Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Zoes that's really cute about your DD and her determined striding and nodding. She sounds so grown up! Fingers crossed for your friend's baby, an op on such a little one sounds terrifying. I hope it's the best news.

Am off to my scan in half an hour, DP and T are still asleep after another night of screaming for 2 hours (T, not DP). He sounds very hoarse and I wonder if he has a throat infection. Might explain the temp. It's brought under control by the meds but as soon as they wear off it's up and over 39 again. Poor little sausage.

Oh, and DP went to T's parent's evening at the nursery last night, and brought back a folder of stuff. Of course a lot if it's bureaucratic nonsense (how T lifting a stickle brick is evidence of spatial awareness and connection with his surroundings) but it is really funny to get a snapshot of him when he's not here. I hope he's well enough to go tomorrow, I have a whole bunch of work to do.

Better off and shower. Will report back later.

db-gate update. Email in saying it's a petty argument and asking if we can forget it also asked about baby. V pleased about this but will be cautious at the same time. Just glad he's realized he is being a knob (I think he knows he really upset me)

Hi Zoe, great news on the up in comms with dd. DS has started answering "yeah" rather than "yes" God knows where he got that from

Beans did you work out who I am? I see I made a lasting impression at our very first CJ meetup!
I know who you were - you were hanging with miss Penny99 and we didn't get a chance to chat to be fair

Beans33 · 27/05/2010 08:41

Rubes - you threw me as you were KMP, if I remember correctly?! Sorry, am crap with names in RL, let alone having various ones on here! Rubbish me - I'm so sorry.

Spot - please do let us know how it goes - and poor little T. Sending out positive vibes all over the shop.

Zoe - love the nodding - and the striding - v sweet!

DD has started trying to say crocodile - which is v sweet. She's got the hang of Ellie and Duck and various other animal noises, which is smashing - I love it! And she finally says Mummy, not mlurrna, which is was for ages. And does a lot of pointing at her nappy saying "poo poo" - and usually nothing there. But never mind!

Had a really bad night's sleep last night for no apparent reason - I think my feet are suffering the extra weight - always really hot. Plus, having watched Paranormal Activity on Tuesday night, when I went for my wee at 3.30, I got the fear about baddies and couldn't get back to sleep for a while - so weedy!

Beans33 · 27/05/2010 08:46

Oh and Rubes - v glad you heard from your brother - that's ace. Well done him for coming back to you! I'd just gloss over it now and move onwards - sounds like that's your plan anyway. Hurray!

My MIL rang last night for a chat and spoke to her for 25 mins. It was lovely. They're coming up on Thursday next week to help me pack up and then back again on the Sunday to help us unpack. V kind of them. Am so grateful! She will look after Whizz and love it, while I can get the kitchen in the state I want it!

EffiePerine · 27/05/2010 09:22

Hope the appt went well Spot.

Katie: how did yesterday go?

Rubes: yay for your brother coming to his senses .

Zoe: ds2 says yeh as well. Dh, ds1 and I are 'Daddy'. He has started trying to say mummy when prompted, but it usually comes out as 'nanny'. Sigh.

Avocadoes · 27/05/2010 09:43

MoM - yes you must get Internet access on your phone. 'tis the only way to balance conflicting demands of motherhood, work and MN. It also helps kill the boredom of public transport

Zoe - such a sweet image of your DD running off for her appointment with bag in hand.

Spot - I have my fingers crossed for you. I so hope the scan man had good news. xxx

Rubes - hurrah for a happy ending to DB gate.

I'm not having a great morning. We are meant to be joining LadyT in Seeden tomorrow but BA just emailed to say our return flight is cancelled so we can get there but not back. That not good news when we are leaving the kids behind with a nanny charging an hourly rate. Plus I will actually miss the girls a lot and want to know I will be back soon. To add to my woes I have a very sore throat- kiwi and rubes you better not have infected me before my first weekend of freedom!

Rubena · 27/05/2010 10:15

Yes Beans I was that other name then probably something else in the interim!

Glad you in-laws are helping out. I know how that is with moving - I have to get things where I want them and it would be way to difficult with ds in tow tugging on my clothes and toddling around after me to play. He's non stop this morning as per usual, and gets sick of playing with each toy after about 5 seconds today. Weather crap again isn't it - otherwise I'd be going to the swings.... Scared I'm just going to eat again instead....

Spot hope to hear how it went shortly? I'm sure it's all fine

Oh no Avo!!! Does that mean you are not going? Not sure I'd want to deal with all that I don't you at all. Wish I could help. Bloody BA

MomOrMum · 27/05/2010 10:17

Morning all. Annoyed at work colleagues today, so I'll get them all back by faffing around on Mumsnet instead of working!

Avo That's a bit worrying about the flight situation. I wouldn't want to get stuck in Sweden away from DS either (though after the nights we've been having, maybe I would??)

Great to hear about the babies and their new words. Zoe love the independent streak in your DD!

Forgot to comment on the discussion re: the name Georgia. Love it! Very surprised that it is popular here as I always think of it as quite an American name.

