Fraochs - I'm sure everything will be ok. A friend had a lump not long after finishing BF and it turned out just to be a milk related issue. Hope you are ok.
I can't believe all these mobile babies. DD can't even sit up yet.(boys love to play baby left baby right with her Hmm)

Off on holiday today... lovely rainy seaside here we come!! I'm just hoping Noop doesn't develop a taste for sand!
Will probably end up in an internet cafe at some point. DH starts to twitch if he doesn't have regular access to internet! Will try and keep up with news.

CantThinkofFunnyName · 22/08/2010 18:00

Hello everyone!!!

I'm back from hols today and can't believe my last post is still on this page! WTF have you all been doing??

Anyway, it's going to be another quick one as Olivia is literally a nightmare atm. She is crawling, standing and cruising. Also, she doesn't want to sleep, doesn't want to go in her cot or any other place that keeps her "in one place" IYSWIM. We had wooden floors fitted just before we got the puppy so it's a whole new ball game for me now. With the other 2, we always had carpets and being only 7 months, she is still not strong enough to stay up for long so comes down with an absolute crash, usually on her head and then screams the place down.

Question for those mums of other kids - anyone have hard floors - and what do you suggest? I'm doing to start googling for playpens with a nice soft padded bottoms - but just wonder if there are any suggestions....

PS - got back at 1:45am and been on the go all day so pretty exhausted now. Hopefully will have more time for MNing later in the week

fraochs - fingers crossed the lump is nothing to worry about. Please let us know how things go.

ctofn - i hope you had a good holiday.

sock - i was breastfeeding DS through the bars. I know, i know, I should go to Japan and star in my own show like the ladies with the ping pong balls. Is it Japan or Bangkok?? How is Noop doing with food?

swh - 6 teeth? My goodness. DS has 5 which are all coming through at the same time and they are his first 5 teeth and he's just not happy and not his normal self which is upsetting. Any top tips for teething babies?

ali - broody??? Are you going to be joining Super on the antenatal threads? Rather you than me. I braved taking Jack and my 3 year old niece to the Riverside Festival as my first outing with them together by myself which was stupid brave. I can handle 2 of them for a limited time but im more than happy with just the one! How is your DD? Any news about her eye?

Sorry i've not been on, i've just been trying to keep things on an even keel at the moment. DS is ridiculously clingy and I did think at one point that the only way to get some peace from him was for me to end things and that then he would be much better off with my sister. I'm feeling a bit more positive now though so it's all good.

Has anyone heard from crumpette or wmdo and where has super slinked off to?

FifiForgot · 22/08/2010 21:21

CTFN we had hard floors when DD was a baby - I have to confess that we used a baby walker. It was one that DH had when he was a baby, so probably totally against the new H&S laws, its basically a canvas seat with 4 legs on wheels. DD LOVED it! She would spend hours rolling around the house in it and before we knew it she was walking on her own. It saved the bumps on the head that are part and parcel of learning to walk on hard floors!

DS is also making use of the same walker (new house, new hard floors!) and is loving it. He is a bit more um, vigorous than DD and my skirting boards are paying the price, but hey, he is happy!

Other than than all I can suggest is lots of rugs, but that is probably not that practical with a puppy!

Fraochs hope all is ok

Haven't been around much - life has become a bit manic and DD starts school in September, so we are frantically trying to spend as much time with her as we can before the "system" gets hold of her! DS is teething, bit its actually not too bad, he is a bit whiney and snotty but other than that ok.

Hope everyone is ok and the babies are thriving.

alibobins · 23/08/2010 13:11

It has just took me ages to find this thread it had fell off from threads I'm on Shock

new sorry you were feeling like that Sad Jacob is extra clingy and I'm slightly looking forward to going back to work 2 weeks on wednesday Shock he cries when I leave the room squeals at Ds and Dd all day as he thinks everything they own is his honestly he is hard work at moment.

ctofn we have hard floor and have brough a rug for Jacob to play on but he doesn't move so maybe no good for you. Can't believe Olivia is on the move.

We have an appointment with orthopedic surgeon on the 9th re Jacobs legs/hips it is getting more obvious that there is a major difference between the two legs and he just can't support himself with his left leg even when he's sitting he leans over to the side. The length difference means he can't stand he stands like a flamingo with his bad leg tucked up. God knows what treatment if any they do. Sad

Dd has started a summer Drama school for 2 weeks 9-5 so a bit of piece and quiet lol Grin

superparty · 23/08/2010 13:59

Hi all, sorry its been sooooo long, hope you are all well.

great to see babies on the move

fraoch good luck with the lump, and fingers crossed for baby making

Hello to everyone else, and good luck with appointments, etc.

erin is on the move, she doing a cross between comando style dragging and then pressups, she is also trying to sit from crawling, she will eat everything and anything i give her, including things the kids give her crisps etc. I will get her weighed tomorrow to see how shes grown, a lot if looking ar her is anything to go by.

Will promise to try and keep up from now on, but I haven't been neglecting you for my ante natal group, I haven't been on there either, these kids are keeping me too busy!!!

somewhathorrified · 23/08/2010 20:59

new tbh each tooth has required a different approach, but generally invest in calpol and neurofen and dose up before bed, have the dentinox at the ready and a bottle of water or dummy to chew on. During the day apple rings are quite good if you can be bothered to sit there and catch them before they are thrown to the floor.

ctfn we have a rug on laminate...I know classy! Tobin's not walking yet, but is crawling am planning possibly strapping a cushion to his head when the time comes...a bit of duck tape should do the trick I reckon:)

frao hope your OK, It's prob just left over bits from bf or something equally normal. Jus let us know.

