Now im laughing at me saying 'have to run'! I didn't wee honest!

Right I will talk about something other than my leak jump leak trauma!

Olivia 9.5 months and around half an hour ago she she crawled for the first time Grin.

She is going to destroy the place I can tell. So much more into everything than DS ever was.

Very very happy baby, massive grin for everyone and giggles like mad.

I love babies so much, adorable.

Evan joined nursery in Sept and loving it. He is still a cute/funny/good 70% and hyper/cheeky/moany 30% which is not bad odds for a 3yr old!

Loves his sister and is very good with her. So cute to watch them together.

FiL is doing well after stomach cancer. He did have 80% of his stomach removed and 25 of 30 lymph nodes around it removed, 5 of which had a trace of cancer too but he didn't need chemo.
He has a 50% chance of it returning which he reckons is fine with him. He's decided to join the 50% group that doesn't get it again!
He is very positive and ready to get back to cycling and walking ASAP.

My in laws are not my favourite people as you may remember but he has really really impressed me with his brilliant outlook.
I think he is just the type to be in the 50% never to get again group.
DH is feeling much better too just because of how his dad is being. Smile

I am going to hang around a bit to see how you all are (thread is slow now) then cancel out again!
Too tempting to sit on bum and chat rather than hang up that crumpled washing that's been there since 7.30am, sitting in the basket behind me
xx

alibobins · 05/10/2010 14:49

Really good to hear from you sneak
Jacob is doing okay ish don't know how far back you have read but he has got a problem with his left leg he has had hip scans and they okay so they think it is his lower leg :( he has got a chest infection at mo so quite poorly.

Dd had a hospital appointment this morning and things are stable she has got a small tear in her retina but they are happy to watch and wait.

Olivia sounds lovely just wish Jacob would hurry up and crawl. How is her reflux?

sockmonkey · 06/10/2010 08:21

Ali Poor little Jacob, hope he's soon better, give him a big cuddle from a random lady who lives in his Mum's computer. And I hope your DD's eye heals nicely, a tear in the retina sounds ruddy painful. She's very brave.

My mum has had 2 rounds of chemo now, the second was worse, but she still has her hair, much to the amazement of her doctors. They have given her more drugs to combat the nausia, but we wont know if they help till her next lot of chemo. My Dad has been quite poorly too, but is putting it on a back-burner to look after Mum.

Noop is getting the hang of crawling a bit better, but keeps making her way into corners and getting stuck. It's quite funny (well not to her)

Hope everyone else is doing well :)

alibobins · 06/10/2010 20:07

Thanks funny lady in my computer :)
Dd is brave but also very angry sometimes and takes it out on the wrong people :(

Your post about noop getting stuck really made me chuckle just wish Jacob would move soon he's getting really frustrated.

Newbeginning1 · 07/10/2010 04:59

sneak - woohoo, you're back!!! Don't even think about going again, we are all a bit more chilled out and don't spend as long on here so stay. Please. So the pissy pants thing is funny. My sister had to give up bouncing on a trampoline for the same reason and I don't really attempt running because I'm lazy but also sometimes there may be a bit of wee that comes out a bit like when you're laughing too hard which is also a hazard! I know you can get pelvic floor toners that have got good reviews. Basically, you weightlift with your fanjo Hmm

ali - is Jacob any better now?

Ctofn - feel better soon and crack the whip with your DH now that he's off so he can get his hads dirty too!!

Right I had better get some sleep even though DS disagrees with that. Night everyone x

alibobins · 11/10/2010 20:01

I keep checking in on this thread but it has gone so so quiet.
Hope everyone is doing okay :)

Newbeginning1 · 11/10/2010 23:21

We are still lurking ali. How is your clan doing and how is it at work?

Roll up, roll up everyone else Wink

superparty · 12/10/2010 12:22

Hi I'm still here, but since back at work full time, there aren't enough hours in the day.

Hope everyone is doing ok.

will promise to try and keep up

Erin now standing and falling in equal measure, baby boy jones growing nicely and quickly, am huge, only 14 wks to go

sockmonkey · 12/10/2010 17:14

I think it may have gone quiet cos we cant take our eyes off the babies anymore! Crawling, climbing and falling seem to be the order of the day.
Noop pulled herself up to standing on the couch on sunday... I think because I was ignoring her to watch x-factor. Grin

crumPetSematary · 13/10/2010 18:03

BOO

Hello everyone. Sorry for absence!
I will be back under a diff guise shortly

I have missed you all Grin I was doing lots of exams so mostly a self imposed exile from MN which did the trick actually. Now fed up with law entirely am instead applying for medicine (I applied when I frst joined the first ever thread and got an interview but didn't go- such a fool) will be hard with no science background since I was 16

eek

superparty I hope you're doing okay, you should change your name to partypopper for xmas Grin

newbeginning1 hello hello I hope you've got your passport ready

alibobins sending a huge hug to Jacob and you and all

I haven't read the thread yet sorry Blush

won't bore you with my P dramas, I think it's actually brilliant that I found out his affair (has kickstarted a P detox and am no longer controlled by him which is marvellous)

