sockmonkey · 13/12/2010 11:18

Sorry I missed it, but HAPPY BIRTHDAY JACOB! Hope you all had a fab day.
Did he try any cake?

alibobins · 13/12/2010 12:55

We had a fab day :)
Jacob didn't eat any cake as he is still diary/egg free but tucked into the rest of the buffet.
He wasn't interested in any opening any pressie's he just banged on them lolGrin

He is poorly again today another chest infection waiting for a phone call from hospital :(

Who's next on the birthday list?

Newbeginning1 · 15/12/2010 13:40

Hi everyone, remember me????

I'm so sorry I've not been on here at all recently. How are you all doing? I've been popping back occassionally and keeping up with the news but I need to go back and read what's new.

Ctofn - I see you've been poorly and you've had some sad news about your Aunty. Fingers crossed you're ok though and that Olivia and the clan aren't causing you too much hassle.

ali - I saw the pics of Jacobs birthday and he looks like be had a great time and he's got the cutest cheekiest grin. How are the other kids and how are you doing? I think I saw that you're poorly and so are the kids, if so get better soon everyone.

Super - how much longer until the new arrival?

crumpette - are you back with us yet?

sock - how are things?

Fingers crossed I'll be on here more regularly if you will have me back?????

Merry Christmas to everyone x x x

sneakapeak · 16/12/2010 11:19

Hi everyone, It was Olivia's birthday yesterday and we had a fab day.

Took kids to Deep Sea World as she is partial to staring at fish and banging on the glass. Loved it.

Just had both sets of Grandparents for a meal and loved all the attention.

Had her first bit of birthday cake (lovingly prepared by moi) and looked like she had discovered the meaning of life whilst munching it! Grin.

She was just full of fun all day as usual, so cute.

This morning she did a brilliant Beyonce impression.

Sat next to hifi while Beyonce sung that annoying, 'put a ring on it' number. When it came to the Oh Oh Oooh Oh Oh Ooh bit she sat up on her knees, clutching her hands in front and sticking her bum out in perfect time to the music she bounced with her mouth like so Shock! Tears were streaming at how funny (you had to be there Blush)!

Sorry to hear Jacob has a chest inf ali. Poor wee man.
Im going to have a quick scan to see what new meant about ctfn, haven't seen anything.....

sneakapeak · 16/12/2010 11:21

No I can't see it. What is wrong with ctfn?

sockmonkey · 16/12/2010 15:58

Hey welcome back new
Poor Jacob. Hope he's better soon.

Well, it's snowing again here. STOPPIT!!
The last lot hadn't even cleared yet.

Think we are having more fun teething. Noop was up till midnight crying. DS2 has a bad cough, so between the pair of them, they are doing a great job of keeping me up all night.

DH has got a new job starting after the christmas holidays. Still with the same company, but now a different dept. He's going to be in charge of a big revamp, and is looking forward to it. (and the extra money... although they will probably take the increase off my tax-credits).
I quite liked saying I was married to a photographer & writer though. Global Web sounds a bit geeky dull ordinary in comparrison Wink

CantThinkofFunnyName · 18/12/2010 23:09

Heeellloooooooooooo! Tis moi! Sorry sorry sorry - haven't been around for ages.

Firstly belated Happy Birthday to Jacob and Olivia! Woohoo.

Now - that bloody Xmas fete I organised for the school seemed to take every waking moment from mid September to beg December plus of course kids, house and stuff. DH got made redundant and started up his own consultancy business which is thriving and I'm running the company (of course), making sure all the statutory books, invoicing etc in order. Doing a couple of little jobs for clients that have found me too. Just been busy busy busy.

Had no heating or hot water for 10 weeks so that was a major gripe for me after getting a brand new boiler fitted and then it didn't work!

Illness hit the family - as it has for anyone who has kids of school age. I ended up with pneumonia and the kids (except Olivia) have been fighting sickness, colds, fevers etc on and off for weeks and weeks.

WMDO/Sneak - you still make me laugh!! Just had fun reading back a couple of pages here to catch up.

Super - my goodness, not long to go for you. I was just reminiscing about this time last year - although not fondly. I was crippled with SPD and this time am so looking forward to my Christmas dinner with oodles of port and cheese after!

We have a real xmas tree up but have a bloomin cage around it! The puppy pen we got for Percy months ago Grin. Doing the trick thus far with baby and dog.

Was supposed to go to panto today but thankfully decided against it and we, too, are snowed in - but in London FFS.

Was rather surprised to find that I have lost 1/2 stone in the past few weeks through eating shite. So now down to fighting weight of 9st without trying Confused. Guess it's just readiness for the amount I will put on over Xmas!

Talking of which, my little Olivia's birthday on 29th. We have a birthday party for her for family which will be nice.

