Morning everyone! Olivia is STILL cruising. she's now 10 months and has been doing this since she was 7 months! She takes up to around 6 steps on her own and I keep getting so excited - and then she just plops down on her bum again!

She's starting to get more hair but has had very little until now. She's got some funny wispy bits on top that keep sticking up Grin.

OK - I have entered her photo into the Next baby competition. Yes I know, very silly blah blah. Silly competition though works on selecting finalists by how many votes they get on Facebook. So here is my shameless request for votes!!!

Please go to: apps.facebook.com/baby_modelcomp/entry/760505 and vote for the little monkey if you have a few seconds.

Off on a 2 hour walk today with the dog - so best get moving x

Mama5isalive · 01/11/2010 17:30

ps - isaiah has has a cold for over a week its runny nose, bloced nose in the mornings and now a cough! been trying vicks on his chest and for his temperture calpol/neurofen but is there anything else i can give him! sad when his sick and so clingy!

sockmonkey · 01/11/2010 20:39

For babies and children (and me) with colds I wet a flannel and put a few drops of olbas oil on, or at night olbas and lavender and put on the radiator. The oil helps clear nose and the extra moisture is food for stuffy noses too.

superparty · 02/11/2010 15:46

Hello yummy mummies hope you are all well

Sorry to hear about poorly babies, my Erin has had a runny nose for about 4 weeks and turned into barking/coughing over weekend, been to gp nothing they can give, so just nurofen, and olbas oil on tissue at night.

Ha Ha sneak I presume that waltons gaff was at me, you are very funny.

Well I now I have a very naughty little girl, who thinks it is qute hilarious to stand up and leave go of furniture/me/door etc and wobble precariously until she falls on her bum, i can see blood/tears etc in the near future.

hope everyone else good

speak soon

CantThinkofFunnyName · 02/11/2010 21:55

Sock - apps.facebook.com/baby_modelcomp/entry/760505 this is the link without the space at the end - sorry!!!

Hello everyone else. We really have quietened down haven't we? I've had a super mad busy day - indeed most days seem to be mad now. Finally sat down tonight to start Xmas shopping online! I hate the shops (bah humbug).

Still - nearly 10pm and haven't even had a cup of tea today. Time to rectify that methinks!

xx

Hope Isaiah is feeling better too.

One of the Mums at school has just had a little boy... well I say little, he was 10lb 11.5oz. Makes my eyes water just to think of it! Has put me off any broodiness Shock

superparty · 03/11/2010 12:57

10lb 11.5oz is just unfair

note to self - put down that chocolate and diet for next 12 weeks

i can't believe my baby will be one either, in only 12 wks, its flown by.

alibobins · 03/11/2010 14:55

Jacob has been a super clingy bum he is cutting his back teeth.

Mama5isalive · 03/11/2010 20:20

Socks - Ouch!!!!
Superparty - keep telling yourself this labour will be breeze maybe look in the mirror while touching your belly!
isaiah is in a foul mood today and has screamed while out to the point that i had to come out of tesco with not even half my shopping! everyone was looking at me,it was awful i also lost his bottle in the process!
tried again with my older dd16 and he done the same thing ahhhhhhhhhh he also decided to bite me!

superparty · 05/11/2010 13:45

Shock mama what a little monkey he is, we're at the pulling hair and smacking your face if you get to close, when I say 'no' she pulls an angry face, little madam, she's turnng into already, me thinks me might have my hands very very full by end of january.
Its so hard though when they are super cute though, even her angry face is cuteAngry

Does any one elses bub give kisses, erin just point blank refuses to kiss anyone, turns head away or smacks your face. But will make lovely kissing sound if you say give kiss. and will kiss munty (monkey teddy) all day long, another madamist feature i think, playing hard to get Grin

hope everyone is well

TTFN X

sockmonkey · 05/11/2010 15:57

Noop doesn't kiss. She will vibrate though which makes us all laugh. (think weight-lifter shaking with the effort). She has also just about figured waving goodbye, but is a bit hit and miss.

Mama5isalive · 05/11/2010 23:27

super - oh yeh isaiah has a bit of a temper when he dont get his own way! not nice, we do say no which he understands,he waves bye!!!
when kissing he opens his mouth and say ahhhhh
so i have to get him to close his mouth and stop trying to bite my lips or stick out his tongue!Grin
also does that when he has to eat and has a mouth full of paper or tissue!!!!!!
y does he like eating that stuff!

He is now becoming so strong with his walking im just amazed!had to get his first pair of real trainers size 3 for the space! he looks so cute with them with his jeans and duffle coat!
next is like my 2nd home!Grin
the countdown begins for my 2nd hol since having him cant wait!whhhhhhoooooooooooohooooo!

Fraochsmum · 12/11/2010 11:29

Hello all!
Been so long since I've been on here - but I'm now back at work and have time Grin Grin
My wee one is doing well, not walking yet but since turning 7 months has been crawling, pulling up, climbing stairs, walking round holding furniture/toys, and taking headers off my lap wheelbarrow-style. She has a lot of hair, but no teeth yet.
I will really try to come on here much more often cause I miss the banter!