I go back to work full time on NOvember 1st

DS is now walking around the furniture really fast and he let go the other day and stood by himself Shock he's not talking yet but says mummum. DD was chatting in pproper words by now, but P was giving DS a dummy when was studying (he never had one before that) and I can't get it off him now. DS also learning how to crawl up the stairs really quickly which is pretty worrying

will be back. Lots of love to all and thank you for all being so lovely Smile

alibobins · 13/10/2010 18:19

Love the halloween name good to see you back and okay.
Is Jacob the only baby not moving :( He does talk lots though he says 'look' 'what' 'mum' 'dad' and 'hiya' I wonder if being so ill has set him back.
He had his consultant this morning who has put him on some disgusting antibiotics as she thinks he has got a virus like whooping cough Shock apart from rosy red cheeks and awful coughing fits he seems quite happy but she said his lungs were full of gunk.

crumPetSematary · 13/10/2010 18:29

oh wow alibobins that's streets ahead verbally, normally DS doesn't say mummum just 'aaarrraaagghhhhmum' which I'm not sure about Grin
Honestly ali if he wasn't moving or doing anything at all etc then I'd be worried but that sounds like he's one bright little buttonbobins who has just had a string of health issues that have set him back physically, which means in time he'll be super. He must be very clever to talk like that already!!

crumPetSematary · 13/10/2010 18:49

I'm sorry little Jacob still isn't very well though Sad hope you're taking care of yourself ali, he'll get through it all Smile
and really that talking is very bright so I wouldn't (personally) be worried developmentally

alibobins · 13/10/2010 20:06

its just so hard not to be :( all the little babies at nursery are crawling and cruising and Jacob just sits and watches them.
He is quite dinky still weighing just over 18lb but he loves his food.
Glad little J is doing well. When your medically trained maybe you can come and sort out my kiddiwinks lol

Newbeginning1 · 14/10/2010 05:14

crumpetsemetary - seeing your post made me smile. I'm so glad you're back and that you're well. My passport is still here and waiting for you to come back Grin I'm glad you're doing things you want to do now and that things have moved on with P.

ali - check Jacob out with all of his words. DS has said dadadadada which obviously I was thrilled about because his father is so helpful and the main carer for him Hmm We now have mamamamama and I'm sure he said nana for banana. I wouldn't worry about him not being on the move. My friends girl is 7 weeks older than DS and she is a tiny little thing compared to DS and so chilled out that he just didn't seem to have the need to crawl. Anyway, she's doing it now and there's no stopping here so I'm sure it will happen soon.

sock - sounds like you're having fun with the crawling too Smile

So, Ctofn is running her school Xmas fundraiser and has got tickets to Abu dhabi. How do you think can persuade her to make sure I have the winning ticket???? Grin

CantThinkofFunnyName · 14/10/2010 15:01

Hello everyone! Yey - so happy to see SneakaPeak and CrumPetSematary on here. Have just spent a little while reading back through the posts and chuckling once again.

I've been soooo busy lately with organising school Xmas fete, computer issues and just life that I've completely neglected my MN buddies.

I've taken a little job from next Monday thru Thursday with my old Abu Dhabi team doing a jaunt in London but DH is away playing bloody golf! He informed me just now that he's not back til Wednesday when he always said Tuesday night so now have a babysitting problbem from Tues night onwards. MIL is sitting Monday night thru Tuesday when he was supposed to be coming home. It's a thing that's been arranged for months and abroad but I'm still bloody furious. I only took the job because he got made redundant and I thought we could do with the cash.

Anyway, as New said, I've managed to wangle an 8 night luxury holiday to Abu Dhabi for a Grand Prize Draw at the fete. £10 a ticket, goes into a hat type thing. Been quite exciting and just marketing it today. So now it's school run time and I have to get off.... except my boiler broke, had a new one fitted and the plumber is here sorting it out because it's clapped out for the 3rd time in 2 weeks and f*ing freezing!!!

OP posts:
sockmonkey · 20/10/2010 09:43

Crump Sooooo glad to see you back again! Medicine eh? My nephew traded in medicine for law, then dropped law and is now doing a micro-biology degree so he can do medical research. Hope you have a great time studying.

Ali look at little J and all his words! Clever boy. DS1 was like that. Got his talking in order before he decided to think about being mobile. We get dadadada followed by raspberry blowing.