Hmmm... what else? She's walking - have been since 8 November properly. I say walking, I should say running really. She's really dinky too. Still in 6-9 month clothes and indeed, I've just bagged up some 3-6 month ones even though she still fits in them!

Not even a size 2 foot yet which is a problem for shoes - but hey, we get around it. Waves bye bye and hello, gets a real temper on her and screams and throws herself back on the floor if someone walks away from her (like out the door or something). Also the great (not) teething fairy is paying a visit here too. Lots of nasty nappies and acid like bums, which brings an unhappy Olivia to the house. She too, follows me around incessantly.

Have I done everything? Oh yes, my aunt died (mum's baby sister). Bowel cancer. She had an op back in February and nobody thought she would come through it, but she did and then finally passed away a couple of weeks ago. She was coping really well and then went downhill v suddenly. So it's good really and a blessed relief.

Almost done for Xmas. A few stocking fillers to get and the veg for Xmas day - THANK GOD!!

Right - long post so going to go now but wanted to pop on and say hi and sorry for the neglect!

PS - New, Ali & Fraoch are connected with me on Facebook hence why they know what's going on what me!!

Love to all
xxxxxxxxxx

Newbeginning1 · 24/12/2010 21:26

Merry Christmas everyone. I hope its a special one for everybody and that the LOs behave themselves and that they have left out some nice liquid treats for Santa.

Great news from fraochsmum x x

Fraochsmum · 27/12/2010 12:36

I'M PREGNANT!
Took me a while, but I got there! Yes sneak, it did take a while for things to settle down - I stopped bf in July when Cara weaned herself off, but cycle didn't really get back to regularity.
I had a scan on Christmas Eve which showed I was 10+5 and due on 17th July! Will be quite strange having a baby at such a different time of year, hopefully be easier not having to layer up. Mw thought I might be ectopic (because I had the same bleeding as last time), but tests and scan showed all well. We have just told everyone now, as mw said monkey (had to chose a different type of nut, couldn't have another cashew...) was v healthy and very slim chance of anything bad happening now.
Hope you all had a lovely time and all going well xxx I'll post again when I'm not being hassled for the laptop

sockmonkey · 28/12/2010 11:25

WOOOOO!!!!! Massive congratulations Fraoch. That is brilliant news. What an excellent christmas present :) Hope you are feeling well. Summer babies are good fun too.

Hope everyone is having a lovely christmas.
What did babies think? Noop just didn't get the hang of wrapping paper, and chose to shout at it rather than rip it like DH showed her.

Noop can not only unlock my iPod now, she's worked out how to unlock my mobile phone, and I've been getting all sorts of people ringing me back after missing "my" calls and getting blank texts. Trouble is she really creates a massive fuss if I take phone/iPod off her, and will actively search for them. I'll have to find a new place to keep them, but am worried it will encourage her to climb if I put them somewhere up high. She is her father's daughter alright. Right Technophile.

sneakapeak · 30/12/2010 12:05

Congratulations Fraoch! Thats lovely news and extra special at this time of year Grin.

I fed Olivia for the last time on xmas eve but ive had 3 periods already anyway.

MERRY XMAS everyone. Hope you all had a lovely time. I LOVED it this year with Evan being 3.5 and really really excited about Santa. Olivia was just excited because everyone else was!

Did the same sock, squealed and let Evan rip them open. Stared at age appropriate toy with 'bored' expression then crawled over for another press at Buzz Lightyear Hmm.

Where's our fat friend super - How are you? Did you watch 'One born every minute'? Oh how I sob through that programme!

HAve a great New Year everyone (hopefully you are all stuck in like meGrin)!

CantThinkofFunnyName · 31/12/2010 15:01

Happy New Year everyone! Yes sneak I'll be stuck in like you. But I will have 6 kids here with me and the plan is to play games (yawn). Actually feel like a nap right now. In fact, might have one as probably the only way I will last until midnight!

Olivia was 1 on Wednesday and we had family over (30 of us). Was very lovely and she is now totally interested in toys which is great - but not so interested in the whole unwrapping thing.

Kids watching Alvin and the Chipmunks so going to see if I can bag a space on the sofa and snooze....

xx

Happy New Year everyone :)
Have told the kids they can stay up till midnight but ds1 doesn't look like he will stay up past 9 lol Grin
Have a good one x x

sockmonkey · 05/01/2011 16:09

Happy Birthday little Cara. Hope she has a lovely day. Remember to eat an extra slice of birthday cake "for the baby" Fraoch Wink

Hope everyone is doing well.