Hope you are all well xxx

alibobins · 13/11/2010 09:44

Only 4 weeks and my little man will be ONE

sockmonkey · 16/11/2010 12:01

Crikey ali don't be mentioning things like that. Our babies are stil Babies Wink

Naomi still making the most of her one tooth for biting. I'm getting pretty fed up of bitten niffles now. It bloomin hurts. I take her off and tell her firmly no... after screetching with pain... but she is not getting the message. I really dont want to start down the bottle route now. Was going to feed her to a year then get her on cows milk. I dont have the time for expressing with 2 others to look after too. The boys both went through a biting phase, but it didn't last long, and neither of them had teeth.

Mama5isalive · 17/11/2010 01:02

its really quiet on here !!!!!! ssshhhhhhhhhhh
maybe all the active babies are keeping all the mothers well busy! i can only get on here when the house is asleep!Grin

Fraoch - hows you and being back at work?
Ali- 1 already where has the year gone?? and we rewind and get t back please!Confused
Socks- well done for keeping up the BF, when he started biting that was it for me, and oh the freedom is great he ate 1 large 10month jar of food today i was gobsmacked and he is a wee lil thing dont know where the food goes, well ermm yes i do a few hours later!!!!!
he is really walking now so need to invest in some better footwear also have a wedding in 4 weeks so need a suit for him! and then we are off on another hol yeh bring on the sun! cant wait to see how he is going to react with the sand, sea and heat!!!!!Grin

Fraochsmum · 17/11/2010 14:54

Wow Sock well done! Cara weaned herself off at 6 1/2 months, but I just said to someone today that I'm glad she did because I couldn't imagine how she would be now - she really never sits at peace and I'm sure I couldn't be discreet while trying to keep her on her bum!
I am fab thanks Mama! Work is going well, I got made redundant while on mat leave from my main job, so I am only doing 2 1/2 days. However, it does suit really well as I see loads of the wee hunni and get a break too Grin
Lucky you getting away to the sun! I had a wee night up in Glasgow to see Skunk Anansie - almost forgot what it was like to go to gigs! Have arranged to go to see the Levellers and the Wonderstuff as support in March, just so I don't forget Wink

sneakapeak · 18/11/2010 10:09

fraoch do you have weird taste in music or do I not get out much (sadly I suspect the latter)! >waves hello.

sock so she bites your NIFFLES eh? The F is nowhere near the P on my keyboard!!

Im still feeding Olivia too. Never thought id feed this long in a million years but once she turned 6 months I realised with a 3 yr old in tow it was actually much easier than organising a bottle.

Im sure ali that Olivia and Jacob were born close together, I hadn't worked it out until now but 4 weeks Shock. I just can't believe it.

With your first getting from 0-1yr seemed like alot had happened and they had grown kind of slower.

I feel like I haven't made the most of it this time or noticed as much of her milestones somehow Sad.

Shouldn't be sitting here on MN. Going Up North tomorrow (proper up North CTFNGrin) to Kinloch Rannoch (perthshire) with friends and their kids (6&2). House a tip, washing and ironing out of control and not even thought about packing yet.

Evan very excited as we have told him we are staying in a castle. It's actually a gate house with a turret but he will be impressed anyway Grin.

I love it up there. Miles of lochs, hills and pine trees. Absolutely stunning and so relaxing. Will probably go walking during the day, take turn cooking massive meals then get kids to bed, light log fire and get absolutely pissed Wink.

Don't get me wrong, after 3 days im all, enough with the trees and quietness, get me home but it's a good way to chill out.

super it's so weird to think you are having another baby at this time of year again. I feel all nostalgic about being PG this time last year. I feel like I should be sitting on a swiss ball to watch 'Im a Celebrity'!!
Exciting though that we will have another wee bub to follow.

Oh god will someone kill that Gillian McKeith what an absolute pain in the arse that woman is. (im back to celebrity incase your not watching).

Right enough of my drivel must crack on. x

mama2mooandbabymoo · 18/11/2010 10:22

Hi all, its been ages since I have been on here!

I cant believe we have walking babies already!!!

Babymoo is pulling herself up but thats it. We put her baby walker away a while ago as she started walking on the top of her feet Confused

She has a dietician appointment today. She is 9mo and weighs 23lb 4oz so I have been refferred. She eats healthy, home cooked food and fruit. Not sure what I will be told today. I think its because Im fat so my paed thinks I must be feeding dd2 chocolate and crisps!

Everyone else ok?

sneakapeak · 18/11/2010 10:38

sock I meant to say, why don't you try buying the ready made cartons of formula and putting it in a tippy cup.

mama hi, sorry to hear she has been referred. I never weigh Olivia so I have no clue what she is, she just looks normal for her height I suppose.

If babymoo is tall it would explain as im sure my friends 1 yr old is 2 stone but she is so tall for her age she looks fine (her dad is 6ft 7)!

sockmonkey · 18/11/2010 12:50

Sorry, they get called Niffles in reference to an old episode of Friends where Rachel trys to write erotic fiction. Do you know, since I wrote that, she's not bitten me since

Fraochsmum · 18/11/2010 15:40

Hahaha yes I do have rather eclectic tastes in music sneak! Were you someone else in your previous mn life btw? I feel really boring that I haven't changed my name once...
Hope you have a great time in Kinloch Rannoch - as you say it is absolutely beautiful, and all the more dramatic in inclement weather.
Hope your appointment went well today mama x
When is super due? Seems weird to imagine another one so soon! I'm still not completely back to normal after bf - not helped by the fact that our locum said our bodies basically go into menopause during feeding Shock