I have a sense that LO-in utero could be a DD this time? Not sure why, but that is my guess at this stage.

Rubena · 27/05/2010 10:20

oh no Mom - glad you like the name but (with all due respect) that's why dh was put off it at first - you are Canadian right?

Rubena · 27/05/2010 10:22

Mom do you have any names shortlisted? Oh and how many weeks are you now?

I saw on FB that Kim is moving back to the US? What's the story does anyone know? I will be -ed to ask her as I deleted her then re-instated her as I didn't know who she was for a bit!

MomOrMum · 27/05/2010 10:28

Yep, I'm Canadian so no worries there Rubes. I know a lovely Canadian girl named Georgia, if that helps? It must not have the American connotations here if it is popular though.

DH does NOT like my top girl name. It was a relief that DS was a boy because we both agreed on the top boy name. Better start fighting for my girl name now, just in case! It is Maude.

MomOrMum · 27/05/2010 10:33

I am way behind you preggo ladies and still in the scary phase. Just coming up to 8 weeks.

Beans33 · 27/05/2010 10:35

Ooh, how exciting! I love early pregnancy! I've got a midwife appointment today - I'm 36 weeks tomorrow. Dear GOD! I can't believe it. So weird. And my bump really isn't very big. Two people I've bumped (haha) into the last couple of days thought I was about 6 months pregnant! Definitely think it's a boy as was massive last time!

Avo - what do you think you'll do re going away? Maybe don't go to the wedding and still have your weekend away, but go somewhere in UK? I'd recommend Danesfield House!! hee hee! Thanks for that tip, Rubes!

MomOrMum · 27/05/2010 10:40

Hmmm...not sure I share your love of early pregnancy. The heightened sense of smell combined with the frequent urge to vom...bad combination, especially when on crowded commuter trains (blech!).

Beans33 · 27/05/2010 10:43

yes, that's true - that constant feeling of having a hangover... 2nd trimester definitely best! but on 2nd pregnancy, 3rd isn't too bad - apart from being exhausted. But think 3rd trimester better in 2nd pregnancy because I haven't got time to think about it!

spotofcheerfulness · 27/05/2010 10:48

Hi all, just popping on to say all ok . Am 8 weeks +3 and they can't seem to find a reason for the bleeding but aren't worried.
So relieved.
Off to take T to docs now.
Oh, and mom am amazed you can tell where your foetus is right now, I have no idea!

JamInMyWellies · 27/05/2010 10:54

Phew thats great news Spot.

Rubena · 27/05/2010 10:56

Spot so glad to hear that - but I thought as much as although I've had no bleeding in any pregnancy, I feel like I'm in a minority and I know loads who have and it's been normal You and Mom are right there together with your dates! Who needs another antenatal thread!
Beans I had the same - that constant hangover feeling in the first, then 2nd was ok-ish but 3rd i'm hating! Just feel huge and can't get comfy - yes have less time to think about it with ds, but on the flip side I was working more (full time) and later (right up until 3 weeks before I think with ds so that took my mind off it. Can't wait for out little trip to Spain though...

Mom G is a Latin name apparently.... I think it's all to do with the state of Georgia. It's quite liked back in my country though, besides the state in the US was actually names after King GeorgeII !
I love your ds's name! ON your girls I quite like it but am a bit undecided to be honest though I bet it will grow in popularity and be the next Rose very soon

Beans33 · 27/05/2010 11:01

HURRAH SPOT - That's ace! And good luck at doctor with T - let us know how he is too.

Rubena · 27/05/2010 11:01

I can't stop eating

Beans33 · 27/05/2010 11:03

ME NEITHER! I've just had 2 yum yums from Waitrose. Bloody lovely. And DD has just brought me a very small wizened potato from our cupboard. V kind of her.

Rubena · 27/05/2010 11:24

I had 1.5 toasted ham sandwiches for breakfast, a wrap with chicken in it (not too much to be fair) ds had a bite too (I know his mouth isn't that big but I have to justify it somehow)then I heated up a small pot of spag bog that was aside for ds for lunch it was tiny though and I'm not having a cup of tea with a musli (cereal) bar....

Wondering what i'll have for lunch now Soup for dinner I think.

Beans33 · 27/05/2010 11:28

I'm having either a pepperoni pizza, or a greek salad with chicken for lunch. Think probably the latter.

For dinner, I'm making salmon wrapped in parma ham, with rice, broccoli, and an avacado side sauce thing. Sounds yummy. Am quite excited about it! I made delicious prawns with leeks, chilli, wine and creme fraiche last night. Quite the cordon bleu at the moment!

JollyBear · 27/05/2010 11:39

Fantastic news spot

Rubena · 27/05/2010 11:45

wow you are quite the chef there Beans.... We've had salads recently - gone all good in the evenings to make up for unbelievably crap boring daytime pigouts...
Had grilled chicken salads for 2 nights then seared tuna salad last night which was YUM.
Tonight will be soup though. (Carrot and Coriander, since it's a low low cal solution