Noop is getting a monster for grabbing handfuls of my hair and yanking it. I am going to end up bald. Any other babies mean like that?
I am counting down till she can start tormenting DS2. He will not leave her alone, as soon as my back is turned he'll pick her up and put her up on the couch, or do something to make her cry. It's getting to the point where I daren't go to the loo if he is around her. I know its probably jealousy, but I do my best to give him lots of attention. argh!

superparty · 20/10/2010 14:16

Hi loverly ladies

Hope you are all well

Erin had 7-9 month check yesterday doing everything she should and more!!, she thinks she one of the girls i think lol.
sock when the others come up to her and i say give them a kiss she grabs their hair with two hands, and then gives a wry smile, shes going to test my patience i can feel it. is standing all the time and has decided that letting go and then falling on bum is a great game, not.

I am due to finish work on 13th december and was resigning, then going to apply for nursing/midwifery course for next september. every thing sorted out!!!! work have now asked me if i want to stay working in a different role 20hrs a week, checked with hr and my wages while i'm off would be shit. sooooooo what would you do?????
Option 1 - still resign with full months pay and 3 weeks holiday pay and have a great christmas not worrying about money, claim wtc until sept and go back to uni.
Option 2 - go on mat leave in december, have shit money for 6 months but still have a job to go back to.

Nice to see crump back again, sneak you've gone quiet.

Ps: clever mummy super got her degree as well, didn't get hons as didn't complete dissertation, but now have a BA in Health and Care.

Susan Jones BA..... like that Smile

sockmonkey · 21/10/2010 17:49

Well done Super!! What a clever party you are! BA... sounds like you have joined the A team.
As for the work thing.... um....

If you are wanting to do midwifery then what is the best option open to you? Would you hate staying in the job you have and spend your days wishing you'd gone back to school to do the course? Job security is quite nice though in comparrison. How likely is it you'll get the job you want once qualified? It's a tricky one.

CTOFN - did you sort DH out? Golfing indeed!

alibobins · 24/10/2010 13:44

Yay Jacob can finally crawl and he is all over the place lol he managed to crawl from the front room to the kitchen through the hallway :)

superparty · 24/10/2010 17:13

Yay jacob, now mummy needs eyes in her bum.

sockmonkey · 25/10/2010 18:16

Well done Jacob! Clever little fellow.
Ali... protect your kitchen cupboards, babies just know which to go for Wink

alibobins · 25/10/2010 19:36

Phew Jacob is in bed and I can finally sit down lol. Can't believe how much hard work a crawling baby is :)

Can you believe that Jacob is going to be 1 in less than 7 weeks Shock

sneakapeak · 27/10/2010 10:23

Helloooo crumps, nice to hear from you again. You sound happier Smile.

sock I didn't realise your mum was having chemo too. I hope it isn't too long a course for her, what a shame. Must be very stressful for you too.

Noop sounds a character, like her mum!

Olivia started crawling properly last Monday. Lovely to watch and it was a real novalty for DS at first.
Now he is getting Angry at her crawling through his strategically displayed dinosaurs Wink.

Olivia has a horrible horrible virus. Vomiting constantly, coughing, choked up, not eating or sleeping. Ugh.
Nursery teacher told me this morning her baby boy has it and is on day 8 Shock.
I don't think I could do one more night of NO sleep. Im only on day 3, shudder.

ali nice to hear Jacob is crawling now. Evan was 13.5 months before he crawled!! He literally sat on his bum and showed no interest in moving, lazy boy!
He did say words by now but Olivia say's nothing apart from a vague impression of "tickle tickle tickle" which is more like "tiko tiko tiko" Grin.

super well done you on your degree. You are a busy woman indeed.

Im so Envy of all you clever mummy's with your "ah to hang with law, im going to do medicine" and "oh managed to squeeze in a degree whilst re creating the Waltons" and "doing a little project in Abu Dhabi" WTF.

I've always been a thicko with the ambition of a slater (small grey insect, not Kat and Mo etc).

I wish I could think of something id be passionate enough to throw myself into but I can think of NOTHING. I've been pondering this since my careers teacher asked me 20 years ago, so far no progress!

Anyway, i will stick around since it's easier to catch up now.

Happy Halloween when it comes [hwink]

sockmonkey · 27/10/2010 16:08

Sneak - you and me both. I have always just wanted to have children and be a mum. No ambitions beyond that. Well done to little Olivia getting mobile.

Noop really getting the hang of crawling, and will now follow me. Very cute. If I disappear into the kithen, it wont be long before I see a little head peeping round the door, then patter of hands and knees down the hallway.

Are all babies crawling now? Sitting unaided?

How are babies getting on hair-wise? Noop still bald. I thought the joy of little girls was doing hair, but she has none! I would have thought after 9 months there would be enough to put a clip in, but no.

We have had a couple of tiny tantrums. She has a thing for my mobile phone, and my iPod. If I wont let her hold it we get screams. Bit young for that isn't it? Thinking of starting an AIBU thread... my daughter wants a mobile phone, butI think 9 months is just too young. Grin