Fraochsmum · 06/01/2011 11:19

Aw thanks sock! Lovely of you to mention it, we had a lovely day thanks and DH wished me a 'happy giving birth day' Grin We are having a wee gathering for her on Saturday - one for the adults before I have to start having loads of kids over!
Thanks too for your lovely messages re my new pg! Things are still going smoothly with no symptoms now for well over a month - deffo a baby in there tho!
Hope everyone has managed to avoid the lurgy btw xxx

sockmonkey · 12/01/2011 18:03

Well... I am a bit weepy. I've come to the conclusion it's time to stop BF. I've got thrush in my breasts and nipples, and the agony of feeding it pretty unbearable. I've had medication to clear it since last week, but it's still like lactating broken glass. My left nipple has a massive open crack in it, and when Noop fed off it just now she came away with blood all over her mouth. It's not helped by the fact she bites cos she is getting frustrated at slow letdown (prob cos I am so tense from pain) and with three teeth, thats not good either.

Sorry for TMI but I feel like I have to justify it... even to myself. I was so determined to feed past 1 year like I did with DS2, I feel like I've failed her, and failed me. DH says "Just stop then" like it's that easy. I wanted to let her chose when to wean of the boob.
I'm hoping she takes to a bottle easily. DS1 was a nightmare, and DS2 never had one at all. I feel upset that her last experience of feeding was so rubbish.

Mama5isalive · 13/01/2011 09:06

I dont believe the thread is still here thought i would have to be looking for it! i guess we are so busy dont have much time for being on here anymore!

Fraochsmum · 13/01/2011 10:30

Oh dear sock, it must be so hard but it seems your body has chosen for you Sad . You have done fantastically well, but if it starting to be detrimental to you and/or Noop you really have to be selfish. Thinking of you xxx
Lovely to hear from you mama! Glad Isiah is doing so well too - words oh my gosh! Cara says dadada and mumumumum (when she's grumpy), but that's about it. She has a really cute way of blethering in a wee whisper - probably every child does it, but I'm new to it!
She still can't take more than 4 steps at a time but can zoom up the stairs as quickly as me Hmm
Happy impending birthdays to all the babies xxx

CantThinkofFunnyName · 13/01/2011 20:51

Sock - WOW, I can't believe you are still BF so please do be very proud of yourself for getting this far. What a fantastic start you have given little Noop - but your body is now suffering as Fraoch said and it seems it is time to stop. I wish you lots of luck with the moving over to the bottle xx

Mama - lovely to "see" you. Wow - so many words!! Isiah is a clever little boy.

Fraoch - how are you doing? Sailing through this pg too? xx

All busy busy busy here as normal. Have taken on an event contract so am working 2 days a week from home with Olivia now at childminders on those 2 days during school hours. She's happy as larry and a real little character. No words really - other than the sounds of Dadda and Mum mum mum. Lots and lots and lots of hilarious noises that sound a lot like words, but I know better! Think proper words are a long way off at the moment. What's that they say - early walkers, late talkers... or something. I don't know. She'll talk when she's ready, just like others will walk when they're ready. No rushing them. Goodness it doesn't seem that long ago that I was trying to rush her out of my belly and here I am going on about walking and talking!

Hope everyone else ok

Pop back and let us know how you're getting along

Jacob can chatter away but still at 13 months can't stand unaided let alone walk.
He shouts his brother and sisters name and is so excited to see them after school.
He is really good at yes and no and will even say no to a biscuit Shock

He was weighed at the hospital last week and weighs 20.6lb and is a dinky little man at 72cm he has been put on longterm antibiotics until at least April so hopefully it will help his chest problems.

Like cant I am busy juggling work/family and have started a course with OU to top up my degree to BA honours ten hopefully complete my pgce and become an infant teacher.

Hope all the little ones have/had a fab birthday x x x

sockmonkey · 14/01/2011 15:59

Well, I gave up giving up, and am back to BF after the worst night. She flat out refused to have anything at all to do with a bottle.
I went back to the docs, who has given me another weeks meds at double the dose, and decided as my nips had got worse not better, that I must be alergic to the cream I was given, so have stopped putting that on, and started on industrial amounts on linusoh (sp?)I was also given the number of a BF councillor, who had suggested a change in feeding possition (rugby hold) which is less painful. Doc was very keen that as I was still feeding, to keep on going. She was lovely.

Noop has no real words yet. She says "I did it" and "Eddie did it" quite a lot, but as Eddie is my friend's dog, I doubt very much that he had anything to do with it at all. Wink We get mum mum mum when she's sad. She can stand unaided (but only if she has something in her hands).

CTFN DS1 was an early talker, but a late walker (18 months!) DS2 was an early-ish walker (11 months) late talker. I guess the Noop will be somewhere inbetween.

Ali what kind of child will say no to a biscuit?! Shock Hope the anti-biotics work well for him.
