Hi all- i havent read the passed few pages but the fact i could find this thread after so long means its gone quiet!!!!!!!!!!!!
i have just been really lazy and cant be bothered to fight dd16 of the laptop and dh who work on the pc all day and most nites!!!!!!
But how are you Super- baby bump?
And Ali - HAPPY BIRTHDAY WEEKEND!!!!!!!!! whoop whoop - i guess if not BF you'll be drinking!!! njoy yourself and your big 30th!
hope everyone else and babies r well - most have done the crawling, weaning and teething stages right?????he is doing everything and now is trying to stand by himself and walks holding on to the chairs! well i decided at 7months to stop BF he just kept biting me and so i went cold turkey and left him for a whole day in which he starved himself and just slept, when i got in breasts were like rocks!!!!! and hurt so decided to express and filled 2 bottles!!!!Shock
when he woke up warmed 4 oz and he gulped it down from bottle!!!!!!!!!! left him the next day and all milk had finished so DH made a formula up and he gulped it down no probs dont think he noticed it wasnt my milk! so stopped and went cold turkey he was fine a bit clingy to me and his dad but my breasts where hurting, full, throbbing, hot and ended up in my arm pits ahhhhhhhhh the pain, they were huge DH called me Jordan!!!!!!! but finally they have retuned to normal size i think! and although leak a bit i feel so much better! and now am free from mr man whenever i please!i invested in a thermo flask and bring up powder and bottle at nite for the early feed at 7.15am - im so happy!!!!!!!!!GrinGrin
although have not seen aunty since the last time i posted ??????????? strange but great!

sockmonkey · 05/09/2010 18:00

Happy Birthday for yesterday Ali.
Sorry I didn't get on to wish it yesterday, but had DSS up for a visit, and the extra male in the house meant I had no chance of getting on PC.
Noop not a happy bunny, don't know if it's the extra fuss going on, or teething. I'm not sure it's teeth even though DH says it is. She has no rosy cheeks, no acid poos and not especially dribbly. I think she's just grouchy. We seem to be getting nowhere with the mush thing. I get maximum of 2-3 teaspoons in her before she screams and pushes food away.
She did however steal an icecream from Grandma and ate loads. I can't wean on icecream... would frozen veg puree work? Mush in a cone?Grin
She was up 4 times last night..grrr. Hoping for a better night tonight.

Newbeginning1 · 05/09/2010 22:15

Hi all,

Happy birthday ali!!! Did you have a great day? Were you out in Notts?

Sorry I've taken forever to post, I typed out a really long message a few days ago but I don't know what happened to it. I also had my niece staying so I flew solo with her and DS which was interesting n

Anyway, I will post more tomorrow, I just didn't want you all to forget me.

CantThinkofFunnyName · 06/09/2010 12:22

Hello everyone.

Ali - belated happy birthday. Sounds like you had a lovely time.

New - saw from Facebook you've been poorly. I do hope you feel better soon

Super - great news about the stats on the test.

Mama2b5 - welcome back!

I keep persevering with trying to introduce finger food / BLW stuff. Steamed brocolli spears have gone down a treat. Not so the carrots - think I steamed a little too much and they fall away in large lumps into Olivia's mouth which obviously causes lots of choking. She loves the organic little rice cakes with blueberry or apple and just adores houmous. Toast is OK - but I have to keep a close eye because of gagging. You see, when she really likes something she shoves the whole lot in her mouth and then literally gags and I have to wallop her back to get the offending item up and out! I now realise why I didn't do this with the others until they were much older. But hey ho, I keep trying all these new fandangled ideas thinking that there must be something in them Hmm.

DS on his 3rd day at secondary and loving it so far. Was particularly excited about today as they are doing PE! He was not, however, excited at the prospect of showering with other boys and has taken in a spare pair of boxers so he can shower in them Confused. In typical boy fashion, no doubt he will grow out of that pretty soon and be parading his bits around to all and sundry Grin.

Right, think she's finished feeding/gagging/choking. Will now attempt a short play followed by nap when I can get some more ironing done before picking up DD from school and taking to swimming.

Oooh - Crumpette still in touch btw. She can log on to MN so is up to date but cannot post. It prevents her from doing so. She is studying hard for some exams atm and once that has passed plans to get MN stuff sorted - even if she has to create another name to come back and join us aaaaaahh. She sends her love to everyone.

