truly snowed in :( with a poorly Jacob :(
But........................................................................................................
25 sleeps to go 25 sleeps till santa Grin
la la la

sockmonkey · 01/12/2010 15:50

We are snowed in now... good 18 inches out there.
Boys are off school. :)
Only downside was they were supposed to be going to see the Panto with school today. Cancelled! £20 down the drain. They did offer us the seats if we could make our own way there... yeah, can barely get down the street.

I have a good supply of nappies in, but food may be an issue soon... yikes.

sneakapeak · 04/12/2010 10:14

Right it's really not funny now.

I have a rear wheel drive car which is fecking useless in the snow so it's abandonned in the street because I couldn't even get it back in the drive after attempting to get it out.

Walking in snow with a baby in a sling who hates the sling and a 3 yr old who seems to hate walking period. I've given up leaving the house.

Im hating my four walls with a new passion.

My night out (and there aint many) was cancelled last night as our friends were stuck as they live on the outskirts of Edinburgh.

I have 30 presents to buy (haven't started yet apart from my kids) and there's no way they will get done.

At least I can use the snow as an excuse when I hand out vouchers or money to everyone (every cloud)!

I just came on here to maon about how bored I am which no doubt makes for a boring post.

I hope everyone comes on to say hello when it's the LO's birthdays. I think missmarjory is first, infact has it not passed?

I honestly can't believe this is one year on. Im broody Xmas Wink

sneakapeak · 04/12/2010 10:16

moan Blush

ali mine are both ill too, especially Olivia. Adds to the fun doesn't it!

sockmonkey · 04/12/2010 16:58

I have been very happy every day when school has text to say they are shut. I wasn't even too miffed when their trip to the panto was cancelled and I lost the money we paid.
I have a terrible feeling school will be back open on Monday, and there is no way I'll get the pram out, so will have to figure out a new way of doing the sling for a bigger baby, and then cr*p myself walking around with her in it incase I fall on her.
GO AWAY STUPID SNOW!
Cabin fever is really kicking in now. We did manage to get out to the supermarket yesterday, so have food in at least. Took me a good hour to dig the car out of the snow, and when we got back DH kind of skidded to a halt in a snow drift, so we are stuck again unless I go out & dig again. My back aches just thinking about it.

Next time (ha!) It will be summer babies all the way.

sneakapeak · 04/12/2010 20:12

Oh sock how mad is it to see that list again?

Do you think you'd go for a forth?
[nosey cow smiley]!

You are so not helping with my strange random broodiness that has kicked in lately.

I still have a baby FFS. I find having a 3 yr old and a 1 yr old really tough most days so why the hell does that list make me want to weep out loud then demand another baby?!

sneakapeak · 04/12/2010 20:14

Infact, who else is thinking about another?

somewhathorrified · 05/12/2010 22:04

resisting the maternal urge to have another just yet, want to wait a few more months yet so s not to miss a thing with Tobin.

sockmonkey · 06/12/2010 09:54

four socks are two pairs right? Grin

Saying that I think I am done at 3. Any more would mean a house move, a new car and we really can't afford it. We can barely afford the three that we have Wink
All the mums at school seem to be having babies at the moment though. I kinda miss being pregnant and waddling round (although I wasn't saying that at the time).

The Noop is sweet at the moment. She waves hello and goodbye, chatters away, and follows me round like a bad smell. She always wants to be on her feet. Are other babies the same? She is getting the hang of walking along holding onto furniture, and we have many many handprints on the bottom half of the TV.
Still haven't got a tree. Has anyone else tried the baby/tree combo yet?

sneakapeak · 06/12/2010 11:02

Is it hard with 3 sock?

Id imagine getting around is hard although your boys are a bit older aren't they?

Yes Olivia wants me to spend my day holding her hands so she can walk everywhere!

Ive spent this morning shouting 'Ah ahhh don't touch' and pulling her away from standing at the TV and banging it.

Im scared it falls on her.

Unlike Evan was, she couldn't give a rats ass.

I do my sternest face and really shouting at times and lift her away everytime.
Not a tear, just a determined look of 'who the hell do you think you are, I will damn well do it bitch'!

Can't wait until she is 2/3 - shudder.

We have a smaller tree this year up high on a side table at the window.

She crawls over and tugs at the wire for the lights and the angel at the top is now hanging on for dear life.

It doesn't matter though, she can't be left in a room on her own long enough for her to bring the tree down. Can't be trusted Wink.

God im sadly on here alot, you can tell im snowed in.

alibobins · 06/12/2010 14:39

Phew what a horrible weekend Jacob is still poorly so unless he's asleep he is attatched to me.
We have had our tree up since wednesday and haven't had Jacob induced incidence lol but don't know if that is because he's not well.

School was open today (yipee) but had to walk as couldn't get the car off the driveAngry it took 1hr 15m dragging the pushchair through the snow.

3 is the final number for me although can't shake the broodiness.

alibobins · 06/12/2010 14:41

incident

sockmonkey · 07/12/2010 10:41

Sneak Number 3 just slotted right in. It's not as difficult as I thought it would be. I'm not saying it's easy, but it is managable.
There is a fairly big gap though, which might make the difference. The boys were 4 & 6 when she was born, and DS2 had just started school full time.

ali poor little Jacob. I bet this cold weather isn't helping with his chest probelms either. Hope having him attached to you isn't causing too much trouble. Problem now is, they are getting a bit heavy to just shove in a sling so you can get on with stuff.

superparty · 10/12/2010 13:19