Tobin's decided that mummy no longer needs more than 2 hrs sleep at a time...sometimes just 30 mins should be enough...every night! It's driving me nuts, well it would be if I could think long enough to form a coherent , er, something or other, er..gonna go, I'm losing it.

Hello!
Just a quick post, having a pretty rainy time here at seaside, & boys have become slightly addicted to the 2p slot machines.
Noop doing ok with the mush now (but seems to prefer icecream)

CantThinkofFunnyName · 24/08/2010 18:52

Sock - hope your break improves (the weather that is). Also - lots of hugs sent for your family re MIL x

Lottie - Crash helmets??!!! PMSL. Truly ingenious idea. DH said to Olivia the other day "we're going to have to buy you a crash helmet" - wait til I show him these LOL!

Fraochs - I second what the others have said about the lump probably being something to do with stopping bf. Too much of a coincidence don't you think that you've stopped feeding and now have a lump? Anyway, I know it's insane to say "don't worry" - but I await your news saying "ach, it's nothing" Smile.

Super - just think how busy you'll be next Jan/February!!

Well I managed to clear my washing and ironing today - there was soooooooooo much from holiday. And the next pile is building up. Gonna have to go back to doing it at weekends though because it is a true nightmare with little one on the move.

Over and out x

sockmonkey · 28/08/2010 15:00

We are back. Have a mountain of washing to do, but it's raining, so can't dry lots.

Noop gone back to refusing to open up for food. Gah! Hoping it's just the lackn of routine while we were away, and we'll get back to normal soon.
She has also started biting my nipple. Ye-ouch. Not impressed.

Fraochsmum · 29/08/2010 22:23

Thank you all for your kind words - I have my appointment tomorrow and am feeling much more positive now - not least because it has reduced quite a bit. Will let you know how I get on x
ali I hope all goes well with Jacob's appointment, I wasn't aware he had any problems with his hips xxx
sock not nice about the biting...
Cara continues to freak me out with her manouveres - the wee hooligan can climb the stairs now! She got her first bruise today as well, she pulled herself up on the bathroom cabinet and lost her grip :( She's got a huge lump now x
Hope you're all well xxx

Ach, it was nothing!!! Yipee! I saw a very nice doctor and had an ultrasound then spoke with the doctor again. He said there was nothing there to give him any concern or require a biopsy. However, he said it may have been a different story 2 weeks ago and if it were to happen again to phone them directly. Absolutely great service from the NHS I have to say, and thank you all for your kind thoughts.
How did you get on today ali? Hope it was good news for your wee one. I'm sure if there are any anomolies with Jacobs hips there are so many things they can do these days, but hopefully it won't come to that xxx

alibobins · 01/09/2010 09:58

froach yippee glad you got some good newsSmile

Dd got on okay but nothing has changed so she has got to have a steroid injection into the back of her eye Sad she had one last year just after she was diagnosed so at least we know what to expect then she goes back 5th Oct.

superparty · 01/09/2010 21:42

Hi all

Great news froach

Sorry it wasn't better news for DD ali, sending her and you hugs

News here, did have bloods taken at 18wks for DS (didn't tell dh, as we are not speaking, long story), got a letter today and its 1:1000 so low risk yay, wasn't particularly worried but its still a relief. and as I've always said if i'm the one then so be it.

DD2 and 3 back at school today, DD1 gone camping with gps till sunday then back to school tuesday, DS starts college tuesday and super back to work 7th Sad so only have a couple of me and erin days left. I'm kinda sad about that, but only 12wks until lots of me and erin days, but only until bubba turns up Smile

sockmonkey · 02/09/2010 09:25

froach Phew on your behalf. Glad it's nothing to worry about.
ali Ouch for DD. Hope all goes well when she has it done.
Super Woo! Glad all is well with your little bump.

Went to dentist yesterday with DH and boys... first time I've been since I left school. Was expecting I'd need lots of work & would get a big telling off. Only needed 2 fillings... not bad for 16 years with no treatment. Trouble was dentist guy was gorgeous... think this
I had on no make-up, and cos of epic scale & polish ended up covered in dribble. It was even in my hair & down my back. How embarrasing! Next time I'll wear face full of slap, and a pretty outfit.

alibobins · 02/09/2010 21:31

anywhere near me sock Grin

CantThinkofFunnyName · 03/09/2010 19:16

Hello everyone. Lord - this thread is getting so quiet now! Last night was the first night I dropped the dream feed for Olivia and she slept from 7pm to 7.30am - hoorah!! No waking at all. It's a complete first Grin.

So in other news, my SPD that I have really bad during pg (all those months ago) has been rearing its ugly head for about the last 4 months but getting worse and worse every month. Have resigned myself to the fact that I really do need to go to GP and try to get a referral or something Sad.

However, the bright side is that as Olivia slept through last night, I am now off to have a long soak in the bath, candles the works and will then have an early night. Oh how I have longed for this day.

And and and she is sooooooooooo nearly walking Shock. x