Oh - and WMDO sent me an email yesterday feeling v proud of herself for not being on computer at all and even cancelling herself off Facebook! Her Olivia was doing fine until last week when she has promptly turned into a bad tempered madam. Her FIL has been diagnosed with stomach cancer follows on from already having had skin cancer and bladder cancer - so a real blow for the family. He's going to lose 2/3rds of his stomach but they're not too sure of anything else yet as only just found out. WMDO had a mole removed from her shin - then the wound became infected had loads of antibiotics for 7 days, stitches came out, it burst open and now the scar is 10 times worse than the original mole she had removed!! Then she finishes by saying that she's off down south for a holiday (today) and struggling to get prepared.

Made me chuckle as its near Blackpool and she considers that down south - LOL!!

Anyway - she says to say hello to everyone and I'm reeeeaaally going to go now!

x

Ok - now I'm really off.

sockmonkey · 07/09/2010 10:37

Thanks for the update CTFN. I was wondering about Crumpette & WMDO.
DSs back at school today. DS2 was a bit limpet like but I literally had to shove him in direction of classroom, and rush of to take DS1 up to junior building.
Noop getting very close to crawling now, she gets up on her hands & knees, but then back down again.
DH has dentist today, will be going along to support him while he has tooth out. He's going to be grouchy and sore (oh joy!)

superparty · 07/09/2010 11:26

Hi all

Missed me????? no ok then, well I'm still here, sometimes I lurk but don't get time to post before someone wants me.

I want my newborn, quiet, still little girl back PLEASE, this one is crawling all over, trying to turn the sky/dvd on and off and generally being a ruddy nuisance, interupting my leisure time, but I do love here sooooo much and she is fun. She can now crawl properly, sit from crawling and stand on her hands and feet IYKWIM sort of crabby like, she gets so frustarted though as when the girls play outside she crawls to the back door to go with them awwwwwwwww. I don't think it will be too long for pulling herself up and cruising OMG eyes in the bum time.

Well I'm off for my scan to day at 3pm, will find out what we're having as everyone wants to know EXPECT ME but I've been outvoted, fingers crossed everything ok and I will post back later.

Good news from crump and wmdo

Waves to everyone

TTFN xxx

superparty · 07/09/2010 11:27

That obviously should say EXCEPT

sockmonkey · 07/09/2010 11:47

OOh Super, good luck at the scan. Flippin eck that's gone fast!!
If you want to let us know what flavour you are having, that would be good.

Mama2b5 · 07/09/2010 12:51

Hi CTOFN- its good to be back!!!!! Missed the updates of all the 7month old babies!!!!!!!!!!
Socks - ahhh thats nice to hold hand for moral support!
Super- All will be well at scan today and im sure boy or girl - everyone will be happy!

Sad day today my best friends cousin passed away last week and the funeral is today, she was only 28 and had a tumour on the brain that she never knew about it started to give her migraine real bad ones and also she would have problems with her sight and it would be blurred for an hour or so after she woke up, went to get eye test and something was seen told to go Dr's who referred her to hospital they took her in straight away and wanted to remove a sample which they did but then she had some fluids which they tried to drain and then blood so they put her in and induced coma hoping it would settle then it went down hill and then no brain activity so they turned the life support off! this all happened in the space of a week, she left behind 2 little girls 9 and 4.

sorry if this post upsets anyone but i really needed to share! Sad Sad

Newbeginning1 · 07/09/2010 15:49

mama - thats so sad. I couldnt even bear the thought of something like that happening to anyone close to me. Fingers crossed her girls will have a lot of support to get them through such an awful time

super - ooh, how exciting. Feel free to share the flavour on here if you want to Smile I'm with you on the whole nuisance babies. I'm sure DS knows what I dont want him to have and he goes after it. Today he tried eating a plant and soil, joy!! How are things with your DH?

ali - ive not been to Bistro Live for ages. I hope you got up on the tables dancing Wink Was it a theme night? We always went with work when it was school themed. Fingers crossed as well for Jacobs appointment this week, i'm figuring if I dont say it now I will forget!!

sock - how is Noop doing? Has she been better at night?

ctofn - thanks for the hugs. I have tonsillitis Sad and something wrong with my eye. I feel so wiped out but it's nothing in comparison to what others have going on. I saw your pics of your DS dressed ready for school, so sweet. How is Percy?

crumpette - if you get chance to read this I hope you're ok and J is behaving himself for you. Good luck with your studies.

Sorry to anyone i've missed. Waves to all

alibobins · 07/09/2010 20:02

superparty · 07/09/2010 21:10

Hi all

Thanks new things not sorted really just glossed over, but at leasy me and dh are talking, ds went back to college today and enjoyed it so fingers crossed he'll stay and dh will see hes being responsible etc...

Well, all was well with baby scan, we had a trainee too so had a really good look and doubled checked everything with trained sonographer, she asked if we wanted to know sex, and as i didn't really want to know but wasn't bothered i let dh decide, he wanted to. she said what do you already have, boy, girl, girl, girl, girl and they'll probaby send me a naughty boy to finish off. well its a .........................................................................drum roll...................................................................................................................................BOY, omg i was and am still in shock, my ds is pleased as he'll now be able to say hes got 5 sisters and one brother awwww (his dad has a dd as well)

Wonderful news -Super - and thanks for sharing! Grin

CantThinkofFunnyName · 08/09/2010 14:12

Super - FABULOUS NEWS!!! Congratulations!! A little boy, just wonderful - will that finish you off? Wink

sockmonkey · 08/09/2010 16:17

Mama - so sorry to hear about your friend. That is just so young. Hope her girls are doing ok. That really is just terrible.

Super - woo!! A blue one. Although I would have been equally excited for a pink one too. Babies are great whatever the flavour! nice bookends to the girls, if he is your last... who knows. Having babies might become your christmas tradition! Grin

Noop... not so happy with her. She didn't sleep till 2am this morning. Then DS2 wandered in at 2.30 cos he "just wanted a cuddle" Boys then up at 6.30 while baby slept in till 8.15. I'm surprised we made it to school on time.
I think it's either teeth or tummy ache. She was grizzly all morning. She did a big poo (sorry I know mentioning poo is banned) and has brightened up, but is still trying to eat her fist.

Newbeginning1 · 08/09/2010 20:11

super - I'm such a cheat and skimmed all of your post to find out the flavour then read it properly. Congratulations! It's great as well that you got an in depth scan, did you get good pictures? Now that you know it's a boy does it make it easier for you to pick a name? Jack was the only boys name I liked at the time so my DS didn't have much choice!!

ali - big fat boo for you going back to work tomorrow!! At least you will still be near Jacob though. I'm friends with Ctofn on facebook but nobody else but feel free to find me if you're on there.

sock - poor you last night with Noop and the boys. Maybe now that she is having more solids she's finding it harder to go? Teething is also a pain in the ass. I'm on my phone so I can't do a link but you should try a Brush Baby. You can get them from John Lewis and they are about £5 and it's like a toothbrush but one that your baby can hold and chew on. Jack loves his and you can put teething gel on the bristles too so it gets where it's needed.

I need everyones advice. I'm attempting to set up my own business doing castings of babies hand and foot prints and doing finger print jewellery but I think that the jewellery is going to be harder than I thought. In addition I was going to do personalised aprons and towels and bags and things with babies or childrens hand or foot prints on as I thought they would be nice gifts that wouldn't be too expensive. I thought as well i could sell baby vests etc with hand prints in the sides for new parents that say hold here as a joke present but also something that would be quite cute. What do you guys think? Also, I need a name for it all so any thoughts are welcome. Of course I will remember you all when I earn my millions Grin

CantThinkofFunnyName · 08/09/2010 20:54

New - fabulous business idea! I'd love those. A mum at school does the fingerprint jewellery and in fact I got DH cufflinks for Xmas with the 2 kids fingerprints on silver. He treasures them.

I'm feeling a bit down in the dumps as DH's job not going great - bonuses not been paid, dividends not what they promised, he has shed loads of debt as a result and I'm being asked to go back to work Sad.

No way am I going back to doing what I was doing before - but looking out for freelance stuff. Trouble is, my heart really isn't in it, don't have the drive or ambition I had for over 20 years! Been looking through loads of websites etc but just feeling grumpy about it all. Hey ho.

Right - am going to sign off as glass of wine finished, he's in Manchester and I'm grabbing the remote controls now the kids have gone to bed!

Ctofn - oh dear, you really must not want to go back to work if you're down in the dumps. You're supermum who is always ready for everything and anything. Grin Maybe you should go into business with me or alternatively "borrow" my ideas and make your millions first Hmm Could your DH change jobs or is it not the kind of work where it is that easy?

ali - how has your first day back at work gone?

Well first week back okay and Jacob settled better than I expected.
Some good news and bad news re Jacobs legs the good news being that it isn't his hips :) but the bad news is that his lower leg is growing twisted from the knee down but it is a case of watching and waiting :( they want to follow up in Jan hopefully little man will be cruising/walking by then to discuss possible brace or surgery but all in all I am pleased with the appointment.

CantThinkofFunnyName · 11/09/2010 09:45

Jesus Christ Ali - have you seriously considered writing a book? You are having way too many troubles for a mother to bear. I know it's good news and bad news but it's just another thing for you isn't it? Whatever you're doing, I salute your coping techniques xxxxx
